Unable to buy songs - Error 5002

For the past 2 days I have been receiving Error 5002 "unknown problem with iTunes store, please try again later"...when I try to purchase/download songs...I've tried various songs too.
I'm not sure what the problem is..I have the most recent version and I had no problem downloading songs a couple days ago..this is out of the blue.
Any suggestions?

Yet another Starbucks person who also cannot purchase any songs whatsoever since downloading the free list. I've tried to get my one free song, but haven't been able to do that either. And now when I check to see if I can even plug in the redeem code for the one free song, it says it's already been used. Think if we complained to SBUX corporate about the downside to their "free" downloads something would get done? I emailed apple and have yet to hear back from them. This is getting rather frustrating not being able to purchase songs.

Keep getting error message when attempting to buy a song (Error 5002)

This error message seems to pop up with just this one song (says there is an issue with the iTunes store and that it is an unknown error) and it has not changed this status for a month now. I have the latest iTunes and there were no problems in updating/getting other songs from the store.
So what's up?

Unable to buy songs on after gift card redemption

I just redeemed to gift cards so have credit on my account but now cannot "buy" any songs. I click the "buy" button and nothing happens, I can download free things like podcasts but not purchase anything. There is no error message.
I have trolled the internet looking for a solution and found someone else having the exact same problem but no solution as yet.
In the past I initially only just gift cards to purchase with no problem then recently used a credit card for the first time until then I had no credit card loaded against my account. And have now gone back to using a couple of gift cards.
I have updated iTunes with latest updates which didn't help.
Any help much appreciated as I was hoping to download music for new years eve!!

I find it very misleading that the iTunes gift cards sold in Canada do not clearly state on the packaging that they cannot be used for game and app purchases. This is only listed on the terms and conditions on the website. Sorry, but I didn't think to carry the website with me to the store when I purchased the gift cards for my family members iTouches. Perhaps iTunes should not mislead the customer by stating "use your iTunes cards for music and more. . . . " Very very very disappointed.

Problem buying song: Error -9813

I have been using iTunes for a while but never purchased a song. Recently I have tried several times to buy a song and keep getting an Apple Store error 9813.
Has the iTunes store been having problems or is it something I am doing. I know my password is right since I was able to log into this forum.

Unable to download song/ Error in iTunes & App Store

Hi the iTune store is quite unstable ever since iOS 7.0, either upgrading individual Apps in App Store or download music from iTunes from my cloud.
I have perfect connection from time to time and bump in this problem often, it's not as frequent before iOS 7.0...
Stability is one of the main reason that I stick with iPhone the whole time, please someone take this seriously?

I've been getting this problem too, seems the album/song as noted is corrupted (I did stop it halfway into downloadign when I was in Spain and didn't have a ton of bandwidth). I just need to delete this error message.

Swipe the failing song horizontally to get the red Delete option, then delete.
So easy once you know, no?
Once that failed "in progress" download was deleted, I asked iTunes to re-download it and it went through just fine.

Unable to buy songs

i bought a new itunes card last night, put it on my account, and bought a few songs. now today, when i went to buy a song, it asked me for my password, so i typed it in, and clicked OK. it came up with this in red: *FieldName: null. java.lang.Exception: PermGen space*
so i thought, ok, i should change my password.
i tried typing my new password in again, and it said the same red message.
what is going on here?
please help!

This is likely a problem on Apple's server side.
In Java programming, there is a part of an application's memory whose size is determined at the time the Java VM is started, and which can fill up in certain situations. It seems that on the iTunes Store's server application, something responsible for validating purchases has run out of this memory, causing the "java.lang.Exception: PermGen space" message that is displayed to you.
I was having the same problem trying to check for purchased items so that I can watch the latest episode of the Venture Bros; quitting and relaunching iTunes seemed to get me in touch with a different Apple server or something, as it works now for me

HT203433 Unable to download song error on my iPhone 5

When I purchase a song directly from my iTunes app on my iPhone 5 I get this message and it fails to download I have tried rebooting the phone but it doesn't help. Does anyone else experience this and is there a fix?

I have the same issue, and reported it over 2 weeks ago, but if you read all the topics on this forum it is clear it is a widespread issue, and they don't know how to fix it.
Come on Apple, this is silly now, iPhone 5's are not cheap and too have no music at all is pretty bad! Even my 5 year old Nokia can do that!

We are experiencing this sudden error now too. Up until last night, we were accessing our Cart. But, then after adding one more song and deleting some from the cart, we got the error and cannot access the account from any machine. In addition to this one, we have a brand new iMAC "24, dual Intel; a PowerBook G4, and a Gateway Laptop running XP. None of the machines can access this Cart. Our other iTunes account is fine, without problem. But, this account's cart is inaccessible. I can find no solution.

February 2008: I am getting this error on two different PC's any time I try to view my Shopping Cart. Very frustrating!
I have been reading posts on this error 5002 bug all day and the only joy folks seem to have is letting Apple dump the contents of their Shopping Cart and start over. Furthermore, many emails back to users from Apple Support have suggested using a playlist Wishlist type deal as opposed to placing items in the shopping cart to be purchased later.
It seems to me that is the purpose of a shopping cart! I don't know, I guess I'm no genius!
The Wishlist referenced above does seem fine in hindsight, but I have been using Shopping Cart fine for over two years with no problems. Why the trouble now?
I'd love to make a Wishlist Playlist like Apple suggests, but I can't remember all the stuff that was in my Cart. And why didn't Apple reccommend a Wishlist as I was browsing?
Ultimately, I suspect that error code 5002 may infact be generic apple-speak for a number of bugs that creep up in various different scenarios while using iTunes store. References to that code number show up in posts from a year ago with a different instance/"fix"

I had the same problem. Although I did get 7.1 to work for a while and then suddenly all podcasts coming errored with 39. Also despite Windows recognising my iPod, itunes would never pick it up unless I went into service and manullay stopped and started the ipodservice.
Anyhow gone back to iTunes version 6. Will wait for iTunes 7.2 for one final try.....before giving up.

Error 5002, can't see the songs in my cart!

I chose to buy songs using a cart, but every time I try to open the page in itunes where the songs I chose should be listed, an error sign appears: it can't complete the request, unknown error (5002). I can't view the songs in my cart! What can I do?

Cannot download songs get error 5002. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I was able to download about 4 new songs today, but then started to get an error 5002 when trying to download a few more. Does anyone know why this happening and how to resolve? I've already shut down and restarted my phone, logged out of itunes and relogged in...neither solved the issue.

About that folder, I searched for it, but couldnt find it, is it inside the Itunes Producer packages?
