Unable to alter Quality (window size) in QT 7.2?

Recent upgrade to Macbok Pro 2.4/QT7.2 and I find that when hooking up a firewire capture device the only resolution/size I can record at is (I believe) 640x480. Is there no way to alter this? I had a nice process/setup for mass-capturing/transcribing of videos and even just that change in window size has disturbed it>sure I can drag the window smaller etc but it's more moves and a step in the wrong direction workflow-wise. Any ideas? Cheers

Thanks QTK, thing is, Good and Better settings give 640x480, Device Native simply says "Raw video and audio, large files". The default for Good and Better used to be half the size, 320x240. I just checked on my G5/QT7.1.6 and the Good and Better rates are indeed 320x240...so, I'm not sure if this is a Macbook Pro 2.4 thing or a QT 7.2 thing.

  • On a certain website the window size has become so huge I cannot use certain features and am unable to reduce the window size myself. It went huge as I was moving the cursor and I have been unable to ajust this. How do I alter screen size manually?

Sometimes when moving the cursor the window size on certain sites reduces or increases. This happens randomly and I am not able to make it happen to change the size of the screen to my choice. The window on a particular site is now so huge I am unable to use features on there as they do not come into view on my window at all. Please help me on how to control this feature or in other words how do I increase or decrease the window size manually.

  • Unable to contol LR window size

I have a dual monitor setup. Until recently I was able to move LR from my LCD (monitor 1) to my CRT (monitor 2) but now LR will not show the windows banner allowing me to move/resize it. I've tried several things and unfortunately LR just keeps resizing itself to the full window. LR will also not honor the windows ALT-ENTER key which is supposed to bring up the windows move/resize dialog. This may not be a LR problem but the auto-panels makes it impossible to do anything with the corner/edges of the window. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks. F was the answer. I didn't realize there was a full screen mode.

  • Unable to save a 'smallest size file' pdf from illustrator 5.5

We recently insalled Adobe Standard 5.5
I often save PDF files from Illustrator using the built in PDF options available from the PDF drop down menu bar when saving files. Usually I will save a visual as a 'smallest file size' or make use of the 'high quality print' option for other files etc.
Why cant I do this on CS5.5?
In addition, the colour is not acurate at all!
    Please help

Hi Scott - I found the following thread on the net. So I had a look on my time machine back-ups and copied the files from there, which I then pasted into my Settings folder as you suggested.
    Ta da!! All working again!
Any idea how I could restore these settings from a backup?
    Thanks!
The PDF presets reside in Root/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PDF/Settings/
After I had installed 10.6.5, 6 preset files were removed from the Settings folder. The folder tree itself remained, it was just that some of the contents of "Settings" were deleted. I have fixed the problem by copying the deleted settings files from a backup.
These are the files which were deleted:
    Smallest File Size.joboptions
    Press Quality.joboptions
    PDFX4 2008.joboptions
    PDFX3 2002.joboptions
    PDFX1 2001.joboptions
    High Quality Print.joboptions
    These files were not deleted:
    Standard.joboptions
    PDFA1b 2005 RGB.joboptions
    PDFA1b 2005 CMYK.joboptions
    Oversized Pages.joboptions
Somebody at Adobe community support for Indesign directed me to restore these files from a backup, which solved the problem.

  • Quicktime Plugin crashes and Window size not correct when running a course from an LMS (Coursemill)

I am trying to run a course from an LMS (Coursemill) and a couple issues are occurring.
First, the quicktime plugin crashes, therefore the mp3 sound of the course does not play. When I reload the page, I get an "Unable to find API adapter" error message and the page won't load.
Also, the predetermined window size does not work properly and I end up with vertical and horizontal scroll bars which I do not want.
These issues are of high importance and need a solution ASAP. Please contact me.

If you haven't already visited the using QuickTime Plugin with Firefox KB article, I would recommend you first start there. If your problem still persists & no solution is found after referencing it just reply back to this response & we will go another route.

  • LabVIEW 2010 Window Size/Panel Size Run-Time VI properties - unexpected behavior

I have used the VI Properties Windows Run-Time Position - Panel Size and VI Properties - Window Size to set the desired display size for use on the application PC.
A strange thing happens, when I first open the application window, it is smaller than the specified Window Size and Panel Size (both set to 1064 x 728).  However, if I click on a horizontal border the window's vertical size snaps instantly to the 728 pixel value and the horizontal size in unchanged, still smaller than the 1064 value specified.  When I click on a vertical border, the horizontal size changes to the specified value.
I don't believe this is how these properties were intended to work.  They should open the application in a window sized as specified.
Is this a known problem?  Is there a workaround.

I regret that I cannot post my employers' proprietary code.  I have tried to duplicate the problem with a publicly distributed VI and been unable to do so.
I believe now that it is possible my VI was "straddling" two monitors when I made the initial changes.
Later compilations were made using different VI properties and do not show this problem.
I have attached a file showing the relevant VI property settings used in the aberrant VI compilation.

  • What controls whether embedded images scale to email window size?

When I create a new Mail.app msg and insert or drag/drop an image inline, it visually scales to fit the size of my msg window, which is about 60% of my screen width. (I'm not talking about altering the physical size of the image)
However, when I look at the msg from the sent folder or from a copy sent to myself, it appears fullsize, and this causes the msg text to now have a line length equal to the width of the embedded image. So now I have to scroll sideways to read the msg/view the image, or open the note to the size of the image, which I don't want to do. I want the computer to adapt to me, not the other way around.
I'm pretty sure that this used to function as I desire. To further rub it in, I got a msg from a relative today, sent from his peecee using DarkSideSoftware, and those images scale to my msg size. What's the deal?
    iMac G5 2GHz Mac OS X (10.4.8)

hi, in prefs, Composing: Message Format: Rich Text
The only contextual menu choices are Download Image and Copy Image. However, if I check an image that scales properly in the email I mentioned, the resulting menu includes:
    Open Attachment
    Open With
    Save Attachment
    Save to Downloads Folder
    View as Icon
I also notice that 1 sec after hovering over the image in the "good" note, I get a popup for a few seconds indicating the image name, status, mime-type but hovering over the image in the other note produces no result.
I thought it might have something to do with send/recv via .mac (imap) VS the "good" note came via another of my pop accts, but testing shows the same results.
For grins, I blew the dust off Entourage 2004 and let it go get about 200 mail msgs, and the "good" note acts exactly the same, that is the images all scale to window size. The last note I sent via Mail with a 1920x1200 img and downloaded into Entourage displays inline --> smaller <-- than the note window size... It appears Entourage in general wants to scale to 50% of whatever the window size is moved to.
Ok, I took the "good" note which was scaling correctly and used Mail.app to fwd it to my .mac acct and when I download it with Mail.app the images no longer scale, but now show fullsize. Same note functions as before/correctly in Entourage.

  • Mouse gesture causes sudden increase in window size

I'm unsure where this question belongs, I have searched high and low but obviously have not struck the right combination of search terms. So if this is not the correct place please point me in the right direction.
I generally have the Safari app opened to almost fill the whole Mac screen and have 5 or 6 tabs opened ready to look at each on in some detail.
Sometime when searching the web with a few windows open, using Safari 5.1.4, Inadvertently my finger(s) brush the top of the Magic Mouse and the primary open window will zoom in [enlarge]. At least I think it is a light finger touch which causes this, unless it is a slight movement of the mouse itself. So what was visible, ordinarily normal, on a single web page is now extraordinarily expanded and only a small portion can fit and will appear on the web page. This happens when I go to attempt to drag the window up/down/sideways but I never get to that action. I have no keys pressed on the keyboard [Apple Bluetooth]. This anomaly does not increase the web page window size to fit the screen.
I have tried the CMD - (plus) keystrokes to no avail. Similarly the CNTL - scroll wheel will not bring the page back to correct [previous] size. The only solution is to CMD-W that page and reopen to normal size, in effect, start again.
I have no third party software on my Magic Mouse and I can not see any gesture to do this on the System Prefs for Mouse. I can not re-create this happening no matter what gesture I use on the Mouse and thus am unable to identfy the cause. The zoom happens so fast I can not tell where my fingers were at the time. I can find nothing relevant in Sys Prefs>Universal Access>Mouse>Mouse Options. I have Sys Prefs>Universal Access>Seeing>OFF checked. AFAIK I have no third party apps on my iMac which have any bearing on zoom. I have googled but as usual google results depend on the search terms which I seem not to be able to accurately describe.
    24in iMac 8,1 6GB RAM, OS X 10.7.3.
    I would appreciate any advice.

What you describe sounds like the Smart Zoom gesture for the mouse - a gentle single-finger double-tap on the mouse will zoom the contents of a Safari window. Repeat the gesture to bring it back to normal.
This can be disabled in System Preferences > Mouse > Point & Click by unchecking the Smart Zoom item.

  • Window sizes settings have somehow changed and my windows do not open in the correct size anymore. How do I get my original window sizes to come back PERMANENTLY?

After upgrading to FF 10.0, my window sizes are not correct. I use a web-based invoicing system and my invoice windows used to open to the size of the invoice. Now, it opens invoices in full screen. I need the invoice windows to open the way the site tells them to open. How do I make that happen again and never change after that?

Safe mode disables the installed '''Extensions''', themes ('''Appearance''') and '''Plugins''' in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons'''. So it could be that an extension is causing it. You can try to isolate it starting with script blockers and similar extensions and '''Disable''' or '''Remove''' it.
Please also note that safe mode also disables hardware acceleration: '''Tools''' > '''Options''' > '''Advanced''' > '''General''': '''Use hardware acceleration when possible'''.

That's what APDivs do.  This is the single most common problem new people have with web page layouts.  DO NOT use positioning.  You don't need it.  Start over.  Learn to use CSS floats, margins and padding to align elements.

  • How to change the default window size display font size on Lync 2013 main window?

    Hi champs,
Just a simple non-technical question: How to change the default window size display font size on Lync 2013 main window on Windows 7 desktop?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Did you mean change the Lync: Change the Default Font and Color of Instant Messages just as Edwin said above?
If not, as I know, there is no natural way to change it.
If yes, on the latest version of Lync 2013 client, there is a new option “IM” on Lync client “Options” list. And you need to change the default Font and Color of IM in the interface of “IM”.

  • How  to change default window size?

I'm using MX 6.0 on Mac... For some reason I can't figure out
how to change the default window size in the work windows. Every
time I open a new file to work on it opens to a smaller size than
the actual page is. When opening pages dozens of times a day, it
gets annoying to have to resize each time. I'm sure it wasn't
always like this, but I can't figure out how to change it so the
default size that it opens to each time is larger.
    Thanks for any help,
    DD

Window | Workspace | Save Current
This gives you the opportunity to save a current layout look
    that you like
    You might also look under
    Edit |Preferences | Status bar - but I don't see that this
    does anything
    in DWCS3

  • How to change Default Finder Windows Size?

    Hi all:
New Finder windows show Macintosh HD and there is no problem in keeping the size or view options every time I open a new window (command + N).
I can change "New Finder windows show" to another folder and works just as well.
But when I open a folder in a new window (double click on an icon folder) the size of the window is very small and different from the window displayed by using command + N.
Finder saves and applies default view options to all windows without a problem, but not the default size or in other words:
default windows size is different from new finder windows size.
In Snow Leopard I could change default size of all windows holding down the Shift key while dragging and changing the size but in Mountain Lion it does not work.
I have also deleted all files .DS_Store but neither works.
I searched a lot but can not find a solution to this problem.
    Thanks.

As far as New Finder Windows (command+N) are concerned, there's no problem.
All other folder's Finder Windows I have not modified manually are displayed with the default size shown in the attached image. That is the window size that I want to modify.
    Thanks.
