Unable to boot Z10, stuck on loading screen at 99% after a few hours.

Hi, I am unable to boot Z10, stuck on loading screen at 99% after a few hours. I did not try to update, nor load any other OS versions.  Running a Bell Canada 10.1.  Tried to pull battery, leave phone boot for 5 hours, still stuck on 99%.  I tried plugging it in BB Link and computer will not recognize it.

Every option Im seeing is telling me Im going to lose my data... is this true? I know with other phones ppl are able to mount the device as if it were a hard drive and pull content from it... is this not possible with the Z10? Thanks...

What operating system version, and do you have any backups of your data off the machine? TimeMachine? Option Key bootable clones? Storage? DVD's?
A reinstall of the operating system may be in order as a last resort, so if any of these steps on these links get you into the machine, make sure to backup your personal data (Music, Pictures, Documents, Movies) off the machine to a non-encrypted  powered external drive regular storage drive (not TimeMachine as it might be corrupted too) and disconnect as soon as possible.
Good Luck and report back all what you tried.
Also report what change occured before this tragedy happened, was there a  Software Update? A EFI firmware update? Etc.

To boot off the 10.6 install disk, hold c or option key while the disk is in the machine.
To boot into 10.7 Recvoery mode, hold the command and r keys down while booting.
To use Safe mode, hold down the Shift Key while booting.

Did you try to see if you plug it into the computer, if your BB Link recognizes the phone?
@mangtomas Can you please answer Leslie's question... we can't help if you don't follow up.

  • Help! My Tour won't boot, gets stuck on loading screen.

Earlier today, while my tour was charging it randomly rebooted itself, but it wouldn't boot all the way - the load screen froze about 2/3 of the way through and then didn't do anything (for like 15 minutes) I did both a hard and soft reset, but the phone still won't boot past that point. Because it won't boot, I can't connect it to the computer to reinstall the OS or anything.

    Hi there,
Unfortunately it sounds like you might have what is called a bricked or "nuked" BlackBerry.  There are ways to fix this, but it can take a couple of extra steps.
Start off by downloading the OS from your carrier to your computer.  You can find your carrier's BlackBerry download site here: http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp.  Once you've downloaded the OS for your device, install it to your computer.
Next, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\Apploader and open the Loader.exe file (note: if you have a 32-bit OS, there will not be an (x86) after Program Files).  Click Next to go to the Communication Port Selection page.  Now here is where you need to watch carefully and be on the ball to ensure it works.
Take your battery out of the your BlackBerry and plug your device into your computer.  As soon as you see USB-PIN:UNKNOWN in the connection spot, click Next.  If you miss it, don't worry, just unplug the device and plug it back in again to start the boot cycle again.  Once you've made it to the next page, you should be good to go to reload the OS.  At this point in time, you can also reinsert the battery.
Then just follow the steps to reload the OS and you should be set.  As a warning though, if you have not recently backed up your device, there is a chance that you may lose the data on the device.
Good luck and let us know if you have any other questions.
If you want to thank someone for their comment, do so by clicking the Thumbs Up icon.
If your issue is resolved, don't forget to click the Solution button on the resolution!

  • Z10 stuck on loading screen says 100% wont go further

    HI all!
As stated my Z10 will switch on and then go through the normal loading bit it does with the BB logo in the middle, will get to 100% and not move on to the home screen.
The phone is about 15 months old, on vodafone, I'd recently done the latest update, it worked as normal for two weeks then this started.
    Any help?

Did you click on that link?
    BB10-0020
The device did not start up due to a non-functional or bad battery.
    What you can do:
Read troubleshooting tips for Error BB10-0020 from the Knowledge Base
Article ID: KB35096 BlackBerry 10 smartphone will not startup and displays an image with a link to www.bberror.com/bb10-0020
If I were you, I'd keep charging and try all the same again, KEEPING it connected to the wall outlet charger while removing and inserting the battery.

  • Macbook stuck on load screen, recovery mode unhelpful?

So my friend has a refurbished Macbook laptop running Lion that won't boot past the grey load screen with the spinning wheel. I've tried everything I can possibly think of to fix it and nothing has worked. I think that the hard drive might be going bad. These are the things I've tried that haven't worked:
    - I've tried resseting the PRAM, no difference.
    - I've tried booting into safe mode by holding shift, the logo flashes between an apple and question mark until you let go of shift, and then it tries to boot normally and fails to start as usual.
-I've tried entering single user mode to see where exactly the loading process is getting stuck. Here is a picture of where it stops (sorry for the bad quality)
The last 5 lines of code you see in the picture just repeat indefinitely until you shut off the laptop. It doesn't allow you to type on this screen (i.e., I can't use the fsck -fy command)
    - I was able to boot the laptop into recovery mode, but it booted into it VERY slowly. And it continued to be very slow the entire time I was in the recovery mode. I selected the option to re-install Lion, I got to the window where you choose the disk to re-install, and the disk that shows is the recovery partition.
I tried using the disk utitilty to re-format the main partition but the disk "failed to unmount". I also tried dividing the main partition into 2 separate ones to see if that would work and it failed again.
Please, any help would be greatly appreaciated.

Also, I tried using the fsck -fy command with the terminal that's available in the recovery mode, and it came back saying everything was normal.

  • IMac is stuck on loading screen

    Hello
My IMac (2009 i think), was working well, no problems at all. Tonight I started it and is stuck on loading screen. I have tried holding the Shift key and still doesnt stark. What can I do?
This morning it was working fine.
    Thanks!

Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, or are running 10.7+, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
    If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partitiion & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Permissions.
    Re-install if that doesn't work.

  • My computer is stuck on loading screen with logo and spiny thing

Hi my dads friend gave me his old iMac it was the computer and mouse no keyboard and it stuck on loading screen with logo and spinny thing he said it could be curruption in the software or chip out a few millimeters or something with the hard drive any help?? Please

I'm having some difficulty in understanding you.   What is mdnsresponder?   How can you edit files if you can't get past the blue screen?   What are you using to post these messages on the forum?
Let me suggest the following and see how you go.
Do you get the ‘Orchestral’ start up tone when you power up?
    You might try this.
    Shut down the machine.
    Disconnect the power cable.
    Wait about 15 seconds
    Reconnect the power cable.
    Wait a few more seconds.
Press the power button to restart.
If there is no change ...
Try to start the system in Safe Mode.   You can do this by restarting the machine and holding down the shift key as soon as your hear the start up tone.
    More information on >>>      http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455
If the system boots in Safe Mode you could have a software issue and may need to reinstall the OS.    Which is why I asked if you have or can get the original DVD.

  • Pearl stuck on load screen 100%

Not sure why it even needed to reset. I just looked at it and it was on the load screen - bar loaded to 100%.
After half an hour nothing has changed, and the phone is unresponsive.
    I've tried a battery pull.
After looking on google I found this
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Bold/Stuck-on-start-up-screen/td-p/572603
Which tells you to reset the software through blackberry desktop manager,
    but...
The desktop manager won't connect to my phone and is stuck on connecting.
I've only had the phone for under 2 months!
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

  • HT1455 My iMac stucked at loading screen( Spinning gear )..

My iMac stucked at loading screen( Spinning gear ), i tried everything including reboot process while pressing shift key in keyboard but it is not responding, please help me with this. thanks in advance.

    You might try the following:
I would first reset the SMC:
Shut down and unplug the Mac.
Keep the Mac unplugged for at least fifteen seconds.
Plug the Mac back in and do not turn it back on for at least five seconds.
Press the power button to turn the Mac back on.
Then I would reset the PRAM by rebooting the iMac while simultaneously holding the Command-Option-P-R keys until the machine restarts a second time.
    Hope this helps

  • Macbook stuck at loading screen

    Hello,
I need help. My mac stuck on loading screen. I've tried everything, read different threads, nothing helped. Repaired in disk utility, it said OK. Tried to reinstall Mac OS, but after content is downloaded, computer restards to install it and stucks again. Tried hardware test, but it stucks when it's almost done. Did ar resets, repairs etc. Please help me!

If you've tried repairing the disk from the installation discs without success, you really need to try with something a little more robust. I'd suggest DiskWarrior. http://www.alsoft.com/DiskWarrior/index.html
If that's not an option for you, you can consider an Archive & Install which will preserve your User, settings, and files. Have a look here:
