Ultimate Voice Recorder - or similar on Blackberry

I nearly bought a Blackberry 2 years ago. Then I found they don't support call recording apps
I have my own business and take client addresses and job details over the phone- usually when I don't have a notepad, or diary
I have used UltimatePortable , Ultimate Voice Recorder for the past 4 years on my S60 phones, this software is also available for Android
I have bought my son a Blackberry (he is 15) and it's brilliant - I am so impressed by the usability of the phone and the ease of the OS.
Why have Blackberry deliberately chosen not to support such software- it can't be a legal thing as all blackberry phones are not sold inside ONE jurasdiction.
I have an old Nokia N86 and I am holding on to it for dear life as it does what I need.
I want to go down a higher spec Blackberry route, but I am looking for software below the $30 mark.
The software I have currently records calls, and emails them to me via wifi when I get home
Come on Blackberry- listen to your potential customers
Had this been available I would have 3 Blackberry contracts by now.

there must be someone with info at blackberry, it's not rocket science

  • Voice recording prompt issue on blackberry tour.

    Hi guys,
I am facing an issue while doing the voice recording in midlet, the issue is as soon as i start the voice recording i get a prompt and the recording is stopped and after that i was not able to record anything.
This happens only in the Tour, i was succesfully recording the voice with the same code in other Blackberry devices.
if you say its because of signing my app is already signed with RIM sig keys.
    Waiting for your the response.
    thanks
    dc

I had another Blackberry from AT&T. It worked fine sometimes and sometimes it would lock up the speaker and microphone after recording something. So, you might be recording a voice note and it works. Next time it might not work and when you dial a number, the phone will ring but you cannot speak or hear and they cannot hear or speak. After a couple of hourse back and forth with AT&T, the solution was to return the phone. The new one was fine. Wife liked it so we dropped AT&T and got a USCC Blackberry Tour. So far, so good.

  • About the voice recorder for E72

I have several questions about the voice recorders for E72
    1. The default recorder in E72 can only recorder 60min each time. Sometime I want to recorder a lecture. It stoped automaticly at 1 hr. I am wondering whether I can change the record time longer.
    2. Another thing about the default recorder is that it can not recorder in background (When it is recording, you can not do anything else, can not touch any keys). The problem is that if you touched some keys during recording, it will stop recording. This is annoying.
    3. I heard that "Total Recall Call Recorder" can record in background. I tried the trial verson. I found that it seems not compatible with other audio apps, such as FM radio, music player, and vedio player. Is it right? When I start recording with Total Recall Call Recorder, I can not use FM radio, music player, and vedio player. This means that Total Recall can not record sound from FM radio. Right?
    4. I tried the trial version of Ultimate Voice Recorder, and found it can record sound from FM radio. If you use Ultimate Voice Recorder to record a phone call, is there any beep?
    Thank you very much!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Other companies should be coming out with products like this shortly. Some companies have said their product (a voice recorder) would be out in the beginning of april.
I don't remember the link though, so try searching google or the discussions for 5G iPod Voice Recorder

  • Does Blackberry have Free Instant Voice Recording and Transcription?

what i really would like is a portable device that can both record conversations and instantly transcribe them into a format that can be quickly and easily edited (the instant transcription doesn't have to be accurate) .. if the transcription can be edited by deleting or inserting more transcribed audio and if the editor permits audio playback of the transcribed file cued from places in the transcription, that would be a plus.
it would be ideal if these features can exist in a phone with a small, physical keyboard, gps. a camera, wifi, mass data storage capability and expandable memory. i almost purchased the Torch 9810 sight unseen until i realized that what i really wanted was a voice recorder + transcriber (i already have other devices for gps, photos and internet so if these features come with, that's a bonus).
does anyone know of any device/app like this on the market (i'm a complete noob when it comes to smartphones)?

Rather that iMovie, you may want to check our Audacity.
It's a free, open-source audio editor and recorder.
You can easily save a recording as an MP3.

  • Adobe Flash Player and Voice Recorder

    Hi,
I'm a new blackberry user and have a few questions...
I tried downloading the adobe flash player so I can play some videos online... but no luck... is this not possible? i downloaded the adobe player for mobile PC with no luck...
Another question is ... When recording on the voice recorder... it doesn't record anything... it saves and records... but when I play it... there's a sound of me pressing the "record" button and then nothing... am I doing something wrong?
    Thank you!

Flash player is not available for Blackberry devices. This means you won't be able to download any player from Adobe site.
Try having a soft reset (pulling battery out for 30 sec.) to your  device and then try voice recording.

  • Digital Voice Recorder for MAC?

I recently switched from PC to MAC and am very happy I did.
I just have 1 thing that still need to use my PC for - I use a digital recorder almost daily, and then email the recordings to different people.
I use a Sony so I can't use it on my MAC.
I am looking for a digital voice recorder that is as easy to use as my current one, I just plug it into my PC, open the software it came with, and it converts it to MP3 and then I attach it to the specified email and away it goes.
I tried an Olympus but the effort it would have taken to convert it to MP3 was ridiculous.
    I would love some suggestions...
    Thanks!
    Glenyce

I use an older Olympus myself, rather similar to this one, and though it records in WAV format rather than mp3 it is really pretty simple converting the files if you wish. The ones that Dave Sawyer links to look better for your purposes , though.
Sony make Mac compatible recorders which record directly into mp3 these days, too, though. See here, for example. Or this one.
eww's suggestion looks good , too.
There are a lot of choices out there. The best selection depends on what quality level you require for the recording, how important small size is, whether you will be using external mics, how much storage capacity you need, how much you are prepard to spend, etc etc. Might be easier to refine recommendations if you could provide a bit more info about such things.
    Cheers

  • IPod Touch for Voice Recording. Any Thoughts?

I have an iPod Touch and I love it. I am wondering if anyone has experience with using it as a voice recorder. I understand that I would have to buy a microphone adaptor, so I'd like to hear recommendations on which to buy. I will be using it to record lectures at college in relatively small rooms. I had used an Olympus digital voice recorder every semester until now. However I've lost it and before I buy a new one, I wanted to see if maybe I could add another use to my iPod Touch. The most important thing is that I can transfer the recordings to my computer as I like archive all lectures and labs.
    To summarize my questions:
    1. Is this even a good idea? Does anyone have experience doing this or something similar?
    2. What microphone adaptor would you recommend?
    3. What program(s) will be needed?
    4. Any other input is more than welcome.
    Thank you kindly, Apple site.
    -Vincent.

Heck yeah! I use mine all the time for recording voice memos! The built in app works perfectly fine for me although there are most likely tons on the app store. In terms of what mic to get, It doesn't matter as long as it is the 'passthrough' kind. Not that it has to have a headphone jack on it, but it has to have the 4 connectors on the male end that plugs into your iDevice. You can buy little tiny 'stub' microphones all over on ebay that will fit perfectly with little footprint, DOWNSIDE to those is that you can't plug in a pair of headphones at the same time (unless you're using the iPhone earbuds that have a built in mic, that kinda thing) Hope this helped! have fun!

  • How do I convert my old iPod into a voice recorder?

PART No. MA003FB/A iPod 60GB White Model A1136 Serial No. 4J547DUSSZA purchased in June 2007
iPod (5th generation)—also known as iPod with video or Fifth Generation iPod 2005/2010 click wheel.
(It is not a nano, shuffle or touch, it may be a classic or just an older iPod)
How do I turn this iPod into a voice recorder?  What do I need to buy and will I need to update the iPod software.

    Hi Patdean,
Yes, you can use your 5th Gen as a voice recorder. I used to do this with mine. You have to get an external microphone for it, and it has to be one that connects through the connector port, not through the headphone jack. Later generation ipods will take a mic in the headphone port, but not this one. There are several companies that make them, mine was a Belkin Tune Talk, and it worked really well. No additional software needed. To make a recording, use the wheel to go to "Extras", and plug in the mic. The voice memo recorder won't show up on your ipod until you plug in the microphone, and once it does, hit the record button, and you're good to go. Check on Amazon or someplace similar, I think these are still being made, but be sure to check compatability with your ipod, as not all dock connector microphones are compatible. Hope this helps!

  • Nomad Jukebox 3 voice record

Hi, I've been trying to get useful voice recording with my N. Jukebox 3. I'd like to have good recordings of my singing lessons. Using a good Sony mike I still get barely audible (on max volume) scratchy recordings. The range seems good but not enough volume and clarity to be useful. What is anyone else's experience? If not this unit is there an MP3 player with great recording performance? Thanks for any response, Robert

If you can find a used minidisk unit off eBay or similar for cheap, the preamp in those units can make for an excellent small, battery powered preamp for the JB3 line input.

  • Can Quicktime 4 be used as a voice recorder?

Can Quicktime version 4 be used as a voice recorder? If not what program that runs on a 68K Mac with OS 7.6 can be used? Please dont refer me to Google since thats where Ive been searching for the past hour!

No, QT Player 4 does not have recording functions.
Hit VersionTracker's Mac OS 8/9 listings and search for "audio record" or similar. There are several apps listed there.

  • Mac compatible Digital voice recorder

I'm looking to buy a Mac compatible Digital voice recorder for interviews (I'm a journalist). Needs are one that is easy and basic, where I don't need to download any software if possible. I'm going to be doing lengthy interviews and need something that can stand up to travel & length of time (about 2-3 hrs per interview). Thanks for an input. Apple store couldn't help.... thanks!

For a high quality portable audio recorder, I've been very happy with the Olympus LS-10, but it is more expensive that the ordinary voice recorder, on the order of $250USD. If you want quality, this has it. I am disappointed at the sound quality of the voice recorders I have tried. It's stereo, about the size of a pack of cigarettes (if anybody remembers that). The built-in microphones are not perfect for music (reduced bass and boosted highs), but are excellent for voice. The device records about 10 hours continuously on 2 AA batteries. It has tiny speakers and earphone jack, and an iPod-easy menu system. It requires no software to transfer files. You connect the USB cable to the Mac, and the recorder shows up on the desktop for you to move whatever files you wish. You can record in WAV, MP3 or WMA formats at several bit depths and sample rates to balance quality with file size.
There are many competing products (Sony, Tascam, Marantz, others) that have some similar characteristics, but I have no experience with them - except some Zoom products I tried were poor.

  • Audio/Voice Recorder for iPod [video] classic 160 GB Silver 6th Generation?

Hi, I'm looking for a voice recorder for my iPod, but I'm not sure which ones are compatible with my version, and which one is best.
i.e. Belkin TuneTalk, Griffin iTalk, etc. (I don't know which one is compatible, and then which one is best.)
This is the iPod I have:
Apple iPod classic 160 GB Silver (6th Generation)
    http://www.amazon.com/Apple-iPod-classic-Silver-Generation/dp/B000JO7RVC
I've been doing research on the matter, but due to conflicting reports, I am left in ultimate confusion.
So I thought it would be best to ask the experts.
    Thanks!

    tunetalk & classic: No way.
I am having endless trouble with Belikin Tunetalk stereo & IPOD classics.
I've asked Belkin & Apple & had nothing useful.
background: Been using Belkin tunetalk stereos (2) with 2 Ipod 5G (video) for more than a year. They work ok: [given the well know issues of harddrive noise picked up with internal microphones.]
Two modes available: "low" 22050 MONO & "high" 44100 Stereo
Had a ipod die on me, so upgraded to classics.
Recorded away, got nothing but 44100 MONO. Not supposed to be able to do this mode. & since I was recording TWO channels, I lost data. Belkin site says for classics only with the lastest software".
I've reflashed the ipods multiple times I one ipod records only mono (BLACK), the other (SILVER) records about 1 in 10 mono. Of course you can't tell till you're done whether you're going to get mono or stereo!
As iDude80n said about asking experts? Any one know if I go buy TWO MORE ipods, eg nanos, will these things actually work? Will post as separate question.

  • Simple voice recorder/save for curve 8320?

Can anyone recommend a simple voice recorder for the curve 8320 where I can record voice notes and save them directly to my phone instead of emailing/mms'n them using the built in send voice note feature on the phone?  I have tried using handango and their software sucks, stuff doesn't work and I tried the vr+ voice recorder program they have and don't like it, I just want something simple.
    Does it exist?

soon, a Handheld OS version 4.5 will be available for your carrier (if you're at AT&T it already is). Inside it there will be a video mode : you'll be able to take pictures like today, and also 3GP videos.
If you want, you can install it from AT&T and delete the vendor.xml file on your PC before launching the Desktop Manager to upload the OS on your Blackberry.
Apart from that, I can't install applications on my Blackberry so I lag a bit about available wonders other people can install on their Curve.

  • Is there a voice recording app for ipad that shares directly via iMessage (not just email) - like voice memos does on iphone?

Does any-one perhaps know whether there's a voice recording app for ipad that shares directly via iMessage (not just email) - like voice memo does on iphone?

You can't do anything in the background of iOS. Apps are still one at a time (with a few exceptions like Music), and suspend when the app is closed. It's also against the App Store guidelines to sell apps that would allow such actions.
Though, maybe you could get your Voice Memos saved to MP3's, which can play in the background of other apps.
