Uml tools for jdeveloper

hi
is there any UML Tools for JDeveloper that works on windows and mac or any one of them that does code engineering and database modeling also ?

It includes Class diagrams, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, use case diagrams, etc.
Basically create a new application + project, then via the New Gallery (File -> New), select General -> UML in the New Gallery Dialog, and on the right hand side are the UML options.

[ot] A UML tool for a new Java project

I am working on the new Java project and need a UML tool to get it start. I am wondering whether anyone one can recommend such tool or not. It can be either stand alone or as an Eclipse plug-in. It shall be able to handle at least 50 classes.

I have only used the personal edition at home, and the other versions have more functionality available
My impressions, FWIW, are
- easier to use than rational rose (I find this one which I have to use at work to be a pain), although, paradoxically enough, they are not that dissimilar in appearance
- I was able to create some reasonably complex models without any problems
- easy to install and start using - no great learning curve
- I tried importing a model I had exported from rose and that did not work very well at all.
- this applies to version 2.2

No. Many people use Jasper Reports (http://jasperreports.sourceforge.net/) for their reporting. It's free and opensource. You define your reports in xml and you can create text, html and pdf reports.
You can also try to use html for reporting. I've used it on a project with pretty good results. The benefit is that you probably don't need to learn a new tool/language.
We generated the html using velocity, layout was done using css. You can remove the default headers, footer and page margins added by internet explorer by setting some registry keys:

Tools to upload data into SRM 7.0 with webdynpro for ABAP

Webdynpro for abap is used in SRM70.
I need to load data in SRM70 (product category...).
ECATT is not working with web dynpro for abap.
What other tools can i use to load data in SRM70 ? LSMW ?
I would like to avoid to create a Z program to load data into SRM70...

I am not aware much.
Product category is a permanent data right . i think we may not frequently change the data right.
Does your business want very frequent update on product category?
I believe if we make frequent changes/modify of data we may use LSMW .
i think your zprogram is a best method to upload the product category.
As you aware we can not change the product category as per standard.For eg. If i create a local product category /hierarchy .Even i can not rename them.
category/hierarchy creation are one time activity in SRM.
please correct me.

I still prefer PFE (Programmers File Editor) to an IDE.

Error during DatabaseCopy using SAP tools for SQL Server (v7.12)

I'm trying to perform a system copy from PRD to QAS. The database has been mounted to QAS via detach and attach method. I did a DBCC on the database and everything looks OK. I'm running SAPINST (SAP Tools for MSSQL) and selecting the Database Copy option. The source database has a schema of DBO. Both PRD and QAS are running SAP 4.7/Basis 620. The target schema is QAS. SAPINST fails in step 2 (Define Params) with:
"This service cannot be used for a system with SAP ABAP release 620"
Is this message misleading? Has anyone receive this message before.
UPDATE:
I donwloaded the latest version of SAP Tools for MSSQL and now it failes during the execution phase on step, "Convert DB objects to new schema".

This is looks like permission issue on source folder
Copy source in to your local drive and try again.
I had same issue and able to resolve after copy EXP1 EXP2 and EXP3 folder in to local drive C: with Everyone full access

Are there any uml tools on linux ?

I'm looking for a simple uml tool in linux.Because I'm doing my excercise from school and I want to do it in linux instead of switching to windows. And at least, it can import and export uml file from staruml.

I'd suggest Umbrello from KDE SC. It is outstanding tool. The only issue — it is not very stable, so you should save your progress frequently.
From it's advantages I'd like to mention
1. UML is virtually backed by code (dunno, how to explain correctly), this is not only a graphic editor. You can create, f.ex. custom datatypes, make all possible relations, and all your actions will be then represented as graphics.
2. It supports usecase diagrams, class, component, deployment and relation diagrams. Moreover, for the last type it can generate a valid SQL code.
Ideally, it should generate code for class diagrams too, but the last time I used it, this feature was only declared, but not implemented. At least, for Java.
Also there are Java ArgoUML and Violet.
The first one is also a real UML editor and is even better than Umbrello, it has no relation diagrams, but supports flowcharts, sequence diagrams and some more.
And the other is just a graphic editor, like DIA.
