Unable to back up contacts and messages..

Hi every one,
I am using Nokia N80 for past 2 months.. Few days back i wanted to save my contact info and sms and other notes to my pc for updating my firmware.. When i tried the back up option from nokia pcsuite,it showed error in backing up contact info, messages and all.. It copied few files like user files from gallery.. But not copying crucial informations like contacts!
When i viewed the report,it simply said couldn't back up.. Try restarting the phone! I did that some 10 times and tried.. It still didnt work!
Please suggest me some steps and help me to save the info from mobile and update my firmware! Please do help me!

To have messages contacts and other stuff synch you need to have the phone install the Synch application from PC Suite.
Use the Get Connected button to connect to the Phone. This is different that just connecting it without the getting connected button. When you use the Get connected it will check to see if you have messaging support installed in your phone, follow the instructions on screen and accept the installation on the phone.
Now use the back-up feature in PC Suite.
640K Should be enough for everybody

  • HT1766 Please help!  I updated myiPhone 4S today and it deleted all my contacts and text messages.  I backed it up before the update and got all my pics out, but the phone did a new backup with blank version.  How do I get my contacts and messages back?

Restoring my iPhone4 from a 3GS backup doen not bring contacts and messages along. Anyone know of a fix

Hello!  I've seen a lot of threads about restoring via iTunes but haven't found my particular situation yet.  So hopefully someone can give me some insight into my predicament.  I updated my iPhone 4S with io7 and my wifi broke.  So I got a new iPhone 4S with ios6 loaded on it.  I want to keep ios6 until Apple can figure out how to fix the wifi/bluetooth chip running hot.  I backed up my phone right before I swapped to the new 4S.  But when I try to restore from backup it won't let me because the backup I did was with ios7 and it wants me to upgrade my ios6 to ios7.  Obviously I don't want to do that only to have my new phone break again.
Options I see is pay for some 3rd party software that can restore my contacts, texts, etc. Upgrade to ios7 and pray it doesn't break again.  Get a new phone.
But I don't like any of those options.  I want to keep ios6 until they make me upgrade it.
    Anyone have any ideas???
    Apreciate the help in advance.

  • Sync Contacts and Messages

    Hi all,
I have problem. I have a new PC and data on the iphone that i dont wanna lose. This data is Contacts and SMSes. Videos Pictures and other thing I dont care.
And this is not the real problem. The real problem is that my phone is broken and when i speak i dont hear, nnd I will send the phone to Service. But before that i want to save Contacts and Messages to iTunes.
    1. Can I copy my contacts on sim card somehow( because I want to use contacts on other phone in the time my iPhone is in the Service )?
    2. Can I backup my Messages in itunes, and when my phone is back to sync them back?
Please answer me on this 2 things.
    Thank you in advance.

Just keep in mind that using the device as you are runs the risks of losing all contacts.
If the device is ever lost, stolen, or simply fails, without having contacts synced to a supported app or a cloud service will result in losing the contacts.
Outlook is not the only supported app.  This article explains the supported apps and provides links to how to set up syncing.

  • Ive lost all contacts and messages after updating to ios5 ??? Help

Ive lost all my Contacts and messages after updating to ios5 ??? Help
How can I get them all Back ???

Have had the same issue - and conflicts between PC, Ipad and Iphone.  Gained 6000 names and lost contacts or contact contents.  Have had to edit on PC.  Spoke with Apple Express and was advised to do editing only on PC and then sync.  Was also told not to use Icloud until problems had been solved.  Have spent last two weeks recreating my contacts list.
Haven't yet bothered to reclaim my missing paid ring tones.

  • On iPhone4, can i restore only contacts and messages from my backup after restoring to factory defaults

    Hi,
I have a iPhone4 and backed it up before reset to factory defaults. Now, I want to restore only contacts and messages stored in my backup.
Can someone let me know whether this is possible?
If yes, please help me with steps to restore only contacts and messages.
    Thanks!

The restore from backup process is all or nothing, there is no selective restore process.

  • HOW TO TRANSFER CONTACTS AND MESSAGES FROM 3G TO 3GS

I BOUGHT NEW 3GS 2012 MODEL 8GB , AND WANT TO TRANSFER MY CONTACTS AND MESSAGES FROM MY OLD 3G 8GB TO NEW 3GS.
OLD 3G IS NOT SUPPORTING TO I CLOUD. HOW CAN I GET ALL MY CONTACTS AND MESSAGES IN NEW 3GS?
    THANKS IN ADVANCE

Can you try first backing up your 3G with iTunes (I guess synching also does this) and then restoring your new 3GS using this backup.
Note that this might delete all other data you have in your new 3GS (if any) and replace it with the data you have in 3G. This might also lower the version of your OS in your 3GS, however you should be easily update the OS if restore becomes successful.

If you have backed up your iPhone before the jailbreaking, then you can recover contacts and text messages by restoring your iPhone with the iTunes or iCloud backup file. Hi there - I would be grateful if someone could help me . I need to transfer my contacts and messages from my iPhone 4 to iPhone 5…
Is there an easy way of doing this
    Manu thanks

Do you have a old backup of your device data? Or is there any way to power up your device and have a backup of your device data? If any of this is possible then you can get the data transferred to your new device.

can I share music and photos but not contacts and messages between devices.  Each of my children have devices and they want to share some stuff but not others

Sorted it myself thanks. Had to completely wipe iPhone and set it up as a fresh phone.

  • HT4623 Why on earth don't you tell people to back up contacts and photos before they update software? There was no mention of the need to back up until it was too late. I have lost hundreds of valuable phone numbers and photographs.

The update process DOES back up contacts and photos, unless you interrupted the backup. The manual tells you to sync contacts to an app on your computer, and to import photos regularly to your computer. So Apple DID tell you to back up, you just didn't bother to read it.
If you didn't sync yet (and even if you did) connect the phone to your computer, right click on its name, and choose "Restore from Backup". If there's more than one backup choose the one with a timestamp before you updated.
