I am wondering about some software. I have seen an icon on some videos, it looks like the mac desktop back round picture on an old fashioned video camera! Does anyone no what this is? I have looked but can't find it!

Maybe ScreenFlow? It's a program fro recording the screen.

Here's kind of an odd question....

I play guitar and qork with sound editing for myself and others.
I'm sitting in bed today, listening to the different sounds my iPhone has to offer and I started thinking:
"where did Apple pick these sounds from?"
So I pose that question to the Community: where did Apple pick these sounds from?

Kind of an odd question - 10.4.11 to 10.5

My parents wanted to get an iPad (and perhaps there is an iPod Touch in my dad's future). Unfortunately they are running an iMac G5 with Tiger (10.4.11), which is incompatable with the new iPads, iPods, iPhones, etc.
Finding a copy of Leopard (10.5) under $200 (a $500 iPad would turn into a $700 dollar one) is tough to say the least. You can find it on eBay, but I don't feel comfortable buying an OS off of eBay. Who knows what you'll wind up with.
Then it hit me...Back in 2007, I bought myself a MacBook Pro. It came with the install disc for Leopard. I personally never used that install disc. Would my parent's be able to use it, or is that disc the exact one that Apple used to install my OS in the factory? I assumed I couldn't use it for my parents, but man would it be a life saver. I'm running Snow Leopard now and will probably upgrade to Lion in the not too distant future (something my parents will sadly never be able to do with their iMac G5).
Any thoughts or suggestions on where to find 10.5 at a reasonable price (something closer to original retail)?

Odd question

This is kind of an odd question.
We have a webcam that we would like to stream video to. We have the wiring in, and it runs into our network. The problem is that the network is rather complicated and for some reason the signal from the web camera is getting lost. We need to know if it is an issue with the camera itself or with the network.
And I was thinking to myself, here we also have this verizon netbook with mobile broadband. If I could plug the webcam / ethernet system into the netbook and could get an internet signal, then I would know the problems we are having are an issue with the network and not the camera. At which point the solution would be to just get a second independent fios line.
So the question is this... is there any way to treat the netbook kind of like a router. Plug an ethernet cable in, install some software, forward a couple of ports and that is pretty much it. It really doesn't matter if it runs slow or not, because this is just about testing some systems.

Using the netbook for the configuration you are requesting is not supported. Only hotspot devices support a similar setup to a router. Examples of these devices would be the following:

You need to upgrade OS X.

Lost my contacts in ios8 update and now I can't post my question here

And I have a question about using my iPhone 5s. Please don't delete this question again.
I updated my iphone 5s (64 gig) and ipad 2 (16 gig) to ios 8 last week and I stupidly said yes to iCloud Drive before I read all the warning signs not to. My photos are still there cause I didn't have them in icloud, but my contacts are gone on my phone. I updated my Mac Mini to (the new version of OSX after Mavericks and I'm hoping if I don't say the name of it this post won't get deleted) and I still see all my contacts on my computer, I'm just not sure how to get them back on my phone. Should I restore my phone in itunes to a previous backup from last month? Figured I'd check here before I went with that.

Hello, try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

What should be considered a basic question here?

Hey folks I want some feedback on why type of questions we should consider basic in this forum? I have noticed in the last several weeks the questions here appear to be easily answered from wiki articles or the new book on the SAP Webclient programming.
Instead of me however throwing down the moderator axe, I want the community to decide the type of questions that should be locked or moved to a "basic questions" forum.
Given that the CRM Webclient is now a relatively mature product and the available materials to learn have increased, this should be fair request.
In order to ensure that you respond I'm going to give my thoughts on what should not be allowed
- Any topic covered in detail in the CRM wiki page here unless you need a clarification is subject for lock

Based on your feedback my goal is to implement the "stricter moderation" post Teched Las Vegas or around October 1st, 2011. I would expect further changes to moderation style as SCN moves to a new platform and moderator tools are improved.

Basically queries like "How To xyz" which are already there on the WiKi should be moved to Basic Questions. These are the queries which are being raised by Consultants who are either new TO CRM or new to SDN or both.

5. How to add a Attribute from AET/EEWB
6. How to Create a Assignment block for a Z table.

Bit Of An Odd Question.

Hi Everyone, I have a bit of an odd question but my friend gave me his old version of photoshop cs5 with the product key i was wondering if i could register it under my name at all?

If that copy has been used in any upgrade path, then it is no longer valid.
Also, Adobe has paperwork, that must be filled out, to transfer ownership of valid licenses. I would have your friend complete that paperwork for the gifted copy. Adobe Customer Support can get them the necessary paperwork. Once, that transfer could be done via FAX, but not sure what the process might be now.

Odd question: retrieving a serial number

This is an odd question, and I can't find anywhere appropriate to ask it. Is there any way I can look up the Apple products that are registered to me? I had a MacBook stolen last week, and I need the serial number to report to the police on the odd chance that they find it. I can't seem to find the serial number anywhere in my files. Can I get that info from Apple? If so, how?

Try calling Apple for that info. I don't know of any place on their website that you can retrieve that information.

once a user makes a http connection to web sever, how can server send message to client upon some events happened so that the client can update the latest things and do not need to click Refresh button in browser explicitly.

I don't think you can. After a client gets the response from the server the connection closes. That is the whole concept behind the client/server relationship used by web servers.
The closest thing you can do is have the client timed to reopen the connection (basically automatically click the refresh button) at set intervals.
