Unable to activate software after upgrading to Windows 8

This post contains one question.
I am unable to activate my Creative Cloud products after upgrading to Windows 8. I have used the Chat service on three separate occasions, and after the employee asks me for my e-mail and order number, determines that they are unable to provide me the instructions necessary to license or activate the software. So I must be forwarded to a special team to help me resolve this problem. During the transfer, I get cut off -- each time.
On Windows 7, I deactivated my Creative Cloud membership through Photoshop.
I upgraded to Windows 8, installing all security updates and restarting the system several times.
Now that all updates are installed, I want to re-activate my Adobe products -- but am unable to find the commands to do so.
I have logged in to Adobe Application manager, using the e-mail address and password that Adobe has in the system for my account.
How do I activate my Adobe products?

Does the solution provided by customer 'kipedias' in this post http://forums.adobe.com/message/4903206#4923341 resolve the issue?

Did you install the W8.1 graphics driver from your notebook's support and driver page?

  • Reinstall Thinkpad software after upgrade from XP to Windows 7

Hello all, I suspect this is well explored territory but I haven't yet been able to find an answer here.
I have a T60 model 2623-D6U that came with XP Pro. I will be installing a new HDD and Windows 7 Pro. What is the best way to reinstall the ThinkVantage software after a clean Windows 7 Pro installation?
Is it simply a matter of installing the Lenovo system update program and letting it pull in the appropriate drivers and utilities, or is there more to the process of getting the system back to factory installed OS + drivers and utilities?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer, it is greatly appreciated.
(HDD + W7 Pro cost $115, and given my relatively low usage of this laptop the upgrade path seems appropriate. If Microsoft hadn't forced the issue, this machine would still be running XP!)

    > Is it simply a matter of installing the Lenovo system update program and letting it pull in the appropriate drivers and utilities
Yes, it is basically that simple.
You don't have to install all of the utilities that System Update proposes. If there are utilities that you never used with XP then you probably won't use them with Win7, so there's no urgent need to install them.
Also there are some utilities that shipped with Lenovo's version of XP that were licensed from third-parties that may not be available for download from Lenovo's website. Fortunately most of those either have free equivalents or their functionality is now integrated in Win7.

  • Unable to connect to Oracle db v 9.2.0.1.0 after upgrading to Windows 2003

Hello, I am working on a java enterprise application that accesses Oracle DB version 9.2.0.1.0. It was working until I upgraded the operating system from Windows 2000 server to Windows 2003 server enterprise edition. the db connection is lost sometimes when accessing the db for long time so i have to close the session and open a new one. also the batch file (wfjvlsnr.bat) that resides under (Oracle_Home\ora92\wf\admin) can not connect to the db with the user name (owf_mgr) after upgrading to Windows 2003 although it was working on Windows 2000 server....
Could you sujjest any solution for this problem?
    Thanks....

Are you talking about upgrading the client operating system? Or the server operating system? The first version of the Oracle database that was supported on Windows 2003 was 9.2.0.3, so if you upgraded the server operating system, you'll need to apply an appropriate database patchset.

  • After upgrading to Windows 8.1 firefox longer works. I got it to load but screen is either blank or doesn't go to target address

after upgrading to Windows 8.1 from 8 nothing works correctly. Firefox 1st received 'unable to load XPcom' After resetting and uninstalling several times Firefox now loads to either a support screen or blank screen. It accepts address input but doesn't execute to target. So far I have been unable to roll back upgrade.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Drivers issue for Lenovo u400 after upgrading to Windows 8

I recently upgraded to windows 8 an after that facing driver issue for ATI Radeon graphic card and wifi, and also cypress trackpad  software is not working. All the supported drivers provided by Lenovo for windows 8 are fake and none of them are working. I even tried to search for drivers for graphic card from AMD website but unable to find any suitable drivers.
And to my surprise when i called lenovo technical support for help, the representative told that no such upgradation is possible for older system, but in Lenovo wesite it is clearly mentioned that upgradion is possible and they are provinding windows 8 drivers for this model which does not works at all :-(
Kindly some one suggest some workaround for this issue.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I had the same problems with the Cypress driver after upgrading to Windows. Based on I did I downloaded the Windows 8 driver for the Ideapad U300s and it works GREAT. There were no compatibility issues, shows up in Device Manager etc. It also has and icon on the task bar that responds to the F6 key for disabling. Best yet this driver has a Palm Rejection tab. I set it for heavy and no wild pointer movements so I find I now keep the trackpad enabled. NOTE: the file name of the driver I downloaded and installed is: Ogt102w8. Hope this helps you and can't figure out why Lenovo has a driver listed for the U400 that does not work while this driver works great.

  • Keyboard wireless key not working after upgrading to windows 8.1

    Hello,
I am having hp pavilion dv6-6165tx notebook, where keyboard having a wireless button that turns ON and OFF all wireless devices, After upgrading to windows 8.1, HP Connection Manager is not getting installed, as well as Key is not working, key color turns red and white but no action is performed.
    Kindly suggest me some solution.
Note: HP Doesn't provide drivers for windows 8/8.1 ONLY WINDOWS 7 for hp pavilion dv6-6165tx.
    Thanks.

    Hi @Jayesh_Bhadja ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv6-6165tx Notebook and the Wireless keyboard not working correctly. Here is a link to troubleshoot the keyboard.
The HP Connection Manager is something that is for Windows 7 not Windows 8.1. I would uninstall this from your Notebook.  Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating. It has a troubleshooting tool in this.
Make sure all your updates have been completed. I would try restarting my Notebook a few times.
If that does not help I would uninstall the keyboard from the Device manager.
    Thanks.

  • Ethernet LAN not working after upgrading to windows 8.1

After upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1, my Ethernet LAN is no longer working. Wireless LAN connectivity is OK. I have run the HP Support Assistant and downloaded the drivers for 8.1. Hovever, I do not see a 8.1 driver listed for the Ethernet LAN.

You're very welcome. See if the recovery manager still works so you can roll back to W8. Please read this guide for how to use it. http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03489643 If it doesn't then you will have to order a set of recovery disks from HP, or you can install this plain W8 OEM software this guy has posted on a link. Lots of folks have used it successfully, which is why I posted it. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0W9PBigPy94aVJWSndyTFNFMzg/edit?pli=1 Then use this tool to make the iso file bootable to a DVD or 4+ GB USB flash drive. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool Yes, that really stinks why you and I could not upgrade without an issue. I disabled about 5 or 6 devices in the device manager and the code 12 would not go away. I have no clue why the PC works fine on W8 but not on W8.1. My notebook is a few years older than yours and it worked fine on W8.1 but not on W10. Go figure...

  • Loss of internet connectivity after upgrading to windows 8.1

Hi, After upgrading to windows 8.1 from windows 8 i am experiencing major problems , loss of internet connectivity for no reason both I.E. and G/CHROME are now taking an age to open there are no virus issues as far as i can see.
I have uninstalled and re-installed  windows 8.1 about four times over the past 9 months or so and the same thing happens after all the updates are in it runs like a dream for say 6weeks or so then i get the same faults as described above then i uninstall/ re-install ok for 6 weeks .
I would apprieate any help or advice thanks

    Hi @BMATH
    Thank you your query.
I understand that after updating to Windows 8.1 about every 6 weeks you loose wireless connectivity for no reason  and the web pages are very slow to open.  If you uninstall and reinstall Windows 8.1 it works fine again for about the same amount of time.  You have done this about 4 times with the same result each time.
Do you know if there is any changes at that time , perhaps an update?
You stated you do not believe you have any viruses.  Just to be sure here are two links that will help confirm that.

After updating to Windows 8.1 have you checked for Windows updates?
Have you ran HP Support Assistant ?

  • SSL Error after upgrading to Windows 8.1

After upgrade my Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, I got this SSL Error when I tried to go to "https://google.com":
    http://i.stack.imgur.com/2kaXO.png
    ...and this in IE: http://i.stack.imgur.com/7Gxbw.png
I have did some research and tried to change my system time up to date, reset my modem and use wireshark to see if anybody is tracking my network, but none of them seem to be the problem.
Anyone can help me? Thanks a lot...
EDIT: I have checked my browsers and just figure out that every connection from my computer is not able to connect to any SSL connection, for example Yahoo Messenger login. I'm thinking my computer SSL Certificate got serious problem, is
    there anyway to "reset" it?

    Hi,
For the issue, it can happen for a wide variety of reasons.
I suggest we try the following methods to narrow down the issue.
    Method 1.
Clear the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) state:
In Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
Click the Content tab, and then click Clear SSL state.
    Method 2.
Press Win+X, and then click Command Prompt(Admin).
At the command prompt, type sfc /scannow, and then press ENTER.
    Method 3.
Press Win+R, type regedit in the box, and then press ENTER.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Key.
Type FEATURE_ERROR_PAGE_BYPASS_ZONE_CHECK_FOR_HTTPS_KB950067 to name the new registry subkey, and then press ENTER.
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
Type iexplore.exe to name the new registry entry, and then press ENTER.
On the Edit menu, click Modify.
Type 1, and then click OK.
    Exit Registry Editor.
If the issue persists, I suggest you reinstall the IE to check the result.
    Hope these could be helpful.

  • Networking Issues after Upgrading to Windows 8.1

I have a Windows 8 desktop PC that is working fine with my network.  I can browse the Internet fine using all major browsers etc.  After upgrading to Windows 8.1 through the Windows Store I noticed that my wired networking was not working correctly.
The status of the network does not change (i.e. it doesn't change to Limited Connectivity) however browsing to sites in Chrome, IE or Firefox doesn't work as well as Windows 8.
IE11 gives me the error "This page can't be displayed, make sure the web address is correct" and other browsers give a similar error.  I normally have to refresh 2-3 times to get a new page to load, sometimes even more.  Everything works
fine from a laptop connected at the same time so it isn't an network issue with my provider.
I thought this might be a driver issue with the two on-board Marvell wired network adapters.   I wasn't able to rollback the driver to older versions I found on the Internet.  I then purchased another network card, Intel Desktop gigabit and the
issue still persists with that adapter.  I then tried a USB wireless adapter and the issue still persists using wifi with the wired adapters disabled.  I tried a new network cable and no luck either.  I also tried resetting the IP stack using
    the various netsh commands.
After that I thought I might try reset the Windows 8.1 PC, however that didn't work as I didn't have the restore image available as I upgraded from the Windows Store.  I then tried installing Windows 8.1 fresh using a ISO with my Windows 8 key using
some of the recent guides that are available.  That all worked but it didn't fix the networking issues.
I re-installed Windows 8.0 and the networking is now fixed and back to working normal again.  I'd like to try again but I think I will have the same problems.  I can't imagine why this would be a driver issue as I tried 3 different network adapters
and two installs of Windows 8.1.  Any ideas what would be the cause of the Windows 8.1 issue?

    HI,
Since this issue only occurred in the your desktop PC, and many network adapters you tried, failed, thus I think maybe we should focus on the model of your desktop PC, I suggest you update the BIOS and chipset from the manufacture to improve
    the performance of win8.1.
Please also test this issue in safe mode with networking.

The issue occurs in safe mode as well under Windows 8.1.  The motherboard is an Asus P5B Premium, however it works on Windows 8.  How would I update the chipset when booted into Windows 8.1?  In Device Manager it wasn't allowing me to update
the network drivers as they were newer versions already installed.
Edit:  I also installed at Intel Chipset Device software dated 8/8/2013 with version 9.4.0.1026 and the issue still occurs.  I am also running the latest BIOS that is available.

  • WPA security Types are missing after upgrading to Windows 8.1

After upgrading from Windows 8 Pro 64bit to Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit on my Sony Vaio Duoe 13, I could not find WPA security type while configuring Wireless network manually. (only WPA2 and 802.1X are available).
I have done a lot of troubleshootings like
    1-Reinstall Wirless original driver
2-Updating the wireless driver to the latest
3-Uninstall and reinstall windows 8 then upgrading again to windows 8.1
    But the same.
Is there any way to add WPA to the security type?

    Yes! It works!
To recap : My laptop has an Atheros AR9002WB-1NG adapter, windows 8.1. Even when it had windows 8, it was unable to connect, but unlike now, I didn't look closely enough about the type of network. Originally I thought it was
this problem. But they confirmed that others with windows 8 had no issues with this. Then , when I tried configuring the network manually, I could not find the WPA-enterprise option at all, only the
    WPA2-enterprise.
So here I was, and Greg Seth's answer gave me an idea.
In the following instructions, some commands are obvious, so I won't explain unless necessary. So here's what you do :
    0) Go to command line, preferably Administrator (not tried without).
    1) C:\Windows\System32> cd \Users\<User>\Documents
    2) C:\Users\<User>\Documents> netsh
    3) netsh> wlan
    4) netsh wlan> show profiles
    5) delete profile name=<yournetwork>
Enclose the name of network within quotes, this is to ensure that you can cleanly set up the right profile. Don't close the netsh, we'll need it some more. If you do, just reach there the same way as before.
    6) Right click the connection icon in lower right corner > open Network and Sharing Center > Set up a new connection or network > Manually connect to a wireless network
    7) Try to create a profile, and try to get as many details to correspond with your requirement. The rest we'll edit in command line, so let's make it as easy as possible.
    8) Do the same at the next screen. Edit Network settings > change all the parameters that you can, to match the requirement. My university tech support has a detailed document listing the options to choose, usually for windows 7, or even windows 8. get
as many of them as possible.
    9) Finish. Move back to your netsh terminal
    10) netsh wlan> show profile <profilename>
without quotes this time. This should show your previous attempt at creating a profile in the GUI dialog boxes. In my case, it had WPA2 and AES. It has to become WPA and TKIP. I also set my authMode to userOnly, since I hadn't done it right in the dialog box
    before.
    11) netsh wlan> set profileparameter
displays a humongous list of parameters with detailed options, just carefully examine the syntax. It's all here.
    12) netsh wlan> set profileparameter name=<profilename> authentication=wpa encryption=tkip authMode=userOnly
    13) netsh wlan> set profileparameter
    Don't exit this yet.
    14) Now click the connection icon, and connect to the network. It will ask you the username and password in a different style, that was my clue something was different this time.
    15) It should connect. In my case atleast, it did. Verify by browsing.
    16) netsh wlan> export profile name=<profile name>
In order that you're not put through this ordeal again, export the profile safely to a file. Again, the profile name in quotes.
    17) Wonder why microsoft makes things difficult for us!

  • No Audio Output after Upgrading to windows 7; Soundblaster Card is installed

After upgrading to Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit), I found that my speakers (which are built into my HP w2207 monitor) are not recognized.  In the notification area I have the speaker with a red x in it, and it says “No Audio Output Device is installed”.
I have a HP Pavilion D4890Y with the Sound Blaster Audigy X-FI 24-Bit Xtreme sound card.  I tried looking in Device Manager, and found “Multimedia Audio Controller” under Other, which states no drivers could be found.
I tried following some of the advice online, and downloaded the latest Realtek High Definition Audio drivers, but and the download seems to run successfully, but I don’t notice any differences.  When I reboot as prompted, I’ve still got the same error.
I then tried forcing the Audio Device to use a Realtek driver, but Windows protests (saying it’s not sure it’s compatable with my device, and I end up with “Realtek High Definition Audio” under “Sound, video and game controllers”, but it has a yellow exclamation point.  If I click properties, the device status says “This device cannot start (Code 10).” If I try to update the driver I get the message that it cannot find the driver software.   If I uninstall the driver I’m back to the original problem (multimedia audio controller under original devices, with no known drivers).
I also tried downloading various files from the Creative site, but it’s not clear which one to use, and the 4 or 5 different ones I tried (including their recommended beta version for Windows 7), when each of them opens it says it can’t find any supported devices.
    Suggestions?  Thanks!

    Hi,
"If the driver is a previous revision install it using the TROUBLESHOOT COMPATIBILITY tool that is part of the Windows 7 OS.
To use the tool, uninstall any drivers for the sound card you show listed in Control Panel/Programs/Uninstall Programs  list.  Delete the Device from Device Manager.
Download the revision of the driver from www.creative.com  website to a folder you've created and placed on your desktop.
After the driver is downloaded, navigate to the "setup.exe" of the driver and Right Click - select Troubleshoot Compatibility  ----
Let the compatibility tool select a possible solution then use its suggestion of TRY RECOMMENDED WINDOWS SETTINGS, if it does not find a solution it will submit only CUSTOMIZE SETTINGS and let you install it as you designate."
The preceding information comes from a Microsoft Windows 7 forum regarding an issue similar to yours.
the information you provided did verify that it is a sound blaster XiFi Extreme card as checked against the Vendor / Device list.

  • Driver for the ethernet controller on a HP Pavillion P600000 Series desktop after upgrading to Windows 7 Enterprise?

After upgrading from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Enterprise (x64) Service Pack 1 (build 7601), I cannot find working drivers for my ethernet controller. The desktop is a HP Pavillion, Model
No. p6710f. I located the drivers on HP's website, but Windows 7 Enterprise
is not listed as compatible. Compatibility list:
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Basic (64-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
The original driver (according to HP's site) is a Realtek PCIe Family networking controller, Version:7.26.902.2010 Rev. A.
    I tried contacting HP, but apparently I voided their warranty once I upgraded to Windows 7 Enterprise. I do not have a support plan with Microsoft because the operating system was purchase through TechSoup (nonprofit). I greatly appreciate your help;
