Unable to access PC because of deceased family members password

Recently my uncle passed away and left me his TouchSmart 610-1150y PC series but I cannot use it because of his password and his profile being the only one on the PC, help would be much appreciated, thank you for your time.

Hi,
Is there data on the PC that needs to be recovered?
If not, you could simply reinstall the operating system using the method under the sub-heading 'Starting a recovery from the start up logo screen (during system boot)' on the following link.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01867418&tmp_task=useCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lang...
Let me know.

  • Unable to access calendar, because the web service is configured incorrectly

When attempting to access my web based calender I recieve the following error, "Unable to access calendar, because the web service is configured incorrectly." I have both the web service and iCal server configured to use SSL.
    Thanks for any help

I have the same problem, with a temporary solution :
    http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?t=111059
In the Server Admin - iCal Server Settings page there's a place where you specify the ports to be used, 8008 without SSL and 8443 (? out of my memory, not sure) for SSL.
The issue was caused because left of the SSL port I selected "redirect" instead of "use".
After I changed that it worked right away.

  • Unable to access calendar, because the calendar server is not running.

    Hello everyone.
I'm new in posts (not in read them) and I need some help.
This subject message appears when I try to access my iCal on Wiki Page.
We have here 2 Intel xServers, one with Web and features and other with Gateway and network management.
My Web Service, has Wiki, Blog, Calendar enable services, all up and running normally without errors, but the iCal I can't access showing that error on page.
I Installed the Mac OS Server Snow Leopard from the begin (formatting...), configured all things and ok.
But since starts the calendar was with that error.
The server is updated to 10.6.6.
I will really appreciate to be helped. Thanks from now!

    Hi,
Note this is a 10.5 forum and so 10.6 problems may not correspond.
However, I noted the following log entry:
http://calendarserver.tap.caldav.CalDAVServiceMaker#info Setting up document root at: /Users/dincaoadm/Desktop/test
For collaboration service with wikis, the document root should be located at /Library/CalendarServer/Documents
Which leads me to suspect your iCalServer is not setup correctly for wiki/calendar service.
Before selecting calendar service in the web setup ensure the iCalServer service is running correctly.
    HTH,
    Harry

  • Is there any way to gain the log in information for a deceased family members account?

My common law spouse passed away a few weeks ago, his apple products are all gone but I was curious if there was absolutely any way I could gain access to his icloud account

Table SGOSHIST contains the records viewed by any user.
    SAP menu path System>Object history
To enable or disable object history tracking for a user, R/3 uses the user parameter SOBJHIST. When a user selects the “switch on/off object history” option, SAP inserts the SOBJHIST user parameter in that user’s own user profile. A parameter value of X is inserted to disable object tracking, while a blank entry in the parameter indicates tracking is active. Users can also change this user parameter if they have access to change their own user profile via transaction SU3.

  • Prompting for family members password during update?

When my iPhone 6 (up to date iOS) tries to update apps, some update but others prompt me for the password for my daughters iTunes account. Never used family sharing, never synced on computer using her account or vice versa. Very annoying, please help!
I'm not keen on deleting and re-installing since I use one a lot and am afraid I'll lose all my progress/data.
    thanks!!

If it is prompting your daughter password, then some how you download her apps on your phone.
Only way to resolve that is to delete the app and install it with your apple id.

  • Unable to access account (possible hijacking?)

A few days ago I was unable to access my main skype account. The password recovery system straight up does not work, saying my email has no account associated with it. When I tried making a new account with that email, though, it said the email was already in use.
No amount of password recovery will help me with my issue, as it's just stuck in a robot loop. If I could talk to a human being about this, maybe I could get my account back. Please help.

  • HT204264 Can family members be given access to my icloud library

We have over 100Gb of photos on our library, I want to put it into the iCloud photo storage, but the main benefit for us would be to give access to all the other family members to be able to share it on their devices.
We don't want to all synchronise our phones/ipads on the same machine though, hence using the iCloud Photo storage seems to present a good option if it can be done.

Thanks Winston, I suspected as much.
It seems silly that you can't nominate more than one user to an iCloud photo library and such a big opportunity.
I can share my payment functions, so your kids, wife, partner etc can use your payment... but you can't share a library.  Go figure.

You can eirther I think go on ITunes or if you can get to settings you would just go to iCloud.

I am unable to access my LR5.7 Catalog of my recent holiday. I am running Windows 7 (64Bit) and recently installed and then uninstalled DxO Optics Pro. The error message says it "cannot be opened because another application already has it opened.Quit the other copy of Lightroom before trying to launch"  The problem is, that I can only see one copy of LR5 open and cannot locate the ".lrcat.lock" file for the specific catalog I want to open. I have tried re-booting my computer, but this did not work.

Thanks Geoff. I was finally able to locate the ".lrcat.lock" file relevant to the catalog I want to open. Once I deleted it, LR5 was able to access my images. Problem solved. THANK YOU

How can I recover the NAS back up to put on my new Time Machine.
Talking to Apple Support Adviser was a waste of time on case number 239647273
    Any thoughts or pointers?

Keep the old OS around and just kick the tires and test new OS. Apple has a history and habit of breaking support in things like this.
You can use TimeMachine as one level of backup, and even there there were changes with Lion, I would always recommend foremost backup clones of every volume. And clone (SuperDuper etc) can be stored on something like HP NAS Media Server which also was supporting TimeMachine, iTunes - until Apple made that harder and more their own proprietary format.

Rather than "upgrade" I would clone the system, and do a clean install, then allow Setup Assistant to import your files.

I downloaded -i-tunes 8.1 because both of my computers are G-3; the Mac Pro lap top has intel, my i-mac does not.  When I try to access i-tunes store on the mac pro I get the page for CLOUD.  I can access the account, but am unable to access i-tunes store.  My music is available.  How do I access the store?

Hello, I'm experiencing the same problem - did you find a way of accessing the store?

  • Unable to access time machine backup. The folder "Documents" can't be opened because you don't have permission to see its contents.

My MacBook Pro with 750GB storage refuses to startup due to a problem with logic board (unfortunately I'm in Singapore and there is no Apple store here and zero customer support).  I'm trying to access some of the files from the time machine back-up using my MacBook Air with 120GB storage, but I'm unable to open the backup.  I receive an error message "you don't have permission to see its contents". Unable to access time machine backup. The folder “Documents” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents.
I don't really want to migrate the data from the time machine to the MacBook Air as I simply don't have sufficient storage space on the MacBook Air.  The iPhoto library which I'm trying to access is 200GB, which is more than the size of the MacBookAir.
Is there any way I can view the photos and documents stored on the time machine backup.
    Thank you very much.

When you setup the Mac, you created a Admin user account with say name X
You ran Migration Assistant and it migrated user Y from the Windows machine.
User Y has different permissions than User X.
User X can't normally access User Y's account.
So what you do is log out of User X via the Apple menu and into User Y, this way you have permission to access the files.
If you want to transfer files from User Y to User X account
Transfer files between user accounts on the same machine instructions
Finder > Go menu > Computer
A window appears with your boot drive, double click on it to open
Inside is Users folder, double click to open it
Inside is your User accounts, double click on the one you want to send files too
Double click on the Public folder drop the files into the DropBox folder,
The permissions will change and can be used in the other user account when you log into it and moved to the appropriate folders.
Applications are typically installed and kept in the Applications folder which is a global access folder all users can access to run them from, but not all users can modify unless they are a Admin user.
Windows programs won't run on a Mac, but they can be instaled into a virtual machine program that is running Windows.
