Ultra 10 and Creator 3D Configuration Help

Hi.
First post. Like so many others, I wanted to try Sun systems, so I got an Ultra 10 off eBay. I didn't have a 13W3 connector or monitor, so I pulled the Creator 3D card, and installed Solaris 9, using the built-in ATI video. Now that my 13W3 to HD15 adaptor has come in, I'm trying to get the 3D card back into the system, and I'm having trouble configuring it.
It took me a while to find out that FFBCONFIG is not in Solaris 9, (at least it doesn't show up in a "find file" search of local storage) and then a short time to learn about M64CONFIG. I ran the M64CONFIG from a terminal window in the CDE, and it seemed to take, but I still get the "Can't find driver for console framebuffer" error upon reboots after re-installing the 3D card. The system halts while trying to load X. Everything up to that point (with the exception of the above alert) seems correct, so I know it's just the card and the configuration. I know the card works, because on bootup, the Sun logo is different with the card in, as opposed to the ATI Sun logo, and, of course, I DO have video...
I used the M640 file with M64CONFIG and the -defaults option while configuring with the ATI card as my video source, because that's the only file in the directory, then re-installed the 3D. Did I miss a step somewhere?
Oh- I'm still a real Solaris newbie, so if you could answer in plain English, rather than a lot of UNIXSpeak it prevents my lips from moving while I'm reading and thus, not look like an idiot! :-)

Actually, that's my last resort. The reason I'm trying to avoid it is because this way, I get to learn how to do it the hardware way.
Perhaps you would be kind enough to anser one question on re-installing the OS: Were I to do that, will it overwrite all the files I have changed, and do a completely clean, new install? I had a devil of a time getting the workstation configured for internet access. I would have the ability to see the web, but only by IP addressing. DNS wasn't working, and a friend who's a Sun engineer changed one NIS file and got it working fine. Would that get overwritten? Also, I have downloaded several programs (Open Office, FireFox, etc.): Would those remain after a new OS install?

We'd set the default servlet to be the cluster servlet

Now, we wanted to serve the static files (images, html, js) from the wl
servers.
For our surprise, just putting the files on the wl servers was NOT doing the
job!
(We believed that the cluster first searches locally and only after that
looks on other hosts)
So we registered the images by file type
(weblogic.httpd.register.*.gif=weblogic.servlet.FileServlet
weblogic.httpd.register.*.jpg=weblogic.servlet.FileServlet)
Now, if we got images that are on the application servers, we can't get
these files!
Could someone please help how to set this configuration correctly?

Nothing happened, i managed to get my computer to recognise it and now restoring... but it says 3 hours remaining?! Will i lose everything?

KT4 Ultra and FastTrak 376 issues.

I recently purchased a KT4 Ultra and installed it on me computer. Everythings fine, it boots and the bios recognises my IDE devices. It won't allow me to enter the bios though and it just sits there with the screen displaying this.

NEVER HAPPENED TO ME. TRY DISCONNECTING ALL IDE DEVICES, CLEAR THE CMOS AND PRESS DEL BEFORE THE PROMISE BIOS LOADS.
MAYBE YOU'LL GET INSIDE TO DEACTIVATE IT FROM LOADING AT INTEGRATED PERIPHERALS - ONBOARD PCI CONTROLLER - SEARIAL ATA CONTROLLER.
DO YOU HAVE AN SATA HDD? YOU COULD USE ONE FOR TRYING TO SETUP AN ARRAY IN THE PROMISE BIOS (BY PRESSING CTRL+F AND THEN CHOOSE THE AUTO CONFIGURATION). AFTER THAT MAYBE YOU CAN ENTER THE BIOS.
YOU CAN ALSO TRY TO FIND AN MODDED BIOS FOR THE KT4-ULTRA THAT DOES NOT LOAD THE PROMISE SATA BIOS BY DEFAULT.

Troubleshooting Enterprise Beas, Netbeans 5.0 and Creator 2

Hi Gurus. I am using Netbeans 5.0 to develop Enterprise Beans and Creator 2 to consume the beans, as a database I use Oracle 10g xe and Sun Application Server 8.2 as a App. Server (Not the one embedded in creator). I successfully created an enterprise bean with methods that create and get data in Netbeans 5.0 and also I am able to test them with a servlet without troubles. I consume the enterprise bean in creator, then I use it in a web page, after that I deployed into a remote server (8.2) all the application, but when I try to insert or get the data I get this Exception:

Am I doing something wrong in creator? did I miss a step configuring the bean? I followed the instructions in all the tutorials available to add and use Enterprise Beans. if I am able to use a enterprise bean in Netbeans 5.0 to insert and obtain data, Why I am not able to use it in Creator? Thanks for your help man. That was a very good advice. I rebuild everything in the application server bundled in creator, debugged and the the real problem appeared. I didn't take care about the size of data that I was willing to store in the jsp page. I was using toString() method to get the data from the text fields and after debugging I figured out is needed getText().toString() to get data form the fields, everything was out bout bounds. Now the application works fine. You save my life!!! How do I assign you the Duke dollars?

X201 vs X201s and external monitor, please help

I am about to order my first thinkpad and have 2 questions and would greatly appreciate your thoughts
I need a machine that is fast enough to handle huge data files quickly.
1. Not sure whether to go for:
X201 with i7-620M processor 2.66GHz, 8Gb RAM and 128Gb SSD
or the slower but lighter
X201s with i7-640LM processor 2.13GHz again with 8Gb RAM and 128Gb SSD
2. When working at home and work i hope to connect to a ~24" monitor (1920 x 1080)
I have been informed by lenovo sales people today
"the x201 will only support a maximum resolutionof 1280 x 800"
Is this the case, how will it effect my use of a large external monitor?
I do note that the x201s seems to support 1440 x 900 and would be happy to buy an ultra base for work and home if that helps?

I had the same concerns when trying to decide between the two models.
In the end I went with the X201 -with the i7-620M proc.
My reasoning is that, sure the performance difference between the two processors may not be that big, but I'm future-proofing the machine just a little bit more at only a marginal additional cost.
As for battery-life - my laptop spends most of the day plugged in, so the benefits of the lower voltage processor and lower power consumption wouldn't be that great.
I bike in to work every day with the laptop on my back, so weight and size were important issues for me. The laptops are the same size. With the 6 cell battery they're both 1.1" thick. Only if you slap on the 4cell does the x201s become thinner. The x201 does weigh about a quarter pound more when configured with the 6 cell. (3.1 lbs as opposed to 2.8 or so) I was willing to make that tradeoff for better performance.
As for the video output - I haven't plugged the x201 into my home monitor: 24" , but its performing beautifully on my 20" office monitor @ 1680x1050.

There are a number of things that can cause this, such as:
DNS is misconfigured to support a parent-child-additional tree forest.
Incorrect DNS zone replication scope for the design, which points back to the point #1.
AD Sites are misconfigured for the physical environment. For example if you have a hub and spoke physical environment, you can't use the default settings that bridge all sites (BASL) and must individually configure them.
Incorrect DNS settings on the DCs.
Multi-homed DCs.
Time service is not configured properly and/or syncing from the VM host, which should be configured otherwise (Microsoft, VMware and Citrix have KBs explaining this).
Default security settings at either the parent, child or both domains, have been altered.
Firewalls between DCs, such as perimeter firewalls, or installed antivirus protection features if not excluded on DCs properly, will cause this, too.
That's the short list. If you can describe some of the points above, it may help us pinpoint where the issue may be.

Dear All,
I am trying to configure SFTP (seeburger) in sap PI.
I want to know how to connect SFTP adapter of seeburger with an SSH sever. (I have installed free SSH Server in my laptop).
How to connect using SFTP SETTING as
AUTHENTICAION Method: Private Key authorisation
how to generate/use private key.

Dear All,
I have installed SSH server and genreated the RSA key in Visual admin and i have configured the SFTP adater properly.
Now i have a different issue.
In Communication channel monitoring once i start the channel(SFTP) i am not getting any message. Its just saying Channel started and thats it. nothin else is coming. not even throwing any error. what should i do. why its happing like that.
I Tried with Authentication mode as Private Key as well as Password. in both configurations are proper.
also i tried refreshing the cache..no use.

Thus, on my side, I think that :
Explicit join define the join condition between the key column from the table.
(table1.di = table2.id)
While
Implicit Join define :
* the type of join outer, inner, ...

857 Wireless configuration help

Can someone help me with a wireless setup of an 857. I have done this in the past but can't remember the details. Basically I want very simple setup with WPA-PSK. The SDM interface is very confusing and I could do with the basic CLI for this.

Export and Import of Configuration Data

Hi All,
I have created a number of custom properties, structures, groups, renderers, layout sets etc and would like to move them from Dev to Test system.
I have found the following in the help doco:

However I am unable to see its functionality in our portal systems (namely the Actions->Export and Actions->Import functions).
Our version of Portal is: 6.0.9.6.0
KM: 6.0.9.3.0 (NW04 SPS09 Patch3)
Therefore we should be able to see it? no?
Are there any special settings to see these buttons?

Thanks for your replies.
OK, so in otherwords, it is not available in SP09 and only in SP12+.
So, to "transport" this information I will have to manually reapply thes settings in the Test system!

how to create custom infotype and how to configure with its subtypes. when i am creating infotypes i am not getting how to configure subtypes.
plz help me for this with an example code.

Hi Kiran,
Please fallow the below steps to create the custom infotype. If you have any quires let me know.
For Creation of Infotype first Go to Transaction PM01, Enter the custom Infotype number which you want to create, it should be a 4 digit number and have to start with 9xxx.
then select the `Employee Infotype' radio button
after that select the `PS Structure Infotype'
then click on Create A separate table maintenance window appears
then Create a PS structure with all the fields you want on the infotype
Save and Activate the PS structure
now Go back to the initial screen of PM01
Click on `All' push button. It takes a few moments
Click on `Technical Characteristics. Infotype list screen appears
Click on `Change'(pencil) button
Now select your Infotype and click on `Detail' (magnifying glass) button
Give `T591A' as subtype table & also Give `T591S' as subtype txt tab
Give your subtype field as subtype field & Save and come back to PM01 initial screen
Click on `Infotype Characteristics' Infotype list screen appears
Click on `Change' (pencil) button & on New Entries
and then Enter your Infotype number and short text Here we have to set different Infotype Characteristics as per the requirement. (Better open another session with some standard Infotype's infotype characteristics screen and use as the reference
to fill yours). Now save ur entries
Now the Infotype is created and ready to use.
If you want to change the layout of the Infotype as per your
requirement
In the PM01 initial screenSelect `Screen' radio button and give
2000 as the screen name, then click on edit.
In the next screen.. Select `Layout Editor' and click `Change'.
Screen default layout appearshere you can design/modify the
screen..change the attributes of the fields..etc.
Save and activate. (Don't forget to `Activate at every level)

Reg : Milestone / Periodic and RRB Billing Configuration.

Hi SAP Gurus
we are integrating SD-PS to get back revenues on the project automatically. We are using WBS element as a real object at the item level of the Sales Order. There are going to be three kinds of Billing types: Periodic, Milestone and RRB (T&M and Travel). So we probably need an Order type and Item categories for different billing types. Travel expenses needs to be part of the Sales Order. For RRB, DIP profile needs to be configured to capture no. of hours worked on the project and travel expenses.
Please let me know what are things needs to be configured for this process. and how to configure the Milestone/ Periodic and RRB billing type.
