Unable to accept security certificate

I have a private website running that I connect to via stunnel. On my laptop I get the error message that the security certificate is not valid. On my desktop I am able to press the "I understand the risks" button, on my laptop this button isn't present.
How can I fix this?

  • Webtop Client has to accept security certificate at each login

    Hello again,
    another issue we currently are facing is that users who are connecting via the webtop client (btw the NC works way better, in ways of printing perfomance and login speed) have to accept the security warning EVERY time:
    "The Secure Global Desktop server you're connecting to is using an untrusted or unrecognized security certificate.
    Accept the certificate only if you are sure there is no security risk. If you are unsure, click Don't Accept and contact an Administrator (you won't be able to log in)...." and then it says "you are connecting for the first time blabla"...
    This only happens when connecting to the classic Tarantella subsystem only, not to the SGD.
    Any hints?

    JoergJoerg,
    it'd be great to know which version of SSGD you're playing with.
    I assume this is version 4.3x but assumptions do not always work :-)
    If the above stands, the release notes for SSGD 4.31 say:
    === cut here === 8< ===
    Protecting Clients Against Unauthorized Servers
    As the SGD Client can now start and log in automatically, it is vital that users only
    connect to a host that is trusted. In this release, users must explicitly authorize the
    connection to SGD.
    When a user connects to a SGD host for the first time, they see an Untrusted Initial
    Connection warning message that asks them whether they really want to connect to
    the host. The message displays the host name and fingerprint of the security
    certificate for the server they are connecting to. Users should check these details
    before clicking Yes. Once a user agrees to the connection, they are not prompted again
    unless there is a problem.
    To ensure that users only connect to SGD servers that are trusted, SGD
    Administrators should do the following:
    &#9632; Provide users with a list of host names and fingerprints for the servers that are
    trusted. Use the tarantella security fingerprint command on each
    member of the array to obtain a list of fingerprints.
    &#9632; Explain to users the security implications of agreeing to connect to server.
    In a fresh installation, each SGD host has its own self-signed security certificate.
    Administrators should obtain and install a valid X.509 certificate for each SGD host.
    Note If you are using the classic webtop, the Java technology client prompts users
    every time it connects to a SGD server. The SGD Native Client never prompts users.
    === cut here === 8< ===
    I think the above note is important.
    For testing, using OpenSSL I manually created a local CA and signed a Certificate Signing Request generated by SSGD (tarantella security certrequest...); once I imported both the SSGD server and the CA certificates into the browser, everything worked fine.
    Hope this helps.
    Best,
    Rob

  • There is a problem with the server's security certificate. The security certificate is not from a trusted certifying authority. SAP Business One is unable to connect to the server

    Hello,
    I have an issue with connecting client SB1H on Windows, the scenario is as follows:
    1.- Server:
         Suse Linux Enterprise Server 11.3 kernel version: 3.0.76-0.11 IBM
         NDB and Server are review 69 SP06
    2.- Client:
         Windows 8 Pro Virtual Machine on Microsoft Hyper-V
         SB1H PL 11 version 32bits
         SAP HANA Studio version 1.0.60
    When I run SB1H the following message appears:
    There is a problem with the server's security certificate. The security certificate is not from a trusted certifying authority. SAP Business One is unable to connect to the server.
    Any idea what could be the solution?

    Hi,
    Please check SAP notes:
       1993392 - Server components setup wizard: New default values for certificates and single sign-on option
    1929288 - Do not configure SSL for XApp during installation or upgrade if XApp is installed on a different machine than the SAP HANA server

  • How do I accept a previously rejected security certificate?

    I am trying to use a site that has a security certificate. I accidentally refused it. I now get the error message " cannot connect to Citrix XenApp server SSL Error 61: You have not chosen to trust 'COMODO High Assurance Server CA'
    How do I set Firefox to accept this certificate? (I want to unrefuse.)
    Thanks for the help. Joe Berkow [email protected]

    That is not a problem with Firefox.<br />
    You need to install that certificate in the Citrix local database.

  • Intermittent proxy error "There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server "

    Hi all,
    From time to time (at least once a day), the following message pops up on the user's screen:
    "There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server . Error Code 80000000)."
    If we click "OK" it goes away and everything continues to work although sometimes Outlook disconnects. It is quite annoying...
    Any ideas?
    Thank you in advance

    Hi,
    For the security alert issue, I'd like to recommend you check the name in the alert windows, and confirm if the name is in your certificate.
    Additionally, to narrow down the cause, when the Outlook client cannot connect again, I recommand you firstly check the connectivity by using Test E-mail AutoConfiguration. For more information, you can refe to the following article:

  • SAFARI 4.1.1 crashes when accepting a security certificate

    I used to do my banking online for the last 6 years until last week, when I reset my safari (all boxes except for my Bookmarks' history). I also removed a single database I had in storage under the security tab of my preferences. After last week, when I reset my Safari, I have not been able to log in my bank any longer. When I enter their website, I first set my agency number and account number as required by my bank and before typing my password I get the Security Certificate from my bank (issued by Verisign). But when I click on "Accept," SAFARI crashes (vanishes from the screen), almost as if under a "kill" command. I have been talking to the bank people, for every time they do an upgrade to their website Safari is the last thing to work on it (they are mostly Windows' users where I live). Yet they tell me everything is alright on their end ( I am not all sure of that). I am not sure if I did something wrong either, while I cannot decipher the crash log. So I am posting it down here in hope someone can help me. I also upgraded my JAVA to "Release 9" (now version 11.9.0 of the Java 1.4.2 Plugin Settings ; and v.11.9.0 (for J2SE5.0) of Java Web Start), since the support people asked me to check my Java program. I appreciate any help.
    Here is my crash report: (My Apple SW is up to date under Tiger)

    Alright, Thanks!
    I have posted the entire report I get each time Safari crashes. It only showed as I posted above. But I searched under Spotlight and I found the folder for the Console. I am enclosing the last entries for today only (the whole thing is very long), although this behavior started on the 30th (last week) or so.

  • Firefox (21.0) won't accept the security certificate for Twitter & won't let me add an exception.

    My mother was having problems with her computer on the Internet and had to reset the modem. Problem was, I was on the Internet at the time using Twitter. She reset the modem, I thought everything was okay, but now Firefox isn't letting me access Twitter at all because of the security certificate. Here's the error message:
    This Connection is Untrusted
    You have asked Firefox to connect
    securely to twitter.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
    Normally, when you try to connect securely,
    sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
    going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
    What Should I Do?
    If you usually connect to
    this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is
    trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
    twitter.com uses an invalid security certificate.
    The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is not trusted.
    The certificate is only valid for gateway.2wire.net
    (Error code: sec_error_untrusted_issuer)
    gatway.2wire.net is the default error page for my modem, if the Internet is not working at all. I think the problem here is that now Firefox thinks the legitimate site for Twitter is the error page and not, well, Twitter.com. Also, I'm not getting any "add exception" option. How do I fix this?

    Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
    "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

  • How do i deal with 'security certificate' issues on my iPad2? I'm unable to answer the security questions that pop up when Im trying to download an app because the pop up does not load properly...

    Basically my Ipad2 stopped allowing me to go to sites such as Tumblr a little while ago. It wouldn't display the page properly because of 'security certificate' issues. This in itself would not have been such a problem, but when I went to the App store to try and download the Tumblr App, a pop up appeared asking me to answer some security questions before I could successfully install the App. However, the pop up would not display correctly because of 'security certificate' issues and as a result I can't download any apps from the App Store. Can anyone help with this??

    Well, I maged to delete some stuff, download the update...
    My Mac mail is still not ok. Still only displays today, yesterday and everything is the 16th of the month previous to this?
    All a bit strange to say the least any suggestons on how to resolve this.

  • I am unable to get past the invalid security certificate warning.

    I get the message "Invalid security certificate" I click OK., and then the message disappears and I am not given the option to enter an exception and approve the site. It is the e-mail address for my office (state agency) and as a cost saving measure, they are not paying for a continued security certificate. How do I get to the "exception page?" Is there a security section in the FireFox program I need to change? I hate to have to switch to IE every time I want to check my office mail. Thanks for the assist.
    Tigerbeetle.

    If you can't add an exception, but get a pop-up with the error message then you can check the pref [http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.xul.error_pages.enabled browser.xul.error_pages.enabled] on the about:config page and make sure that the value is set to the true (default).
    To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />

  • There is a problem with the security certificate of the proxy server. Error code 18 and 38.

    Hi All,
    After several hours and a short night of sleep I'm out of ideas and hopefully someone here can help me trying to solve this one. First of all the situation:
    Exchange 2013 on a remote location with a CA-certificate.
    Outlook 2010 and 2013 on different locations, locally installed and on RDS.
    When I open Outlook on my laptop all is fine, no errors, good sync, no problem. But when I open Outlook on our Remote Desktop Servers with Outlook 2013 I'm getting errors like "There is a problem with the security certificate of the proxy server. The
    name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site. Outlook is unable to connect to this server. (Error code 18)". Opening Outlook 2010 the message is the same, but the error code now is 38.
    After this Outlook opens and is working, there's one more error though. After a while an security warning pops up with the message: "Information you exchange with this site cannot be viewed or changed by others. However, there is a problem with the
    site's security certificate. * The security certificate was issued by a company you have not chosen to trust. View the certificate to determine whether you want to trust the certifying authority. * The security certificate is valid. * The name on the security
    certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site."
    Strangest thing is, it is the certificate of my RDS! It isn't my valid en officially bought certificate from my mailserver. What's going on? I'm out of options, what I've tried so far (in random order):
    - restarting mailserver and AD;
    - restarting switches;
    - restarting routers;
    - restarting RDS, AD and all other servers;
    - bypassed proxyserver for RDS;
    - created a new profile;
    - checked recently installed updates;
    - checked certificate on mailserver;
    - checked RDS on a different location, working fine.
    Nothing helped, what can I do next? Please advice.
    Regards.

    Found a thread that solves half my problem (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/70d18244-889a-4d95-ac3f-e234672a82b2/there-is-a-problem-with-the-proxy-servers-security-certificate-error-when-starting-outlook?forum=exchangesvrclients).
    The first message can be suppressed by adding this to the Exchange config:
    set-outlookprovider -Identity EXCH -CertprincipalName msstd:webmail.domain.tld
    set-outlookprovider -Identity EXPR -CertprincipalName msstd:webmail.domain.tld
    Giving the command get-outlookprovider, gives me empty information regarding the certprinipalname. Filled
    this and after recreating the profile or deleting the ost-file I still have the second alert with the local certificate of my RDS.
    Not completely where I want to be, any help regarding the second alert is greatly appreciated!

  • How can I display content blocked by an invalid security certificate?

    I am using Firefox 30.0 which I installed to replace IE8. I log in to my health insurance site. When I try to go to the Provider Directory Search (PDS), nothing happens. I thought the PDS might be a pop-up so I tried both making the web page a pop-up exception and then also just turning the pop up blocker off completely. Neither helped.
    I then tried to access the same PDS page via IE8 and IE8 displayed a “Content was blocked because it was not signed by a valid security certificate” error page. Also, IE8 displayed a bar with options that allowed me to display blocked content regardless of the status of the security certificate. The PDS page then displayed.
    I went back to FF30 and tried again. The PDS page did not display and no error message nor options bar was displayed. Next, I tried finding an option related to this problem. Options/Security had nothing for Security Certificates. Options/Advanced/Security seemed to deal with security certificates my copy of FF30 would provide to web sites and not the web sites certificates provided to me. I tried clicking on the “lock” icon of the page from which I should be transferred to the PDS page. The security certificate information displays but I could not see any option that would help me and this is the security certificate from the previous page anyway and not the PDS page that is being blocked.
    If I could just get a Security Certificate error to display, I was hoping I would then be given the option of displaying the blocked content anyway. Without even an FF30 error condition being displayed (as does IE8), I am unable to proceed.
    Ideas about what to try would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Claude

  • Cannot access common websites security certificate not trusted

    I am unable to get to many frequently accessed websites from either Chrome or Safari due to Security Certificate Trust issues. I have been attempting to access Paypal all afternoon without success, as there is no "Proceed anyway" button. I was only able to reach this forum by selecting "Proceed anyway"(!) Other machines on my local network accessing the web via UVerse are not having difficulties, so it seems to be Mavericks specific.

    This solved my problem:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/18508863#18508863
    I solved this on my wife's computer by resetting the security certificate settings.  This might help others:
    Close all windows.
    Keychain Access ->  click on System Roots on the left, and then click on Certifcates on the bottom left.
    Check to see if any of the certificates on the right have the blue "+" symbol - this means they have custom trust settings.
    There is a bug in changing the policies, so you'll have to change them via the method below.  Changing them just by changing the access to "system defaults" doesn't seem to save.  The method below worked for me.
    Double-click on each certificate with the custom setting (blue "+"), expand the section labled "trust".  Change the "Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)" setting to "no value specified".  Close window - you should be prompted for the password.  Double-click on the certificate again, expand trust, change the "When using this certificate" setting to "Use System Defaults".  Close window, and re-enter password.
    If you didn't re-enter your password upon closing the window, the setting didn't take.  The blue "+" should disappear after a few seconds when it's set back to default.  Once all of the certificates are changed back to default, restart Safari.
    This solved all of the problems for my wife's computer with these issues and OSX 10.7.4

  • Window 8.1 update & invalid security certificate errors

    I set up my new PC 2 days ago running Windows 8.1. I was able to visit all websites, including secure ones, w/no issues via Firefox. Last night, suddenly I was unable to access many secure websites. These include Google (Gmail) & Ilines (email). Here is a copy of the Google error:
    "mail.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)"
    There is no button to bypass, as I have seen in the past. I tried deleting cert8.db which didn't resolve anything. I have also tried adding exceptions which also don't resolve the issue.
    I searched support & found the link for the MS document (link below) indicating that FF & Windows Family Safety certificates are not playing nice.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2965142/en-us#appliesto
    I tried to follow the guide, but when I get to step 6, there is no Microsoft Family Safety Certificate in the Trusted Root Certificates Authorities to export. For reference, I do not specifically have Family Safety enabled & am running my PC as admin, no other users. I personally have no use for this but it is my understanding that it cannot be uninstalled, either.
    I have spent hours researching & making adjustments to different settings to no avail. It is frustrating enough setting up a new PC & transferring info w/out this extra hassle. Does anyone have any other suggestions? FF is my preferred browser, but if this can't be resolved I will need to use something else so that I can access these important websites.

    Thanks for the feedback cor-el. Here are the results:
    1. Installed Kaspersky certificate per link= no change
    2. Turned off Kaspersky= able to log in to Gmail but not the other secure sites I am having probs with
    3. Booted in Safe Networking mode= able to log in to Gmail but not the other secure sites. Same blocking errors on Gmail, etc when returned to reg mode.
    Just FYI, I get 2 different secure connection errors:
    Gmail: "mail.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)"
    Ilines: "Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to mail.ilines.net. Peer's certificate has an invalid signature. (Error code: sec_error_bad_signature)"

  • The server's security certificate is not yet valid!

    I am getting this message with Google Chrome to access https sites (facebook.com for instance.
    This message is only received with my primary user, other users function properly.
    The system clock is set automatically and is showing the correct date.
    Advancing the system time setting manually about 2.5 month or so the browser returns an "expired" message.
    I am in web development and cannot simply replace my default user.
    Is there anywhere I can look to see what is causing this error?

    Hi krudesill,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
    Are you seeing the same security certificate issue in Safari? The article linked below provides some information and a troubleshooting suggestion that may resolve the issue.
    OS X Mavericks: If your certificate isn’t being accepted
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14003
    If a certificate is not accepted, it may have expired or it may be invalid for the use to which it is being applied. For example, some certificates may be used for establishing a secure connection to a server but not for signing a document.
    The most common reason a certificate isn’t accepted is that the certificate authority’s root certificate isn’t trusted by your computer. Before your computer will trust a certificate authority, you must add the certificate authority to a keychain and set the certificate trust settings.
    Some apps (such as Safari) display the root certificate from the certificate authority as part of the message from the certificate authority. In this case, drag the root certificate icon to the desktop.
    Drag the certificate file onto the Keychain Access icon, or double-click the certificate file.
    Choose a keychain from the pop-up menu, then click OK.If you’re asked, type the name and password for an administrator user on this computer.
    Select the certificate, then choose File > Get Info.
    Click the Trust Settings disclosure triangle to display the trust policies for the certificate.
    To override the trust policies, select new trust settings from the pop-up menus.
    I hope this helps.
