first off , from the wired computer access the router using http://192.168.1.1 .. check the firmware version .. go to www.linksys.com/download and check the latest firmware available...if the router does not have the latest firmware , upgrade it first. .. after the firmware upgrade , reset and reconfigure the router
if the router has the latest firmware , then reset the router for 30 seconds .. do a power cycle...access the router ui ..default password is admin..click on the "mac add clone" subtab , enable it and click clone....save the settings and do a power cycle..ensure that the wired computer is online
    on the router web ui , click on the wireless tab ..change the ssid - any non-linksys name , channel - 11 , security mode - wpa , beacon interval - 50 , fragmentation threshold - 2306 , RTS threshold - 2307 ..
let me know if this helps you..

  • Unable to purchase anything since update o 9.02

Since updating to 9.02 I'm unable to purchase anything from the UK iTunes store. It gets stuck on "Accessing iTunes Store..." and eventually times out with an error message.

I have not yet upgraded, get the same error, and I am on 9.0.1.8..
also got the same agreement deal on my iPhone.. It cruised past it, but it's the only way I seem to be able to purchase from the iTunes store as of now..
Google search doesn't turn up anything yet, except that Apple TV finally got the 3.0 software update.
So it's not just 9.0.2 with problems, but potentially all iTunes users, or at least version 9 users.

  • Aperture unable to play slideshows since updating to Yosemite and 3.6

    Hi,
I updated yesterday to Yosemite and to Aperture 3.6 accordingly, and Aperture has been unable to play slideshows since then. It crashes abruptly whenever trying to play a slideshow from a project (though NOT from an album - weird). Same happens on iPhoto.
    Any similar experience anyone ?
    Best regards to all,

    Hi Leonie (and Frank),
Tried Frank Caggiano's options : it turns out the problem did NOT occur under another user. It did not occur either when creating a new library. In that new library, I stuffed a project with some 270 raw photos (those from one of the very projects that caused Aperture to crash under my usual library) and launched a slideshow from that project ==> no problem.
So my guess is that something went awry with my usual library. Do not know how I could fix that.
Hereunder the crash log (50-some first lines) I got in the report after Aperture crashed.
Many thanks again to both of you for your helpful insight.

  • Unable to access Google

Having just changed my ISP and also changed to a new Netgear wireless router, I can't access Google. (so far haven't found out if there are other URLS that don't work)
My PC is wired to the router and gets through to all websites while my MacBook Pro and my work laptop both have this access issue.
    Any suggestions gratefully received.
    Thanks
    MacBookPro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Have a look at this NetGear page: here.
The only piece I would add to the second article regarding the Network setup, is to switch your Location setting in the Network Panel from automatic to something specific - name it anything you want. Do this by clicking on the drop down menu. When finished, select "apply".
Also, in the Network Panel>TCP>DNS servers box, I have found these codes to be very useful for speed etc.

  • Help, I am unable to access iTunes since installing update 7.1.1

Every time I click the icon, after a few seconds the message "The iTunes library/tl file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is the "iTunes" folder in the "My Music" folder." Can anyone help please? It used to take me straight in, I can't open iTunes from the programme file icon either.
    IPod   Windows XP

The best place to start with that one is with the following document:
iTunes for Windows: "Disk is locked" or "iTunes folder cannot be found" when installing or opening iTunes
… but if you run into the complication where “My Music” doesn’t appear as an option in TweakUI, perhaps try the alternate procedure from the following Nigel Carpenter post:

  • Unable to import music since update

Since the most recent update, I am unable to import cds.  Please assist.  Thanks

You have to upgrade to 10.6.8 to be able to download iTunes 11.  The 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD is in the Apple online store. You can get it for $19.99. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard After you’ve installed that then download the 10.6.8 combo updater to finish it off. http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399 You will need to be running 10.6.8 to access the App Store to order Lion, Mountain Lion or Mavericks which are downloads only.
    System Requirements for 10.6:
Mac computer with an Intel processor
    1GB of memory
    5GB of available disk space
    DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible internet service provider: fees may apply.

  • Unable to access google or amazon ...

I teach in an FE college where we have a suite of G5s currently running 10.4.5, and we have found Internet access to be painfully slow in general, and next to impossible for two sites in particular: google.co.uk and amazon.co.uk.
We are accessing the Internet via ethernet, and have to use a proxy server. When using Safari 2.0.5 the above sites stall whilst trying to connect ... they don't actually crash or anything, and after about 130 seconds the sites do appear. Obviously a wait of 130 seconds is as good as not appearing at all!
Some sleuthing on my part has revealed that the eMacs that we have running on 10.3.9, with Safari 1.3.2 and accessing the Internet by the same proxy server, can access both the sites mentioned above with no difficulties whatsoever. They also seem to have much faster connections in general.
I am getting severe stick from my students over the slow net connection ... has anyone any suggestions as to what might be causing this? Is there something fundamentally different in either V2 of Safari or V10.4 of the OS that would cause these particular sites to slow to a crawl? Could it even be something to do with the proxy server - would it have software/drivers that might need updated to accommodate machines running 10.4?
Any and all help will be extremely gratefully received ... especially by the students if it leads to results!!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
V10.4.5 network protocol has a tendency to be slow, especially when using Proxy Servers. I suggest upgrading to 10.4.7 using the combined update.. Remember to "repair permissions" using Disk Utility after the restart. Also, make sure you have updated to the various Security releases (software update will let you know what they are, but first run the combined update).
    Other steps:
System Preferences>Network panel>Ethernet>TCP - DNS servers - enter 4.2.2.2 and select "apply". Also, setting the IPv6 selection (bottom of TCP panel) from automatic to "off" seems to help.
In Safari, select "empty cache" from the Safari Menu.
And as always, system maintenance is essential for operating system efficiency. What type of maintenance is performed on these machines? I use OnyX

  • Unable to open files since update

I recently updated Adobe Acrobat and am now on version 11.0.9. Since the update, I have problems opening up pdf files. If I double click on a file or right click on the file and select Open with Adobe, 90% of the time, it won't open. Nothing happens. I do not get an error message. Adobe Acrobat never opens up. It looks as if I never clicked on the file. There is no response at all. 10% of the time it opens properly so if I keep double clicking or right clicking, it usually opens eventually. This happens whether the file is on my desktop or an attachment within an email. If I open Adobe Reader and then open the file within Adobe reader, it opens properly every time. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the reader, but that made no difference. I've also tried repairing from within Adobe, but that made no difference, either.
I've also noticed that if I go to task manager when I'm having the problem, that Adobe is not an open application. But under processes, AcroRd32.exe is listed multiple times. It is as if it's trying to open Adobe but failing. I've ended the processes manually from within task manager and also tried rebooting but that does not fix the issue.

I had the same issue. I'm running Windows 7 and compatibility mode for this Adobe version defaulted to a Windows XP package version. Here is what I did to fix:
Right click on the Adobe program icon
    select Compatibility tab
under "Compatibility mode", check box and then select your current configuration

I was able to access this site until recently. I can no longer access it. No internet settings were changed. This is the only site that i am getting this error message on as far as i know.

    1. Have you restarted your router and your broadband device (if they're separate) since you first noticed the problem? If not, do that now and see whether there's any change.
    2. From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    and confirm. Test.

  • Can't access WiFi since updating to IOS 8.1.2

I just bought a brand new Ipad Air 2 and one of the 1st things I did was to update the IOS. Now I can't access the WiFi at work but I can't just ask the IT department 'excuse me - would you mind resetting the corporate wifi signal so my Ipad will work again!'
If your updates screw very expensive devices up, you should leave well enough ALONE!!
Do you have any suggestion as to how I can correct this problem or even to undo the upgrade?

You are not addressing Apple here. This is a user to user support forum, so your attitude is not necessary.
Did you activate this device from a backup of your old one? If so, the reset that JimHdk provided should work. It could be the corporate network is confused by a device with the same name but different Mac address.

It's supposed to block ads from displaying in your browser. Did you not know you had it installed? It appears to be a pretty crappy piece of software from user reports.
