Ultimate Integrated Solution??

Hello,
One of my clients is a stylist who has over 1000 clientele in her contact list. She just got a new macbook, time capsule, and iphone (after I continuously bragged about mine!LOL). Anyway, we are trying to come up with the ultimate integrated solution that will allow her to enter and retrieve client profiles from her phone in the simplest way. She'd like one solution that holds all the contact fields including phone, address and email, and have an email setup that she can send out large emails once/month.
I am wondering if Email Campaign would be a good compliment to her system? She currently is using GoDaddy email and it's causing her to keep a second whole database in that address book. She'd like the capability to edit HTML emails and access everyone from her phone/sync with or ideally in one system.
She'd also like custom fields like sorting by last visit date, etc. Would that be something more like Bento?
Do you see a simple solution here?

Wow, that was not very friendly Kappy. She is a friend of mine that I am helping out of the love for our Macs. This was a new one I had no idea about... and was hoping for some insight from those who see the answer easily.
Thankfully the mac store was much more helpful and we found a simple solution. Usually I find those that are into mac are happy to share as well, but I guess it's not everyone.

Key mapping problem in Intercompany Integration Solution for SBO

I am installing Intercompany integration solution 2.0 for SAP Business One in SBO 9.0 PL12. I installed Integration framewerk, have the several DB in the SLD, with test succesfull. I registered the addon in the databases, Installed the Intercompany integration solution scenarios. Everything ok. I also configured settings in SAP Business One with the Intercompany Initialization Wizard in all companys
I have the next problem. When doing key mapping, i try to continue mapping PaymentTerms but i click the button with ... dots and try to choose an option, it appears blanck, cannot select any optiion from the other database. I mark the button i prese and see the seleccioction window empty
When i try to Download Key Mapping Excel Template Data and select PaymentTerms, It saves a file with the next error (it has not a csv structure)
245 - Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value '10 DIAS : 10' to data type int. - S0001 -
Any suggestions ?

Please ensure that in your Payment Terms code, no such special character has been used that are reserved by XML.This may cause conflict with the XML format and may lead to this issue.
Moreover, for analysis, you may provide with the list of common Payment Terms across your Intercompany participating companies.

Integration Solution manager with R/3

Hi,
We are looking for possibilities to implement Solution manager as a replacement for our current notification system.
Is there any possibility in Solution manager to communicatie with objects in R/3?
What we want is to post hours in Solution manager on notifications/incidents/service request (or whatever you call it) with a direct link to an Order or Project in R/3? Is this possible?

what happens?
a problem occurs in R/3 for e.g with a report or alv output needs to be modified...end userr raises ticket in R/3
a servic desk ticket created in solman
now the help or support team raises a change request and then a change developer log from solman to r/3 dev environ to work
and later on with solman change management workflow it goes till PRD where end user test

Integrating Solution Manager in EP

Thanks for replying.I have already created a system to integrate solution manager & implemented SSO via log in/pwd.I am able to execute the transaction like solar01,solar02 through a SAP transaction iVIEW.
The link you have send is describing about creating an iview of type epsolman type from par.By setting this can we execute all the transactions through iview...?
creating an iview of type epsolman from par is used to create an iview in portal to send Support desk message to solution manager and this has nothing to with working with functions of solution manager in portal.
i guess you wish to use functions of solman in portal.
as people said here basic requirements are
1) sso between solman and portal
2) solution manager system in portal

[ANN] JSF/Spring integration solution

We developed a solution for integrating JSF with the Spring framework (http://www.springframework.org/), a well-designed, extensible and easy-to-use Java framework built around an Inversion of Control container (see http://martinfowler.com/articles/injection.html).
Our glue code wraps the JSF context into a Spring context and thus merges them. This way, the JSF context becomes part of Spring and vice versa. This is done in a implementation independent way so that it can be used with any JSF implementation.

As far as I understand, the error was caused by some
class within the sample application which tries to
connect to the Internet. When I'm currently connected
to the Internet which I cannot always do because I'm
using a prepaid connection, the error suddenly
disappear. This makes testing of the application
difficult when constant Internet connection is absent.
I hope you can shed light to me regarding this matter.

Email Integration ( Solution Manager)

         I am doing a scenario of <b>email -> XI -> Solution Manager</b>
Intially for testing purpose we execute it like   email -> XI -> File . & this is working success fully.
now finally Xi had to read mail from exchange server( mail id) and post it to the Solution <b>manager Inbox.</b> further technical processing will be done to make the received mail as Support Desk Message.
now before going to integration with Solution Manager..... I need to know what will the
target from XI to Solution Manager
                                                    Is it any RFC, BAPI....or else in solution manager

I am trying to incorporate this product into my Oracle Portal v10.1.4.1.0. I have followed all of these instructions to the letter.
I have run into a stopping point in these instructions. can anyone help me with these instructions?
the section of the instructions titled, "Registering the Oracle Application Server Provider for Microsoft Exchange 2003" step number 7, "In the External Application ID field, select the ID corresponding to the Exchange Basic Authentication application you created in the previous step."
to what External Application ID are these instructions referring? where is this ID located?

none of this worked!
I think it works that's how you get (NOT got) access to the Add External Application tool. It was all meant to give you access to the tool.
However, the tool couldnt do what you wanted to.
you may want to check permissions for portal which seem messed up. you should be able to login to SSO server page using portal. You seem to have no privilege for it. It did not work for portal but worked for ORCLADMIN. That is why you cannot see the portlet on the builder/administer page too.

no portlet was added or modified. I was able to get to my 'SSO Server Administration' by way of http://<server>.<domain>:7777/pls/orasso/orasso.home and logged in as ORCLADMIN.
It's not to claim a credit; it is to describe a valid method. I do not wish to waste time on personal claims or disclaims.
If you haven't read my message completely then you may be right.
I wish you good luck in finding a solution.

Integrated Solutions Java Discussion Forum

Here's some feedback on the above portlet. We have installed the forum in a separate OC4J container on 10g. It installed without any problems and is working correctly through Portal apart from the following.
We are experiencing problems wth refreshing.
a. If you reply to a thread the reply is placed second last on the page. You have to exit and re-enter the portlet before the lastest thread is displayed at the bottom of the page.
b. Similar problem. Two users are accessing the forum. First user creates a new reply to a thread. The second user accesses the forum/topic and can see that the number of replies are correct but on accessing the thread cannot see the latest thread. They have to exit and re-enter the portlet before the new thread is viewable.
In general users of the discussion forum may find it useful if security on the Portlet was enhanced to allow security to be attached to Products to allow Products to be public to all users or private to a group of users. The search would also required to be amended to only bring back forum information that the user has access to.

Integrated Car Solution in the UK?

Can anyone give me any advice on a good integrated solution for fitting my 30GB IPOD into my car. I've tried the car manufacturer but nothing available there. I live in London and would welcome any advice/experience from others in this forum.

Re: the Ice link make sure you get the Ice>Link Plus and be aware that most factory fitted stereo's need an adaptor at about another £60 to link them, also you don't get much of a display and you need to set 5 playlists of as it functions as a CD autochanger using 1-5 playlists as if they were CD's
They usually work with the cars stalk control though, the one I linked above seems to be a better option (and about the same price in total) as it gives you full display control.

Form my experience in OLE automation of Excel (from VFP, not Java) you will have to learn and understand the Excel object model. To get at that, follow this procedure.
-- Open Excel
-- Select Tools --> Macro --> Visual Basic Editor
-- In the VB Editor, select View --> Object Browser
For more specific information, select a node in the list and click the help button of the Object browser pane. That's the yellow question mark, not the one in a blue circle. This requires that your MS Office intallation includes the VBA help files.
The search box in the Object Browser is very useful to locate functions and properties and get a list of objects for which they are available.
Is that setBold method too long to post here? The method signature is not enough to fully identify the object to be passed. In Excel, there are two objects that have a Bold property, Excel.Font and stdole.StdFont (from the stdole library). Additionally, TextEffectFormat has a FontBold property.
This may help you to work out which of these is involved:

-- range has a font property.
Try to make something of that, and if you don't succeed, post what you have tried and I'll take a look.

Direct CTI Integration with Oracle Contact Center Form

Hi,
We are on 11.5.10.2 and we are trying to implement the "Direct CTI Integration" solution that Oracle suggested to enable Screen Pop in contact center form based on data coming from a third party CTI. In our case we are using Genesys TServers for CTI.
In this document (The equivalent R12 document is on metalink titled DIRECT CTI Integration - Oracle EBS Contact Center & Third Party CTI [ID 734902.1]), Oracle solution involves little to no coding from the Oracle Apps side other than a few profile setups. We are not able to get started on this because we did not find some of the profile options. And the forms did not have the changes that Oracle said it should have. Obviously, we need to apply some patches but not sure which one.
I am wondering if there are any users and customer who have implemented a similar solution that can help us get started.

It has been a while since we did a test of the Direct CTI integration at my company. We are on a 12 release so the patches are included, unfortunately I can't help there.
Word from the Wise: Be Prepared....
The only development on the Oracle side that was necessary was the configuration of the profile settings. You select a port in the settings which will then instantiate an http listener on the user's thin client.
The development on the CTI side is intensive....you must code an http listener on your client CTI to enable two way communication between the Oracle thin client and your 3rd party CTI client (most likely residing on the desktop of the user PC, in my case, Cisco CTIOS).
Unless Oracle has since changed their model, you cannot just send a blind screen pop to the Oracle client due to the required 2 way communication. There are a lot of request/response's involved (registers, readys, etc). While it is absolutely necessary for an HTTP listener to exist on the Oracle side, I believe that it is unnecessary to have the level of communication required from the 3rd party CTI. The CTI needs the call control, I just don't believe that Oracle needs to know about it.
If I have incorrectly interpreted or understood the model/options, I hope someone can correct me.

Integrating MDMP and Unicode systems with IDoc interfaces

We are working on integrating SAP R/3 6.20 (MDMP) with SAP PI 7.0 SP10 (Unicode) system. The source will send MATMAS or CLFMAS IDocs with Thai / Japanese characters and PI should transform and post it to SAP ECC 5.0 Target system [IDoc to IDoc scenario].
( SAP R/3 Legacy 620 - Non-Unicode / MDMP ) |----> ( XI - Unicode) -> (ECC - Unicode)
Had a look at few SAP notes (745030 ,656350 and 613389) and it looks like there is no standard way/best practice to handle this scenario.

My understanding per SAP Notes: (Please correct me if I'm wrong)
a. For MDMP integraton we can't use Standard ALE Config instead we have to use Custom Configuration (IDoc collection setting in Partner profile &Scheduling RSEOUT002/RSEOUT00_MDMP and use Function module :IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS_2 ).
b. The RFC Destinations should use proper logon langauage for correct MDMP IDoc transfer (For sending IDocs with Japanese character, the logon language should be JP).
c. If we want to transfer IDocs in more than one language we need to create multiple Partner profiles/RFC destinations each with specific logon language.
Please guide us in integrating these systems if you have done a similar integrations, following are my questions:
1] Is there any configuration change required at PI layer?
2] Do we need to install codepages in PI Unicode system for all languages used or Unicode system is capable of handling all the languages?
3] Is it necessary to install any SAP Add-on package in R/3 MDMP system inorder to support MDMP to Unicode data transfer?
3] If we want to send MATMAS/CLFMAS IDoc with Thai/Japanese characters from same system, what are the changes required at the Source system?
(Source may send MATMAS/CLFMAS IDoc with either Thai/Japanese characters but not both of them in a single IDoc)
4] Can we use regualr ALE & Partner profile settings for handling multi-byte characters or we need to use IDoc collection and RSEOUT002/RSEOUT00_MDMP report for transfer?
5] Is there any restrictions on the IDoc types (MATMAS,CLFMAS etc) supported in MDMP-Unicode integration solution.
5] Is there any best practice document available for this scenario?
6] Do we need to involve SAP AG for MDMP to Unicode system integrations(As per SAP Note: 656350) ?

Hi Ananth,
as you have already mentioned, you need differents RFC destinations for each language. So you have to make sure, that the IDocs use the right destination according to there content.
If you have messages from PI to MDMP it is the same, you need different channels with different logon languages as well. You need an identifier in the message, that can be used for selecting the correct channel.
It should not be a restricting to any IDoc type, but it is not possible to post a message with different languages (which require different codepages) in one IDoc.
For correct conversion from a non unicode system to unicode, the codepages have to be installed in th OS of the PI server.

Continuous Integration in WebLogic Integration 9.2.2

Is anyone using Cruise Control or another type of continuous integration solution to build WLI EARs using subversion as a code repository?
We're running into an issue where we can't refresh the workspace without launching workshop and doing a refresh in there. We are trying to develop a continuous integration build (Cruise Control, Ant, Subversion) with this product, but cannot get the refresh from subversion working.
We've searched countless reaches of the internet and worked some with Oracle support and still don't have a viable solution. We're reaching out to our Sales team now to see if they have any information about other groups trying to do the same thing.
So, I need to ask... Is ANYONE doing this??? and if so, can we get an idea of how it's getting done?? We are really under the gun to get something working, and it seems like everything works except this one piece. We really need some help from someone who has done this before.
At this point, we're not married to using Cruise Control and Ant either. If anyone has gotten a process like this working for this product, we're happy to explore a new way of doing it.

Thanks for the reply David. The problem we're having is that when you are in Workshop, there is the option, under the "File" menu to "Refresh" (F5) You sometimes need to do this to refresh your workspace. I'm sorry, I'm not a developer, so I don't know the details behind what that actually does, other than it "refreshes the workspace" so we can pick up the changes made and checked into subversion.
Without performing this step, you don't always build from the latest and greatest code.
The problem we're facing is that it seems that you need to be in Workshop to perform this step. There is a scripted way to do the refresh, but it requires you to open Workshop and run the script. What we're trying to accomplish is a truly scripted solution. All the other steps in the build process can be performed without opening Workshop, but because we can't figure out a way to do this one piece, we cannot have an automated build process.
