Unable to add additional photos to shared photo stream, not updating on iOS devices either.

I am sharing photos from a vacation with family and I am not able to add additional photos to the photo stream. I set it up in iPhoto on my Mac. I think it originally tapped out for some reason because I hit a daily limit for number of photos uploaded. I had about 440 photos in the photo stream. I went and deleted some photos and now have 350 but the iOS devices haven't dropped down to that number yet. When I manually drag a new photo to add to the photo stream it doesn't add. Any thoughts on how to correct?

I turned off photo sharing in iphoto and then turned it back on and that resolved the issue.

  • Photos from the PC does not appear on iOS devices

Win7-64 installed icloud 2.0. Iphone 4, iPad new (iOS 6)
I put the photos in the folder uploads, they appear on your computer in the my photostream, but do not appear on ios devices.
Climbed into the iPhone file manager and found an interesting picture. Photos taken on iOS go to one folder photostream and displayed on all devices and PCs, but throw in uploads pictures in Windows also went on iOS devices, but for some reason in a completely different location. And in the photostream on iPhones and aypade not appear, although present. I wonder what this folder is and whether it is in others?
Reset iphone now tried, does not help.

Come on, surely no one can see one or two folders on the iphone?

  • HT201317 Using icloud to back up photos and shared photostream, why not updating?

I've been manually backing up my camera roll on my windows 7 pc the old fashioned way (copying files through windows explorer) for some time, and have my pc as a whole backed up on a cloud product.
I have this week however learned about icloud and the ability to back up the shared streams I'm subscribed to. I therefore installed icloud control panel and watched my family's streams appear in My Pictures.
However, one shared stream did not transfer completely - there are 18 of my mum's pictures missing - and My Photo Stream has only transferred 70.
Know there's a 30 day limit so given that is the first backup, it may not back up all 1000 as the earlier ones are older than 30 days, but the selection making up to 70 aren't the most recent as showing on my iPhone, so its no that. I took a whole lot together last weekend, one is on there but not the rest (for example).
I can back up manually to get a complete set of my own photos but think I must be doing something wrong if it's missing some.
I did go out after backing up first time, did I interrupt it , which is why there are only 70?  How do I restart it? - given that it didn't finish first backup.
Also, I got home tonight, and the ones I've taken today have not transferred over.
Is there something I'm supposed to do to trigger a backup? ( both to finish first back up, and to backup new ones too)
Given that I'm using icloud more as a way of getting my photos and shared streams onto my pc, rather than backing up in icloud (as I have my own cloud too), what settings should I have on my iPhone, and what settings on iTunes?
At the moment on iPhone In settings/icloud/storage & backup, I have icloud backup turned on.
In iTunes, on the summary page for my iPhone (when plugged in) under Backups, I have 'iCloud' option ticked. Rather than 'this computer', when I change to 'this computer', the icloud setting on my iPhone gets turned to 'off'. I did hit the 'back up now' under 'manually back up and restore' in case that triggered it, and its showing a back up date and time of last night when I did this - but My Photo Stream is still at 70 - not complete transfer, or new ones - and mum's 18 still missing.
Same page in iTunes, under 'Option' I have both 'sync over wifi' and 'manually manage music and videos' checked.
I'm sure I'm overlooking something simple, any ideas?
    Thanks!

Right, they're slowly reappearing. And My Photo Stream is updating this time too.
So, is it signing in and out that did this? Is this what's supposed to happen?
I should have said, I was looking for a way to back shared streams as we all have each others streams on our iOS devices and its filling up our storage, so we want to start deleting from the beginning, but not til we've backed up.
However, if icloud works by constantly removing and rebacking up from what is on the device then, then this isn't the right solution for us, as it would remove the complete stream and back up a smaller stream after we've started deleting...
Did i do something wrong here, was this supposed to happen?
    What should I have done?
How do I stop this happening again?? I'm clearly not using icloud control properly!

  • HT201077 As of recently any photos I add to a shared photostream will not update for others. Only I can see them. How come others sharing this photo stream are not getting the new photos?

As of recently any photos I add to a shared photostream will not update for others and I don't see the updated photos on my other devices. Only I can see them from the device that i've posted from. How come others sharing this photostream are no longer getting the new photos? My iphone (the device i'm adding from) shows 20 pictures in this shared photostream and yet 4 other people that I share this photostream album with and my ipad only show 12 photos. For the past week I keep adding photos thinking people will see them but it just won't update the new ones. Any ideas how to fix this?

You can stop new photos being automatically added to Photostream in iPhoto from iPhoto preferences > Photostream.

  • Photo Quality - Shared Photo Streams

Is there any method of changing the quality of photos within shared Photo Streams?
For example, there's a massive drop from 8MP to 3.1MP for photos taken with an iPhone 4S then added to a shared Photo Stream. This makes it pretty much useless if I want to easily share original quality photos with other family members.

Photos stored in 'Photo Stream' are uploaded to the server with the original photo quality (Apple: "On your Mac or PC, your photos are downloaded and stored in full resolution. On your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple TV, your Photo Stream photos are delivered in a device-optimized resolution that speeds downloads and saves storage space.")
When you access the photo stream with a Mac/PC, the photos will be at the same original quality, but on a device like the iPhone 3GS, however, the photos will be at a 'device optimized' resolution. So if you access the photo stream with an iPhone 3GS the photos will be a lower quality, but the photos on the server will still be at the original quality, which means you can retrieve the full quality photos if you have a Mac/PC.
With shared photo streams, however, the situation is a bit different. Apple states that "Shared Photo Streams deliver photos in a device-optimized resolution that speeds upload and downloads and saves storage space", and therefore the photos are not uploaded to the server in the original resolution.

  • How to get same order of appearance of photos in Iphoto album and album shown to IOS devices after sharing?

How to get same order of appearance of photos in Iphoto album and album shown to IOS devices after sharing?

    Hello Leonie!
I use Iphoto sharing with my family on their ios devises.  And it works.
The only problem is that, now, I try to organize the photos in a meaningful way (not chronologically) before Iphoto Sharing (Icloud)
But on the ios devices the photos is arranged chronologically.
    Is there a solution?

  • Photo stream on my pc with windows 8 upload to my macbook (iphoto) but not to my ios devices.

Photo stream on my pc with windows 8 upload to my macbook (iPhoto) but not to my ios devices. On the other hand, and that is the funny thing, the shared picture folder on the pc is updated with new photos/pictures from my ios devices and from my macbook. Anyone has any idea of what is the problem? This drives me crazy because i can't upload a picture manually from the PC. Hopefully anybody have an answer. Thanks in advance.

Hi Naddod , I have the same problem. The same pc photostream receives new photos added using the photostream "add picture" button but ipad and iphone does not. If I take new photo from Iphone I can find it in Photostream of PC, Iphone and Ipad. Seems IOS error. Strange thing is that , if then I erase that new photo from the PC photostream, than it will be erased from photostream of PC, iPhone and iPad, erasing works, adding not.

  • Shared Variable does not update when typedef is changed

I have a shared variable of type custom control (typedef made up of a cluster). When I chang the typedef, e.g. the name or type of one of the fields in the cluster, and then save it, the shared variable does not update to reflect this change. That is, if I place the shared variable on my block diagram and do a "UNBUNDLE BY NAME" on the output, I see the old fields. I have to go back to the properties of the shared variable, change its data type, apply it, then go back and change it back to my custom control.
Anyone else seen this behaviour? Anyone know how to get the shared variable to update without going through this procedure?

  • Shared icalendar not updating on other devices

Hi all, I share my calendar with two others, one using an iPhone the other an iPad both with iOS6. My updated calendar does not update on their devices. I understand that the syncing process occurs when the device is connected to WiFi & being charged? Am I correct & is there any other reason why they are not updating?
    Regards,
    Roy

I'm having this same problem. Suddenly no shared libraries can be seen. At first I thought it might be a software issue (all computers have been upgraded to iTunes 7.1.1). But now from reading this, I think it must be a router issue. I just replaced our router this week, switching out a Linksys 4-port router for another one almost identical. I did no configuration to the router, just plugged it in, reset it a few times, and it worked. I connect to my ISP via DHCP, so no settings required.
But it must be the new router that's causing the iTunes problem. Does anyone know of a router configuration that might help? Maybe some port forwarding? Does anyone know the port over which itunes would be sharing its library?

  • How to add a caption to photo in shared photo stream?

    Hi @all,
I hope I am not right but there is no option of using the description/caption for a photo in my iPhoto library when I share it with other people in a photo stream?
All I found was that you can use the comment field to add a caption-like text to each photo. But when I create a slideshow within iPhoto I then cannot use this comment text as a caption for the slideshow. This is completely useless to me as I would have to copy all my captions from the description field to the comment field to show them in a shared photo stream. Who at Apple came up with that idea? I might be wrong but isn't the caption feature one of the most important features when you share photos with other people? How should a fried know what a shared photo shows if I cannot add a descriptive caption to it?
    Cheers,
    Martin

    Martin,
there is no way to add captions, only the comments box in the Shared Stream.
See this discussion:  Re: How do I get photo descriptions to show on photos uploaded to Photo Stream?
The only textual annotation that can be streamed as part of the metadata of the shared photo is the filename (or  EXIF tags you added to the file in your camera or with other programs, like the copyright notice). So, to transfer a caption with your streamed photo, replace the filename by a caption.  You can do that in iPhoto by exporting your photos using "File > Export" and selecting "Filename > Use Title" in the export panel. This will use your current titles as the filenames. Then reimport the  exported photos and share the reimported photos with the changed filenames. You can delete the reimported files from the library after sharing them, but don't delete them from the stream.

  • Shared photo stream not updating on ipad ios 7.1?

I have an iphone 4 and an ipad mini both on ios 7.1
I use them interchangeably to look at or add to shared photo streams. They have both worked great for some time although today the ipad is not showing about 30 photos/videos. An example is out of about 1300 pictures 30 of them were posted yesterday that are NOT visible on my ipad. They are however visible on my iphone. I can add NEW photos to the stream from either device and the other device updates accordingly but for some reason those 30 or so pictures will NOT show up on my ipad. What am I missing?

  • IPhoto Stalls While Uploading Photos To Shared Photo Stream

    Hi,
I'm running OSX Mavericks and iPhoto 9.5.
I created a new Event in iPhoto and imported my photos.
I selected all images (71 off) and clicked Share -> iCloud.
I created a new shared Photo Stream and invited subscribers.
Photos began appearing in the Photo Stream, but only six photos appeared, not the full set of 71.
To try to fix the issue,
    I left it overnight.
    I restarted iPhoto.
    I restarted iMac.
I either removed the photos from the Photo Stream or deleted the Photo Stream itself—can't remember which.
Depending on which action I took in the previous point, I either selected all the photos in the Event again and shared them to the same Photo Stream or I created another, new Photo Stream and shared all the photos to it.
Photos began appearing in the Photo Stream, but only 15 photos appeared, not the full set of 71.
Any idea how to get the remaining photos to upload to the shared Photo Stream.
    Thanks,
    Ken.

    Hi,
Okay, I did some searching here on the forums and found this post by Old Toad.
I followed his instructions and it fixed my issue.
    Old Toad recommended:
Disabling Photos in System Preferences -> iCloud
Disabling My Photo Stream and Shared Photo Streams in iPhoto's Preferences.
    Reboot machine.
Re-enabling Photos in System Preferences -> iCloud
Re-enabling My Photo Stream and Shared Photo Streams in iPhoto's Preferences.
In addition, I did the following in iPhoto,
Deleted the 15 photos in the shared Photo Stream.
Selected all the photos in the Event and shared them to the existing shared Photo Stream, i.e. I didn't re-create a new Photo Stream at this stage.
All photos uploaded successfully to the stream in approximately 10-15 minutes.  Issue solved.
Hope this helps anyone with the same or a similar issue.
    Regards,
    Ken.

  • Automator script to move photos to shared photo stream in iPhoto?

Is there anyway to automatically add new photos, as they are being imported, into a shared photo stream? They default to the main photo stream, which the client will not be subscribing to. If not within iPhoto itself, is there anyway to create an Automator workflow that will do this automatically? The client wants an elegant solution.
Here is the process that I would like to accomplish. A photo is taken with a point and shoot containing an Eye-Fi card. The photo is sent to iPhoto, where it is added to the shared photo stream. The client can view the photos taken at the site, but not worry that his personal photos from his iPhone will end up back on the work computer where this process began. (He will turn off the "My photo stream" slider on his iPhone).
Since I can find no way to get the photos taken from the camera to default to the shared photo stream, can Automator move these photos to that photo stream throughout the day?

I've got a few hundred photos to add for each shared photo stream so I don't want to go individually adding them, there must be an easier way.
Have you tried to share only a few photos at a time? When I am sharing a small number of photos all it once, it works.
