Ultrabay harddrive caddy for a T430s

Seagate's Laptop SSHD ST1000LM014, 1TB drive.
I am considering this drive for my ultrabay. Is it a good choice? Or are there others that work better?

+1 for Dorian's approach.  Add an mSATA SSD, keep the original HDD, set the HDD to spin down when idle.
Fast, quiet, plenty of storage, optical drive still available...

I bought this one: 9.5mm Bezel SATA 2nd HDD Hard Drive caddy bay for T400s T500 T410s X200 43N3412. It's a copy of the real thing but it fits and works perfectly in my T430s.

Thanks for the notes. I decided not to risk it and went with the newmodeUS caddy. Yes, probaly overpaid, but the piece of mind that it WILL work, was worth it for me.

  • Caddy for secondary Harddrive in MBP

    My advise for using a caddy for MBP 2012 []i7 []16mb; primary drive 750gb; Secondary 1T(now) 128gb SSD(Before)
The result from after 6months of using a secondary hd for the macbook Pro, I arrived at the conclusion as unreliable for keeping anything you needed for safe keeping.
    A. should not be used as a backup drive for data of necessary
    B. Should be use as a trash can.
    C. Death Cab for Caddy (since it is created a oneway system of dropping data without able to retrieve and backup/dead SSD 1/ Saved Data 0)

and as most unbelievable things its not true, you can still replace the SSD on both the retina and non retina macbooks. Ram in the only thing you cant replace because of it being soldered (on the retina only).
The ssd in the retina is proprietary so we have to wait for someone to release a compatable module, but it does infact unscrew and come out.
The non-retina macbooks should be as upgradable (hdd and ram wise) as much as the 2011 edition.

  • Ultrabay battery option for ThinkPad T400s?

Is there any available Ultrabay battery option that is compatible with the new T400s?
I know we have to get the new vIII of the Ultrabay SATA adapter for replacing the optical drive with a second SATA drive on the T400s, so I was wondering if the T400s requires a new Ultrabay solutions for adding battery through the Ultrabay?

The option number you need is 43R9250 - ThinkPad Advanced Ultrabay Battery II
    Hope this helps

If you'd like to order online you can do so here: Purchase accessories, upgrades, and replacement parts

  • Need 2nd HDD Caddy for MBP

I have a MBP 4,1 (MB166, 17" Early 2008), this is the last style before apple went to unibody.
I'm looking for a 2nd HDD caddy for my comp, all the ones I am finding are only for unibody! Wondering if anyone knows a place to get a pre-unibody one, thanks!

Do some research on this one. It's listed to fit the 4.1 (and even earlier PowerBooks): http://www.powerbookmedic.com/DualDrive---Add-a-Second-Hard-Drive-to-your-Laptop -p-17316.html

  • New HD Caddy for NB205

Is it possible to purchase a new Hard Drive Caddy for the Mini nb205?  I just received my nb205 in the mail today, and  I have an SSD that I would like to put in, so I took the stock HD out.  The screws that attach the caddy to the HD were screwed in so tight, I stripped 3 of the screws.

I would also love to buy a replacement one. I stripped one of them, tried several ways to remove it including a screw extractor with no chance.
Installed the SSD without it, but I still want a replacement caddy to make it safer.
UPDATE: I was finally able to remove the stripped one. Used a larger drill bit on the screw and then used a square-type (I don't know what it's actually called) screwdriver. It looks like I didn't break anything on the Toshiba HDD, but didn't test it to be honest...

  • HDD-Caddy for Ideadpad S10e

    Hello,
Today I've received my Ideapad S10e (the SSD-Version NS846GE9). Now I'd like to install a hdd into the empty slot, but I've noticed that there's no caddy to tighten the hdd in the slot. In the other Ideapad Versions I saw a caddy which is holding the hdd.
My question is: Is it usual that there is no caddy in the hdd slot in the SSD version? Where can I get a caddy for my Ideapad? Do the caddies from the Thinkpads fit in? Because then I would buy one since I cant find any caddy for Ideapads.

Make sure that the HDD1 with its model is on the Boot priority order list. If it is on the Excluded from boot order list, it is disabled.

  • Did someone check Parallel/Serial Ultrabay Slim Adapter for T61 on T400

Just a simple question. I need a serial adapter and the Parallel/Serial Ultrabay Slim Adapter is for me the best solution. If it really looks nice doesn't matter.
I just want to know if it works.

Edit: Okay, it seems that Serial Ultra Bay has not the ports as the ultra bay from T6x series. But then is the question, does Lenovo plan to create also this Parallel/Serial Ultrabay Slim Adapter for T400 series?

Did you investigate if the expresscard converters give you the full RS232 standard you require. The new expresscard slot on the T400 has better performance than USB 2 as it basically attaches directly to the bus.

  • Keyframe Caddy for CS6 Extension Error

I've been trying to install Keyframe Caddy for Flash CS6 for the last 3 days. I keep getting an error that says the following:
You are about to install the extension, 'Keyframe Caddy'. The publisher of the extension can not be verified, because the security certificate used by this extension has not been verified by a recognized authority. Are you sure you want to install this Extension?
I installed it and went into Flash to enable it and it doesn't show up. Haven't found a way to fix this yet. I've searched everywhere. Hopefully someone here knows how to help me out with this dilemma.

I think this one is a panel, not a Command. Have you tried Window>Other Panels?
