Ultra nav mouse left key moves incorrectly

Ultra nav mouse left key moves incorrectly or it may be broken. It is still in place however the left key rocks to the left and sticks, causes erratic reactions. Can this be fixed? I have lifted the right edge of the key up, cleaned, and adjusted the wire placement to no avail.
Thank you for any ideas.

What I suspect is happening here is an error with relative positioning, ie. when I move the right thumbstick left it's setting the cursor to an extremely low value, say -100,000 and therefore when I move it right because the minimum value is supposed to be -32768 it has to surpass that value before actually visibly moving right.
Does anybody know how I could track the actual x,y co-ordinates of the cursor to establish if this is happening?
Edit: enabled log statements in xboxdrv config. My theory has proved incorrect. I'm stumped.

  • Ultra nav Driver T440s Mouse Jumps/bounces on left click

    We are pretty new to Lenovo and have ordered a number of new T440s machines to replace a few aging Dell machines.
    I am facing a pretty major issue for all my users where the mouse jumps or moves around everytime you try to left click on something!  The only way to left click is to very carefully press straight down with a finger. u If you try and use your thumb or the fat part of your finger to left click the mouse goes crazy!! I am running version 17.0.12.56 of the driver.  Is there anyway to have the bottom left corner ignore movement on the trackpad for a split second after it is depressed?  All my users like to use there thumb in the bottom left corner to left click.  I like the ability to left click anywhere on the trackpad but there needs to be a way to define the bottom left corner as a left click in order to be able to use your thumb or fat finger and not have the mouse freak out.

    Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem of turning on the touchpad. Every time I restart the computer, it reverts to having the pad on. I am now using driver version 16.2.19.7, the updated one was 16.2.19.14. This is at least better than that!

    You should also ask this in the MacBook Air forum. This is the forum for the white and black plastic MacBooks that were discontinued in 2010. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer.

    My macbook pro is running very slow with some strange mouse and window movements. The trackpad is very unresponsive and when responding the cursor moves on its own and/or very erratically. When on safari the window suddenly zooms in or highlights words and looks them up via dictionary. I currently have a wireless mouse connected and I am still having the same problems.
    I fee like I may have a virus or my laptop is perhaps being accessed remotely. All of the sharing options are unchecked.
    HELP PLEASE
    Very worried!!

    Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
         Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
         COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
         after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
         Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
         Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
    Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).

  • I've been working on this for hours... Solaris works but mouse won't move

    Edit: I should go ahead and say that I've looked at EVERY tutorial and guide and post I could find all over google, for literally hours. If you know how to fix this, I'm begging you to help me.
    I have a Dell Dimension 8200, 256 MB RAM, Nvidia Geforce3 Ti 200 video card. The settings that appear when I press the "enter" button on the moniter say 640X480 with H.F.: 31.53 KHz and V.F.: 60.09 Hz.
    For the keyboard and mouse:
    Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard 1.1 ( Model 1014 ), Microsoft Standard Wireless Optical Mouse. Both of which wirelessly connect to the computer through the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Receiver 2.1, which is simply plugged into the computer into the first USB slot.
    My keyboard and mouse came from the same box, so they should both work...but only one does. Both worked on Windows XP, without installing any extra drivers, so it is not a hardware issue.
    I'm using Xorg. Xsun graphics won't work for me--they come up as green and black scattered text. I ran the xorgconfig and xorg.conf was automatically placed in /etc/X11/. So, I assume that was done correctly... I chose Auto for Mouse Detection, the default mouse driver /dev/mouse/, Generic English 104-key for the keyboard, no for 3-button-emulation, no for special settings, yes for card selection ( I chose #19 Nvidia, #350 Nvidia Geforce will not work. ), #3 for Moniter selection, 640x800 for all options, and 16 bit I believe for all options.
    I then rebooted, and the GUI worked fine and the keyboard worked fine. I logged in and got to the desktop, where I was prompted with some windows. The mouse pointer graphic was on the screen, but I couldn't get the mouse to work. I moved the mouse ( hardware ) back and forth repeatedly, despite my efforts the pointer simply stayed at the center of the screen.
    It's almost humorous, right before I can read the keyboard shortcuts for Solaris manual while navigating the subchapters with the tab button and selecting them with the enter button( it was on the first layer of the windows that popped up so I could see it without needing to click on it ), the Solaris Registration window pops up a minute or two afterwards blocking out the other windows. I can navigate with the tab button in this window as well, yet the enter key does not have the authority to hit the buttons. My only option is to use a mouse...but wait--the mouse does not move!
    SO TO THE POINT! Why won't my mouse work?!
    I am completely new to UNIX based systems, so Solaris is my first one. I'm used to Windows XP, so just to let you know -- when UNIX commands are mentioned, you're speaking in gibberish to me. If I need to edit any files, please clearly explain how to do so--if I need to use a UNIX text editor etc., and what-not. Because as of now, I can only edit the files with the console.
    Oh great...now this is appearing when I reboot:
    WARNING - The following files in / differ from the boot archive:
    /etc/path_to_inst
    cannot find: /etc/devices/mdi_ib_cache: No such file or directory
    The recommended action is to reboot and select "Solaris failsafe"
    option from the boot menu. Then follow prompts to update the boot archive.
    To continue booting at your own risk, clear the service:
    # svcadm clear system/boot-archive
    Jul 31 16:04:33 svc.startd[7]: svc:/system/boot-archive:default:
    Method "/lib/svc/method/boot-archive" failed with exit status 95.
    [ system/boot-archive:default failed fatally (see 'svcs -x' for deatails) ]
    Requesting System Maintenance Mode
    (See /lib/svc/share/README for more information.)
    Console login service(s) cannot run
    What is going on?

    Okay I fixed it on my own by reconfiguring Xorg with a new mouse.
    If anyone else somehow encounters this problem in the future, it seems like there isn't a driver for the Microsoft Wireless Optical mouse. If there is one, it doesn't come with the basic installation. Though, the keyboard works fine. The new mouse I got was a PS/2 Optical three-button mouse. It's pretty much your generic computer mouse.

  • Error in Right-to-Left Jmenu movement

    Hi everybody,
    I started using Java 1.5 recently, I found that it does not behave correctly regarding arrow key movements in right-to-left orientation (up,down, left and right), as the following piece of code shows:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import java.util.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class test14 extends JFrame {
      JMenuBar  jmenubar = new JMenuBar();
      JMenu     Jmenu;

        this.setSize(max_size.width,max_size.height);
        this.setLocation(1,1);

    Thank you for considering this issue!
    Yes, I think this solution is sufficient to resolve it.

  • When working mouse will randomly move even when I'm not moving it

    When working on my computer my mouse will randomly move even when I'm not moving it. It is like I have a ghost mouse that is moving across the screen by itself. I checked and made sure screen sharing isn't on. It occurs randomly from what I can tell. It happened twice tonight where I'm on a window with my hand on the mouse and the cursor will move up to the top of the screen and then to the very left (which will turn on my screen saver). I will make me feel better if someone has seen this to. It happens very quickly and I can get control of my mouse. I have seen this off and on for a while. Anyone else?

    I have the same issue.
    It is a wired Mighty Mouse on a 24" iMac. My Macbook Pro with Wireless Mighty Mouse has never had an issue that I can recall, only the desktop.
    It's pretty **** annoying to be fencing something in on Photoshop and suddenly your mouse is up in the corner of the screen and you've selected half your picture.
    Anyone have any thoughts? What are the common denominators here?

  • Problem wih left key in n78

    hi my friends
    sorry,i cant speak English well
    i have problem with  my n78
    i buying n78 yesterday
    the left key not work
    revert to factory default settings and upgrade firmware but  not responseplease help me

    Just to clarify, are you referring to Alt Space bar left click and drag for zoom?  If yes, then that needs 'Use GPU' enabled in Preferences > Performance.  So can you check that? It actually works with either Ctrl or Alt together with the space bar. Left mouse click and drag left and right to zoom in and out.
    If GPU is checked, can you try some different settings?

    You should also make sure the video card driver is fully up to date, and from the card maker's web site.

    in the previous version  of Number, the menu table in table options, there is an option that gives me the option: the Return key moves to next cell. I do not see this option in the new number. can you help me please?

    Hi silvano,
    If you use a regular pattern when entering values, press enter (return) after entering the last value in a row. That will take you to the first Body Cell of the next row.
    Start in Cell B2
    1 Tab 2 Tab 3 Enter
    4 Tab 5 Tab 6 Enter
    7 Tab 8 Tab 9 Enter
    Now you are ready to type into B5 .
    Another way that some people find easier is to enter one column at a time
    Start at B2
    1 enter
    4 enter
    7 enter
    etc.
    Now start with C2.
    Use whatever suits your work flow.
    Regards,
    Ian.

    Hey mate the keys are faulty nothing can fix it except for buying a new Replacement! , i fixed the problem simply by Replacing the KEYBOARD !  i went downtown and looked for a g580 keyboard and they didnt exactly have the same version g580 they had c or b580 i dont remmber what letter it was sorry ! but the thing is the whole keyboard layout of many Lenovo Laptops are the same just look one thats the same, cause mine wasnt for G580 but the thing is its still working perfectly ! only problem is the Screws didnt fit i had to cut out the sides of the screw hole thingies to make the keyboard fit in well in my G580 , Simply put all you need is a new keyboard replacement buy one they cost between 20-40$ worth it cause you wont have any faulty keys anymore evrything will work fine. no need to reinstall anything just replace it with new Keyboard. and Plus its easy to replace it by yourself. i replaced mine by myself easily. I believe you just set up to receive all mouse click events regardless of which mouse button the user clicked. When you get the MouseEvent object, call its getModifiers method to get an indication of which mouse button was pressed. Check the javadocs for MouseEvent, paying particular attention to "the button mask in the modifer field"
