Unable to bring up Adobe Elements in new Mac environment (OS X Yosemite10.10.3)

I have Adobe Elements 10 on my MacBook Pro & recently upgraded the plateform to OS X Yosemite (10.10.3). When I try to bring Elements up I get, Adobe Elements 10 Organizer (or Edit) quit unexpectedly." I also have Lightroom 4, but it comes up, although it seems to missing some pic files. I'm not computer savey enough to know what the issue is. I'm wondering if they will not work in the 10.10.3 environment.? If not, what do I need to upgrade to?

Version 10 should work just fine, but it's very, very important to delete old PSE prefs when you do an OS X upgrade:

Unable to open indesign after migration to new mac all other programs open and work. Why? Running Yosemite 10.10.1 Indesign CS5

The keyword is "migration." Migrating or copying files for Adobe applications usually does not work. Not all of the necessary subsidiary files are copied to the right location.
You'll need to first clean up the mess with this tool:

Not necesarily. I've done it a few times.

I'm not sure you can download a PC copy of Acrobat 9 unless you operating from bootcamp or other such application and running the PC partition.
    Yes. You can.
I've learned something. New. This must be recently changed. That last time I clicked on a Link I though was a dmg file and turned out it was and exe file my Macs wouldn't allow me to do so. But haven't tried recently everytime and exe file comes up I cancel. I gues I am used to the time everytime a Virus or some other nasty was downloaded it was packaged in and exe file and Macs owuldn't allow it. I suppose with the INtel guts now they can no longer refuse to download.

You cannot move or copy software between computers. You must reinstall. You will need the serial number. Check your account details on Adobe's site if you registered.

Go to your username>library>preferences and delete anything you find called Adobe Camera Raw <version number> prefs. To see the user library, click the Go menu in the Finder and hold down the Option key and it will appear below the little house for your user account.

How does your "chat" work? Is there a button for Chat?

    Download
    Photoshop Elements 10 – Mac (2.0 GB)
    Premiere Elements 10 – Mac (1.8 GB)
Click on the Chat Button on the Chat Support(http://www.adobe.com/support/download-install/supportinfo/)
You will then have the option to chat with a support representative or call support using the phone numbers listed.

  • I have used Adobe Photoshop for some time and want to continue with it. Would I be wise to uninstall iphoto before installing adobe on my new Mac?

I have loaded about 100 pictures into iPhoto on my new Mac (old PC user) but now am certain that I want to continue with Adobe Photoshop which I have used for quite some time. Should I uninstall iPhoto completely as well as removing the IPhoto Library? Please tell me how best to proceed so as to avoid conflicts.
    Thanks,
    Jerry

I currently have Elements 9, but as I said I am a complete novice on the Mac.
When I bought the Mac, I had all of my photos already on an external hd for securitiy purposes, and have since moved them onto the Mac hard drive. I have not yet imported them into iPhoto, although, as I mentioned above I have loaded some pix into iPhoto from a camera just to see how it works. Also I have not yet installed Elements 9 on the Mac.
If I use IPhoto as the program to upload from the camera, do the photos go directly into iPhoto Library?
Does the library function the same as my storing them in My Pictures/My Documents, etc on a pc? Can I move pictures about within the iPhoto Library?
What is the advantage of using both programs simultaneously? If, as TeenTitan mentions above, I could put iPhoto back into the applications folder and not use it at all, and then use Elements 9 as the total package, what features, etc., would I lose?
If I choose to move iPhoto into the app folder, is it a simple matter or dragging it back? If not, how should I do it?
Thanks for your patience. I just want to get off to a clean start with my pictures.

  • Move Elements to new Mac

I have Photoshop Elements 11 on my PC, but now I have baught me a new iMac. How do I move the program to the new Mac?

This is the Photoshop forum not elements. Most likely you need to contact adobe to buy a change platform to get the a key for the media to change platforms. Element 12 is current I don't know if Adobe supports back level platform changing I have never changed platforms.

  • Reinstall Adobe Cs6 onto new Mac

Hello!  I am wanting to download my Adobe CS6 Design Standard to my new Mac computer.  I uninstalled it from my old Mac and am not sure now how to reinstall on my new one.  I thought I went through the proper uninstallation process for my old one (clicked Uninstall and it took about 10 minutes to uninstall all of the programs) - but I'm signed into My Adobe account and can not find any options to download or install.
    Any help would be appreciated!!

you can download and install the trial:  http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/designstandard.html
activate a full copy with your serial number.
hopefully, you deactivated your previous installation before uninstalling otherwise you may be at or beyond your 2 activation limit.

  • Unable to Install Photoshop & Premiere Elements 13 on MAC 10.9.5

Hello. I received Photoshop & Premiere Elements 13 for Christmas. It was purchased from Amazon (Amazon inc., not a third-party vendor). I have a MAC, running OS 10.9.5, which aligns with system requirements. I have been unable to install the software at all. One time I received a message that the software was not legitimately Adobe software. Otherwise, the disc is ejected automatically. Everything indicates it is Adobe software (serial number, packaging, etc.) Any ideas? Thank you, Melissa
    Correcting Title

Thanks. I downloaded Elements, and started to install, but can't get past the serial number screen.
There are several numbers on the back of the DVD box. I assumed the serial number was the long number above the bar code on the right - < removed > - but that doesn't fill the spaces and I don't get the 'NEXT' button.
The instructions say that the serial number will start with 1057 - so I tried added that to the beginning of the number above. Didn't work.
There is also a PN number on the back of the box, and a shorter number under a bar code on the left - < removed >
Can you tell me what I need to enter to install?
    I haven't downloaded Premiere yet...
    Thanks,
    Melissa

  • Error 16 message when transferring Photoshop Elements to new Mac. What am I doing wrong?

I am attempting to transfer my licensed copy of Elements to a new iMac. I've copied all the relevant files/folders from the old Applications folder to the new, and on trying to open the program on the new machine receive an Error 16 message (uninstall/reinstall). The original applications was a download, so I don't have an install disk. I'm obviously missing some files - any suggestions? Many thanks for any help!

Do as it says - reinstall it properly.

  • Adobe Elements 11 on Mac OSX 10.9 has crashed. What should I do?

I opened Elements 11 today and tried to open a photo from my file, and instead of opening it stops responding, I even have to force quit because all options are greyed out.
This has never happened before. What should I do?

This is the fix, I spoke to Apple re Mavericks and Adobe re PSE 11 and their is a known glitch and they are WORKING on it, so this helped me and it is so simple but annoying because it took hours on the phone to get to this. Good Luck!
    Open a Finder window.
From the View menu, select as Icons, as List, or as Columns.
Note: You can also use the keyboard shortcuts CMD+1, CMD+2, and CMD+3, respectively, in the Adobe application without using Finder.
Return to the Adobe application and use the Open or Save dialog box.
    To the top
    Additional information
The Open and Save dialog boxes of Adobe applications use Mac Finder to navigate through your file system. There are four views for displaying folder contents: icons, list, columns, and covers. As of the release of Mac OS 10.9, the Cover Flow view does not work with the Open and Save dialog boxes in Adobe applications. Adobe is working with Apple to have this issue fixed.

  • Adobe elements 10 and Mac OS x 10

So...I got the Photoshop Elements 10 discs for my Mac.  I put it in to install it, and it says I have to pick the application for it to open in.  I can't find instructions ANYWHERE, and so I'm stuck.  Is there a step-by-step instructional to tell me how to install this?  If not, can someone give me one?
