Ummm, is there any type of Final Cut Trial?
I edit movies and I want to see if Final Cut is good? So I want to try Final Cut to check it out and if I like it I will buy it.
No trials as far as I know, so the only thing I can suggest is to do a lot of research online. It does have a somewhat steep learning curve (and I only have the Final Cut Express version).

Your license is not for just one computer, it is valid for all computers that you own and control. This is true for the all the apps you buy in the App store. -

Not exactly true ... While they may seem to serve a similar function, Closed Captioning and Subtitling are two distinctly different things. Subtitles can be used on DVD-Video and turned on or off by the user via the remote (or defaulted to on by the author). Subtitles are also used by film makers releasing their films in foreign language countries.
On the other hand, Closed Captioning is encoded into line 21 of an NTSC video signal. CC is received and decoded by TV sets (required on ALL TV sets sold in the U.S.) as mandated by FCC ruling several years ago and more recently required by law under provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Since it's inception, CC inclusion was a very expensive process and remained in the realm of specialized service companies for many years. With the recent passing of the FCC's deadline for almost ALL broadcast programing (with few exceptions) to be closed-captioned, I would think/hope that NLE vendors, like Apple, Avid and others would incorporate CC capabilities into their programs. Is there any type of network compression for sql
I have a user trying to spool a select statement that is close to a 2 gig text file when its done..
the statement runs in 3 minutes when run on a sql client connected to a 1gig full duplex network..
but when connected to a 100Mb/half duplex network it takes 7 hours..
the obvious fix would be to upgrade the clients network.. but thats not my call.. and isn't going to happen..
I've offered to schedule it local, zip it, and send the zip.. but they don't want that..
is there any type of compression setting that could be specified..I don't believe there is to be honest, but I haven't poured through all the documentation. Don't think so. Years ago, I seemed to figure out a way in an earlier version of fcp, but when I tried to recreate it, I couldn't make it work.
You can send to compressor and save custom presets there. -

Additionally, there are routine maintainance issues that need to occur nightly, weekly and monthly on your Mac which it would automatically carry out on it's own if it were left turned on all the time. Is there a solution to Final Cut's EPIC delay?
I have been using Final Cut pro x for almost a year now and I am just blown away by it. I can't believe how slow it can run, even after I upgraded to 16gb of ram.
I am using Final Cut Event manager to manage my files, I have an external HDD with my files on there, I have more than 20% free space on my computer and HDD, 16gb Ram, I'm not using any other programs, but STILL Final Cut is so delayed. If I even just drag the cursor, the spinning beach ball comes up...
Its driving me crazy and I Just don't understand- for this much money how can it work so poorly? I know its not my computer because its brand new and works fine with other applications... I even just upgraded Final Cut x so I know its the most recent version...
It seems like Final Cut runs extra slow when my externall HDD is plugged in but I obviously need it plugged in when I use final cut.
I checked out how my computer is running and it says theres 12gb RAM free even when Final Cut is open, so it can't be the RAM...
Literally 1 hr projects are taking me hours and hours to complete because of how delayed Final Cut is.. I'm not even color correcting or anything, just editing clips but when I do anything the beach ball ALWAYS comes up for atleast a second... Is there a solution to this? Please and thank you.

Can't launch ANY of the Final Cut Studio apps
As some of you may have seen, when I was reinstalling all of my old software, I couldn't go to FCP 6.0.4. So I uninstalled Final Cut Studio and got rid of everything the Final cut studio uninstaller didn't get rid of (live type data, etc)
Then I updated to 10.5.5
Then I reinstalled Final Cut Studio and ran software update. Everything updated fine and then I went to launch the programs for the first time and ALL of them say they unexpectedly quit. Should I have launched them once before updating? I DO have all the up-to-date versions this time, but I can't open any of them. I'd hate to have to reinstall all this AGAIN as it takes forever to do so.
Anyone know how to fix this?No, I know that. Sorry I didn't mention it here.
This is what the console is telling me. I had used the Final Cut Studio uninstaller before reinstalling. My copy is an upgrade version, but everything installed and updated OK. They just won't launch

Can't Export Any Videos From Final Cut Pro X?
Hello all-
I just downloaded FInal Cut Pro X today, and as I tried exporting my first video to YouTube, I found I had no luck. I am able to select the option to export to YouTube, enter in my account details, edit the video preferences, but when I click submit nothing happens. The little export box just disappears. This happens for every single one of my share options.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I'm a little peeved that I just spent 300 dollars on a software that doesn't even let me export the video.
