Ultiboard user footprint doesn't show up in Multisim footprint dialog box

I can't get Multisim's footprint selector dialog box to access certain parts I made recently in Ultiboard. I've been doing this a long time and never had this problem. Design suite version is 10.1 and OS is Win7 Thanks

Thank you Tien, I tried shutting both Multisim and Ultiboard down and restarting them without result. I tried making different parts to see if any of the names i was using might be creating problems. I finally rebooted the PC and the part I was trying to link to the Multisim database, finally linked. I had the same problem with the next part I made and tried rebooting the PC again, but this time it didn't work. Coevally with this problem, I could not see the top[ copper layer in the process of making parts with the wizard (only the silkscreen layer). I deleted the ub_config file and solved that problem, but the MS database link is still a problem. I plan to delete the ms_config file tomorrow to see if that is whats causing the hang up. Apparently something happened in this machine that screwed up the design suite. I'll let you know what happens when I delete the ms_config file if you wish. I welcome any insights you might have. Ultiboard part wizard doesn't show any copper layers during part creation. I have to check the box to activate Copper Top in the part editor, once the part is made in order to see what I've made. I suspect there is a connection between this issue and my prior issue with the inability of the Multisim database to link to parts that I have recently made in Ultiboard. This all just began happening this week (of 8-27-12) Design Suite version is 10.1 & OS is Windows 7.

This is very strange. My suggestion is that you can try to delete the configuration file. To delete the configuration file, go to Options >> Global Preferences. Under the Paths tab, select the path to the configuration file all the way upto config\ as shown in screen shot. Close Ultiboard and navigate to this folder. Delete all the files and then try to open Ultiboard again. This should resolve the issue.
Please let me know what happens.

InDesign CS6: The "find" function doesn't work in "Open a file" dialog box...

I am using CS6 on OSX 10.7.5. When I try to search in the OPEN DIALOG box, it NEVER lists anything, not even a close match. If I however search the SEARCH feature on OSX it always finds what I'm looking for. Is there a setting that I have to change to get this to work or is it a glitch? thanks so much!

Apple Users Data Doesn't Show in PDF Form

Hello,
We created a form using Acrobat 9. The form can be filled in and saved so people can email it back to us.
Whenever I receive a form from somebody that is using an Apple, the characters they have typed, don't show up in the boxes unless you click the box where the data should be. It won't print the data either.
For example, let's say I have part of the form where people type a paragraph. When they email the form over, it's blank....unless I click the box the data in is, they it shows up. This only happens with Apples users.
Do you have any thoughts on why this is and how to correct it?

Thanks for the feedback. Forgive my naivety but if Apple users are using a 'preview' mode, are they still able to type and save the data then? I am getting these PDF's back with the data in the fields, but I have to click the box to view it.
Currently, I am doing what you describe in that I have to open a blank document, and copy/paste the info over.
Is there a 'Apple' version I can create for Mac users? It's strange to think that Mac users can't use the same form....

My contact list on my iPod has gone. In iTunes the info section for contacts doesn't show anything like 'family' - just tick box for all contacts. Any ideas on how to correct this? iPod is 3 yrs old...

My ipod no longer shows any contacts from my address book. iTunes when syncing in the info section - contacts - only shows the all contacts tick box, not categories such as 'family', 'friends' etc.
Any thoughts on why this is please?
Am suspecting icloud as a possible culprit.....

Also you might try forcing the iPod into disk mode first, then connecting it to your computer and see if that makes it show up in iTunes...

Fw doesn't recognize certain files in Open dialog box...

I have opened a file and changed it in Fireworks. I have applied a filter and saved it twice:
- as a Fw PNG file (surf7_2)
and
- as a JPG file (surf7_1)
When I try to open them using Open command, I cannot see them.... see screenshot below:

First, check where you saved them. They are probably in a different folder.
Second, it's best practice to reserve the save function for native Fireworks documents, which are an enhanced .png format. For flattened bitmaps (including flattened .pngs), use the export function under File > Image Preview or File > Export.

I accidentally deleted the last certificate showing in the EMC Server dialog box. grin

I need to know if I reboot the server will I still get access to the EMC if it has no certificate installed?? If that is the case or not how do I Import a new certifiacte which I was attempting to do anyway. Appreciate any help folks.Jim

You need to restart the Exchange services as I have said.
That should force Exchange to recreate a self signed certificate, which will give you access to everything again - basically the same thing that happens when Exchange is first installed.
You might be lucky and the previous certificate is still in the Certificates MMC applet - if it is then you can use IIS manager to bind that certificate to the Default Web Site. That should allow the Exchange management tools to work.

Does anyone know how to get the notification screen in iOS 7 to show the weather? Not showing on my phone, and the weather app doesn't show in the notification dialog.

I am not seeing the weather in the notifications for 'today'. The weather app doesn't show up in the notifications dialog either. What to do?

How to Show a Model Dialog box in a JApplet

I have a JTable in a JApplet.
I need to display a JDialog box as a Model Dialog. The JDialog expects a Frame as parent. How do I create a Frame and show my own dialog box? without a parent Frame the dialog shows up as a Modeless dialog box.
Any help would be appreciated.

The first thing I saw on your code, I've not even looked through it yet, was you are using == to compare Strings... this will almost never work, and will definitely not work for how you are using it. Objects, like Strings, have methods for comparing, in the case you want it's myString.equals(otherString);
You have several options on getting the data from your second window, the easiest is probably just to make a public getter. Since your Window #1 has visibility to your second window, you can use the getter freely.
on the Window #1 side:

Network users doesn't show up on snow leopard client

Hello,
I am having a weird problem with my snow leopard client that won't show a list of the network users.
The server is a open directory server and other snow leopard client can show the list of the network users on login screen except one. I've tried different connections via ethernet or via wireless. (I have 2 client set up at the moment, they are exactly the same clone, client #1 show the list of network user but not client #2).
client #2 will immediately recognize the network accounts are available upon start-up but won't show the list. The computers are added to workgroup manager's computer list and is managed but if the network list doesn't show up on the client that makes the client un-managed.
Could anyone kindly give me advise please?

This might be where your problem begins and ends? If you joined client # 1 to OD and then cloned this to create client # 2 then you're probably going to have the problems you're seeing?
If you want all your workstations to be the same it's best to remove any references to any LDAP Server as well as any TGTs. It's also a good idea to give each client workstation unique names prior to joining an LDAP Directory after they've been imaged. You can create a NetBoot Image with an associated workflow that will define unique names as well as join an LDAP Directory as Post Install actions.

Turn Time Machine OFF temporarily in its preference pane. Leave the window open.
Navigate in the Finder to your backup disk, and then to the folder named "Backups.backupdb" at the top level of the volume. If you back up over a network, you'll first have to mount the disk image file containing your backups by double-clicking it. Descend into the folder until you see the snapshots, which are represented by folders with a name that begins with the date of the snapshot. Find the one you want to restore from. There's a link named "Latest" representing the most recent snapshot. Use that one, if possible. Otherwise, you'll have to remember the date of the snapshot you choose.
Inside the snapshot folder is a folder hierarchy like the one on the source disk. Find one of the items you can't restore and select it. Open the Info dialog for the selected item. In the Sharing & Permissions section, you may see an entry in the access list that shows "Fetching…" in the Name column. If so, click the lock icon in the lower right corner of the dialog and authenticate. Then delete the "Fetching…" item from the icon list. Click the gear icon below the list and select Apply to enclosed items from the popup menu.
Now you should be able either to copy the item in the Finder or to restore it in the time-travel view. If you use the time-travel view, be sure to select the snapshot you just modified. If successful, repeat the operation with the other items you were unable to restore. You can select multiple items in the Finder and open a single Info dialog for all of them by pressing the key combination option-command-I.
When you're done, turn TM back ON and close its preference pane.

{Solved} Windows 8.1 Doesn't show users when windows loads, only shows options for accessibility and shutdown/restart

I just recently come into a problem on a dell all-in-one, where the computer has been updated to windows 8.1 and doesn't show users, only a blue screen with the power options and accessibility options and here is how I fixed it.
Note: you will lose your desktop apps
1. Turn on computer and let load to the blue screen with the options
2. While holding down shift click on the power button and then click restart (while still holding shift)
3. Hold shift until the advanced recovery options comes up
4. click on Troubleshoot>Refresh your PC
5.Enter password for user account
6. Let it do its magic
