Unable to access version history of master page
Hi,
I think i totally messed up the master pages, i'm not sure what i did, but i edited seattle.html master page and published it. Now i try to access the site, i get error : "Sorry something went wrong....blah..blah "
Now when i tried to restore the version history, it throws an error shown below. Please help me to resolve this. I think i just did it in production server.. a big blunder i guess.

Thanks for your response.
In anxiety i was trying many different things and i found a strange thing. The first screenshot below shows how i tried it earlier. I right click (after checking out the file of course) on the seattle.html and then when i select version history, it doesn't
work.
But in the second screenshot if rather than right clicking, i just click on the file name and then from the next screen, at the right side there is a Version History table listing all the versions. So when i select a version, the Restore button activates
on the Ribbon and now i can restore from here without any issue.
And there is another approach, we can restore through design manager. But if your entire master page is screwed up totally, then you won't be able to go to your _layouts/15/DesignMasterPages.aspx in the first place.
So i would suggest people to try the second method (from designer pane).

But in any case, i truly acknowledge your advice and it was a close shave for me :) It was very risky. I'm going ahead with your advice and in fact need some more advice.
I'm going to do the below steps and need your advice on this:
1. I will make a copy of seattle.html and i guess it will create .master for itself.
2. Now i right click on the seattle.html and reset to site definition. So i guess it will like what it was by default.
3. Now I associate the copy i made with my site.

Unable to access "Cache Hierarchy Server" config pages
BM 3.9 SP2
NetWare 6.5 SP8
In iManager I am unable to access the Cache Hierarachy Server/Client config pages.
In IE7 the page is just blank
In FireFox I get the error "The timer value cannot exceed 1 hour"
Does anybody know how to fix this - it is urgent!

Unable to access java web application index page on Weblogic server 10.3.6
Hi,
I have deployed a Web application on Weblogic server.
My war file is very basic with just a index page.
I am able to deploy & access its index page properly in OC4J ( applicaton server on soa suite 10g ) and apache tomcat.
But when i deployed same war file in weblogic am not able to access its index page, Getting below error:
Error 503--Service Unavailable
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
*10.5.4 503 Service Unavailable*The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. what does Prepared indicates here?*

Unable to access the Dyn/admin Home Page
Hi ,
I am also facing the login issue to dynamo admin server .
I could able to logged into ACC(ATG Control Center) .But I am not able to access the dynamo admin server both for production and publishing server even entering the same credentials that i used for ACC.
Both the servers are up and running with out any issues .
Application server is weblogic server .
OS is Windows.
I am getting this error :
Make sure that you have the 'bin' directory for your JDK in your PATH variable before starting Dynamo and that you have enough swap space.
The detailed exception is: java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "javac": CreateProcess error=206, The filename or extension is too long.
I have set it correctly before installing ATG like this D:\Java\jdk1.6.0_45\bin; . Even though i am getting the same issue.
From your previous post .I got this . But had a doubt on this like where to add .I could not find this location.

TS3716 Unable to access Version 11 I-tunes
I bought an I-pod Classic. Every computer in my house has Version10/10.2 I-tunes installed. I actually installed Version 11 I-tunes on lap-top. I have no idea how to find it. When the Classic is plugged in, I still get the message that the I-pod requires Version 10.7 or later. How do I access/install Version 11 I-tunes. Already went to I-tunes.com and followed their download steps. Please help. Doesn't show up anywhere.

Dreamweaver gives Access denied error when editing the html of master page
Designing look and feel for sharepoint 2013 master page using Dreamweaver but gives below error and it works using notepad. I have full access to DW and Sharepoint site.

If you want to modify SharePoint master page, I suggest you use SharePoint Designer 2013 to edit it.

I downloaded the new 3.6.6 and now cannot access any history from beyond yesterday
I have a Windows 7 laptop, 64bit. I have always accessed all history of places I have been on the web. After downloading the latest upgrade from Firefox. 3.6.6., I now am unable to access my History for anything beyond Yesterday.

Error with master page "insert current page number" when exporting book
Using InDesign CS 5.5 for Windows
Recently upgraded from InDesign CS (the really old one from 2003). I did save a copy of all my old version files and kept the old ID installed just in case (after reading all the horror stories on here).
In my old version of ID, I created a book made up of about 70 documents. Some of these documents are one page, others have multiple pages. In the multiple page documents, I used the "insert ... current page number" character (or whatever the command was in the old version) on a master page, and formatted it to read, for example: Page 1 of 17, Page 2 of 17, Page 3 of 17, etc. When I exported my book to a pdf, it worked fine. (I do not want/have consecutive page numbers throughout the book, only in individual documents. By this I mean my entire book is about 280 pages, but not all of these 280 pages are numbered, just the groups of pages from these multi-page documents. It doesn't read page 1 through 280.)
Got my upgrade to 5.5 a few months ago, added some documents to the book, and (if i remember right) when I saved the book it asked to convert every old version document to the new version, which I said okay. When I exported the book to a pdf, some documents that are longer than 2 pages are now numbered wrong; the numbers are now going like this: Page 1 of 17, Page 2 of 17, Page 2 of 17 (supposed to be page 3), Page 2 of 17 (supposed to be page 4), etc. Every page but page 1 is now page 2 of whatever.
If I open the individual document and export it to pdf, the page numbers work fine. It's only when the document is exported with the book that the page numbers mess up. And it's not all the documents in my book; this error starts at a particular document and continues from that point throughout the rest of the book, affecting any document longer than 2 pages. Multi-page documents before this point in the book export with the correct page numbers.
I create new documents by doing a "save as" with a previously created document and cut and paste as needed, so I'm not having to reformat or set up page numbers on each new document. I don't use layers or styles (I'm sure there's a better way to do what I need, but I've only had time learn the basics, just enough to be functional.)
My attempts to fix this so far (using version 5.5), testing with the first document where the error appears: (1) I've removed the document from the book, deleted the insert current page number character, re-entered the insert current page number character, saved, exported the individual document to pdf and it worked fine. Put it back in the book, save, export, and it's wrong. (2) I took the document out of the book again, exported the document to .idml, saved as new .indd with new name, exported to pdf and it worked fine. Put it back in the book, save, export, and it's wrong. (3) I started up my old ID version, opened the old version of this document, exported to .inx, closed, opened .inx in ID 5.5, saved as new .indd with new name, exported to pdf and it worked fine. Put it back in the book, save, export, and it's wrong. (4) I moved the document up in the book order, putting it above a document that has correctly numbered pages, saved, exported to pdf, and this document was still wrong, but the one that has been numbered correctly all along is still correct. (5) I've compared settings for this document to others that number correctly and cannot find any difference.
It's like the page numbers get hung on "2" when I export the book, but only in the last two-thirds of the book. Sorry it's so lengthy, but I hope this description of my problem is understandable. Any advice, other than going back to my old version documents and starting over?

Right after I posted my question, I saw a post from last year where somebody had similar problems. (I cringed because I spent almost 3 days researching this problem and never ran across that post; thanks for not scolding me for posting a semi re-run.) I decided to try one of the easier solutions: I opened the problem document from the book panel, went to the master page and deleted the text box containing the page number, copied the page number box from a document that worked correctly, and pasted it into the problem document. Saved that doc, closed, saved book, exported to pdf, and it worked!! The page number problem was fixed. I went back and did the same thing for the other problem documents and they all number correctly now.
Probably not the best way, but for now this will fix it; I may have to do it again next time I add to the book. Although I didn't follow your instructions, I'll mark this as answered since it's working now. If it keeps giving me problems, I'll try the .inx export/new book route.

Hyperlink text colour styles won't apply in master page
Hello,
I've applied hyperlinks and changed the link styles with ease in all of the content pages. However, I'm unable to change anything on the master page.
All of the hyperlinks work - I am able to link to the content pages/emails - but none of the edit link styles will apply.
But it's a bit wonky, I have had it apply, but completely randomly and only on 1 menu item.
I designed the menu from scratch, without the use of a widget. I thought maybe it was that, so I made a widget menu, and I can't get it to apply any edit link styles as well.
All I want is a simple rollover where the text changes to a different colour. This should be easy!
Please help if you can, it's driving me bonkers!

Why bother following the standards if the browser is going to apply styling irrespective of whether <tt>style</tt> elements conform or not? Mainly to provide a better user experience. Rendering a document that contains stylesheets in the body causes flickering and jumping of content as the browser re-renders already visible content affected by CSS rules found later in the document. -
Applying Changes to Master Pages
Is there any way to apply a change to a master page to a topic that is already linked to that master page? I tried removing the link, making the change to the master page, and then re-linking the topic, but it the "old" version of the master page gets applied. I also tried making a change to the master page and then using the Apply To All feature when generating, but again, the version applied is the "old" master page.

Okay, so the fact you are referring to them as Master Pages would seem to imply you are using RoboHelp 8. When you edit a Master Page in this version you note that there are "Placeholders" on the page. There is a Placeholder for the Body text. You may also add other Placeholders as well as Headers and Footers.
If you inserted the button bar inside the Body placeholder, it would only be related to topics you created using the Master Page as a template. If you later changed this in some way, for example removing or adding a button, it would only be reflected in topics you later created after making the change. Topics created prior to the change will be unfazed.
You can change this behavior by inserting the element just above the Body Placeholder. When content is outside the Placeholder, it gets copied to any topic associated with the Master Page.
As for RoboHelp being "helpful" and leaving the code alone, you are on your own with that. Trial and error will tell you whether RoboHelp will clobber the changes to the code. About the only way to ensure that doesn't happen is by using some custom JavaScript to "write in" the desired code.

How to auto-fill a book using only one master page
I'm designing a rather simple photo book in Aperture. I have a master page setup with six 2x3 image boxes per page. Each image box has a metadata field for caption and for date/time. I want to select a large number of images and auto-fill the book using only this master page. As you might guess, its just going to be a presentation of a large number of photographs, scrapbook style, with the caption and time of each image. Nothing fancy, intentionally.
Problem is when I tell Aperture to auto-fill the images, if it needs a new page it randomly grabs a master page layout. I want all pages to use only this specific master page.
Can this be done? Create a new, empty version of your master page and duplicate it as often as you want using the key combination ⌘D. Delete all pages with a layout that you not want.
When you have enaough empty pages use auto-fill. It will fill the empty pages you just created.

Unable to access Prefs/Formats on my TX
All of a sudden my formats-settings are playing crazy...
And I am unable to access formats from the Prefs page! Every time I try the device performs a soft reset.

It sounds like something has gotten corrupted, or perhaps you recently installed a third-party application which is not playing nicely with the TX.
You will probably have to Hard Reset the TX. You will still be able to reload all of your PIM data and third-party applications, but you'll have to do so manually. It's really not that big a deal, though you will have to re-enter third-party activation or registration codes. The Palm Support article linked below describes the procedure for diagnosing a problem or conflict caused by corrupted system file or a third-party application It basically involves going into your desktop folders, renaming the Backp folder to Backupold, then Hard Resetting, Hotsync, and reinstalling third-party apps one at a time:
