Unable to access iTunes store following hard drive upgrade

Following the Apple instructions for upgrading the hard drive on a Macbook I cloned my existing drive to the new drive then installed the new drive. After a reboot everything working perfectly except that the iTunes store will no longer accept my account. Emails to Apple support on this issue remain unanswered after seven days. NB I am still able to access previously purchased music but cannot purchase any more - at least not from iTunes. How do I get the iTunes store to recognise my old account now running from the new hard drive. (Needlesstosay the old drive has been wiped and reformatted.

And none of the information you have on file with your credit card may have changed? This sounds as though it is something better resolved by an iTunes Store customer service representative, as it may require account access.
I know that you've attempted to email them before, but I would send another message via the link I posted above, explaining everything calmly and in detail. Make sure to indicate that you've emailed before but never received a response back, and then check any junk mail or bulk mail filters you have, as sometimes their responses can be filtered out.

  • HT201363 i am unable to access itunes store

I am unable to access itunes store. I had to reset my icloud password, and I don't know if that affected my itunes account. is there something going on with my account. how do i know if it has been compromised?

Has anyone ever noticed that iTunes are extremely slow at resolving problems?
I keep getting emails thanking me for my patience.
At the very least I would like to know a timeframe for resolution, or a reason for the delay.  Not hard really, it's basic customer service!

You cannot use the iTunes Store of any country other than one one in which you live and have a payment method. If the Sound Cloud app is no longer available in your country's iTunes Store, then that app will not be available to you. Contact the developer and ask if they have any plans to re-release it in your country; it may have been removed due to a problem or pending update and will be reinstated at some point.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • "Sign into iTunes Account" prompt popping up for everything & unable to access iTunes Store?

After I updated to 11.1.5 on my Mac (Running 10.9.2) every time I try to do something, be it listen to iTunes Radio, update apps, view my account in the iTunes store, download a new app, etc. I get the "Sign into iTunes Account" prompt repeatedly.  Regardless if I enter the correct password or not it will continuously pop up not allowing me to do whatever I'm trying to do.  I've tried signing out/signing back in and deauthorizing/authorizing my computer and haven't had any luck in getting any of these functions to work.

    Hello, WhosNickDoglio.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The most common resolution for this issue would be to make sure Safari has been update.  If the issue persists, try all of the steps referencing to Mac OS X in the two articles below.
    Troubleshoot issues on a Mac
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store, a software conflict or your Internet service provider (ISP) may be blocking your access.
Update iTunes and Safari to the latest version.
If you have a firewall, your settings may be preventing you from connecting to the iTunes Store. Follow these steps to configure your firewall.
You may need to reset your keychain. Connection issues are occasionally caused by keychain issues. Learn how to use Keychain First Aid to resolve any issues with your keychain.
If you're receiving a specific error message, follow these steps.
If the issue still persists, contact your Internet service provider and confirm that these ports and servers are enabled over your network.

  • Can't download videos purchased from ITunes store onto hard drive

My video Ipod already contains a number of videos. However three recently purchased videos will not download onto the computer. Each time download is attempted the following error message appears " There was a problem downloading. The disk you are attempting to use is full. Removing files and emptying the Recycle bin will free up additional space". We have repeatedly checked and deleted any old stuff on the hard drive - there is plenty of free space yet we can't get the videos onto the computer!!!!!

    there is no longer a 20 GB ipod...only a 30 GB ($300) or 60 GB ($400)

  • Mac Mini 2010 (0sx 10.7.4) unable to access iTunes Store in three weeks

    Hi there,
I have read and tried virtually EVERYTHING I could find via the net including Apple's own problem solving solutions regarding the fact that my Mac Mini (late 2010) running Osx 10.7.4 simply cannot not access the iTunes store... AT ALL "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The host is down. Make sure your network connecvtion is active and try again" blah blah yes yes). Every other use of the internet works brilliantly on it.
It has now been THREE WEEKS... waiting and trying a myriad of solutions proposed by discussion groups and professionals (incl Apple), HOWEVER... as it stands, I have use an old G5 PowerPC Tower when I need to do anything invloving the iTunes Store, which is sad as I really would like to pass it on as a gift. SO, I have a brand new OS that is pretty much useless for Apple's own products (do you want our $$ spent in your store or not) and the two iPhones, the old G5, the old PowerMac Lappy and an even older Mac Lappy all happily connect to iTunes BUT it seems this new OS "Lion" (like the Wizard of OZ character... lacks the "courage" to actually do it's job.
I have rebuilt networks, prefs, used terminal, deleted prefs, changed Apple Id, password, ports, etc etc etc etc... I don't think there is one solution I haven't tried ALL I can say is... ***???  Thank god I do know enough about Mac systems to get around, I would hate to be my mother or grandparents or a newbie. As it is iTunes is useless (now just a fancy MP3 player. Does ANYONE know something I haven't tried? Or is this mac mini... simply a fancy apple tv that can't actually access anything Apple...)      Cheers

  • HT201485 Ihave an apple id . I am unable to access itunes stores with this id

I have an apple id  but unable to access i tunes store with this & password for purchases

Click on the AppStore application on iPhone. Click FEATURED. Scroll to the bottom of the screen. Click on your AppleID. In the Menu sign out then sign back in.
If this doesnt work, repeat the above; when you get to the menu after clicking on your appleID in the app store click, VIEW APPLE ID. Once you do that you should be able to change the store in the country/region settings.

  • Since my windows 8 has automatically updated, I am unable to access itunes store. It comes up blank, and sometimes my downloads say 'the network connection was reset'. Any ideas?

I have checked servers and ports, done the winsock bit (only bonjour shows), have checked my antivirus, everything. But still I can't sort it and it's frustrating me, as it picks and chooses when it downloads apps and songs I have recently purchased too. Nothing has changed except for the windows 8 automatic updates, and it was working fine beforehand.

  • High fan speed (but not 100%) following hard drive upgrade

    Hi,
I recently upgraded the hard drive on my 2007 Mac Mini to a 320Gb Western Digital Scorpio Black. Since then, the computer's fan has been very annoying. The fan is not running at 100% all the time, but it ramps up very quickly when the computer is under the lightest of loads. Simply scrolling a webpage will send the fan speed up to around 4500 - 5000 rpm.
My first instinct was that the 7200 rpm drive was creating too much heat, but the temperatures are all fine with the hard drive around 30 - 35 degrees C and the CPU around 35 - 40 degrees C, at a fan speed of 1500 rpm. The temperatures drop down to the 20s when the fan ramps up.
The problem is as described in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
"The computer's fans run at high speed although the computer is not experiencing heavy usage and is properly ventilated."
I've followed the reset SMC procedure several times and yet the problem persists. Can anyone help me to solve this problem? Given the low hard drive temperatures and the fact that the fan is spinning up without disk activity, I'm hoping the drive isn't to blame. I'm getting fairly experienced at working inside the mini, having done three memory upgrades and two hard drive changes, but I would still like to avoid opening it and changing the disk again.
    Thanks,
    David.

Same thing happened to me.  Upgraded HD and RAM, fan spins up at a mere scroll of a web page.
I checked the usual suspects -- vents, foam "T", physical placement, cables back in place.
Also, I went back to the original equipment and found it still "wound up" quickly.
Another data point -- when the fan is accelerating and when at speed, the air coming out of the vents is not very warm.  Windows laptops I use discharge very warm air when the fans spin up.  Could the calibration of the CPU temp guage be off?

  • No longer able to access iTunes Store?

Since updating to latest iTunes version - I am unable to access iTunes store.
    I've checked my 'firewall' and itunes is 'enabled', on running a check in i-tunes the following was noted;
Connection attempt to Apple web site was successful.
Connection attempt to iTunes Store was successful.
Secure connection attempt to iTunes Store was successful.
Secure connection attempt to iPhone activation server was successful.
iTunes has never successfully accessed iTunes store.
    Any ideas?

I have iTunes 7.6.1.9 installed. It has been working fine until four days ago. Now, I can no longer connect to the iTunes store. According to the diagnostics data, iTunes thinks I am using a proxy server. That proxy server is what I use when I connect to my corporate LAN via a VPN. I connect off and on, but, it is not my permanent Internet connection. How can I tell iTunes that I am not using my proxy server? Yahoo Music Jukebox and my AntiVirus program also can no longer connect to the Internet. I suspect the proxy server issue with these as well as they have been working fine until a few days ago.
    Here is the diagnostics data:

  • Having trouble accessing itunes store...help please

Been unable to access itunes store for 2 weeks.tried updating all latest downloads, internet connection works. taken itunes off and downloaded again...still no access to itunes store
    any help?

I am having the same issue... The following are the most common occurances:
    1. Sometimes the progress bar will get to about 45% and then just sit there...
    2. Every once and a while the store will half load but it looks like a poorly scripted website circa 1996... all text and hyperlinks (which don't work i might add.. see number 1.)
    3. iTunes crashes all together when i clock on the store button.
    4. Nothing happens at all... as if it wouldnt have the time to be bothered to load at all.
For the exhuberant amount of money that I and so many others are throwing at Cupertino, you would think they would have a half decent support team that reponds online... instead of tossing blue shirts onto 12-16 jokers into every store they had as if to say... come on in and lets have a go at this the hard way.
    Frusterated.
