Ultra 10 NO DISPLAY

We received No Display problem in Ultra 10 workstation. We Replaced Several Boards, whenever we replaced Board it was working 1 week or 1 month.After that it makes same problem. Some times it gives DATE error also, I need permanent solution for this problem. I checked power supply, it s working fine and giving correct voltage ratings.

The Sun systems have a 25 pin female RS-232 connector while PCs have a 9 pin male connector. If you buy a Null-Modem cable you'll usually only find cables with 9-pin plugs on both ends.
If you want to solder the cable yourself you do not need to solder a "complete" Null-Modem cable; a so-called 3-wire cable is enough.
The pinning is:
PC (9 pin female)               SUN (25 pin male)
    2 (RX) ------------------------ 2 (TX)
    3 (TX) ------------------------ 3 (RX)
    5 (GN) ------------------------ 7 (GN)Typically the SUN has the following serial port settings:
9600 bauds, 8 bits/byte, no parity, 1 stop bit

  • Setting to use only middle portion of ultra wide display in order to get traditional width-to-height ratio

    For the software I use most, like word processor and terminal emulator, a more
    squarish display is much easier to view than the ultra-wide display I recently
    purchased (somewhat by mistake). Everything has become very stretched out
    lengthwise and is very difficult to read. Is there some setting in Windows8
    to use only the central portion of the display in order to get the same
    height-to-width ratio of older monitors?  Thanks.

    Hi,
    Meanwhile, I suggest you view the manufactre website or contact their supprt to check if there's a Display Manager to optimize your media presentation and maximize your monitor’s state such as Easy Arrange and Auto mode, usually there should be such kind
    of manager for an ultra wide monitor.

  • Why would i get a thunderbolt display instead of Dell's 24″ ultra-HD display, the UP2414Q.

    I'm searching for a display to hook up to my macbook for more room to work.  I've heard the thunderbolt isn't the way to go right now because it hasn't been updated since it came out three years ago.  What are your thoughts on the display and if you don't use the thunderbolt what other display do you use? I've heard a lot of good things about Dell's 24" ultra-HD display UP2414Q. Also, has anybody heard anything on when they will come out with the new updated thunderbolt?

    I have purchased the display screen today after been using my dell 24 inch monitor for the past 2 years
    I know it is pricey but i have to say it is worth every penny. I use my macbook to produce music so everytime when i come back home and hook it up, i have to plug in my power charger, firewire, usb external drive, usb hub, thunderbolt to DVI display and it makes my desk really messy.
    Now i have got everything plugged in to my monitor which is neatly stored behind and all i have to do is plug in the thunderbolt cable and I am all set up, plus it comes with a charging cable which i think is brilliant!
    The screen has been out for 3 years but the quality is absolutely stunning! yea it cost a lot more than other 24 - 27 inch screens but i think it is worth every penny in my case.
    If you just use your macbook for simple stuff like serving the net then it is probably not worth getting

  • FX5900 Ultra Dual Display Problems

    I have replaced a Matrox 550 Card with an FX 5900 Ultra in our Video Edit suite computer. We have tried all ways to get it to run on two identical IIyama Computer Monitors without any luck. The installation Drivers & Utilities CD was missing from the carton on delivery and we have downloaded what we could from MSI Website, but the installation software doesn't seem to be available there to download. Can anybody help as to why we cannot get the second display to turn on?

    Well usually nvidia's detonators perform the best for nvidia chipset based graphics cards, those also include the support for multiple displays (just as long as your graphics card supports it)
    It should all be in display properties, set the right monitor types and stuff at advanced and then configure the primary and secondary monitor

  • Need help with a 4K Ultra-HD Display, connected to a T530

    Hi guys,
    the T530 is equipped with an intel HD4000 and a nVidia NVS5400 graphics adapter.
    I already found out in this post, that the Display Port (of the comparable T430S) is 1.1 and that instead 1.2 is needed for 4K support.
    Has anyone got better news for me, or is the desired 4K-signal stuck inside the Thinkpad forever?
    Thank you for your support!

    Your MBA should be able to detect the printer and locate the driver, install it and mount the printer. I have an HP5180 color all in one, which I have connected to my Windows PC, and my MBA sees it and prints to it just fine. Have you looked to see if Brother has a Mac driver for it?

  • Is the HiDPI fix available for older versions? (Was: Dreamweaver UI Issues with Hi Res Displays...)

  • Is there support yet for PC high DPI displays?  I see there is support for Apple....

    Have been a user of Photoshop Elements for many years.  Presently have version 12, which is unusable on my Dell XPS 15" with 4K Ultra HD display.  I found a statement somewhere on Adobe's site that there is support for HiDPI displays from Apple, but no mention of Windows machines.  Scaling, changing resolution, etc. doesn't help - the icons are tiny and can't be seen by my eyes without squinting or a magnifying glass.  I don't want to switch programs but will if support isn't there for displays like mine that are more common every day.....

    Yes, in PSE 13 but definitely do the trial first to see if it works well for your display.

  • The Crew –Racing with Your Coolest MSI Gaming Motherboard and Graphics Card

    Most gaming fans are crazy about racing games, and there is a new game title just launched to fulfill gamers’ dream. We want to share with you the experience from Taiwan user who assembles a rig with a brand new MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard and 960 graphics card, along with a hardware and game (The Crew) benchmarks. You may find the original article from:
    https://forum-tc.msi.com/index.php?topic=113352.0
    The Crew - Launch Trailer
    PC configuration:
    CPU: Intel i5-4670K
    RAM: Avexir DDR3-1600 8G*2
    VGA: MSI GTX960 GAMING 2G
    SSD: Kingston HyberX 3K SSD 240G
    CPU Cooler: SilverStone AR01
    The MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard box
    Overview of the motherboard: Black and Red color scheme, it’s also the favorite color combination from MSI’s user reservation.
    The PCI-E slots and bandwidth are enough for a two-way SLI setting.
    Killer Ethernet, outstanding performance on internet access, especially reduce the lag issue.
    The new arrival MSI GTX960 GAMING 2G graphics card
    New cooling design: ZeroFrozr
    The dragon symbol on LED panel
    With MSI Gaming series motherboard plus graphics card, you can enable a Gaming App to overclock CPU and GPU. There are 3 modes to choose.
    6-month free trail of the XSplit game caster software, free bundled with MSI gaming motherboard and graphics card
    Done with assembling, quiet nice color combination and clean cable arrangement.
    An overview of the very gaming look system.
    Some benchmark results before racing with The Crew.
    CPU and GPU info on CPU-Z and GPU-Z applications:
    3DMark Fire Strike score: 6441
    3DMark Fire Strike Extreme score: 3384
    3DMark Fire Strike Ultra score:1262
    The excel performance proof the brand new 960 graphics card comes with good a high Cost/Performance Value.
    Now, check out this test benchmark score of the renowned game “The Crew”.
    The game presents an ultra-quality display, 60 Frames Per Second (FPS)
    FPS: Average frames is at:
    Frames: 3859 - Time: 76828ms - Avg: 50.229 - Min: 43 - Max: 56
    The comments of the game for your reference:
    There are many types of missions that can be chosen from the America’s map.
    Street racing, high-speed collision, breakaway from police, sky jumps, zigzagging, etc… make the game quite dynamic.
    Now, when it comes to multi-player matches, the performance has exceeded expectations. Perhaps, it is the killer Ethernet that’s working the magic. Thus, this game is highly recommended if you have the right rig.
    The downside is that the display intricacy is not as refined as GTA V and in addition, the game FPS is limited at 60 FPS. However, the overall gaming flow and performance is better than good.
    The user's comment for using MSI Gaming 5 motherboard and 960 graphics card:
    (The following commends are translated from user’s article, does not represent the viewpoint of MSI) ^^
    Recently, MSI GTX 960 just launched so the initial price tag is still adjustable.
    According to the current product line, it seems like this GPU is going to replace 750Ti. So once all the stocks (750Ti) at the store empties, we are most likely to see a price drop on GTX960.
    Once the price hits the sweet spot, it’s time to try out GTX960 SLI’s performance.
    The CP value on MSI GTX960 and GAMING 5 MB is pretty high. But the XSplit software that comes with the product is a bit annoying since the authentication steps are divided into 2 parts to go through for using it.
    Enough said, anyways, GAME ON!

    NVIDIA 960 card  + GAMING 5 motherboard = best bundle for budget gaming!
    it would be nice to see more testing of hardware-demanding games!

    My Mac Book Pro was really slow at everything and would kick me out of my photos every time i got on them. now it won't even allow me to log on. i put my password in and the screen will flash white and go back to the login page. HELP please...

    There is nothing wrong with your Dell, it will work fine with any MacbookPro. I have been using Dell displays for over 12 years with many different Mac models. I have two 21" Ultra Sharp displays working side by side to design a Keynote presentation right now.
    The issue your having is with the way Keynote  takes control of the video output to both displays, it sends the presentation signal to one and the presenter display to the other, this is set up in;
    Keynote preferences > Presenter display.
    If you want to show a wesite or another app on  either display,  use application switcher:
    press the the  command key on the keyboard, then the tab key; a row of applications will show what applications are running, choose which one you want to show. Use command  > tab to return to Keynote.

  • MacBook Pro (early 2008) + Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital Clamshell Problem

    Hi there,
    I got a problem with my MBP and Matrox's TripleHead2Go Digital. This device connects to the MBPs DVI Port and splits the Video Signal into 3 equal parts to show them on 3 19" displays. It pretends there is only ONE ultra-widescreen display present with a res of 3840x1024. Hooking it up and gettings things to work is pretty easy. The only problem that occured is:
    As long as my MBP is open with it's display being turned on I get a clear signal on my "ultra-widescreen display". Unfortunately though if I go into clamshell mode (either booting the MBP closed lid or later on closing it and then waking it via an external keyboard) "the" external display does NOT work as the refresh rate the MBP pumps out it too high at 75Hz. (The displays only support 60Hz).
    When I then reactivate the internal display pressing CMD+F2 the external is working again with the correct 60Hz. Unfortunately though it does not work with the interal display being off.
    To fix this I already tried deleting the corresponding plists in /library/Preferences (com.apple.windowserver.plist), entries in /System/Library/Displays and all display entries in /Users/Name/Library/Preferences and /Users/Name/Library/Preferences/ByHost
    Deleting these entries and rebooting afterwards solved the issue about once every ten attempts or so.
    Is there any better solution to achieving the correct refresh rate while operating in clamshell mode i.e. closed lid?!
    Thanks for your help!

    Yes, you are right, it's too old.
    Maybe it's time for a new macbook pro.
    Thank you very much

  • Liquid  layout CSS

    Hello,
    I want the content part of my website run the length of the
    borwser but have the page background at the top and bottom of
    content. (basically have the webpage appear as a banner the middle
    of the screen ontop of a tiled bakground)
    I have been experimenting and found if I put the left margin
    -10pixels that side of the webpage appears as desired (body div
    meets edge) but I can not work out how to make the right side do
    the same.
    Can some one suggest a tutorial that would help me with this
    layout or offer me some helpful advice.
    Thank you,
    Shontelle

    Liquid Layouts (% based) are not the easiest bad boys to work with.  They become an unruly mess on ultra wide and ultra narrow displays.
    Example of the Ugly. Resize viewport to 400px.
    http://alt-web.com/TEMPLATES/3-col-liq-layout.shtml
    The solution. http://alt-web.com/TEMPLATES/3-col-semi-liq-layout.shtml
    Add min- and max-widths to your body.  This is called a semi-liquid layout.

    So just picked up a Yoga 2 Pro 13 from bestbuy, they had it marked down since a newer model was out but im thinking about returning it.
    My model has the QHD+ display and I use photoshop and dreamweaver a lot but the whole resolution and scaling thing seems to just not work well with every application. In order to use the apps I need I have to bump the resolution down to 1080 which is fine but then text is blurry and hard to read no what I do with the settings.
    Im really dissapointed to be honest. The screen also has a small amount of light bleed in the corners and I have one "unkown device" in control panel even though all the drivers are installed and up to date.
    The replaement model that Best Buy carries is a regular 1080 display and a 500gb hybrid drive instead of hte SSD like this one has.
    I wanted to like this laptop so much but what where they thinking with putting a display like that inside this thing.
    The sccling issues is not the fault of the laptop or Windows 8, It is the Software manufacturers that has not implemented support for the Ultra high displayes. Yes, it can be a pain and difficult to read.
    I had a driver issue also, perhaps not the same as you, but I think uninstalling it and rebooting fixed it. I think it had to do with bluetooth, intel has updated driver on their site (Intel 7260 N Bluetooth/ WiFi combo card)
    You may consider the Yoga 2 13 (non pro version), it has a 1080P display and is a bit thicker. I comes with an 500GB HDD, and I don't know if there is an SSD option. No SSD would be a deal breaker for me, I would want to upgrade it to SSD if I went that route.

  • Having been trying this forever need help

    Ok so I need help and this may sound like a stupid question but I am beyond trying to figure this out.
    So trying to set up a new webpage how do you go about setting it so it opens on anyones computer the same size?  I have used the html templates in dreamweaver...and thats great but I am trying to expand my experience and try more things....
    I am using CS4 and I really need some good help...
    Thanks

    You do it with CSS code.
    For a Liquid Layout that fills browser viewport.
    body {
    width: 100%;
    For a Semi-Liquid layout that fills viewport with restrictions to keep the layout from looking ridiculous on ultra wide or ultra small displays.
    body {
    width: 100%;
    min-width: 800px;
    max-width: 1280px;
    Fixed-width and centered on all displays greater than 990px.
    body {
    width: 990px;
    margin: 0 auto;
    Adjust numbers to match your target audience.

  • Images Stretched

    My client has a wide screen and he is saying the images look strectched on his computer but he wants everything to be a fluid layout so I put everything in % except for a couple of images and he still says it looks stretched. Any suggestions besides giving up on web design because I am coming close to! Here is a link gologisticsusa.com

    % based layouts tend to look really terrible on ultra wide and ultra narrow displays.  That's why major web sites (Google, CNN, Smashing Magazine) don't do fluid sites.
    The trend these days is Responsive with CSS layouts optimized for:
    a) desktop/laptops,
    b) tablets,
    c) smartphones.

  • Any ideas on buying a extra monitor for Macbook?

    I was wondering if anyone has used a second monitor for a Macbook Pro.  I kind of really like more room space for all the stuff I do on it.  The only thing though, I really would like it to be under $300.00 (or around that).  I have heard good things about the dell ultra sharp display and the Thunderbolt display by apple.
    If this will help, I am looking for a display that would easy to do homework on.  I would want it to be responsive to, because I do use Photoshop often (and other image editing tools)
    would appreciate a advice!

    I would not have any current suggestions ... I am running on two monitors that are at least 2 years old.
    I can only tell you that if it looks good to your eyes it should look good at home.  Displays in the 20 in range can be had for under $300 even in LG and Samsung.
    And both LCD and LED 20 in displays are usially light.

  • Where to put an AGP card for my G5?

    I have a Power G5 at work, and I need an AGP graphics card to use Final Cut Pro. The problem is that this G5 only has a PCI card. When I went online to look at manuals to figure out what kind of card I needed and where it should go, I became very confused because all of the info on the Apple support site says that Slot 1 for graphics card can ONLY take AGP cards and that all the other slots are PCI. My G5 has a PCI card in Slot 1.
    If I do get an AGP card, where the heck am I supposed to put it?

    Either the G5s have AGP cards in the bottom slot or (in the case of the last iteration of the machine, a PCI-express card in the bottom slot) and most will support FCP no problem, the AGP exception, probably, would be the GeFarce 5200, which is seriously underpowered.
    Go to the Apple Menu and select "About this Mac" and then click the "More Info" button, which will give you a System Profiler window. Under the Hardware section in Contents, select Graphics-Displays and report the information here and we can help you decide whether you are OK (you probably are, absent the aforementioned "monkey with crayons" 5200 card). You should see something like this display with your specifics:
    *NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL:*
