UMX - Can I setup Data Security in UMX similar to Security Rules?

Hi;
Is it possible to setup something similar to Security Rules in UMX? I would like to grant the same Role to different users, and assign these users different security. All my reading of UMX so far has pointed me to creating objects and granting security permissions, but I don't know how to go about implement it. If one of you has successfully implemented this, can you please share your steps?

Hi Al,
restricting FND... Tables is maybe not the best idea. You should always use standard functionality to achieve the same (if available).
1/ Is your request related to an Oracle Standard Form, if yes, which one?
2/ Do you talk about the GL Code Combination? Would you like to restrict a value from this segment?
3/ Data Security is a very low level technique, if you use it, such a person where the rule is enabled can never and nowhere see "removed" lines (values). Not in other forms, not in reports, not in interfaces or concurrent requests. So if you use it, be very careful.

"The NT and Windows 2000 versions of iPlanet Web Proxy Server 3.6 do not support SSL".
Sun One Web Proxy Server is as same as iPlanet webproxy server.
May be in future relase of proxy server SSL will be supported in Win2000.

Heirarchical data security

How can I setup a security heirarchy w/in BAM, e.g. I can only seem my records and Max can only see her records, but Phil - our manager - can see both our records?

I tried but still i don't see the security filter.Do i need to configure my NQSconfigfile.ini.Security filter status in Repository is Enable.We implemented fragmentation in logical fact,anyway that shouldn't matter as per my guess.

We are implementing Oracle Siebel Analytics and Custom datawarehousing using Oracle 9i DB. I am interested to know if we can implement consistent data security model for different data marts. Means with one single data warehouse, I want to implement data security model or policies in one place and they are applied consistently across all of the datamarts.
1. Can we or oracle support this kind of secinerio.
2. If yes, what would be perfect model an example will be helpful, and if not what best approach is available to resolve this security model.

Hi, Do you also get some other packages names that the error msg reports like ...
RPE-01012 Cannot deploy PL/SQL maps to the target schema because it is not owned by the Control Center and "SOME WRT.... package names" I think once did I face this and made sure that the repository user has some packages granted through OWBREPOS_OWNER/OWB_REPOS_OWNER to the user you are using to run the mapping.

I am trying to set up UMX (including function and data security) for Purchasing. Oracle Support states that Purchasing has not adopted data security in their UIs. Is there a way to create my own own objects and instance sets? For example, User A can only see POs that begin with '5' and User B can only see POs that begin with '6'.
Any help with how the integration between UMX and the core apps would help.

If you don't want to go to all the trouble of setting up formulas each time you do this, and making sure the new table is the correct dimensions in the destination table, etc, just run this Automator Service. (Dropbox download)
After double-clicking the .workflow package to install (you may need to click 'Download Anyway' in System Preferences > Privacy & Security) it will look something like this in your Services menu:

To remove or rename the Service, in Finder hold down the option key and in the menu Go > Library > Mobile Documents > com~apple~Numbers and delete or rename the way you would any item in Finder.
You can view the short AppleScript the service contains by opening it in Automator.

Yes, big time. Mail, for sure, has a different file/folder structure, and would not be happy.

Just as you do now. By default, Time Machine backs-up everything (except things like system work files, most caches and logs, trash) for all users and all internal drives & partitions. By default, it excludes external drives.

Good. Yes, clones are different. You need multiple "tasks" to back up multiple drives/partitions. But once set up, that shouldn't be a big deal.

you can define your user level on oracle form,but these user only work on form level not on database level direct,you can make a proper setup form or role form to provide access to different user but you must mentioned these security on each transactional form.You also make a global procedure as security which maintain security only on form.Hope it'll helpful for you.

TV Setup stuck on Downloading TV Setup Data

Windows 7 - 32bit - Media Center Live TV setup.
TV Setup stuck on "Downloading TV Setup Data for your region" trying to download information for my country (Italy).
My TV Tuner is Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-T-Stick

I have the same issue and have left the media center in this "Downloading TV Setup Data" for over 2 hours and... nothing it just stops its updating process. The little meter never moves any further than its initial 1 dot. This sucks. If the media center in Windows 7 with isnt going to work with a newer Hauppauge WinTV card, then I will never buy it. I will just stay with WinXp & go with the BeyondTV software.

I also thought that it may be because of the WIndows firewall blocking the tranfer, so I shut it down. This is a fairly new install, with no added security or firewall or blocking type softwares added..

Ive checked for updates... nothing... no fix anywhere... any ideas?

Can you please explain more regarding to move setup from DEV to PROD instance.The steps are documented in the iSetup manual, so have you gone through the documentation?
Also we would install PROD with multi tier nodes, and HA cluster. So in that case what would be the change to move the setups from DEV to PROD, as DEV is single node TEST APPS 12 installation.iSetup is helpful in moving the functional setup between the two instances. If you want to create an identical copy of your DEV instance to PROD instance (provided that both instances contain no data), then you can use "Rapid Clone" -- See (Note: 799735.1 - Rapid Clone Documentation Resources, Release 11i and 12).

We want to use the same kind of security security as we used to doin Essbase using filters. We want to control the access to data fordifferent users. I read about row level security in HyperionIntelligence but it might not be a good option since almost everyuser has different access. Is anyone doing anything like this using Performance Suite? A user coming from the outside(Untrusted security level 0) will connect to IIS server in the DMZ(Trusted security level 50) with a port 443 to a PIX 515 , the IIS server has a application called Detour Service(Service transparently reroutes any TCP connection from one IP Port to any other IP Port) will initiate a connection to Microsoft server exchange to the inside(trusted security level 100).

Actually the connection from lower security level to higher security level is blocked. You can apply an access list to limit traffic from inside to outside, or allow traffic from outside to inside. For transparent firewall mode, you can also apply an EtherType access list to allow non-IP traffic.

How can I modify data from a Transparent Table (like TCURR), and important thing is I want do all that with no ABAP code here. It is like that we always do that in a Oracle database use TOAD or PLSQL third party tools, with no script code here.
I had fond that there is a way can do that:
1, type 'se11',and Display Database table 'TCURR', click Contents, then click Execute to display all data
2, type '/h' and let debugging on
3, select one of this data then click 'Display',enter in debugging system.
4, then make a breakpoint in the code. But... display a dialog let I type a 'ABAP Cmnds', I want to know what can be type in for that?

Your approach (with Vijay's suggestion) MAY work. However, depending on how tight security is at the company that you are working at you may or may not be able to acutaly change the value of the SHOW field to EDIT. This will be especially true if you are working in a Production environment. Vijay's other comment is true as well. This is not a recommended approach to change data (especially data with a financial impact like TCURR) in a production environment. The auditors will not be impressed.
Explore the option of a maintenace view or look at tcode TBDM to upload a file which includes daily rates from providers like Reuters or try tcode s_bce_68000174 which is a maintenance view on TCURR.
