Ultra slow motion

Can someone tell my how the **** this man can make so much slow motion with a GoPro HD 720p, 60 fps videocamera?
I don't understand it.
Its 100% filmed with 60 fps, but how can he do this?
Its about 4:50 in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQV9jUgvj30&feature=mfuinorder&list=UL

conform the 60p to 24p in Cinema tools. If you want it slower, use Motion to retime with the optical flow setting. You should be able to slow it down 5x from the original 60p with good clarity if you edit the material on a 23.98 timeline.

  • Slow motion in final cut pro..help!

    hey guys,
I'm trying to do an ultra slow motion scene for a video, a pill dropping into a glass of water. i'm shooting it with a canon 7d at 60 FPS and for some reason i'm getting this awful warping...not smooth at all. i uploaded a video to show you what kind of result i was getting: http://vimeo.com/37878559
also, i'm using twixtor...maybe there is a better alternative to accomplish this shot through final cut pro without using a 3rd party plug-in such as twixtor? please help!

  • My i7 sandy bridge with optibay harddrive is running slow in diablo 3 in low setting. Before I can run ultra settings on Starcraft. It lags now even I run log in sc2!!! It gets slower and slower in game that is like slow motion!!! Computer gets hot.

Hi everyone, I been noticing my MacBook pro getting very slow in games like diablo 3 and Starcraft. This MacBook pro was bought a year ago. It is running i7 sandy bridge with a 128 Ssd. I did install optibay with a monetux xt hard drive in it.
It could run ultra setting on Starcraft no problem and is very smooth when I first got it. Lately I got diablo 3, and it gets very slow. I had to change all the graphics setting to low. It is not slow in the beginning, but it gets very slow after a while. It is like slow motion!!! Even when is low, it is still very laggy in game. I tried to repair the disk and clean up the laptop with onyx and still doing the same thing. I even try to reboot when is slow, but same thing after I reboot. I guess the MBP still hot.
Also I am running in lion!

If it's a 13" MBP you don't have the more powerful dedicated graphics and there is nothing you can do but be mad at Apple for deceiving you that the 13" MacBook Pro was capable of extreme graphics.
Only the 15" and 17" have the more powerful dedicated graphics in addition to the CPU graphics.

  • Remove slow motion quicktime

When I open a video make with gopro a 120 fps under the timeline( in quicktime) there is a timeline for the slowmotion that show me automatically the video in slowmotion. I don't want this and i'd like to know how i can remove it.
Quicktime 10.4, Yosemite, macbook retina 13(2013)

I know this....but is like close the eyes to don't see the problem.....i need 120 fps.
Had hoped the original poster might provide additional information regarding why high frames rates were required in his or her workflow but not needed for their normal intended purpose of creating ultra smooth slow motion effects as such information might lead to better alternatives than those already provided. However, as three days have already passed, I thought it time to recap this issue for the benefit of other users who might be interested.
BACKGROUND: The basic problem seems to be the fact that the ability to record high speed frame rate video has become more and more common on various consumer recording devices. Originally used by professional and top of the line prosumer devices to provide slow motion sequences during editing, this capability is now available to the average home movie editing enthusiast using the current QT routines built into the latest Mac OS X v10.10 and IOS 8 software. Frankly, I am at a loss to understand why some users are opposed to having these features available to them at the QT X and mobile QT player level. For any persons not familiar with this feature, here are some captured screenshots:
    Yosemite QT X Player
IOS 8 Photos App Player on  iPhone 5s
As you can see in each of the images above, when the QT player software recognizes my 720p120 GoPro video file and automatically displays a secondary playback control bar below the standard controller. This controller allows a user to set "in" and "out" points for slow motion playback. In the case of the sample above, the movie begins playback at 120 fps, plays the middle segment at 30 fps, and then switches back to 120 fps for the final video segment. Thus, these players can be used to preview slow motion editing potential. By adjusting the position of the "in" and "out" markers, a user can play all, some, or none of the video clip play in slow motion. Such previews can even be shared as "proofs" with other Yosemite/IOS iCloud users but since they contain the original source data scripted with slow motion playback data/instructions, they are frequently too large for emailing as simple attachments to anyone else.
Such player content can even be saved as a mini QT Player "project"— i.e., saving the file copies the clip as currently edited to a new file container which is paired with an additional AAE (described by the Finder as a "Slow Motion Video Sidecar") file. The AAE file appears to be basically be a PLIST file containing "slow motion" playback data/instructions which I assume represents the embedded modifications to "shared" videos. Here is an image of such file content:
Sample AAE "Slow Motion Video Sidecar" File
It should be noted that these slow motion files apparently cannot be directly exported from the QT X v10.4 player app—or rather, I was not able to do so. (I.e., files exported normally but without any slow motion effects.) However, it is a relatively simple matter to "share" a "com.apple.AVKit.Share" file to the Mail app, drag it to the Desktop, and then re-encode the file as an M4V file suitable for many uses using the built-in system encoder. I.e., export result is a 30 fps file retaining both normal and relative slow motion playback segments. This is a handy, although less accurate, alternative to the use of professional or dedicated video editing software for the creation of slow motion clips to share with friends and family or distribute as "proofs" to clients. If you research the internet, you should be able to easily find several articles and forum topics complaining of the lack of such basic, built-in support for such clips over the past few years.
In any case, the QT X player can play the 120 fps files with or without applying any slow motion effect. Other players like QT 7, VLC, NicePlayer, etc. avoid this issue by simply ignoring the significance of such excessive frame rates and attempt to play the files at their original frame rate by dropping frames as needed to keep up with the data throughput. Therefore, I can't really attach much credence to the idea that the previously posted suggestions "is like close the eyes to don't see the problem" and that the "need" for 120 fps files here (without explanations) may be less of a "need" than indicated. As previously stated, the recording of content at 120 fps (or greater) is normally performed to comply with specific future editing requirements and its indiscriminate use is just a waste of file space and battery life for the average "videographer" who simply thinks that "faster is always better."
BASIC RULES OF THUMB FOR NON-PROFESSIONAL USERS:
Use high frame rate recording modes if you think there is even a remote possibility that you will be creating slow motion clips/segments from your recorded content AND you have sufficient storage media AND battery life to handle the project at hand.
Use the most current QT X or IOS 8 media players to quickly preview or share high frame rate clips with slow motion effects without having to access professional or dedicated video editing software.
Use the most current QT X or IOS 8 media players to create and save slow motion settings that can be recalled later.
Use a professional or dedicated video editing app to create and/or share slow motion project content where frame accuracy and/or fluxing is paramount.
Use an alternative media player to preview high frame rate clips when viewing content at its original frame rate AND it is too much trouble for you to adjust these players for non-slomo playback (i.e., a single swipe of a finger or clicked mouse). But remember that higher frame rates and higher resolutions mean higher playback data rates which may make playback "choppy" at best on some systems. (E.g., my 720p120 sample file has a data rate on the order of a VC-1 encoded Blu-ray disc.)
Hope this post may be of use to amateur videography Mac users contemplating the use of newer, high-speed video recording devices and how to use the basic support now available in the latest Mac OS X and IOS 8 operating systems as part of Apple's QT X modernization program.
    Happy New Year to All,

  • Slow motion lost after sync from mac to iphone

    Hi,
I can capture videos in slow motion but those videos play at normal speed once Sync them via iTunes.
    1. Capture videos in slow motion.
    2. The videos first play in slow motion in the iPhone. There is a time line slider to move the slo-mo effect back and forth.
    3. I do a back-up via iTunes including videos.
    4. After syncing, the videos in the iPhone appear in one album called "Slo-Mo".
    5. In the thumbnail of the video clip I can see the small dial icon that all other slow motion videos have.
    6. Playing the video shows a normal speed clip without the timeline slider under the video frames view.
The videos DO retain the slo-mo "effect" in Aperture and iPhoto also. Not in the iPhone after syncing.
Any hints to solve this?  thanks
    jp
    iPhone 6 iOS8

    Hi,
iOS 8.1 didn't fix the issue so here is my workaround to " show-off " my slow motion clips:
I have tried to open the clips with iMovie in the iPhone.  ( I guess not everyone has iMovie installed...?)
So, you can create a new project in iOS iMovie and import the clip you want. Slow motion clips preserve the little dial icon so you can see which ones have the slo-mo effect. It will preserve the slow-motion sections of the original clip and will play "slow".
If for some magical reason your clip doesn't play "slow" in iOS iMovie click on the small "tachometer" icon and select the desired speed.
So. iMovie does know the clip has enough frames to play in slow motion... why the camera app doesn't ?
    good luck,
    jp

    Hello,
I'm on windows xp pro by boot camp and I have sometimes some slow motion. It's a problem when i'm listening music. I didn't find virus with avast antivirus and my computer used to be clean with Ccleaner and Spybot search and destroy.

  • AirPort Disk works on Vista but is ULTRA SLOW on MacBook Pro...please help.

This is nuts, huh? Please help.
I can copy files using Window's Vista at about 7MBps so it takes around 2min 40secs to copy a previously bought 1.3GB iTunes TV show from the AirPort Disk (connected via USB 2.0)to my Vista machine. I understand this is a reasonable speed, if you think it should go faster let me know. When I try to play it with iTunes directly from the Airport Disk(by control clicking it and telling it to play with iTunes, not sure this is the best way, advice appreciated) it plays okay but I get a fair amount of stutters where it will skip a 1-4 seconds. Any way to fix this? Or should I just download it to my computer and play it from there. I was trying to save space and confusion on my computers and just play via the Airport Extreme Disk.
NOW THE WEIRD STUFF! It takes 4 hours to download the same TV file mentioned above from the Airport Disk to my MacBook Pro! And to stream the movie from the Airport Disk is impossible. Can anyone offer suggestions? I searched online and could not find any help.
Additional Info that might be helpful:
-AirPort Extreme 340ll/a, Version 7.5(I assume that's the firmware version).
-I erased with 0s and formatted an external 7200RPM 8MB Western Digital drive to "Mac OS Extended Journaled" via my MacBook Pro's USB port, using Disk Utility.
-My wi-fi connections seems fine: for web surfing it is fast with my Macbook and Windows computers, so that's not a problem. FYI, I did some internet download speed tests and got like 15,000-20,000kbps, which is pretty good, right?
-I hooked the drive up directly to my MacBook Pro's USB 2.0 port and copied the same HD TV show file to the computer, and Apple's "Activity Monitor" utility showed it is reading and writing at 30MBps which I understand is quite good. So it does not appear to be a hard drive problem either.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Cause of problem:
I found out that the problem was that in the "Airport Utility" under "Internet Connection" tab, the "Connection Sharing" had been set to "Off(Bridge Mode)". This stopped my MacBook Pro from accessing the AirPort Disk(an external hard drive connected to the AirPort Extreme Base Station). I still find it weird that My HP computer could access the AirPort Disk just fine and my MacBook Pro was so ultra slow(i.e. 4 hours to copy a 1.3GB file!) accessing files on the hard drive.
So, how did the default setting get changed to cause the problem to being with? I got some error pop-up box that said there were 2 NAT tables causing a conflict of some sort, so I followed it's instructions which put it in bridge mode which caused the problems. The reset of the wireless router put the "Connection Sharing" back into "Share a Public IP address" mode which is the default.
So anyway, this appears to be the end of this story, and I hope this post saves some people out there from some headaches and lost time!
    Peace!

  • IPhone 6 Plus IOS v8.1 Slow Motion BROKEN

Film in either of the two slow motion speeds and plays back ok on phone.  I put the files in the computer (grab the raw file via explorer), on Win 7 Professional, and played with both windows media player AND Quicktime player (up to date players) and the videos play either no slow motion, plays alternating between fast and slow, one time it played slow but had normal voice pitch, other times played slow with low voice pitch.  On youtube, they don't play in slow motion.  One I shot vertically (which I did just as a test) and it was sideways in the computer, however, youtube rotated it so it's vertical but it is not in HD and it does not play back in slow motion.  This same file that was sideways in my computer stopped playing after about 2 seconds in the computer, but played through ok in the phone.  I noticed that as the video plays in the phone, there are blue vertical lines below the left/right scrub/scroll bar for the video.  This can be set to play only a portion in slow motion.  But WHY does it start each video with the ends nudged in so the first 3 sec is regular speed and the last 2 are also reg speed also w/the slo-mo in between?  It defaults to this each time an you have to spread it out to get all slow motion..
In Win XP, some of the video files don't show up.  It shows .aae files with corresponding numbers to the videos, but most of the videos are not there.
I think this is a huge software bug that needs to be tested.  I updated the os on my new phone before I put anything into my phone.  Everything else has been perfect till this.  HELP!

You said, "...plays back ok on phone."  That's where Apple's software stops.  Your problems with Win 7, Win XP, Quicktime, and YouTube need to be addressed on forums for those programs and/or sites.  Presumably the issue has already been resolved by users on those sites, with different solutions for each.

  • Slow motion / fast motion in Premiere Elements 13

I read that in Premiere Elements 13 fast motion (and I think also slow motion) ist removed. Is that correct. And if yes: Is there any workaround available?

    rr
    Thanks for the reply.
Great information. If you have been using Ctrl+R, that is the keyboard shortcut that brings up the Time Stretch dialog.
Time Stretch (use of the Ctrl+R) has not been removed from Premiere Elements 13 Expert workspace.
Like Premiere Elements 11, Time Stretch is found in the Expert workspace and not in the Quick workspace.
When you use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+R, I get Time Stretch dialog from where I can create the slow or fast motion effect in the selected clip.
The following relates to Premiere Elements Timelapse Capture (Stop Motion) which has been removed from
Premiere Elements 13 as a specific feature that you see in Premiere Elements 11 and 12.
Adobe Premiere Elements 11 * Capture stop-motion and time-lapse video
Please let me know if you are OK with the above information.
    Thank you.

  • SAP B1 Patch 42 GUI, Vista SLOW MOTION

    Hi,
I just don't know if I'm alone with this.
I didn't find any thread about it.
I've successfuly installed SAP B1 2005A SP001, Patch 42 on Windows Vista Home Premium.  Everything works find
    Except
When windows pop, its slow like hell.  You know this animation when you open let say Sales Invoice window.
Well in Vista, it takes at least 10 seconds like if everything was in slow motion.  But when the window is there, everything still works as normal !
Any idea ? Any patch ? Anything ?
    Thank you

    Hi,
Nice link but I'm not on version 10 but 42 and there's no error and no problem.  Just the GUI is slow.
I don't think Vista is to blame but rather the poor SAP GUI which really need a fix since a LONG LONG time
that would also probably fix the problem of .NET WinForms not sitting on top when called from SAP
I'm more looking if someone knows something about it, a patch for the GUI or even a registry key that would disable the SAP window animation.

  • How can I flip my iphone videos on my PC? My videos from my iphone are horrible when I transfer them to my PC. How can I improve the video on my PC? Can I just convert the files to WMV? When the video plays the speed is off, it's half slow-motion

My videos from my iphone are horrible when I transfer them to my PC. How can I improve the video on my PC? Can I just convert the files to WMV? When the video plays the speed is off, it's half slow-motion and staggers into normal play. The clips are slightly cut as well, the clips do not roll continuously.  I'm taling about videos that are no more than 2 minutes long.  I'm frustrated and I could really use some advice-my kids basketball games is what I'm recording and I'm trying to send them to my family (they are not very tech savvy). Thanks

Not it's only function but one for which it was most admirably suited, which is why I really hope someone can find a work around. I am hoping my post to the Apple feedback may prompt a useful response from Apple and I live in hope that my post here will elicit a useful response from another user. I did not miss the the text at the top of the feedback form but you presumably missed my initial text, 'someone here can explain' or my subsequent 'work around from another user'
Just in case anyone reading this has a large collection of music videos, video podcasts or iTunes U then DO NOT upgrade your iPad to iOS 5. If you are considering purchasing the iPad as a useful mobile device to experience these media organised in your iTunes please don't as you will be wasting your money. (unless someone on this forum knows of a way to undo the mess created by those infallible folks at Apple)
Yes I know it does other things but the purpose I bought it for doesn't work anymore

  • Quicktime plays video in slow motion

Quicktime plays my video from a Sony NEX-3 camera [H.264 MP4 files] in slow motion. The images plays at a reduced speed, while the sound plays at full speed. One consequence is that image and sound is completely out of sync. The video plays fine in iMovie and MPEG stream clip.
I tried in two Macs: a Macbook Air (10.6.6) and a Macbook (10.6.5) and on both the video is slow motion, but on the Macbook it is extreme slow motion, while on the Macbook Air it is slight slow motion [mainly noticeable through lack of sync between image and sound].
Video from iPhone 4 plays without problems in Quicktime.
Since iMovie plays the Sony video fine, I would assume it is not a Sony video problem, but a bug in Quicktime. How do I get Apple to fix that bug?

  • Help! Movies from iPhone 5 play in slow motion when opened in Quicktime on PC

    Hi there,
I was hoping someone may have the answer or have encountered this problem as well, as I have been unable to find anything on it elsewhere on the net.
I have transferred some movies, taken on my iPhone 5, to my PC. However when they are opened in Quicktime (as recommended) they play in slow motion.
However, the sound still plays at normal speed.
I have already tried going into the QT settings where you can speed up the playback, but this doesn't work either, no matter how fast I set it to - they still play super slow.
Although they are taking up heaps of space, I am worried to delete the movies off the iPhone in case they have not copied over properly and I lose the originals!
    Any suggestions?
    Many thanks!

Hi Matthias, thanks for your response!
We are running on Windows XP, is that what you mean? I will try and download the VLC player and see what happens. Are iPhone 5 movies higher res than iPhone 4, as we can play those?
If it is the system, do you know whether or not if I save the movies to our PC, then transfer than to another computer, should they play ok? I just don't want to delete them off my phone and have them permanently slow, iykwim?
Sorry if my ignorance is showing - I'm not overly tech savvy when it comes to this stuff!
    Many thanks again!

  • HT4437 slow motion video to TV

I have problems transmiting a video with slowe motion from my iphone 5s to my TV through apple tv. I just hear the sound. Do not see image. Any idea???

Hi. After after trying too upload from the Facebook app, I found out that the video isn´t saved as a finished video. (you can still edit it)
I used the iMovie  app to save the movie as new finished movie. Open iMovie , those video, select your video, click the share button i down right corner. Push create movie (I guess, mine is in danish) play the movie or not, push the back button, change the name or not, push the share button, save the the movie. Now you have a finished movie, that can be shared as any normal movie.
    Hope this helps
