Unable to add effects to sidebar video in Presenter

When I import an AVI file as a sidebar video to a slide, I'm unable to assign effects (fade in/ out) to the video. Why is feature not available? I've tried other video formats- MPG, QT, etc.- but still I'm locked out from applying effects.
The Adobe Presenter User Guide states:
"10-
Effects Specifies the effect, such as Fade In, to apply to the video. "
However, when importing a video into the slide area, only then it seems the effects can be added. Looks like another design flaw, er, "feature" from Adobe.
My client is not impressed!

I think that when people are unable to add a simple dissolve between two clips it is almost always because they don't have those hidden frames available, and they are often moving to FCP from another editor. As an experiment try shortening the length of the outgoing clip and also shortening the length of the incoming clip. Then close the gap between the two and try adding a transition. If you are applying a transition by clicking on one from the drop down menu, you must first highlight the point where the two clips merge on the timeline. A fast way to add a cross dissolve is to control click the point where to two clips merge and select "add cross dissolve"

I have a motorola ROKR E6 I am able to use it as a webcam in ichat on my mac mini. But when I try to add effects to it iChat says connection problem. I tried this on photo booth as soon as I launch Photo Booth while ROKR is connected Photo Booth crashes. But if the ROKR in not connected it does not crash. Is this problem with my iChat or is the problem with ROKR E6?

If so on the right does it say it needs a Mac Driver (macam or ioxperts or possibly branded from Logitech)
Or does it says it will work with the Mac OS after 10.4.9 ?

This will allow at least iMovie to see the camera.
This is because iMovie can see many formats of Video signal.
iChat can only see DV imput (or converted imput from certain USB cameras)
When the camera is a USB one it will fall into two categories.
1) the Newer UVC (USB Video Class ) Compliant cameras that the Mac OS 10.4.9 and above can use in all apps
2) those that are not USB Video Class compliant that need a driver.
The for iChat to see the second group you also need the iUSBCam utility as well as the Mac Driver.
Are you talking about the Logitech or the Mobil phone camera ?

Unable to add music videos file to itune for my iphone

Solved. I changed the iT folder and my iP got lost the connection with the proper library. Had to change it back and re-connect to the correct library.

I am unable to add any videos to the itunes library after updating my itunes to the latest version.

does it say your nano has no more capacity left? Your itunes should have a bar at the bottom of the screen to let you know how much space is taken up.

Video lags when I add effects

When ever I ad effects to my video the video lags. Its fine when I export it. Is there anyway I can turn the videoquality down to stop this or something,

Right now I am using the blink effect. I wasn’t sure if it was just that effect so I tried the emboss effect and a blur effect and the video seemed to lag when I used them as well. When I export the video the blink effect runs smoothly, but its hard to tell if I got the video how I want it when it lags in the preview window.

Unable to add artwork to videos in iTunes 11 after iOS 7 upgrade

Prior to upgrading to iOS 7, I had collected many of my own video files which are uploaded to my iPad. But after upgrading to iOS 7, they suddenly have no artwork associated with them.
When I connect my iPad to iTunes to try and add artwork to the videos, the Artwork tab is greyed out.

I had the same problem on IPAD after updating to 7.0.6 . I did reset all network settings. Done complete restore again, but didnot solved my problem. But the thing i dont want to do with the ipad was the jailbreak. I tried the Evasi0n jailbreak and installed ccsettings from cydia and it gave the option of 3G on /off in control centre. (Swiping up from home button and then your see many controls and then you can swipe left or right and you will see 3G button) . I just switched on the 3G BUTTON and solved the problem of stucking in Edge on ipad and 3G started working perfectly. It's sad IOS 7.0.6 has bug and does not enable 3G on IPAD

Unable to manually manage music and videos on iPhone 4 without erase and sync, same computer!

Ok, so I know you all have heard this before but I do believe my case is rather unique, and quite frustrating.
I purchased an iPhone 4 and synced it to the same computer I am using now - created the playlist and used it to sync with phone. Worked great for awhile; but one day I contracted some nasty malware and had to wipe my computer and reinstall my OS (Windows 7). Albeit my music library was on my external HDD which survived the onslaught. I obviously had to reinstall iTunes afterwards. The playlist was gone on reinstall.
Afterwards I still didn't see an issue with my iPhone and iTunes: When I plug it in it syncs, everything seems to be working accordingly.
But I recently transferred some new music from a CD to my iTunes and wanted to throw those songs on my iPhone, the drag and drop method I was so very used to did not work and I noticed that "manually manage music and videos" was uncheck under my devices summary.
When I attempt to check this option in iTunes it gives me a popup notification telling me I need to erase and sync in order to use this option because my 'iPhone is synced with another library". Again, I DID have to reinstall iTunes after reinstalling my OS.
I have tried all the tricks that google could supply me with with no avail; authorizing, stopping the sync from automatically starting.... yada yada - none of these cookie cutter methods have worked for me.

Hmm, I will say after posting this and looking at the related threads it seems I can only either use manually manage or sync.
I was using sync before but since the playlist disappeared I was syncing with I simply want to add music to my phone without deleting everything. Is this possible?
If I use "manually manage music and videos" will it delete everything or just the music and videos? It doesn't specify...
Could I just create a new playlist and sync it with that? If so how?
The bottom line is it isn't that big of a deal if I need to simply rebuild my iPhone music library but losing my configuration, contacts etc is not an option. Optimally I would just like to be able to add my new music to my iPhone without having to rebuild my library.

How to swap Effects on a video processor?

I have written a JMF based program that plays a video and applies an effect (I have written) to it. The code works just fine, but now I want to add the ability to add or swap other effects. The problem is I can't figure out how to correctly do this, and can't find any examples to model. Here's some of the relevant code:

     If I change the line Codec codec[] = { new BorderEffect() };toCodec codec[] = { new ConvolveEffect() };it works fine with the new convolve. But so far I haven't been able to react to a user button click to change from one effect to the other.
First I tried to call processor.removeControllerListener() and processor.stop(), call a method to change the codec referenced just above and then call processor.addControllerListener(this) and processor.configure() all over again. This didn't work.
After a bit of reading I have think there are two other tactics:
*(1)* use a PluginManager and call addPlugin() or removePlugin() to enable / disable. I can't find any examples of using a PluginManager and some things aren't clear. Like - one you call addPlugin() do you still need the lines about new codec, setCodecChain() etc?
*(2)* chain processors together to add effects, remove a processor from the chain to remove effects. The DataOutput of a processor allows the output of one to be fed to the input of another.
I haven't been able to get any of these methods to work so far. Any ideas on what is the proper way to swap in/out effects?

After trying some more things I have my program working ... well working in that I can apply different effects, but I think it is a pretty ugly solution. Here is a representative code snippet:

Another custom method setCodec() is used to specify which codec to use, a ControllerListener is added and the new processor is configured.
This DOES work, but I am quite sure it isn't the best or most elegant way of doing things. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Unable to Add alternative text and tooltips to your images

Hello,
I am using Muse CC in Apple iMAC machine. The build version of Muse CC is 232.
Having watched the video, http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-adobe-muse-cc/using-titles-and-alt-text-to-images/, I am unable to bring up the image property window when I press the right hand click button of my Apple Mouse.
As such, I am unable to add alternative text and IMG Text to my images including the logo, facebook and Twitter Logos.
Can someone please tell me how to resolve my issue? How come I unable to bring up the image property when I press the right hand click on the mouse. The image property is also not shown in the menu of Muse CC.

Hello Maxplus,
Try doing CTRL+Click once to see if it works. Also, if an image is added as a fill, it doesn't bring up the Add alternative text and tooltips option, because then it is added as a background and not placed as an image.

I was able to add one arrow to my project by following Karsten's instructions. But, I am unable to add additional arrows into my project (separate clips). When I tried to add the 2nd arrow, the arrow doesn't show up on the screen, and then there is a pause created where I put the first arrow. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
