Unable to burn CD's using iTunes

When I insert a blank CD, iTunes recognizes the blank CD, and prompts me on how to burn a CD. When I select a playlist to burn, it tells me that "Disc burner or software not found" but I am able to rip CD's fine. When I ran the diagnostic tool, it failed and said "No audio CD found". This is the script it output for me.

  • I am unable to burn a playlist in iTunes 10

I try to burn a playlist from iTunes10 I keep getting a media read error and the disk appears to be half burned. I can create a burn folder on my desktop and burn the cd with no problems. This problem started two updates ago. I have tried using an external cd burner as well as the cd burner in my iMac, but get the same message. It only happens when trying to burn a cd in iTunes. Unfortunatly my car stereo will not play an mp3 disk, so I need to create the audio cd in iTunes

  • Can't burn cd's using iTunes 7.3 and 64-bit Windows Vista Ultimate

Every time I try to burn a CD I get the following error:
"Disc Burner or Software Not Found"
I have checked Device Manager and no problems with the disc burner there. I've even burned cd's from Windows Media Player(and dvd movies with other programs), but I would prefer using iTunes 7.3 to burn cd's. From reading the discussions it is my understanding that iTunes cd burning functionality doesn't work with 64-bit versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista. Is there a fix for this? Please advise.

Here's how to get Itunes to work in Vista and XP64 bit:
Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right Click on Command Prompt -> Run As Administrator.
    Type “cd C:\Windows\SysWOW64″
    Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll
If you don’t do Run as Administrator, the regsvr32 will fail. Also, be careful to run the command in SysWOW64, not System32! System32 on a 64-bit system actually contains the 64-bit system libraries.

  • How to burn a cd using itune on windows 7

I am so frustrated !!! I used to be able to burn cd's easily on my macbook, but now I have a macbook air which has no cd drive. I'm trying to use a windows laptop to burn one, using itunes and it will not work! I get the 'cancelling burn' message. At first it was 'error 4450'. After I updated to 11.1 now I'm getting 'error 4280'. I tried using windows media player and that failed as well. For itunes I tried updating, I adusted the burn speed as well. How can I succesfully proceed?

    Hi s_chuk,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  It sounds like there may be an issue with the disc burner in your computer since Windows Media Player fails as well.  I would see this article for more information:

  • Suddenly unable to upload mp3 files using iTunes Match

I've got a USB turntable and have enjoyed digitizing a lot of LPs and copying them into iTunes.  I digitized a 10-track album just yesterday, and can copy the resulting mp3 files into iTunes, where they play fine, but they won't upload to iCloud using iTunes Match. It gets to the point where it's supposed to upload tracks it cannot match and just sits there.  I use Audacity to digitize from the USB turntable, and it exports as MP3 file. This has worked over many albums but now seems to be stuck. Any thoughts on what the problem might be?

So my issue appears to be with uploading mp3 files that probably won't match anything in iCloud.
iTunes match matches Audio files by comparing the audio and not by comparing the tags for the album. My iTunes Library contains more than 500 songs that have been ripped and matched from vinyl records or audio tapes.
The songs will not match, if there is not the exact same recording in the store, but if the audo quality is good and the tempo of the player was exact, the song will be matched.

    Harry,
If you are getting the same problem with both iTunes and WMP, chances are that the issue is in your optical drive.

  • Since I updated to Mac OS x 10.6.8, I am unable to burn a CD on iTunes

Updated my Macbook to Snow Leopard a few months ago because it stopped getting all updates (thanks Apple). Since I've updated, my iTunes is currently on version 11.1.5 and it will no longer burn CDs. The CD loads and initialises the burning process but stops before anything is transferred. I've tried lowering the speed to 1x and every other speed above that and I'm still having the same problem. Please help!

  • Unable to backup iPhone 4 using iTunes 10.3.1.55

Can someone suggest how do I go about fixing this?

  • Unable to permanently delete songs using itunes.

i am getting the option of removing the song from the library but not from the HD. I hv also reset the bans in he advanced options.

I was having the same problem. Very frustrating. I couldn't send the file to the recycle bin when removing the song from the Library.
I figured out my problem. My music files weren't in the location specified in my preferences under Advanced. My assumtion was that if you can add a song to the library, you should have the access to delete the file from the hard drive. However, in layman's terms, if the music is not in the specified location in the preferences, iTunes does not have control over the file. It will only control wheather it is in the Library or not.
In summary, the music files must be in the same location specified in the preferences, Advanced section in order for iTunes to be able to send the file to the recycle bin.

If the songs you are burning are old ones that are FairPlay encoded or have some other DRM then that my be the reason you can no longer burn them.
    Here is a reference:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FairPlay
Note that "A particular playlist within iTunes containing a FairPlay-encrypted track can be copied to a CD only up to seven times (originally ten times) before the playlist must be changed".

    Hello Sonni,
It sounds like you are unable to burn a disc with iTunes due to this error code. I would first use the following article to check issues with the type of disc drive:
