Unable to alter leading is weird

I am unable to alter leading in any text in a document. I have trashed preferences and checked all settings. I can not adjust leading downwards but when I try above 12ponit it will adjust upwards. The weird thing is it works okay on the pasteboard.

I have solved it! I had align to grid set to 'all lines' in Para style.

Referring to your previous message when you said you'd converted via Acrobat and not Acrobat.com, I'm converting via Acrobat.com because that's the only option that is shown (how do I convert via Acrobat? - perhaps that would be more successful). I'm using the Export PDF website, and the OCR is enabled to "Recognize text in English UK". However, I've just tried converting a different LPA pdf form, this time for Health & Welfare https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/245571/LPA114_He alth_welfare_LPA.pdf and again I have the same problem as before. I've altered it from "Read only" and thought I'd then be able to enter text, but "Drawing Tools" is shown in the pane and I'm unable to enter anything onto the form - everything appears to be in images. Also, the lettering on the heading of' page 1 has become jumbled, with the word "Public" overlaying the word "Guardian." Any suggestions as to what it is I'm doing wrong would be welcome - I don't like to be beaten!

Unable to alter the process. Unable to execute action start and stop

I have setup a UCM CMS server on Linux. In the UCM instaance I setup If I go to Admin Server, the Genral configuration page contains no entry. While the file Config.cfg present in the directory Oracle/UCM/Server/Config/ contains all the entries I provided during the setup.
Now when I am trying to start/stop the UCM instance, it is giving me error " Request Failed : Unable to alter the process. Unable to execute action 'stop' on server 'EBIZ_UCM'." While If I try to restart the server using IdcServer present at the location Oracle/UCM/Server/bin/, it is getting started.
While clicking on the Component Manager, its giving error like :
" Unable to retrieve component data. Components.hda exists, but contains no data. ".
Please suggest.

I know this is an old thread, but I ran across this while having a similar problem. It turned out that I had started the admin server incorrectly (e.g. running /apps/oracle/ucm/server/admin/bin/IdcAdmin instead of /apps/oracle/ucm/server/admin/etc/idcadmin_start). Once I corrected that the problem went away.

Needed to add table owner name to <ucm>/config/config.cfg
DatabaseSchemaName=dbo
where dbo is the owner.

Alter leading of a range of text in a title?

I thought you were supposed to be able to do this.
How do you alter the leading of just two lines of text within a title text box without affecting the leading of all the other lines of text within the text box?
I can alter the kerning of a few lines of text w/o affecting the other lines of text, but I can't to this with leading.
Is this a bug? Is this not a feature? Am I doing something wrong?
I select a couple of lines of text and then adjust the leading by changing the leading number. By doing this, however, the leading of the entire text box changes.

So if I wanted to create 200 lines of rolling titles, I'd just create a super-long PSD file?
You are correct on creating a very vertical .PSD with your text. Let's just assume that you have an NTSC DV Project. In PS, choose Image New, and then the NTSC DV Preset (either 4:3, or 16:9) with guides. This will yield a 720 x 480 image. Reset your PS Colors to B/W. Go to Image>Canvas and move the marker to the top-center, then increase the vertical to no more than 4000 pixels and choose the black (should be "Background Color") Add/edit your text, as is required. I usually do the text in Word, or WordPerfect, just for SpellCheck, and Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V that into PS. If you have more pixels in the vertical, than you need, just Crop. Save_As a .PSD, to be Imported into PrPro as Footage, unless you have Layers, that you wish to animate independently - then choose Sequence. Once into the Project Panel, drag to the Timeline, and Keyframe Effect>Motion>Position. Done.
I would like to see Titler grow a bit more robust too, but live fine with it, so long as I have my other Adobe (and some non-Adobe) programs handy. To me, each is just a "tool" in the "toolbox." I have requested full Grouping, SpellCheck and more typography tools. OTOH, if any of these munged up Titler, I would resend my requests in a heartbeat. I look at Titler a bit like I do NotePad - OK for simple stuff, but for wordprocessing I go go WordPerfect. Just another tool.

I'm using a copy of Apex 2. against a 10.1.0 database on Windows XP. I had a corrupt UNDO tablespace which prevented me from being able to open the database until I added another datafile to it. However now when I try to access Apex, I get the login page fine, I enter the correct details and get

Looks OK now.
In fact there seem to have been two problems.
Firstly my marvel.conf had the line
PlsqlNLSLanguage ENGLISH_UNITED_KINGDOM.AL32UTF8
I changed this to
PlsqlNLSLanguage "ENGLISH_UNITED KINGDOM.AL32UTF8"
I created a brand new UNDO tablespace one, deleted the old one and I can get to my Apex work.

COEBR Unable to generate batch records - weird error!

Hey Experts,
I am trying to create Electronic Batch Records using COEBR. Unfortunately, I am getting a weird error. After a few batches get selected based on the selection criteria, when I click "Batch Record" I get the message "Unable to generate batch records". But when I reselect the same batch and click "Batch Record" again I get the following message: "Batch record(s) successfully generated". But actually no batch record gets created...SAP is lying to me!!!! The icing on the cake - no logs get created as well.
The "Batch record required" indicator is set both on the Material Master (Work Scheduling) and the Order-Type dependant parameters.
One more thing, I was able to generate one, just one Batch Record but thereafter the darn thing broke!!!
I am stumped, really need some help.

If you want to just create PDFs from FM via the command line, then using one of the available FM batch utilities might be an easier route.

Unable to alter character set from WE8MSWIN1252 to AL32UTF8

Hi,
I am trying to migrate some tables to my database.
On the source DB, the character set is AL32UTF8
On My database, the character set is WE8MSWIN1252.
When I tried to alter the character set, I get this error message:
ALTER DATABASE CHARACTER SET AL32UTF8
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-12712: new character set must be a superset of old character set

HELP... Unable to alter any parental control settings- I get an error message immediately and the lock goes back on.

Is there a fix to the parental control problem – in Mountain lion? I've been unable to change any control settings for months...should have kept the family PC...this IMAC is garbage at this point.

Although one would think that re-creating the index could fix this problem, that’s not the case. What sometimes works is restarting the computer or doing some cache-cleaning — don’t ask me why, and I don’t know how to fix the problem when that doesn’t work either.

Unable to alter Quality (window size) in QT 7.2?

Recent upgrade to Macbok Pro 2.4/QT7.2 and I find that when hooking up a firewire capture device the only resolution/size I can record at is (I believe) 640x480. Is there no way to alter this? I had a nice process/setup for mass-capturing/transcribing of videos and even just that change in window size has disturbed it>sure I can drag the window smaller etc but it's more moves and a step in the wrong direction workflow-wise. Thanks QTK, thing is, Good and Better settings give 640x480, Device Native simply says "Raw video and audio, large files". The default for Good and Better used to be half the size, 320x240. I just checked on my G5/QT7.1.6 and the Good and Better rates are indeed 320x240...so, I'm not sure if this is a Macbook Pro 2.4 thing or a QT 7.2 thing.

Unable to alter AP Invoice draft

While trying to add frieght/carriage to AP Invoice draft error come up as " tax code missing or out of date". The problem occures only for items. Tried in PL35 AND PL39 2007A.

Have you checked the dates on this tax code and checked perhaps that there's nothing funny in your posting periods setup? If you say that in the one db the configuration is exactly the same as the other one then it points to a data related issue in which case I would advise logging a call with SAP support.

Unable to alter /tmp directory during Weblogic 10.3.3 install

I am installing on a 64 bit Linux server and each time I run the following command I get the message 'No space left on device'. Doing a df -k on Unix gives me /tmp at 100% full. I tried to change the path for the /tmp but it has not worked.
Any ideas please?

6500a E1710n-z Printer (unable to alter print quality setting off of 300 dpi)

How can I change the print quality setting up or down. The preferences are locked on 300 dpi no matter what I change. Sometimes if I delete all drivers and reload the setting will come back at 600 dpi but again the settings are un-changable. I have tried for 2 weeks to get an answer and no one seems to know. Please help!

hmmmm...can you describe the software application you are using when printing, and attempting to change the print settings? Also, can you note which OS (Win7, etc) you are using?
Lastly, can you describe if this only happen with certain print jobs (text, etc) or all print jobs, and describe what you are printing?

it occured to me that this device may be relying on a media sensor to perform paper type/width detection.
Question: are you using specific/special paper (colored, pre-printed paper, or cheques) for your print job?
Quick test: If you are using special paper, try using a white, plain sheet of paper instead of the paper you using and let me know the results.

Large network utilization leads to weird things

Arch linux works fine for a couple of days of uptime as my desktop. After a few days (there's no set amount of time), I'll start a large file transfer over NFS to my NAS. In the middle of this transfer my connection will randomly die.
"ip addr" shows eth0 has lost its network address.
"dhcpcd eth0" fails to renew the address.
Manually setting the address to its original value does not restore connectivity.
Furthermore, when I try to "reboot" or "poweroff" the system, the command stalls and no services are shut down.
I'm at a bit of a loss on how to troubleshoot this issue.

In any case, Microsoft does not sell a version of Word or Excel that will run on an iPad. There are many apps that can read and edit such documents, however. Apple's own Pages and Numbers for iOS can do so, for instance.
