Unable to backup to iCloud automatically or manually

I've received notice that my iPhone has not backed up to iCloud since the 1st of the year. I've disabled all of the apps in iCloud, then deleted the last iCloud backup. I have tried automatically resetting as well as manually via computer connection as well. Please help!

  • IPhone 5 unable to Backup in iCloud

I have the iPhone 5 and I seem to be unable to back it up into the iCloud. Backup on my iPad 2 to the iCloud works perfectly. Can anyone help me find the solution to my problem.
    As additional information:
    a) I am running iTunes on a Windows 7 PC
    b) My internet connection isn't very fast, but my iPad manages to backup to the iCloud overnight. My iPhone always shows that it has never backed up to iCloud, no matter what I've tried.
    c) My old iPhone 3GS used to backup to the cloud without any problems.
I would be very grateful for any assistance. Thank you.
    Thorsten.

    Hi thoudy75,
The best advice I can offer is this article of troubleshooting ideas for iCloud backup issues:

    I hope this helps!

  • JEE - Unable to discover Websphere 8, automatically or manually

I am setting up a proof of concept for SCOM 2012 R2, and am attempting to monitor an instance of Websphere 8 running on AIX 6.1.  I am using the latest version of the JEE management pack (7.3.2135.0), which according the the MP guide, supports Websphere
    8.
I confirmed with the Websphere administrator/developer the url/port number of the application, that HTTPS is not required (but is available), and that authentication is not required.
After waiting several days beyond deploying the agent to the AIX server, the Websphere 8 application server never was discovered for basic monitoring.
I attempted the manual deployment method referenced in the README for the JEE MP.  I had the Websphere admin deploy the BeanSpy ear, and I was able to successfully test using the web browser with the expected results returned in XML format.  Then
I searched and found the powershell scripts and copied them to a location, and added the URL to a text file.
    When I ran the command
    type .\list.txt | .\NewJEEAppServer.ps1 -ManagementServer scom.domain.com,
    I got the error:
Unable to determine the application server type and version : http://websphere.domain.com:9080
I didn't get the "WebClient call failed to server..." error, so I know the script was able to connect to the server.  When I specified the parameters -JEEAppServerType WebSphere -JEEAppServerVersion 8, I got the same error.  That is when
I noticed the -help file for the script mentions support for versions 6 and 7, but not 8.  I passed version 7, and got a successful result in the script.
Fast forward a while later, I see the Websphere server under "Deep Monitored Profiles" (with the green check beside it), but I do not see any applications.  I then found an error in the Operations Manager event channel:
Data item returned no information for parameter '$Data/Info/JEEServer/Properties/AppServerName$'
This usually indicates that the query is incorrect.
One or more workflows were affected by this.
    Workflow name: Microsoft.JEE.WebSphere.Monitored.Profile.Discovery
    Instance name: websphere.domain.com:9080:universal
    Instance ID: {BCD23F3A-0F10-072A-366F-79A520F953CD}
    Management group: Test_MG
I'm beginning to wonder whether WebSphere 8 monitoring even works at all, despite being listed as supported in the MP guide.  I have not found any references to other people setting monitoring for WebSphere 8 in SCOM.
Has anyone gotten this to work?  Something I might be missing?
    Thanks in advance

  • Unable to backup to iCloud

We're are using a family-style system with iCloud, so we all share photo stream and back up etc. My wifes's and my iPhones and iPads both are backing up fine to iCloud, but our daughter's (which are iPad 1s) fail each time I select that option under iCloud settings. Any ideas?

Sounds like you are doing this correctly but try here >  iOS: How to back up

  • ICloud automatic backup

I understand iCloud automatically backs up every 24 hours.  If that 24 interval happens to be in the middle of the night, will it back up then, or does it only analyze when the last backup was every time you plug in your phone and then wait until the next night?
    Thanks

This is the official statement (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5262):
    Backup overview
iCloud automatically backs up the most important data on your device using iOS 5 or later. Once you have enabled Backup on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in Settings > iCloud > Backup & Storage, it will run on a daily basis as long as your device:
is connected to Internet over Wi-Fi
is connected to a power source
    has the screen locked
You can also back up manually whenever your device is connected to Internet over Wi-Fi by choosing Back Up Nowfrom Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.

  • Rescue & Recovery Unable to backup ....

    Hello,
I have used Rescue & Recovery for many years and love it. It has save me multiple times.
I recently installed Google Desktop. There are about a dozen Google Desktop files that R&R says it is unable to backup. I have to manually say "skip" to get the backup to complete successfully. This is a pain.
Q1) Is their a way to add these files to a R&R "exclude" list so R&R does not attempt to back them up? I do not need them in my R&R backup, as they can easily be recreated.
Q2) Or alternately, is their an adjustment I can make to Google Desktop so that R&R will backup these Google Desktop files?
    Thank you for your assistance.

you can exclude files in R&R go to advance mode and at the top of that click on advance then exclude files

    Hello ZshanTChawdhry,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand you're having issues with backing up your iPhone to iCloud.  To troubleshoot an alert message received when trying to back up, please see the article below.

  • Cannot backup to iCloud for my iPhone. It tells me to leave it locked plugged in and connected to wifi but then says unable to complete. My iPad worked but not phone

When I try to backup to. Loud from iPhone it will not work. iPad worked fine. I says leave locked, plugged in and connected to wifi. Unable to back up this time. Or failed to complete. I have followed instructions. I have even taken lge amounts required to be stored off list to see if a smaller amou t would work but it hasn't made a difference. What am I doing wrong. iPad was easy.

I have the same problem and can't seem to find a solution anywhere in the support forums or online.
Last backup says, "Never" but 7gig of my 15g of storage is used up. Every time I try to manually start backup to iCloud, the progress bar never moves and I only get "estimating time remaining."
The phone appears to not be backing up automatically at all when my phone is plugged in, locked and on my wifi network.
Apple appears to be unaware or unconcerned with this problem. I'm concerned though. It looks like I'll have to drive an hour to a store to get any help with this problem. Is it seriously cheaper to have a live body in a store used up rather than online interactive support?
Any help with this backup problem would be appreciated.

  • When I try to use my iCloud backup it takes forever to backup and then sometimes it says unable to backup

When I try to use my iCloud backup it takes forever to backup and then sometimes it says unable to backup what do I do

If you get the error "Backup not successful" and you've tried deleting the last backup and trying to back up manually without luck, try the following test:   Go to...
Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>manage Storage, tap your device name in the Backups section, then look under Backup options.  Turn off all apps from backup and then do a manual backup.  If that doesn't work, then this post will not help.  If the backup works, then go back to the app list and turn some on and try another backup.  If successful, keep repeating these steps.  If it fails at some point, then try to zero in on the one app that seems to make the backup fail.  (I had this problem and found one app failing, probably due to a corrupt data file.)
This process will take time, but if a backup works with no app data being used but clearly fails with the original settings, then somewhere in the mix of apps is a "bad" one.

  • My iPhone will not automatically backup to iCloud after iOS7 install

My iPhone 5 will not automatically backup to icloud anymore now that iOS7 has been installed. Steps I have tried so far...
Installed iOS7 through Software Update - relazed three days later that the phone was not backing up
    Did a manual backup
    Erased the entire phone
    Restored from iCloud backup
    Then reset all phone settings
Signed out of iCloud, deleted all data and then signed back in
Is anyone else having this issue after updating to iOS7?

my dear friend i have like your problem before and when i see alot of solution i find the one it work with me and
    come autmatic again
    take the solution:
Note that a manual backup also factors into the automatic backup schedule, meaning the next automatic backup will not occur until  48 hours later.
Actually the iCloud backup process sounds a bit more complicated than it actually is in practical use. You can’t schedule iCloud backups manually, but you don’t need to do so as iOS takes care of this for you, and it’s designed to be pretty transparent.
Once enabled, iCloud backups will run automatically whenever the following conditions are met:
    Your device is powered on,
Your device is connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi,
Your device is connected to a power source,
Your device has the screen locked (i.e. turned off), and
It has been at least 24 hours since the last successful backup occurred.
In other words, your device may not be backed up to iCloud at the same time every day, but once 24 hours has elapsed the iPhone will make a backup as soon as it is plugged in and on Wi-Fi with the screen off. For example, if your iPhone backs up to iCloud at 10:00 pm tonight, but you don’t plug it in while on a Wi-Fi connection until midnight tomorrow night, the next backup will occur at midnight—basically as soon as you plug it in—and future backups will continue to run at midnight on subsequent days as long as the iPhone is plugged in, connected to Wi-Fi, and has the screen off at that time. If you’re working an irregular schedule and coming home at different hours, this may gradually push the backups to later at night, but the backup won’t be skipped if you miss the time window—it will still occur as soon as possible once all of the other conditions are met.
This does of course mean that sometimes backups can get pushed to the point where they may be delayed until the next night; come home at 10 a.m. on a Sunday morning and plug in your iPhone and that’s when your next backup will occur, but if you leave for work on Monday morning at 9:00 am and your phone isn’t plugged in and on Wi-Fi while at work, you won’t get another automatic backup until you get home and plug it in later that night.
You can check the time of the last successful iCloud backup by going into the Settings app on your iPhone and choosing Storage & Backup from the iCloud section.
You can also tap the “Back Up Now” button from this screen to create a manual iCloud backup at any time. To create a manual iCloud backup, your iPhone only needs to be on Wi-Fi, it does not need to be plugged in or have the screen off.
Note that a manual backup also factors into the automatic backup schedule, meaning the next automatic backup will not occur until  48 hours later.
This can be one method for adjusting to a specific backup time if you really feel the need to, but it’s largely unnecessary as iOS should naturally settle into a standard backup routine as long as your iPhone is regularly plugged in and on Wi-Fi for at least a few hours each day, such as while you’re sleeping.
As one last note, it’s also worth keeping in mind that the iPhone only needs to be connected to power with the screen off to start an iCloud backup; once the automatic backup has started, it will continue as long as the iPhone remains on a Wi-Fi connection, even if you unplug the iPhone or begin using it.

Within this commonfiles\apple folder, there is only one folder, labeled "Internet Services." Within this folder, there are 6 folders, labeled:
    APLZOD.resources
    BookmarkDAV_client.resources
    CoreDAV.resources
    iCloud.resources
    iCloudServices.resources
    ShellStreams.resources
Within all but CoreDAV and BookmarkDAV_client, there are multiple different folders, all labeled starting with a two letter (acronym I believe, for different languages) then .lproj (for example, a folder is labeled "ar.lproj".
In each of the folders of APLZOD.resources, there is a file labeled "APLZODlocalized.dll."
In all of the folders containing the multiple .lproj folders, there are likewise "name"localized.dll files contained.
In the BookmarkDAV_client and Core DAV folders, they each contain only one file, "Info.plist"
I attempted to delete all of these files, and still, the FileAssassin could not delete them. I unlocked one of them for instance, and I tried to delete the file myself (thru windows explorer and just clicking delete), and I still had the same issue of coming eventually to the window requesting me to "try again" to have permission.
What can I do?? I'd like to avoid Unlocker, but if it really is a reliable and SAFE program, and someone knows a SAFE place to download it from, I'd appreciate it very much so!!
    thanks!!

  • I created an iCloud account and also had to get more space after I have done the purchase, I am unable to backup my phone! I have a stable wifi connection at home and all I see for hours and hours is "Backing Up .. Estimating time remaining"!!!!! Plz help

I created an iCloud account and also had to get more space so after I have made the purchase, I am unable to backup my phone! I have a stable wifi connection at home and all I see for hours and hours is "Backing Up .. Estimating time remaining"!!!!! Plz help I'm unable to make the backup as I need to transfer all my data on my new iPhone 5S

This may be caused by a corrupt existing backup that needs to be deleted, or by data on your device that is causing the backup to fail.  To troubleshoot these, try deleting your last iCloud backup (if you have one) by turning off iCloud Backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, then tap Manage Storage, tap your device under Backups, then tap Delete Backup.  Then go back and turn iCloud Backup back on and try backing up again.
If it still won't back up, you may have an app or something in your camera roll that is causing the backup to fail.  To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again.  If the backup is successful, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is causing the backup to fail and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails.  Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.
In the meantime you can back up your phone to your computer by connect it, opening iTunes and going to File>Devices>Back Up.  Also be sure to transfer your purchases (File>Devices>Transfer Purchases).  Then set up your new phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iTunes Backup and follow the prompts to restore this backup to your new phone.  This will be much faster than using iCloud anyway.

  • Does manual backup to icloud occur over 3G cellular connection?

Does manual backup to icloud occur over 3G cellular connection?

Oh, duh...my bad.  It says that photostream syncs when it gets back to your wifi.  So it does not use 3G to upload new pictures.  Thx for the direction to the answer?
I am surprised that this info isn't more prominent in the ICloud support documents...
    Thx again,
