Unable to access Music Store w/ new v.7

I am unable to get into the Music Store since I've updated to the new versions of Quick Time and iTunes.

Hey Pat Vandale,
The diagnostics will show where the connection is failing.
If your running the built-in Windows firewall this article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304082 will show you how to give iTunes access to the Internet.

  • Unable to access music store.

since the 18/2/12 I have been unable to access the music store from my itunes main page. Downloads are still automatically downloaded and my ipod and iphone both sync fine. The problems start when either I try to manually try entering the store or put in a cd which will eventually import into the library after it tells me that the disc information could not be found online and the gracenote library could not be accessed. Could someone help as I have tried everything I can think of including reinstalling itunes, turning off firewalls (which have been configured to allow itunes through).
All help and further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    thankyou in anticipation

Lots of people are having this access problem as a quick read of the forum will reveal.
Yesterday I reset my router and the problem disappeared. This morning I noticed the problem was back again. Once more I reset my router and once again the music store is accessed normally, but I wonder for how long.
Another point I noticed was that after the router reset i-tunes would not load at all until my PC was rebooted.
It's all very curcious and rather odd Apple is not getting to grips with the problem. Is it a time issue, connected with us now being GMT+1???
    Very odd!

  • Changing User Accounts in XP.  New account wont access Music Store

We have been ituning in Windows XP Pro happily. Our laptop has 2 XP user accounts you see at log in. The Itunes is set up under "Dad" (who is an administrator). We want to set up Itunes under "Son". So we installed Itunes (from scratch off the internet) into Son's User Account.
    So far, so good.
"Son"'s Itunes works fine WITH ONE EXCEPTION...we can't access the Music Store to buy tunes, look at the shopping cart, etc.
The error message is approximately "Itunes can't access Music Store server...."
HOWEVER, when we log back on as Dad's XP account, it works just fine. Go back to Son's XP account, no good.
I tried logging off in the Dad account. Didn't help.
Any ideas? We are getting full internet access on the Son's User account. If we can only get one User Account to work with the Music Store. That's fine. We want to switch it to my son's XP Usre account.

Note that when it says "publicly accessible location", it needs to be a place where everyone has read and write access.

  • Error (-3237) when acessing Music store on new computer

I just got a new computer so I had to download iTunes on my new computer and When I sign in to access the music store the accessing music store window comes up but after a while the Error window comes up saying iTunes could not connect to the Music store. An unknown error occurred
    (-3237).
    HELP!!
    Thank you!

    Similar problems here.
Brand new laptop. I can open iTunes or QuickTime independantly without problems. However, when I click on a movie trailer from within QuickTime I get the 3237 error when iTunes launches.
After I click for desired trailer an IE window pops up:
    "One Moment Please.
Connecting to the iTunes Music Store.
    Loading
We are unable to find iTunes on your computer.
(the above line is not visible until I cut and paste)
If iTunes doesn't open, click the iTunes application icon in your Dock or Windows Task Bar."
Windows then pops up a message that says:
"The web page you are viewing is tring to close the window.
Do you want to close the window?"
In the meantme, iTune has opened but popped up an error:
"iTunes could not connect to the Music Store.
    An unknown error occurred (-3237).
Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
Now when I choose to close the IE window, and clear the Itunes error window, iTunes connects to the Music Store successfully.
It's still annoying to clear the error every time though. Any ideas?

  • Cannot access music store - error message 404

ok- i guess i'm looking for an explanation more than a solution. while trying to download a song (as usual) this morning i received an error message for the first time ever. "cannot access music store. please try again later. 404" ... for 2 hours i searched the net for a solution, checked my firewall, even joined this forum. right before posting this message again, i tried to download the song so i'd be able to explain the error message in this posting. but itunes decided to work.
my question-- does itunes sometimes time out because of heavy traffic? will this problem lessen if i upgrade to a newer version? (btw- how do i do that? i checked off "dont remind me again" when the pesky reminder would pop up... now i want to upgrade.)

Hi - I have the same problem. With the additional wrinkle that I can't close iTunes when it can't connect to the Music store. I have to use Task Manager to kill it. I am totally fed up with Apple for their lack of support on this. However, I have had one thought though: I notice that iTunes registers itself with Windows Firewall as an exceptional program that is allowed to receive incoming network connections. I don't object to that - but the thing is I am using a network modem which has its own built-in firewall. If iTunes has to be able to receive incoming network connections, don't I have to configure the network modem's firewall to treat it as an exception too? I have just done a search for "iTunes Firewall" in Google and it came up with loads of promising looking stuff. I will investigate further.

  • Error message 502 when trying to access music store

When we try and access music store to use the itunes music card, it will not access the store and displays an error message 502?

  • Trying to access Music Store and iTunes shuts down...

I've been trying to open the Music Store for days with no luck. I get an error message "The exception Privileged instruction 0xc0000096 occurred in the application at location 0x1003527a" and when I click "ok" iTunes closes abruptly. Sometimes I don't even get the error message and iTunes just closes during the "Accessing Music Store" screen. This is very frustrating as I have done all the posted fixes from Apple. (disabled Norton, unistalled/reinstalled iTunes 6) It's not my ISP because another computer can access it from my wireless network. This came on suddenly with no apparent changes in my hardware/software configuration.(been working fine for 1 year)
    Please Help!
Dell Dimension 5100   Windows XP Pro

    hiya!
you've got a standard 32-bit version. the x64 version has an "x64" mentioned in that screen. for a little more info on that, see:
    http://www.ittvis.com/services/techtip.asp?ttid=4040
i was checking, because the error message you were getting was very similar to one folks can get if they've got a problem with their QuickTime on an x64 PC. itunes needs a functioning QT to work correctly, and a broken QT can cause problems with viewing the Music Store too.
try to open your QuickTime. does it launch properly, or do you get an error message?
if you get an error message, the first thing we'll try is a careful standalone QT 7.1 reinstall.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.
    Quicktime 7.1 Standalone Installer
if that install goes through okay, does your itunes launch properly again?
(if you get an error message on the QT standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.)
    love, b

  • HT5498 Using the 30 pin adapter unable to access music on the car

Using the 30 pin adapter from mini iPad unable to access music in the car

30 pin adapte connected to what exactly?
Also iPads are not normal MP3 players, as such they don't have a regular file system the car media center can read to get music files.
You may be able to play the music through bluetooth if the car supports it. Or have the iPad send the music, but the Car media center will likely not be able to actually index the files in it.

  • HELP!  Unknown Error (-50) when accessing Music Store

When I try to access Music Store I get the following error message:
"We could not complete your Music Store request. An unknown error occured (-50). There was an error in the music store. Please try again later."
I have had this for several days. I have re-installed the software and the latest version of i-tunes. My firewall is set to permit i-tunes. Can anyone help?

hmmmm. the rules for that are different depending on whether you're trying to get to music or videos.
if it's related to music, see:
iTunes for Windows: Error (-50) or (403) occurs when accessing the iTunes Music Store
    ... and:
iTunes for Windows: Music Store - Using With Internet Filters or Accelerators
but if it's related to videos, see:

You cannot use the iTunes Store of any country other than one one in which you live and have a payment method. If the Sound Cloud app is no longer available in your country's iTunes Store, then that app will not be available to you. Contact the developer and ask if they have any plans to re-release it in your country; it may have been removed due to a problem or pending update and will be reinstated at some point.

I am unable to access itunes store. I had to reset my icloud password, and I don't know if that affected my itunes account. is there something going on with my account. how do i know if it has been compromised?

Has anyone ever noticed that iTunes are extremely slow at resolving problems?
I keep getting emails thanking me for my patience.
At the very least I would like to know a timeframe for resolution, or a reason for the delay.  Not hard really, it's basic customer service!

  • ITunes 6 -Constantly Accessing Music Store

  • Can't access Music Store

After changing to a wireless, broadband Internet access, I downloaded the latest iTunes and was finally able to connect to the Music Store -- for all of one morning. My problem seems to be different from those I've seen mentioned on Apple Discussions, as I get no error message -- iTunes tries and tries to connect to the store, to no avail. And no error message.
Nevertheless, I've tried everything suggested here: gone to the "windows/system32/drivers/etc" folder and checked the host file there; checked my firewall settings, both atGuard and Windows, and turned them off and on; reinstalled the latest iTunes; reinstalled a previous iTunes from my Cd. Nothing works.
    I use Windows XP SP2.
    Can anyone suggest anyting new?

Thanks for the tip. I did reset the router -- nothing. I've also tried connecting through the phone line -- nothing. And the dos suggestions you posted on a different thread. Perhaps it is a metaphysical twist, and it's simply not going to happen.
The people at iTunes Music Store support replied to my email telling me to upgrade to the latest versions of iTunes and Quicktime, which I find rather unhelpful.
