Unable to access Firewall (tab turns grey). What is happening?
I recently upgraded from Lion to Mountain Lion. Before the upgrade I was able to change my Firewall settings. Now, every time I access Security & Privacy (after unlocking) and click on the Firewall tab I am unable to to anything. It remains unaccessible and the tab turns grey. What is happening is there any way I can change my setting to allow incoming connection to iTunes from Apple TV. I have even tried changing ipfw rules (ip and tcp) using Waterproof but that has done nothing.
Try using another browser. You can try Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. If it is not able to do it on another browser, try another computer. If it is not going to work, re-flash the router’s firmware.

There is no way to get around a lost passcode for restriction other than to reset the device (delete ALL data) and start from scratch. You can't perform a restore because the passcode will come back (unless the backup is one before you added the passcode).

Firewall tab greyed out in System Preferences - have I been hacked?

I am running 10.4.11. In System Preferences, under Sharing, the Firewall tab is greyed out, suggesting my firewall is not running or has been tampered with.
So I did some poking:

If I want to reset and restart my Firewall, how do I do that, if the tab is greyed out in System Preferences?
If I want to load a backup copy of my firewall configuration, what file do I need to copy from my backup disk? There is no /etc/firewall.conf on my system.
Thanks.As I recall, if you do any sort ipfw stuff in command line under Tiger, that that made Sharing > Firewall gray out. Try doing a sudo ipfw flush then see if that lets you reconfigure from Sys Prefs.
This article discusses Tiger's default firewall settings with web sharing turned on. That will give you a start in seeing what you should have on. This article may help a little, too, if you are running services or have certain softwares doing different things (gaming, etc.)

What happens when you try ? Does the Mail app open, does it appear frozen ?
Have you tried closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app ? From the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
Unable to receive internet connection over wifi connection. Shows that I am connected to the network, but do not have internet access. Checked my firewall and turned it off. What else am I missing or should be doing differently?
You might want to try resetting your router and your modem - just unplug the cords, leave them unplugged for about 3-5 minutes and then replug the modem and then the router in that order.
This may or may not correct your problem - call back if it doesn't.

I had the same problem and I found this answer to a similar question to ours, so I copied and pasted it for you
Reset the device by holding down the home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time for approximately 10 seconds. After it resets the message will be gone and you can go to settings > icloud and put in your password.
That seems to be a bug with the password alert where it won't respond correctly sometimes.

Is the computer the one the device normally syncs with?
If not, sync with the computer it normally syncs with.
If it is, place the device in DFU mode (google it) and restore. -
Out of the blue, my ITouch is unable to access my wireless network ONLY when my PC is on (the PC is connected via Ethernet cable, and has no wireless capabilities that I know of). What gives? When the PC is turned off, everything is totally fine. I\m stumped.
Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
I suspect a problem with your router. Try changing the security. First use no security as a test.

- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I am not able to backup my Iphone to Icloud because my wi-fi is greyed outon my phone. The wi-fi button will not slide to the ON position, therefore, Iam unable to backup my phones contents. What can I do? I need to save my pics, info....etc, because I have to get another phone.
Back up to your computer instead. To do this, connect your phone to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your phone in iTunes, go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click Back Up Now. Also go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases to transfer your apps and other purchased media to your iTunes library. Finally, save any photo stream photos to your camera roll (open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll), then import your camera roll photos and videos to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. (You don't need to delete them from your phone afterwards unless you need the space.)

After updating my iPad to IOS 8.1.2, I am unable to access the Cloud with my password, even though it worked on my Macmini. I changed the password and it still does not work on the iPad. What can I do to get iPad to recognize my Apple ID/password account?
I would be helpful to know what those "basic steps" you have already tried are, but lacking that information:
Settings app > iTunes & App Stores - sign out of your AppleID
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Unable to Access Menu in SFP Layout tab

Could someone please help me? In transaction SFP, under the Layout tab, I'm unable to access the Menu (Edit, View, Insert, Layout, Tools, Palletes, Help). Is there any setting which I've missed out?
Just in case this information is important, my machine is installed with Adobe Reader 7.0.8 and Adobe Lifecycle Designer 7.0.
Also, if the users that will be using ESS/MSS can only have Adobe Reader 6.0 on their machines, I understand that there would be problems trying to display the PCR within the portal. Is there any fix to this?

1) Can you see the Menu? Or is everything greyed out?
2) Adobe Reader 7.0.8 is suggested to use for the end users. We had a lot of problems with older releases. Please note that in case of Netweaver 2004 you cannot use Reader 8 or higher yet. Adobe and SAP are working on this issue. (The ACF - Active Component Framework) cannot install properly with Reader 8.
So the only fix is using Reader 7.0.8. - The problem is client side related, not ADS or PCR related.

Hello! Ever since I upgraded my iPhone 5s to IOS 7.1, I am unable to access the iPhone Keyboard if I access contacts using the recent calls tab. I am also unable to access the keyboard if I want to search for a contact as long as I went through the recent calls tab. Has anyone a fix for this problem? If you want to try it out, do the following?
Dial a number from your iPhone Keypad. After cutting the call, try to save the number you just dialled to your contacts by choosing the new contact option. You will see that you will not be able to key in the name of your new contact.Works fine for me.

I have a Model - MacBook Pro Laptop and the screen recently turned the colour grey, giving me no visibility or access to the unit.
Has anyone had or seen this problem before? Can it be fixed? I had a repair guy from my local Mac Store take a look at it - he said I needed a whole new screen and top of the computer, but this didn't fix the problem. I took the unit home unrepaired, and a week later it was all of a sudden working fine.
What is happening with my Laptop? Once this happens (grey screen) does it mean that it's going to become a chronic problem?
Please advise....ThanksIt's kind of difficult to diagnosis your problem without a visual clue, because there is a (mostly) software based "gray screen" at boot issue.
But if you got the screen replaced, took it home and now it works, why the repair shop didn't get it working before it left the store is beyond me.
Unless the repair shop is a authorized apple reseller/repair, I wouldn't have taken it to them, and of you did, they should have fixed the issue right away. -
When my iphone connects to wifi, everything else in my house will not connect to the internet. They all show 3 to 4 bars on connection strength, but unable to access the internet. The second I turn off the wifi on my iphone, everything in my house runs fine. What is going on?
Had a similar problem a number of years ago with a laptop my daughter had. The probelm turned out to be the router. What kind of router do you have? Have you checked for firmware updates, or at least tried re-booting it?
