Unable to access all contacts in address book

Hello
I've been having lots of small problems with my BB Curve and the most recent one being that I can't access some of my contacts in the address book.
I recently installed the new Facebook upgrade and think this might have something to do with it but not sure.
I can access some contacts by going into the address book and then pressing menu and view but on others, I can't do that. It seems to be affecting random contacts and not particular to any one ie. new contacts or older contacts. I've checked the filters and nothing is checked and also the memory shows I have 127 contacts. I've also done a battery pull and checked the software via device manager but nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this?
Thanks.

There "could" be a bug in the Facebook 1.7 app upgrade.
see here:  http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/FB-App-1-7-linked-contacts-bug/m-p...
Before anything else, do a simple reboot of the device.
With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
The check your missing address again.
If you compose an email, can you pull up a missing name in the TO: area of the email?

  • How to delete ALL contacts in Address Book 10.6.3.(1091) in Macbook?

I made no effort ever to add the contents of my iPhone to my Macbook. Ever. Right now in my Skype app that I have only Just downloaded have I just found ALL of my iPhone contacts in it's contact list. NOT GOOD. I am looking for a way to remove my iPhone phone book from the Address Book on my Mac and then remove ALL those same contacts from the Skype contact list.
I am now removing my iPhone contacts from Address Book on my Macbook one by one manually. Is there a shorter way of doing this?

    Are you using iCloud?
What is the file format you intend to use to import contacts? If it an Address Book Backup (.abbu) then perhaps you can import it. That would delete your entire Address Book and replace it with the backup.
I might suggest simply moving your entire ~/Library/Application Support/Address Book folder to the Desktop. That seems rather drastic though, and if your contacts are stored in iCloud it might not make a difference.

  • Lost all contacts in Address Book. How can I restore them?

I have inadvertently deleted all my contacts from Address Book, as a result of trying to delete them all from MS Outlook. (I deleted them from Outlook and they all vanished from Address Book too)
I gather I can restore them using Time Machine, which I have set up on a Time Capsule, but I've never used it before.
What is it that I restore to get my contacts back into Address Book please? I have tried restoring Address Book itself, but that doesn't seem to restore my contacts.

restoring the address book, restores the application but not the files.
Launch Address Book application and while opened, Launch the Time machine by clicking on its icon on the dock. Go back in time, confirm if you see all your contacts. This is what you need to establish and KNOW first else forget Time machine since its not there.
If its there, select all your contacts command + A then hit restore
If its not there. It will be difficult bringing it back, il be honest. you can go for data recovery but that's 50-50

  • Can not post all contacts from address book group

I created a contact list with 132 entries for a social club that I belong to in Address Book.  When I create a message and add the group in the BCC field it will only post 99 contacts.
I tried dragging and dropping the group and typing the group name in the Bcc field and I always end up with just 99. I checked all the addresses and they all seem legit. It took me quite a long time to add all these fields and now I am so discouraged. Any ideas at all please.

Glad it working. I couldn't remember if Lion had a limit but usually it's your ISP that limits sending to a group. In the past it used to be 50 contacts but now most let you send up to 200 in a group.
It's best to put yourself in the To line and add group to BCC for privacy. If you don't have a To recipient some ISPs put the BCC in To.

  • Lost all Contacts in Address Book

I had over 500 contacts in my Address Book. Recently I had a problem with my iPhone and the Apple Store gave me a new one. I synched it with my computer a couple of times and ended up with duplicates of my contacts. I manually removed the duplicates on my phone. I also have a MobileMe account set to synch my contacts, mail, calendar. A couple of days ago I realized that my Address Book on my Mac was empty. All contacts gone! I tried to restore them from Time Machine but it only brought back 40 contacts. I've spent hours with online support for MobileMe. No help at all. New contacts put on the iPhone and Calendar items do synch back to my iMac. AppleCare for iPhone couldn't help me either. I've been a .mac user for a couple of years and have backups going back that far but no has been able to tell me how to recover my Contacts file. Any ideas?

Mobile Me has had such bad issues over the past week or two...
With address book on the Mac, you simply select all the contacts and drag them on to your desktop and this will make one big Address book export file, that'll enable you to save and import it later on...
however it sounds like you are past that point, have you looked deep in to you ~/library folder for any scraps of data??? sadly, it sounds like it's gone, I had the same thing on launch day of Mobile Me... the MobileMe cloud deleted EVERYTHING, thank goodness I had a backup of the address book from a few months ago...
Time Machine is one of the most buggy backup softwares I've ever used, and wouldn't recommend it for any serious user yet.
I'm sorry this is probably not the news you want to hear!!!
Have you ever made backups manually NOT using time machine???

  • New phone doesn't show all contacts in address book.

    Hi,
I just acquired a Blackberry Curve 8310, previous phone is a Razr. I put the sim card into the blackberry, then went to "import contacts from sim card." Upon doing this, some of my contacts showed up, not all of them. Is there a step I missed, am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks,
    Emil

    okay.
    so my bet is :
back when you used your Motorola, some of your contacts were stored on the SIM card (and you have them on your device now)
and some of your contacts were stored on the internal memory of your Mototorola.
you have to either use the Motorola PC suite to transfer your contacts t your PC, or putthe SIM back on the Motorola and copy the contacts from the Motorola memory tothe SIM card.

I there a fix for this yet?
Why would there be a fix?  YOU are having the problem.  I'm not, no one I know is having the problem.  No fix is needed.
Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.  Have you been through any, if not all of these troubleshooting steps yet?

  • How can I delete all my contacts in Address Book?

I had syncing issues between my Entourage 2008 contacts, my Address Book contacts, and the PowerMac for Blackberry application. As a reference, I have around 5,000 contacts. I have solved the issue, but there is some collateral damage: read on.
Address Book duplicated my contacts two or three times, and it also created around 60,000 empty contacts. I have been able to clean the Entourage contacts, which only suffered from duplication but not from new empty entries.
I tried to delete the Address Book duplicate and empty entries. The easy way out, I thought, was to Select All and delete. It does not work. Given I have ended with around 80,000 contacts, after I Select All, and try to delete, the program hangs, and I have to Force Quit the Address Book application.
I tried to locate the Address Book file where contacts are stored, but I have not found an obvious name that would point to it, nor have I read anything about such file in the different discussion forums. So no success on this.
I have even used scripts in the past for deleting duplicates and merging contacts in Entourage, but I have not found one for Address Book that could take care of the massive number of empty entries with "No Name".
So, is there a way to delete all my contacts in Address Book?

There are two possibilities you can try:
    1. Delete all your duplicate entries. You can try downloading and running this Applescript Remove Duplicates, which will create a group named Duplicates in Address Book, from which you should be able to delete those entries, by selecting the Group, then in the next column to the Right, select all the entries and choose Delete Cards from the Edit menu.
    2. If that doesn't work, you can do this:
    1. Quit Address Book if it's running.
    2. Go to ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook and delete an of these files/folders you find there:
    • ABPerson.skIndex
    • ABPerson.skIndexInverted
    • Address Book - xxxxx.abbu
    • AddressBook.data
    • AddressBook.data.beforesave
    • AddressBook.data.previous
    • Images
    • LastImport.plist
    3. Restart Address Book and see if the default cards are there (Apple card, and your Me card) and if all seems to be working correctly.

  • IPhone 3G doesn't pick up all the contacts in Address Book

I just laboriously entered a bunch of new contacts in Address Book. When I sync to iPhone with iTunes (7.7), most of them show up as expected. But about 30% of them are just not there. No entry at all on the phone, but I can still see them plain as day in Address Book. I tried setting the "Replace information on this iPhone" "Contacts" check box in iTunes and re-synching, with the same effect. From Address Book, I don't see anything particularly in common between the missing names (they mostly have both a phone number and an email just like the many contacts that made it OK). Any ideas?

Huh, well I just poked around in Address Book (on the Mac) for a while, and it (then) became convinced that it was time for a save. So I did (File->Save) And then the synch found the rest. So odd, though. I know that one of the contacts missing was the first one I entered! Between this and very funky behavior after importing vCard files from google (which was so bad I had to wipe the whole thing out), I can't say I'm so impressed with Address Book.

  • Unable to send mail to importet contacts via address book

    Hi all,
I've searched the web without finding a solution to my issue with one of my users, so I had to create my own thread.
My issue is that one of my newly employed users importet a large amount of contacts (over 3000) from his previous workplace (which worked after a little trouble via manually importing a .pst file), but when he tries to add contacts to a mail via address
book and send the mail, he receives a mail back with "the following recipient(s) cannot be reached"
I can resolve the issue by copying the mail address, under the contacts profile, and pasting it in the "Email" field, basically retyping the same mail. The mail will then go through without any return mail stating the above error. I could do the
same for all 3000 contacts, BUT that is a lot of time needed, which I would really like to avoid.
We are running Exchange 2010 and Office 2013.
I'm hoping for a fix from one of the clever minds in here!
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
Does the issue happen when sending mails to all these 3000 contacts? Please send test message by adding other contacts to a mail via Contacts in Address Book to check whether the issue can be reproduced.
Please make sure the latest patches and service packs are installed for your Outlook 2013. Additionally, please try the following test to narrow down the issue:
    1. Please switch to People panel in Outlook, click a imported contact, click Email in HOME tab. Then send a message to check whether this message can be sent successfully.
    2. Please open the Contact PST file in Outlook instead of import PST file. Then do step 1 to send test message and check whether the issue persists.
If the issue doesn’t happen when sending message to contacts in opened PST file, it indicates the Contacts which is saved in the PST file should be correct. The issue may be related to Contact resolved in Outlook client. Please create a new Outlook contact
or create a new Outlook profile to have a try.

  • Unable to create or edit AD (mail) contacts in address book

    Hi!
I recently imported quite a list of contacts from an old CRM application into Exchange. All entries are nicely created in domain.local\company\location\Contacts. All fields are visible in Outlook under All Address Lists\All Contacts.
As we have a small company, just a few users, I want to give most of them the rights to create and update entries in the All Contacts folder, just as they were used to in the old app.
I started by creating role groups following this article:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/rmilne/archive/2013/08/07/creating-rbac-role-to-delegate-contact-management.aspx
I created an Admin Role group named Contact Administration, which contains the required Members, and I assigned two role groups to this group: Contact_Management, which is based on the Mail Recipient Creation parent group, and Contact_Management_2,
which is based on the Mail Recipient parent group. The Write Scope is: domain.local\company\location\Contacts.
Because this didn't result in anyone being able to update the contacts, I also created a group in Active Directory and delegated control on the contacts OU to this group, even though I think this doesn't add to the desired result (as it indeed didn't).
What am I missing here? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hi
As per the information and details provided by you, to create or edit a mail contact in address book, please follow these steps: -
Use the Shell to create a contact
This example creates mail contact for Debra Garcia in Exchange Server 2013
New-MailContact -Name "Debra Garcia" -ExternalEmailAddress [email protected] -OrganizationalUnit Users
This example creates a mail contact for Alan Shen in Exchange online.
New-MailContact -Name "Alan Shen" -ExternalEmailAddress [email protected]
    3.     This example mail-enables an existing contact named Karen Toh in Exchange Server 2013.
Enable-MailContact -Identity "Karen Toh" -ExternalEmailAddress [email protected]
    To add a contact: -
You can use the EAC to change selected properties for multiple mail contacts. When you select two or more mail contacts from the contacts lit in the EAC, the properties that can be bulk edited are displayed in the Details pane. When you change one of these properties, the change applies to all selected recipients.
When you bulk edit mail contacts, you can change the following properties areas: -
    ·        Contact Information: - Change shared properties such as street, postal code, and city name.
    ·        Organization: - Change shared properties such as department name, company name, and the manager that the selected mail contact or mail users report to.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

Address Book has no global find/replace. Bob Grove suggested one possible workaround; however, a grep-capable text editor (eg, TextWrangler) is better than TextEdit if complex strings are involved.
An alternative is Bento (which is designed specifically to interact with the AB database), but it's not free.
