Unable to ACTIVATE digital edition
Please Help!
I'm unable to activate Adove Digital Edition.
From the activation screen, after I enter my adobe ID and password,
it gives me the following error:
E_ADEPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED http://adeactivate.adobe.com/adept/Activate 2010-08-30T11:06:38-07:00%20(1283191598000)%20is%20before%202010-08-31T10:34:02-07:00%20( 1283276042729)
I played with my firewall settings and made digital edition a trusted application - however it still
doesn't work..
Please help
E_ADEPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED happens because the time or timezone is off on your computer, see http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403936.html for details.

Unable to Activate Digital Editions 1.7
I found a posting for the 1.5 version and verified the time/date/zone are correct on the PC that has never had this software installed. One curious note is that I am not seeing a pop-up from the firewall to activate.
Any other tips (home user as the corporate folks would flog me if I installed this on their PC)?
Text of Error on WinXP platform:
"E_ADEPT_CLIENT ActivationServiceInfo EXCEPTION Error%20#1009 RESP"We have noticed this problem (error 2032) on some of our PC's. The problem looks to be linked to the proxy server used for connecting to the Internet blocking access to the Adobe activation server. The details of the proxy server are either automatically detected or held in a configuration script (a .pac file).
In internet explorer, go to Tools -> Internet Options.
Click 'Connections' tab, and then click on 'Lan settings'.
This should show you how you are connecting to the LAN and hence internet. It will either be 'Automatically detected' or referenced through a .pac file.
Our problem was a .pac file which referenced a proxy server which was blocking access to the Adobe activation server. We just changed to use a different .pac file which referenced a different proxy server which did allow access, and the problem was solved.
Either way, your IT department should be able to unblock access on the relevant proxy server and you should be able to read your documents.
Hope this helps. -
Can't activate Digital Editions
Can't activate Digital Editions. Error: E_ADEPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED http://adeactivate.adobe.com/adept/Activate 2012-09-02T13:32:48-07:00%20(1346617968000)%20is%20before%202012-09-02T14:06:49-07:00%20( 1346620009678) I checked date and time zone of computer (and tried all possibilities. I have moved from Ghana to Europe to Canada in recent years). Also activated immediately after download, so 'good until' time should not have passed. What now?
Thanks A LOT!! I have been going crazy for the past hour trying to understand why I kept getting that error message when I tried to authorize my computer. I even contacted customer service through chat but they couldn't help me.
So yes, same thing as you : the way to finally manage to authorize the computer was to CHANGE THE TIME. Actually, funnily enough, what worked for me was changing the Time Zone. I think it's based on what address or city you give when you register.
For example, for me, I had the right time for my city, but the wrong Time Zone. Once everything matched, it worked.
So for those of you who get that "REQUEST_EXPIRED" error message, you now know what to do! -
"Unable to find 'Digital Editions' Folder"
Hi everybody,
I tried several times to install, uninstall, reinstall, etc. Adobe Digital Editions 1.7.1.
Unfortuately, the result is each time the same : I get a box telling (in French) "Unable to find 'Digital Edition' Folder".
I created manually a "Digital Editions" and a "My Digital Editions" folders in the "My Documents" (or Documents?) folder in Vista (in fact, my D: HD).
I did the same in the User\Me\Documents Folder, just in case.
The software is still unable to locate the desired folder.
I searched the program folder and did not find any config file such as an .ini file to give me any information.
I searched the registry and did not find any entry to tell me where that folder could be.
And, there is no preference menu in the software to manually choose a "Digital Edition Folder"
So, does it mean that software will never work on my computer?
Is there anything I can do to make it work?
Thanks in advance
PhilippeOops! I saw too late that there has been already a thread about that issue... for 2 years!!!
And still no satisfying answer!
Congratulations, Adobe, how efficient you are! -

Unable to authorise digital editions
I use digital editions to read books from my public library. Suddenly when it was downloading a borrowed book it gave my an error as follows: "Connection error detected - Digital Editions could not connect to the fulfillment server. Please make sure you are connected to the Internet". The internet is fine so I uninstalled Digital Editions and re-installed it. When I tried to authorize it it gave me the same error as above. I contacted my library who said I should switch my firewall off and try again. Did this and unfortunately it didn't help. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?
OK- I was given the answer by a user on another forum, For anyone else - I must have had some kind of information on the PC that made Adobe think I had an activation already (despite the fact that I've never used Digitial Editions before) so running the "erase authorisation" first did the trick, seems you need to do this the first time you setup an account even if you haven't had an account before.

Unable to open Digital Editions books on Kobo Touch.
I have just joined BigW E-Books, I have downloaded two books, they open in Digital Editions but when I try and send them to my Kobo E-reader. They do not transfer in an openable state, message says "Doc is protected and is not currently authorised for use with your Adobe ID." This happens even though I have an authorised ID, which of course is my email address. Anyone know how I can make this work?
It may be that you need a little more: not sure about the user name for Kobo is my email address, this is how I communicate with Kobo.
That might be a Kobo specific knowledge of your email, and not have got through to the Adobe DRM part of the Kobo necessary for reading DRM eBooks.
Also, the Help on the authorization may only be telling you about the Adobe authorization of ADE, and not of the device.
Lots of mays and mights above, but try ....
When the Kobo is plugged into to computer with ADE running, the Kobo should show in the left hand panel.
Then run 'menu/Help/Authorize Device' (menu/Library/Authorize Device on older v1.7.2) to make sure the Adobe registration has been passed to the Kobo. -
Unable to activate or edit the transformation in dev
Hi guys,
i have created a transformation in dev bet info source and infocube, which is a standard one and having more than 40 routines. Now it is been moved to quality and production, where we can see only 10 routines. By mistake i deleted one routine from one info object in dev, then the transformation became inactive. I am trying to activate, which is not permitting not even for edit also. I can add deleted routine only once the edit mode is possible.
pl give solution;Hi, since you have alreadytransported your transformation to Quality & Prod, request you to try the following.
Check in your Dev env., if your transformation is locked out in any of the transport request. Usually when you would have deleted the routine by mistake an dtried to save, the system would prompt for a transport request. Did you choose "Local Objects" or did you choose a request. If you have chosen a request, you can try to delete it. Also check if the object is locked otherwise in SM12.
Also check if you have the necessary authorization post the transport to Quality & Prod environment.
I can't think of any other reason why the system would not allow you to edit it.
Once you are able to edit, copy & paste the routine from quality or Prod, if its part of the ones that have been transported.
While creating the transport request, to be on the safe side, check for the full transport package in SE09, which will also give you an idea of how many routines are being transported, before you actually move to prod.

Unable to autorise the digital edition for Overdrive
I am unable to authorize the digital edition for overdrive. I am using the same user id and password that of Overdrive account. I still get the error "Incorrect Login Id or password for the selected ebook vendor."
How do I resolve the issue. We plan to remove this limitation in the free Personal Edition of Lumira before the end of this year. In the meantime, as mentioned by Chris, you can initiate the 30 day trial option which you can activate from within the "Home" page of the Personal Edition of Lumira.
Here's more info on accessing the 30 day trial of the Standard Edition:

I have downloaded and installed adobe digital edition 3 in my windows 8 laptop. But it fails to open. I get an error message saying "adobe digital edition has stopped working. A problem caused the problem to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". I have downloaded the set up file from the adobe site from the link http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/digitaleditions/ADE_3.0_Installer.exe. Can anyone help. I have bought online books and I am unable to read them unless this is installed.
Hi Kishore,
Which OS are you using?
There are some solutions mentioned on this thread that might be helpful to you :Re: adobe digital editions has stopped working
You might also want to check the KB : Installing Adobe Digital Editions 2.0 in Windows Vista
