UME with 4.6C and connector Alias
Hello,
We have big difficulties to link Visual composer to a 4.6C...
1) We try to configure UME of portal to a 4.6C (but since SP12 and WAS 6.20 is not installed, it is not possible to use it.
Is it possible to use UME portal and map by using "user mapping for system access" ?
2) We need to create a system alias connector in the portal with SSO and everything will be ok ?
Thanks a lot for your help
Best regards
Hello Srinivas,
I explain my problem in detail,
We try to use 4.6C back-end for UME (7.0) but It is not possible since SP12. We succed but we cannot connect with login and password (error). SAP says it is not possible to use this method since sp12.
So we would like to to find an another solution. So Is it possible to use UME of the portal instance (stand alone), and map user to user 4.6C ?
In addition, we would like to use visual composer with 4.6C and portal 7.0. Is it possible with UIDPW and if we need to configure SSO betwean portal and 4.6c ?
Thanks a lot,
Best regards.

UME with ABAP AS and LDAP Datasource
Hello SDN´s
We have tried very hard for the last days configuring the ume-xml for the following scenario:
- LDAP is used to authenticate the user
- AS ABAP is used to store the roles of the user (because they automatically becomes groups in the portal)
- the portal and the ABAP-system are on different servers
Given facts:
1) we canu2019t synchronize the roles of the ABAP system to the LDAP
2) we have to use the open-LDAP for the authentication
3) DataSources are readonly
4) User can have similar or different userid´s on the DataSources (Mapping required)
Therefore, we read the user and account information from the LDAP and groups/roles form the ABAP AS.
Result:
a) user with similar userid on LDAP and ABAP AS: These user were no longer able to log on to the portal
b) user with different id´s (mapped) on LDAP and ABAP: Can log on
Questions:
- Is it true that similar userid´s leads to inherent problems of the UME Persistence Manager?
- Did we set up a wrong config-xml?
- Is there any other way how we could authenticate to the LDAP and having the Roles of a user read from the ABAP system dynamically?
Thank you very much for your help
Sincerely, A. HunzikerHi Andre,
Not sure if my remarks below can help you but I do hope that it can shine you some light.
We have LDAP as our main UME, which is configured in our Portal7.0. This means that security groups created in LDAP are "replicated" into the Portal. We created Portal Roles which are assigned to the security groups created in LDAP. We also use SSO and it was setup via the SPNego Wizard (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/45/40a0de773a7527e10000000a114a6b/frameset.htm). This way, the user only needs to login via Windows and access the Portal without having to login (when users have the same Windows userID as that of their SAP ID). If the users have a different userID between Windows and SAP, then they do a user map under personalization of the Portal.
To connect our Portal to our backend systems, we created a reference system (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/89/6eb8deaf2f11d5993700508b6b8b11/frameset.htm) and we have our Portal certificates in all backend systems (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/d3/41c8efb31d11d5993800508b6b8b11/frameset.htm).
With the above, users have SSO from Windows to Portal and via the reference system, they can enjoy SSO as well into our backend systems.
Basically we have control what the users can see from the Portal (directly from LDAP security groups with users assigned to that) and what the user can do on backend is still maintain in the backend authorisation setup.
Hope that can help you.

Iphone with bumper case and connector cable
I recently purchased the iPhone 4 and gave my wife my 3G. I had a couple of cables that I use on the 3G for my car and at the desk. I attempted today to charge the iPhone 4 while on a trip only find that the cables that I have for the 3G will not fit into the iPhone 4 which has the bumper case. The opening on the case is smaller than the plastic insulator on the connector.
Fortunately I brought the one that came with it, which normally stays on my desk, along on the trip and was able to charge it without taking the case off. But now it appears I'll have to purchase another cable for my car charger.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?I made the same discovery on both my iPhone4s. It would fit on my SkyDock either. So I was able to successfully Dremel both of them for a secure fit. It only takes about 15 minutes of careful work to get them modified for greater charger compatibility. Not sure it wasn't intentional to increase aggregate charger sales.

vga-vga cable between. Monitor signals "No signal" and "Check your connection"
I have pretty much ruled out cable or monitor error because I have tried different connections with 2 cables and 2 monitors. Both of these were connected to my A1223 (Which the 2133w is to replace) and they all worked perfectly.
This computer is to replace my A1223w. (Which I maxxed out.)
What is my problem or where have I goofed? Remember, I have no monitor output so I can not interact with my unit.
Thanks for whatever help you may have to offer.
PercyPIs this your pc?
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03183981&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5192567
Then you have a dvi-d output at the pc.
Dvi-d is digital, your vga monitor is analog.
You can't use a simple connector fron digital to analog, you would need a converter.
Other adapters work from vga2dvi-a (=analog) or vga2dvi-i (analog+digital). A vga2dvi-d can't work ....
You'll need a monitor with dvi input which understand digital signals or a graphics card which offers analog signals too.

Camera Connector with Nikon D2x and 5G 60gb iPod
Has anyone had experience with the D2x (Nikon) and the camera connector on a 5G 60gb iPod?
The camera is compatable with Mass Storage and PTP. The camera works great with iPhoto...plug it in and iPhoto opens and you click the button to download.
Also, I see that the new iPod has a longer lasting battery. Does this help when downloading a large card.
By the way, I called Belkin and their camera connectors are NOT compatable with the new 5G models and the guy said that there is nothing on the drawing board.
G5 Dual 2ghz Mac OS X (10.4.4) 3.5gb RAM; 400gb HDI purchased the 60gb iPod-Video (5G) and after several failed attempts I found the proceedure to upload photos on to the iPod using an Apple camera connector with my D2x. Here goes:
First, reset the ipod (just a precaution...hold down the center button with the Menu button for 6 sec). The screen will go black with a golden apple in the center. The menu will display after a short period.
Turn on the ipod (if it isn't already on from the above proceedure).
Plug in the camera connector to the iPod (without the USB cable attached).
Attach the USB cable to your camera and turn on the camera.
Plug in the cable from the camera to the camera connector which is attached to the iPod.
Wait 20-30 sec and it should work.
I tested the speed in both PTP mode and Mass Storage mode. The import for both was 200mb.
PTP = 3minutes 10 sec
Mass Storage 1 minute 59 sec.
The battery did go down a lot (about 1/4 after both imports), but after you detach the camera connector and go back to the main menu, it seems to go back up to about 95% full. -

Automatic upload of roles from ECC to portal (UME with LDAP)
Hi experts,
This thread reopen the question asked on the following message : automatic upload of roles from BI to portal
However, it concerns this time "UME with LDAP".
Problematic :
SAP Library 04s tells us that is not yet possible to automate role replication (or role assigment replication) from ABAP Based back-end to Netweaver Portal. Only manual process for initial upload is possible.
Source = http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/41/5e4d40ecf00272e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
Questions :
1 - Did anyone ever try to implement such an automatic tool ?
2 - What if I'm not able to write on the Active Directory ? I am still able, at least, to automate role assignment replication from ABAP Based back-end to Netweaver Portal (ie. UME with LDAP) ? Directly from SAP R/3 to EP through UME, without passing through Active Directory since the group field is not maintained in AD.
Many thanks for your inputs
Alexis MARTINHello,
As I did not read the previous thread I don't know what exactly you are trying to achieve, but I can tell you about what we have done - as far as it is not too late yet.
We use the portal with integration to a BI system. In the ABAP stack we have lots of roles with menu items for hundreds of reports. We want the users to see these roles in the portal.
First we have used the role migration tool of the portal to upload these roles. There is a Java API for executing role uploads from code. You need to create a webservice in the java stack to call this api, and can call the webservice from ABAP.
However it is just a question of time and role size until this will not work at all. Standard role migration is more or less crap, stability is a problem. It also creates a lot of logs in the PCD and thus fills the database with trash. (After a few OSS messages there is now a program for deleting logs + you can turn of logging.) Also upload of larger roles takes up to an hour, and you alwasy have the problem that your portal roles are not up to date during the day.
When I got completely fed up, I have implemented an own navigation connector. When you log on to the portal it will connect to the ABAP stack via RFC, load the role, and generate the portal menu from it. It uses caching, but on every logon it checks whether the role has been updated in ABAP since the last time it was loaded. It is up to date, faster then PCD navigation, and you need absoluetely no periodical synching at all. I cant even understand why this is not offered by SAP per standard!
Drawback is that it will of course only work for the menu items, and only menu items with an "URL-type" are supported. I'm prettry sure however that it would be possible to implement a few other types as well.
Let me know if you are interested in the solution, I can give you a few additional details: oliverDOTsvisztATwienerbergerDOTcom

System and System Alias Creation
Hi all,
we have developed iViews in EP5. Now we want to migrate all our iViews to Ep6.. we have problem in EP6 for system and system alias creation..
in EP5 we have 2 files called System.xml for defining the system and JCODestination.xml..
after creating systems in System.xml.. we will define all system properties in like router string ,client no,and system number for each sap system in JCODestination.xml ..
and these systems we will map to the user in which will come all the defined Systems to combo box
and we will define the systems in default.properties file and we will use in the par development...
I heared that there are no System.xml and JCODestination.xml files in EP6 Netweaver Component....
can you please any one advise me how to get configured System and System Alias in EP6 NetWever... and how to call in coding...
I need a detailed steps how to create SAP System Alias.. since i am connecting to SAP System and Calling Function Modules and BAPIS From My Application(iViews).....
I need a Detailed Explaination Step by Step Explanation ..
your help will be required for me.. and appreciated to the great extent......
Thanks and Regards
Prasad.YAfter following the steps above in system landscape
please do the following to fill in the parameters
Select connector under the property category.
PlZ make sure that you have provided ApplicationHost(the host name of backend system), LogicalSystemName(can be found from transaction scc4,just dounle click on the client to see the logical name use saplogon and logon to the backend system R3 in this case) ,SAP Client(can be found from transaction code scc4), SAP SystenID,SAP System Number and Server port.
After that create a System Alias for that system by selecting System Aliases under display.( This is important. I had the same kind of problem this should slove it).
Now make sure that you have user mapping set for the backend R3 System(User Administration-->User Maping search for the user and choose edit. Then choose the system alias name form the drop down box and provide the login details for the backend system).
Try to test the connection by selecting connection tests under display. If it doesnot work plz copy paste the whole error message.
The message should look something like the one below
Test Connection with Connector - Jan 1, 1970 2:35:42 PM
Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
Results
Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection successful

# Settings for hosting different languages.
# Required modules: mod_mime, mod_negotiation
# DefaultLanguage and AddLanguage allows you to specify the language of
# a document. You can then use content negotiation to give a browser a
# file in a language the user can understand.
# Specify a default language. This means that all data
# going out without a specific language tag (see below) will
# be marked with this one. You probably do NOT want to set
# this unless you are sure it is correct for all cases.
# * It is generally better to not mark a page as
# * being a certain language than marking it with the wrong
# * language!
# DefaultLanguage nl
# Note 1: The suffix does not have to be the same as the language
# keyword --- those with documents in Polish (whose net-standard
# language code is pl) may wish to use "AddLanguage pl .po" to
# avoid the ambiguity with the common suffix for perl scripts.
# Note 2: The example entries below illustrate that in some cases
# the two character 'Language' abbreviation is not identical to
# the two character 'Country' code for its country,
# E.g. 'Danmark/dk' versus 'Danish/da'.
# Note 3: In the case of 'ltz' we violate the RFC by using a three char
# specifier. There is 'work in progress' to fix this and get
# the reference data for rfc1766 cleaned up.

========HTTPD.CONF==========I am modifying the correct httpd.conf file on the server, it just doesn't seem to work. - If I put the rewrite rules in the <Directory /> the rewrite works but it adds /Library/WebServer/Documents to the URL.
I also tried putting the rewrite rules in <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> but that did not work either.
mod_rewrite is enabled and running on the server.
I will post the rewrite rules again in the code brackets. Sorry for the long post. - If some one can try them out on their Leopard Server to see if they can get them to work, it would be much appreciated. Again, these work on my Leopard Client but I can't get them to work on Server.
-- The httpd.conf file posted above is just the default conf file found in /private/etc/apache2/

Using TV as display with mini dvi and hdmi connections
Hi
I want to use my flat screen tv as a display for my airbook. I have a mini dvi to hdmi connector (supplied with my mac) and an hdmi cable. When I connect, I can see my wallpaper on the tv and my cursor but nothing else. I can move the cursor on the tv with the trackpad on my mac but there are no icons, toolbars etc. What am I doing wrong and can anyone help?If you want to see your desktop (icons, menus, etc.) you need to go into Apple Menu: System Preferences -> Displays and select "Mirror Display" under the Arrangement tab. There is also an option that allows you to move the menu bar over to the external display.

How to change the Name and/or Alias of a Public Folder Mailbox in Exchange 2013
So when I migrated our servers from 2010 to 2013. I did not plan well and ended up with this.
Name Alias
Mailbox1 PF1
Mailbox2 Mailbox2
Mailbox3 Mailbox3
As you can see the first mailbox is named PF1. I want to be able to change both the name and the alias, but have failed to find mechanism for doing so in ecp or powershell. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I would also like to change the email address
for these as right now they are [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]
Thank you very muchSet-Mailbox -Identity Mailbox1 -PublicFolder -Name NewName1 -Alias NewName1 -PrimarySMTPAddress [email protected]
