Unable to access Runtime Services with admin user

Hi all,
Trying to access runtime services with admin user returns a "Authentication Denied
The username or password has been refused by Runtime Services. Please try again."
Credentials are correct. It seems to be some kind of lockout. I´ve copied this admin user entry in ldap and named it admin2, this "new" user can perfectly log.
As it could be a lockout I have unlocked the user although the proper tab said there was no locked user.
The realm is in a openldap.
Any hint would really be appreciated.

  • Start Database Service with another user

    Hi Everyone ,
i've a little problem with the Oracle 10 Console Service on a W2K3 server.
I want to start that Service with another user as "Local System"
I created a local user that is member in the "ORA_DBA" group and in the local Admin Group. But the Service won't start. When i start the service with the "local system" account it starts.
Is there another possibility to start the service this way or where is my error ?

    Hi
I searched metalink and came across a note that mentioned following actions. I hope it works in your situation.
    1. Launch locally on the windows host the Local Security Policy tool
    2. For the domain user or local user starting the Management Agent service
    Give the following Advanced Privileges
    - Log on as a batch job
    - Act as part of the operating system.
    - Adjust memory quotas for a process
or (for windows 2000 and Windows NT)
    - Increase memory quotas"
    - Replace a process level token.
    3. Ensure that the same local user or domain user starts all the other Oracle Windows services monitored by the Management Agent
The same fix must be applied for the standalone dbconsole service on windows.

    Hi Patrick

SSO is working fine. But, once specific service is not working where we are using technical user when SSO is active and it is working when SSO is inactive.

  • Unable to see options in reporting services with admin account

I have sysadmin access to the sql server but i am unable to access the reports which i am using earlier. recently i have updated the server sp4 on current sql sever 2005.
how to re-enable the  access to the reporting server. please help me.

    Hi RoyalM,
According to your description, you are using windows domain account which has full access to report manager, but you couldn’t see any folders in the page.
Based on my research, this is because of User Access Control. Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems limit the overuse of elevated permissions by removing administrator permissions when accessing
applications. Because the noted operating systems limit permissions, members of the local Administrators group run most applications as if they are using the Standard User account.
If you are executing the report locally, we can Run the Internet Explorer (IE) as Administrator. if the folders still are no shown, we can add the report manager to Trusted sites zone to solve the issue.
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Access developer version with admin rights

I have MS SQL Server 2012 Developer version installed on my local machine using Windows 7.
I lost my access to SQL Server local developer version when my company change policy to remove admin rights to local machine for some reason.
Since I lost local machine admin rights, I am unable to access MS SQL Server 2012 developer version.
I would like to know are there any work around to access MS SQL Server 2012 Developer version without local admin rights for Windows 7.
Your help and information is great appreciated,
    Regards,
    Souris,

    Hello Souris ,
Please , could you provide more information about your problem ?
Are you unable to create new databases ? The error messages would be appreciated.
I don't think that you have posted in the "good" forum , but for a moderator , it is difficult to find a better forum as we don't know what it is happening on your computer.
I think that you should always be able to create databases in your own directory Users\yourusername on which you should have every access rights . The main problem could be to start/stop the SQL Server service as you need some minimum administration rights.
Please , could you tell us whether the lost rights are on the Windows 7 level or on your SQL Server level ?
To connect , you should have at least the db_datareader and db_datawriter permissions on the databases you are using ( I would add db_backupoperator to restore a database in case of errors )
You should have the public and maybe dbcreator ( if you have to create new databases ) and of course your login must be enabled and have the permission to connect to the database engine .
As we don't know what your are doing with the databases with your SQL Server Developer edition , we are unable to help you without more precise information.
We are waiting for your feedback to try to help you more efficiently.

  • Unable to access application set in admin console after upgrade to 7.0 M

    Hi Experts
I am unable to access the Application Set through BPC Administration after upgrading our development server to version 7.0 SP3. I followed the instructions as per the Upgrade guide, and there was no issues during the installation. But when trying to access the application set i receive the following error message on step 9  ( 9/10) of during the connection.
Error message: Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is not
    permitted when the subquery follows =, !=, <, <= , >, >= or when the
subquery is used as an expression.
I have done all of the steps outlined as per SAP Note 1242962, but i still receive the error message. I tried to do a SQL Profiler trace, but i have been unable to find the query which returns more than one record.
    Any help is appreciated
    Kind Regards
    Daniel

Interesting that you ask about upgrade vs uninstall/reinstall.
    We were running BPC 5.1
We have also re-installed the Admin client to be the new version.
We have been working with an outside consulting firm to manage our system upgrade/install.
Our dev and qa environments were uninstalled then reinstalled.
When we went to production, our system was intially upgraded.  I do not know why this route was chosen when that was not what was completed on dev/qa.  On our production 'upgrade', we are still working through issues. We then uninstalled iis, sqlserver reporting services, both .net 1.1 and 2.0, and the BPC application. Then reinstall everything and we were getting the same errors.
Our error was at Progress 10/10 Create Database Schema and check Application server collation.
Error Message: Object Reference not set to an instance of an object.
We are able to access the appShell and test copies of the appShell, we were not able to access any custom appSets which were created prior to the upgrade, nor are we able to access any appSets that were created as a copy of the custom appSet after the upgrade.
When logged with SAP, we were directed toward note Note 1331040 - Cannot log into 7M Admin console after restore from version5 noting that we needed to do the following changes:
Note that you will need to change the following:
    INSERT INTO tblDefaults VALUES ('_GLOBAL','Prev_AppSet_Version','','','7.0.112')
    INSERT INTO tblDefaults VALUES ('_GLOBAL','Curr_AppSet_Version','','','7.0.112')
    to
    INSERT INTO tblDefaults VALUES ('_GLOBAL','Prev_AppSet_Version','','','7.0.113')
    INSERT INTO tblDefaults VALUES ('_GLOBAL','Curr_AppSet_Version','','','7.0.113')
The reason is because '7.0.113' means 7 MS SP04 while '7.0.112' means SP03.
There are 8 steps in this note, for us, only the first 2 were needed. I have asked SAP to create new note/update existing accordingly.
With the table entry, we were able to successfully access our app set.
Hope our experiences can help you out.
    Thanks,
    Becky Zick

  • User Interface Access Customisation for non admin users

    Hi,
It is understood that for non-admin users, some features of the Planning Interface is not enabled and this can be controlled by proper access permissions. But, is it possible to extend the customization to provide some additional features in the menu bar for an user?
For example, if View User wants to manage task lists. Is it possible by some sort of customization? Please advise.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
You can create right click menus, and you can also create links on the tools page. Would any of these help you?
Here is the doc on those subjects:
Creating and Updating MenusAdministrators can create right-click menus and associate them with data forms, enabling users to click rows or columns in data forms and select menu items to:
Launch another application, URL, or business rule, with or without runtime prompts
    Move to another data form
Move to Manage Approvals with a predefined scenario and version
The context of the right-click is relayed to the next action: the POV and the Page, the member the user clicked on, the members to the left (for rows), or above (for columns).
When designing data forms, use Other Options to select menus available for Data Form menu item types. As you update applications, update the appropriate menus. For example, if you delete a business rule referenced by a menu, remove it from the menu.
To create, edit, or delete menus:
Select Administration, then Manage, then Menus.
    Perform one action:
To create a menu, click Create, enter the menu's name, and click OK.
To change a menu, select it and click Edit.
To delete menus, select them, click Delete, and click OK.>
Specifying Custom ToolsAdministrators can specify custom tools, or links, for users on the Tools page. Users having access to links can click links from the Tools menu to open pages in secondary browser windows.
    To specify custom tools:
Select Administration, then Application, then Settings.
    For Show, select Advanced Settings.
    Click Go.
    Select Custom Tools.
    For each link:
For Name, enter the displayed link name.
For URL, enter a fully qualified URL, including the http:// prefix
For User Type, select which users can access the link.
    Click Save.

  • Unable to enable security and create admin user after reset - px4-300d

Our px4-300d became inaccessible a few days ago.  I couldn't get to any shares from any machine, and I couldn't get to the admin console.  When I checked the unit, there was no indication that anything was wrong (ie - the panel didn't show any failure, I didn't get any emails indicating a failure, and there were no lights offering a clue to what was wrong).  However the unit was completely frozen...the buttons on the front would not scroll through the different information on the panel.
I attempted to reset the device using the pinhole on the back, but the device wouldn't respond, so I had to power it down using the button on the front.  When I tried to power it back up, it would come on for about one second, then immediately power off.  I pulled all 4 drives out and powered it on again without any drives.  This time it came up completely and I got a message on the panel that drives were missing.  I started putting the drives in one at a time and the device recognized them all and I was able to login to the admin console.  However, all the shares were missing and I received an email that the Storage Pool was degraded.  I rebooted the device from the admin console and when it came back up, it started reconstruction.  After a few hours, it completed, but I still had no shares and couldn't create any new shares.  I also did not see any of my users, including the admin account I was logged in with.  I tried to create a new user, and also tried creating a user I knew existed and neither one worked.  The screen would just flash but nothing would show up.  At this point, I decided to try to reset using the pinhole on the back of the device to reset the admin user so I could just create a new one.  So, now I'm stuck at the 'Enable Security' screen.  Every time I try to create an admin account, it just flashes and returns me to the same 'Enable Security' window.
    Now what?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you are unable to get into it you will not be able to do the factory reset. You can try booting in buy removing one disk at a time. If you are still unable to then tech support should be able to supply you with the imager and try flashing it. I would keep it at 4.0.8 also,

  • Unable to Access Web Site (with same name) outside of Local Network

    Hi everyone,
I have my web site (and some other services) hosted outside of my network by my hosting provider, but handle all other items using OS X Server on my network (i.e. Wiki and so forth).
The problem is now that I am unable to access my website at www.mydomain.com from within the network. I have external DNS set up for www.mydomain.com to point to my website, while mydomain.com points to my OS X Server (static IP address). Internally in OS X Server's DNS settings this used to work when I had www.mydomain.com resolving to the IP address of my web host, in addition to the default domain settings that OS X had set up. For some reason this is no longer working, and I am unable to figure out why.
Using latest version of OS X Server 3.0.2.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Update: this ended up being a redirect issue on the web host. I added another subdomain that was hosted externally, and it worked fine. For some reason my web host is redirecting www.mydomain.com to domain.com.

I am in Texas and cannot get to that site either. Do you know for sure the site is up and working? It could just be down (for days, a site I support was down for almost 4 full days a few weeks ago due to a virus problem).
This may (again, may) be your problem: I see you have a173.48.x.x (you really should x-out the last two octets of your IP address for privacy reasons), I am on a 173.74.x.x address; I know some people have had problems with getting to some sites now that they have a 173.x.x.x address. I think Verizon obtained addresses in that range and some of the addresses apparently previously belonged to spammers or some malicious folks. Some sites (web sites, intermeidate routers, etc.) blocked those addresses, and may not have updated their filters to remove the block on those addresses because they don't know that Verizon now owns them. If this is the problem, eventually those filters will get updated and you will be able to access the site, but this could be a fairly long time.
If you know how to contact that site I suggest you email them about the problem. You can also try turning off your router overnight and when you turn it back on the next day you may find that you have a different address (one that doesn't start with 173) that will allow you to get to the site.
I don't think there is much Verizon can do to help, it is not their site that is blocking your address (at least I don't think it is).
    Hope this helps.

  • Unable to share a folder with specific users

    Hi,
I'm attempting a seemingly simple task on my home network of 4 computers. I want to share a folder located on one computer, called PC1, with another computer called PC2 with full read/write permission. All other machines on the network are not to have access
to this folder. Both machines are running Windows 7.
On PC2, I am able to see the shared folder under Networks but if I try to open it, I keep getting a 'You do not have permission to access...' error. The following are the steps I've taken to set up the network share.
Both machines are on the same workgroup.
Both machines are on the home network, not work/public.
Turned off homegroup on both machines in Advanced Networking Properties by selecting "Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers".
Created a standard non-admin user account on PC1 that has the same username/password as the admin login used to log into PC2.
On PC1, right-clicked the folder I want to share and added the above user account to both the Sharing and Security tabs.
Removed the Everyone group in PC1 from both the Sharing and Security tab for the shared folder.
If I am missing a step, please let me know. I have noticed that if I add  the Everyone group back to the Sharing and Security tab for the shared folder on PC1, I am able to have full access from PC2. However, since I want to restrict access
to this folder to only one machine, I didn't want to have the Everyone group listed.

  • Accessing files in another Admin users home directory?

    In another topic thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=798797&tstart=0
I've posted how I somehow hosed my first Admin account, which was, foolishly, my primary working account.
I've tried several things documented in the other thread to try to get back into the system under that login name, but with no luck. I created another Admin user, and tried using the Terminal window to creat a disk image of the original admin user home directories, but it failed with input/output error at reading a DMG file on the desktop.
I've tried to access those folders via the new admin, but can't get in, says I don't have sufficient priveledges.
Is there a way to change the priveledges for those folders, from single user, or current Admin terminal window? I have the password, so it's not like I'm trying to break in to someone else's files without permission.
I've got some not-yet-backed photos and other files in the original account I need.
    Am I just screwed?

Did you enable the root account on the system using
    NetInfo Manager ?
Not sure what that is. I'll check it out.
Have you considered using the OSX boot disc to reset
    the admin account password ?
I do need to try booting from the cd, however, it doesn't appear to be a password issue - the password is accepted at the login prompt, a bad password typed in intentionally vibrates the box, the good password doesn't. Running admin utilities from the guest account with the ailing admin account name and password works. Still, it's worth a shot.

  • Importing Security Through shared services caused admin user password chang

    Hi,
I exported shared services from shared services url from one environment and imported into another environment. This changed the admin user password where I imported.
    Details:-
I went to shared services of one environment say dev and to -> Applications Groups -> Foundation -> shared services and exported it. Took its export and imported into test environment.
Now what it did it changed the user password of the target with the source one. However I did remove the internal ID of all files in it.
Can anyone please help ? How to get the password of it back? I do not have back up of shared services of test environment.
    Version 11.1.2.1
    Thanks a lot in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was hoping you had a strategy in place, it is basically restoring the shared services relational database from a backup, stop the epm related services first.
It may be even possible to correct your LCM file and set the admin to the way it should be but I am not sure what state the provisioning is in so couldnt guarantee it would work.
    Cheers

  • Unable to open Presentation services with IIS 6.0

    Hi,
I have installed OBIEE on a Windows 2003 server with IIS 6.0. When I try to open SAW.DLL with the following command: http://servername/analytics, I get this error
    Unable to contact server.
Failed to find config file c:\OracleBIData\web\config\isapiconfig.xml using environment variable SADATADIR -- exiting!
    Error Codes: EV72PGLJ:IV6PEHWU:
Unable to query filesystem statistics for c:\OracleBIData\web.
    Access is denied".
The contents of the isapiconfig.xml file are below
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <WebConfig>
    <ServerInstance>
    <ServerConnectInfo address="localhost" port="9710"/>
    </ServerInstance>
    </WebConfig>
I can however run Presentation services with OC4J.
I am not sure why this error occurs with IIS.
Has anyone come across this error? I'd appreciate your help.
    Thanks
    rkingmdu

right click - my computer - properties - advanced - enviornment variables - system variables.
see if variable SADATADIR exists with value of drive:\OracleBIData and SAROOTDIR with drive:\OracleBI
