Unable to attach pictures to texts
Torch 9800.
When I attach a picture to texts I get message "failed to send message".
Until recently was able to send without any problem.
Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Batt Pull Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
Good luck!

The camera icon is still present but it is a lighter shad of grey for only 2 of my contacts. The other contacts I can still attach photographs to. Don't know if accidentally changed settings for those users. I reset my network settings but that didn't work. Any ideas?
What happens when you click More next to Flickr in your last screen shot?

Hello,
After I upgraded my kernel to 2.6.25 on my laptop with an Atheros AR242x, which I use normally use MadWifi with, stopped working. I am unable to get any wifi0 or ath0 device to show up in ifconfig. The most descriptive error I could pull up was "MadWifi: unable to attach hardware: 'Hardware didn't respond as expected' (HAL status 3)" out of dmesg, which you can see below. It was suggested in the IRC channel I compile MadWifi from testing out of abs which I did but it didn't seem to change anything.

Thanks, I'll add it to my collection.
I expect you blacklisted ath5k, right? Better the devil you know and all that, but I would give ath5k a try sometime. It's in mainline, and will eventually replace madwifi altogether.
Yes I did, I eventually will have to go to ath5k but currently madwifi works without a problem so I see no real reason to move over at the moment. In other words, I'll let someone else be the beta tester on that project -
1. I am unable to attach pdfs today in Outlook/Hotmail email using my Firefox browser (27.0.1). I keep getting an error message that says, "The file is not a picture and can't be inserted inline." I do not understand why I keep getting this error message. I am not attempting to insert an image. I am selecting to Insert Files as Attachments from the drop down menu.
No matter how many times I attempt to attach various pdfs to my emails today using Firefox as my browser, I keep getting this same error message. I have cleared the cache, cleared all cookies, cleared all history, signed out of my Hotmail/Outlook account, signed back in, restarted computer, etc., to no avail. Same problem.
2. I switched to my Safari browser, and have no problem attaching pdfs in my Hotmail/Outlook email account. The pdfs are attaching perfectly as usual. My emails are being sent normally with the attachments. The attached pdfs are being received and are opening perfectly as intended.
3. Why am I unable to attach files with Firefox today? Firefox is my browser of choice and I have used it with my Hotmail/Outlook email account without any problems, till today. Please help me! Thank you!Thank you jscher2000. Yes my PDFs do contain the .pdf extension. I tried your excellent idea to utilize the drag and drop method, but I still get the same error message with PDFs. I have no problem attaching photos or Word documents with either method; just PDFs.
For further diagnostics, I started composing my email in Safari, attached all my pdfs and saved my email as a Draft. I then went to Firefox, opened the draft to continue working on it, and voila! There are all the pdfs I attached previously while in Safari. I was able to send the email with attachments through Firefox with no issues. The attachments went through and were able to be opened.
I am mystified, as Firefox has been trouble-free with my email account, and I have never had this particular issue till today. I made no changes to anything else on my computer, but I did notice very late last night that Outlook had one of those typical messages at the top of my Inbox to refresh my browser since Outlook had been updated. I refreshed and shut down for the night, and when I rebooted this morning that is when I discovered this brand new glitch with attachments. I'm assuming this has something to do their last update. -

Why am I having trouble sending pictures through text message?
Why am I unable to send a picture through text message? I have an iphone 4s. This never happened with my iphone4. I am about to switch and give my preteen my upgrade and take my old phone back. This was a waste of money. This is with both people who have Iphones and people who don't. (IM and regular text). I can randomly get one to go through, but it usually gets to about 90% and freezes. I can usually upload photos to Facebook. This is such an elementary function for a phone!!!!
1. you should contact your phone carrier as they handle all messaging.
2. Are you provisioned by your carrier for MMS?
3. if you are have you gone into settings to make sure that MMS is turned on. -
I got problems with the new ios6 in my 3gs. no picture via text message
recently i download the new version ios6 to my 3gs. since then i cant send picture via text messages.
If you still can't send or receive MMS messages
To send and receive MMS messages on your iPhone, verify that your wireless carrier supports MMS2.
Ensure that MMS Messaging is turned on in Settings > Messages.
Verify that your phone is able to access cellular data.
Some carriers allow you to edit your APN (Access Point Name), which may prevent MMS from working.
If you are roaming outside your calling area, make sure you have Data Roaming turned on in Settings > General > Cellular to send or receive MMS content.
While on a phone call, you will be unable to send or receive MMS messages when using an EDGE, GPRS, or any CDMA cellular data network. After the phone call ends, you will receive any incoming messages. If you tried to send an MMS message, you may need to send it again.
If the issue persists and your wireless carrier has confirmed that your wireless account is provisioned2 for MMS, restore the iPhone.

Unable to attach photo in iPhoto library using gmail in Safari
I am unable to attach a photo that is in the iphoto library when I am sending an email from my gmail account in Safari. The way it should work is to go to Compose new emai, then click on attach file which opens a window to navigate to the photos folder. Inside that folder is a iphoto library which has the photo I want to send. It is not possible to open the library and choose the photo! Instead it tries to attach the entire library! I have no problem attaching photos that are in folders in the photos folder.
I know Ican open the photos folder and find the picture and drag it to the message. What I want to do is be able to use the attach file dialogue window. Thanks!!!From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click Details then remove all Google related data.
Same for Jimdo.
Then press Command + Option + E to empty the Safari cache.
Quit and relaunch Safari then try Gmail or Jimdo.
If that didn't help ..
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari. Try Gmail to test. -
After the recent update, my documents moved from Finder to Word. When I moved the folders to Finder, I am unable to attach a file to an e-mail. Any Suggestions?
Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste (command-V) into the text box that opens, then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
I've seen an unconfirmed report that the "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you might need to remove it as well, if applicable.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.
