Ultrasound A, B, C Scan

I am trying to do Ultrasound A,B & C Scan Using LabVIEW. I Have NI USB 6363 and NI 5133 Scope with me.
I am using HC-SR04 Ultrasound Sensor, and completed the Distance Measurement.
** I made the DefinedSignal.lvm from Backward Calculation **
Now what is the next step, can any one suggest?

  • How to acquire data properly in a b-scan

I'm aqcuiring ultrasound backscattered data in a b-scan system. The vi that i have designed for this purpose is based on a niscope vi (sample rate aquisition). Every time an iteration occurs i get 1000 points and record them in a .xls file, appending values to this file on every iteration, until the transducer gets to the end of 1 line. when the transducer gets to the end, it moves one step, the vi creates another file, where the following acquisitions will be recorded til the next step. My problem is: the transducer is excited at a 1khz rate, (and every time this happens i get 1000 points), but the program (the vi) does not run fast enough to keep track of every pulse (the iteration should occur at 1khz rate also, what's impossi
ble, at least i think it is). Since i'm stuck for a while with this ang i always got very good sugestion on this forum (thanks pals!) i decided to ask for some help. I want to know if it's possible to make this kind of acquisition using labview only and how it can be done.

Unless you are using a very old machine, you should easily be able to store your data at a 1MHz rate. A three year old 650MHz Pentium III is capable of streaming to disk at 10MHz+, so 1MHz is absolutely no problem. You only have a few changes to make.
    1) Do not use the .xls format. This is a non-native LabVIEW format and takes translation time. It is unclear from you question whether you are using ActiveX and storing in native Excel format or are using the LabVIEW VIs to store data in text based spreadsheet format (very slow). In either case, you will be much better off saving as a simple binary file. Use the Write File primitive. You can reach disk limited speeds this way. Store to disk in 65,000 byte chunks for maximum speed. If you need the data in a spreadsheet format, convert it after you are done. If you use a simple binary format, most analysis programs (e.g. MathCAD, Mathematica) can read it.
    2) Consider using one file instead of many. Alternately, create all your files before you start. Creating files is a slow process. You do not want to do it while taking data. If you have a newer version of NI-Scope, look on your CD for a directory called sfpFile. It contains some LabVIEW VIs to create binary files with structure. They are somewhat difficult to use, but are tailor made for your application. They allow you to store multiple waveforms in a single binary file with relatively easy access.
    3) Your data acquisition needs are not really clear. It appears you are taking 1000 data points every millisecond. What hardware are you using to acquire the data and what scan rate are the points taken at? What is the dead time between each 1000 point scan (if any)? If you are taking data at 1MHz, you are probably better off streaming continuously instead of taking data in separate records, if your hardware supports it. If you are taking data at 100MHz, your dead time is almost a millisecond, so you do not need to stream. Consider putting your save code in a separate loop from your acquisition code. This allows LabVIEW to multithread your application (works much better in LV7.0), resulting in better performance. Use LV queues to communicate between the loops. Use local variables to pass the data between the loops.
Finally, run the LabVIEW profiler to find out where your slow steps really are (in the Tools->Advanced->Profile VIs... menu). If these suggestions don't help or are not detailed enough, post more details of you data acquisition and we'll try again. You should be able to do this.

  • HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 Color MFP M575 - Can't scan from Windows

We recently purchased and installed an HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 Color MFP M575 to be used as a networked all-in-one solution for a number of offices. I have been able to get it set up on our network and have installed the appropriate drivers on the requested Windows 7 x64 machines, and network printing works perfectly. However, it seems that despite the fancy scanning features available from the all-in-one itself (scan to email, scan to a network folder, etc.), I can't find any way to do an old-fashioned scan from Windows.
I have installed the full software solution available on the driver download page for the device, and while Windows lists the device as a "Multi Function Printer; Scanner" it does not recognize it as an actual scanner. The built-in Windows Fax and Scan simply reports that no scanners are installed. The software installation did not include the HP Solution Center (which I am used to seeing from my experience with various other HP all-in-one devices) or any equivalent for direct scanning. The driver download page for the device does not include any separate scanning drivers, so I can't be certain if they were included with the full installation or exist at all. Some of our staff also use Adobe Acrobat to scan, and even that fails to recognize the MFP as a scanner.
We'll eventually be setting up the device to scan directly to a network folder, but we need a fallback while IT takes their time getting it set up; I can't imagine that the simplest option is not available at all. I must be missing something here, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: To add, I also ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor. Interestingly, it reports the device as a printer and only offers to "Fix Printing" without any sort of resolution for my scanning problem.

There is no change to this problem after 6 months since the last post. Put simply, and as stated in the previous posts, there is no way to scan a document and receive the image on your PC. If you are working with graphics for any length of time or want to create an image for inclusion as an image in a document or web page using this piece of equipment will not allow you to do so.
Great shame as every other function works well - it cannot be beyond the wit of HP to include a Windows application that enables you to scan an image, receive it in the software you are using at the time (e.g. Outlook, Word, Photoshop...) and use it in your work.
HP Printers several years older than this £1000+ Enterprise printer were able to do this simple job and have done so for a great many years. Just being able to use Microsoft's Fax and Scan would be start.

  • Malicious or not? Message popped up: Mozilla security found (something like too much, forget exact word) activity on your computer so it will do a fast scan of system file. With OK button.

I was looking at youtube.com, which always tells me my browser is not supported and recommends I download Firefox, but that is what I was using, so I went to Firefox to check for updates. (I think I also had freecycle.org open.) Then this message popped up in a new page: Mozilla security found (something like "too much", forget exact word) activity on your computer so it will do a fast scan of system file. There was an OK button. The page address was: http://update17.stegner.ce.ms/index.php?Q7Lhl9ShbRxGJXpkM1VLSi4ZE8H4pTedoVPySgeppM3VpC+thEspcFG7qxHgn1pdsC2h5ygPGWI3t5hXqMzL9EQaZZ3J1e3CKXgCb0Qp. I did not click OK but copied the link and closed the window which closed the internet. I have never seen this before and would like to know if it is really Mozilla or possibly something malicious. Thank you.

Good catch. That almost certainly is an invitation to download malware.
There are a lot of infected web sites pushing "fake antivirus" software. If you have any doubts about whether your system might have become infected, you can supplement your regular security software with these two highly regarded scanners:

  • HP AiO Remote app will not recognize scan and copy function of HP Envy 120

Good morning! HP AiO Remote App is installed on my iPad4 and in the same WiFi network with my HP Envy 120 printer. The printer is recognized by the app and marked with a green led. When I tap on scan or copy in the app menu, it tells me that these functions were available in the app only for printers which provide these features. But HP Envy 120 has both scanner and copier. And last time it worked. Some idea what could have happened here? Thanks. UJ

Hi UJKarl, welcome to the HP Forums. You should be able to scan from the HP AIO Remote App on your Envy 120 printer. You probably just need to power cycle the printer, iPad and router to regain proper function.
Turn off your printer with the power button. Power down the iPad by holding the sleep button down until you get the option to 'slide to power off'. Then disconnect the power cord to your router and count to about 10, and then plug it back in. Once the router comes back online, turn the printer on. When the printer comes back online (blue wi-fi light stops blinking), then power the iPad back up. Try again, and it should work.
Let me know how it turns out.

  • Hp aio remote app on iPhone won't scan to my hp photosmart 7515

hp aio remote app "there was a problem during scanning. check scanner and try again" when using hp photosmart 7515 however this is a new issue the app scanning worked before. Also I can no longer print or scan unless at home and connected to my network

    Hello @mbranch37,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you are having a problem with the AIO app, as well as what sounds like a web services issue.
    I would like to help.
Before working with the app, I would like to make sure the printer is fine.
On the front panel of your printer touch the Web Services icon. (also known as the ePrint button)
If you get a server connection error, I would set a manual DNS.
The following post by happytohelp01, has instructions for setting the manual DNS.
If for some reason the printers email or ePrint address has changed, you will have to set it up again.
If the email is the same and you do not get any error messages, try cycling your network.
Turn off the printer and other network devices.
Unplug the power to your router for at least a minute.
Plug the power cord back into the router.
Turn on all your network devices.
Wait until the blue wireless light on your printer stops blinking.

  • AiO Remote iOS app -scanning A4

I have a Photosmart 5515 All in One printer and have been using the iOS app AiO Remote app to scan in some A4 pages. I set the app to scan to a document and also the page size to A4. Looking at the resultant document it has scaled the the document down. It has centralised the document but you end up with margins of a couple of inches all round.
    Has anyone else noticed this?
Does anyone know how to overcome this?

    Hi Rturner003,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that you are encountering difficulties when scanning A4 documents with HP's All-in-One Printer Remote app.
I did some testing on this with an iPad and 3 different ePrint capable printers and each time I was able to recreate it. However that doesn't mean we are kippered.  I have included a link to a post on the forums and the key part for you to get your A4 scanned document to print the document as you require, please follow step 3 after you have scanned the image. The key is to pinch the image to the size you would like.

  • Scanning multiple pages from 5520 to iPad.

I can scan single pages on 5520 to iPad using AiO Remote app but cannot figure out how to get them into one file.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi,
After touch "No, I'm done" you can save all 4 xxx_1, xxx_2, xxx_3 and xxx_4 (xxx normally date and time) files on ONE file by touching pdf at the top right. You can give it a name and it will have all 4 pages.
    Regards.

  • Edit scanning size

Hi. I downloaded AiO Remote app for my iPad. It has connected fine, but I was wondering if there is a way to alter the size of a document that I have scanned from my printer to my iPad. It did give me a size option which I thought would have been fine as it said A4, but when I later printed it from my iPad to the same printer, it was about 1/3rd the size of the A4 sheet of paper.
    Thanks

    Hi,
You have to select the size of the original, not the size of the glass.
    Regards.

  • 7515 ios 8 scanning doesn't function using document feeder

My AiO remote updated on my iPad today and i have issues scanning from the scanner. The printer and tablet functions properly when scanning using the glass however when using the document feeder, AiO remote scans the sheets then before saving it says there is a problem with the scanner, check the scanner. not sure why it works with the glass and NOT with the feeder.

I am having the exact same problem. I will add that scanning from the document feeder to my Mac Book works fine. The problem with the document feeder is only whenn atttempting to use the AiO software on my iPad.

  • Why is it not possible to "scan duplex" on the AIO Remote-App

Today I was trying to scan a few letters with front and backside via the AIO-App.
Unfortunately it's neither with the Android-App nor with the iPhone-App nearly as comfortable as with the PC. You always need to sort the scans manually - and with the screensize of e.g. an iPhone this isn't fun at all...
Could you please support an automatic sorting mechanism as featured on the normal PC-client?!?
    Best regards,
    Batschi

I would like to add to this question/request. I, too, am using iOS 8 from iPhone and iPad connected to an HP Officejet Pro 8500A.
Also, it is infuriating that there is no deafault paper size: in Europe, we use A4; Letter is a purely US size that we never see, this side of the Pond. Please incorporate a feature that will allow a forced default rather than reverting to Letter every time the app is opened.
    Thank you.

  • Thunderbird fails to send email when "Scan email for junk mail" option is checked in Server Admin

I have 2 clients that need to send mail through my server, one Mac and one Windows. The Mac uses apple mail and the Windows machine uses Thunderbird.
Apple Mail will send fine, it is set up for "Use Default ports 25, 465, 587" and "Use SSL" and "Authentication: MD5 Challenge-response".
Thunderbird refuses to send and I don't even see any errors showing up in the Console on the OS X server under smtpd entries.
If I uncheck the "Scan email for junk mail" option on the server, then Thunderbird will send fine.
Thunderbird is set up as: "smtp port 587 (default)" "connection security: STARTTLS" "Authentication method: Encrypted Password"
May or may not be relevant: I use virtual domains as well as aliases.
Server: Mac OS X Server version 10.5.8

Solved it, looks like maybe the smtpd settings for sasl authentication may not have been correct. I followed everything in http://osx.topicdesk.com/content/view/38/41/ the "Frontline Spam Defense for OS X server" guide and now can send mail just fine from Thunderbird Winodws and from Apple Mail.
