Unable to add music to playlists

Since downloading the latest iTunes software 10.4 (80), i am unable to add songs to existing playlists on itunes and my iphone 4. please help.

First of all make sure it is a regular playlist (note symbol) and not a smart playlist (gear symbol).  OK so far?
If that is not the problem, you may be encountering the intermittent bug that affects drag-n-drop into playlists.  The workaroud is to right-click the file, use "Add To Playlist" and pick the list you want.

  • Help! Unable to add music or change anything in iTunes

For some reason, I am unable to add music to my library. It also will not let me change/modify titles, artists, etc. It will work on my wifes account but not mine. We both have admin status.
I do not understand how this happened. We both have read/write permission. Any idea what is wrong?

had a similar issue about it "not responding properly" and i went back to apple and got a new superdrive put in and have had no problems since.

  • Add Music to Playlist

After a few minutes using the desktop version (Windows 8.1, 64) the drag music to playlist won't work anymore: I need to close the app and open again. Same if I select the music, and choose to add in some playlist. I tried with different playlists, and the behaviour is the same. Att, Marcelo Santos.

No. Every song is in the Library, and a playlist is a subset of the Library.

  • Unable to add music to my  iTunes.

I have music on my computer but I'm unable to add it to iTunes. I've tried clicking and dragging it in and I've tried File>Add to library and neither work. Anyone got any ideas?

I managed to dig up the CD's that the tracks came from and imported them directly from the CD's to the library. I still am not sure why transferring the files from my computer did not work, but at least I have the music on there now. Thanks so much for your help!

    hey there lindseyroyal!
I have an article for you that can help you troubleshoot the issues you are seeing in iTunes with Windows 8. The article is for Windows Vista and 7, but the steps still apply in Windows 8. That article can be found right here:

  • User account with sharing permissions to home iTunes library but I cannot add music to playlist created

I have created a new user account on my iMac and set up itunes which will allow me to see and play music from my "home" or main user's library.  I wanted to create a new playlist in the new user side however itunes is not allowing me to add music to this playlist.  I am getting the following message:
There was a problem downloading "Song Name".  You do not have enough access privileges for this operation.  Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again.
How can I correct this problem?

So I have been searching the iStore for Airplay and I find lots of information about what it is, but nothing about how much it costs, how/where to buy it, etc.?
Fortunately, AirPlay does not cost anything as it is a streaming protocol used by Apple. Currently, the AirPort Express and Apple TV are AirPlay-ready. A number of other companies, like JBL, iHome, Denon and Klipsch are also rumored to be working on AirPlay versions of their products.
Your other option would be to get an AirPort Express and connect it to your Onkyo analog or optical digital audio input and stream from iTunes that way. I currently do this with my 10+ year old Harmon Kardon HT receiver.

  • Problems with syncing - unable to add music to ipod

    hi
just got my ipod and tried to load 3.4gb of music to my 2gb ipod nano. Itunes said it was too big and and created a playlist based on my prefernces to fit and behann syncing to ipod. I did not want this and pulled the usb cable. I then deleted all playlists and created new ones to fit to my ipod. However when i now try to sync to ipod i get a message saying "songs on the ipod cannot be updated because all of the playlists selecting for syncing no longer exist" and there are no songs on my ipod. Can somebody please advise what to do???

OK, that is iTunes's way of telling you that the file is not compatible.
Try playing the file in another media player such as Windows Media Player to make sure it is a valid MP3.
If it doesn't play in any player, it needs to be replaced.
If it plays in WMP but not in iTunes, it probably has some minor corruption, and needs to be treated with a tag repair tool such as MPval.

  • Unable to add music from hard drive to iTunes

I have recently upgraded to iTunes 7.01 add for some reason my music was missing from the itunes library. I cannot add any of the files from the hard drive to the itunes library. They are all files that I have copied over from CD and there was no issues with them in itunes 6. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Unable to add music to friends iphone

I am trying to add some music to my friend's iphone from my pc....we plugged in his iphone and have been trying to change the setting to manually manage music but each time we check the box and click apply and then click cancel to keep from erasing his iphone the check mark goes away....this is the first time that i have ever notice this as i have always shared music with other friends and have gone thru the same process without any problems.....what gives?

Unlike your old iPods, the iPhone can only load data from one iTunes library. It doesn't matter if you sync or manually manage music. The music industry would prefer your friend buy his own copy of the music.
