Unable to cancel pre-orders...

I have been trying for the last week to cancel a few PS4 games I pre-ordered.  I keep getting a "system unavailable, try again later" message, I would think if there was an error in the system it would be fixed after a full week but I still continue to be unable to process the cancellation.  I have cleared browser, logged out and back in, and obviously been trying again to no avail.  Hoping one of you fine CSR's will be able to help me resolve this and cancel all the games I have ordered.

First, I hope you’ve been enjoying your PS4! I’ve been a long time Sony fan as far as consoles go, and thus far the PS4 looks to be pretty stellar; I’m sure it’ll only get better. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues cancelling your preorders. It sounds like you’ve done your due diligence in determining if the issue was on your end, and I’ll happily assist where I can.
Depending on how you preordered the games will determine the best route for cancelling them. If you preordered the games in store, you would simply take your receipt back to the store for a refund on the preorder amount you put down. This will effectively cancel the preorder. If you preordered on BestBuy.com, and chose store pick-up as the fulfillment option, the preorder will automatically cancel itself after it arrives at the store and remains there for eight days. However, if you preordered online, and the games have not yet released, that would require some action on my part.
With that said, I’ve pulled up a list of recent orders using your email address on file for the forum. From what I can see, mostly all of the orders have shipped and invoiced. If you have any BestBuy.com preorders that still need attention, please send me a private message with the order numbers. To send me a private message, simply click the link in my signature.

    There is nothing to refund, you weren't charged when you pre-ordered it, you would only have been charged when it was released

    You've tried closing and re-opening iTunes and/or rebooted your computer and you have the latest version of iTunes installed ?

    Do it in-store. Even if the phone rep could cancel the pre-order, they could not refund the $50 gift card.

    This can happen if an song in a pre-order album is released before the full album is released.  Here is some more information regarding pre-orders. 
    Some pre-orders include songs that are available for download immediately. When you pre-order, you will be charged only for these songs and you will receive them immediately.

  • Cancelled pre-order and walked into AT&T and got phone

    Today, I cancelled my pre-order for my iPhone 4s 64gb AT&T black model.  I was then able to walk into an AT&T store and pick up the exact same model (5 days after the original shipment).
    The number one reason is because I do believe there is a lack of communication and openness about what is going.  I'm an silver reward member and spend a lot of money with best buy but stuff like this makes me want to reconsider where I send my money.
    IMHO, what I think happened is that they had a glitch or something on the 64gb model sku and didn't properly get their order in with Apple.  Which is why they didn't receive ANY.   It doesn't make any sense that AT&T has a surplus of the model and Best Buy had NONE in the exact same city.
    Based upon that, I think they are now going to have to wait for the "second round" of phone shipments and my guess that is 4-6 weeks out.
    I also don't buy they don't know when they will get them.  Actually, they do know (or can find out).  They can call Apple up and say when is my next shipment supposed to be in (just like I'm asking best buy).   Apple (or whoever is the ultimate supplier) would have to be able to supply Best Buy with the info they need to inform their customers.  That's why I think it's the more likely case that they screwed up their order with Apple on the 64gb models and didn't get it in properly (or on time).  Or worse yet, they aren't actively calling Apple up and asking for shipment dates and order dates.

    We are picking ours up from Apple today.  Ours were the 16g white and 32g black, #1 and #2 preorders for Verizon phones.  They supposedly got a shipment yesterday but we didn't get an email once they were scanned. They are not that rare. My guess is they didn't get any for Verizon (just like Sprint).
    I agree with the lack of communication.  I'd wait it our if they told the truth and even through in an extra set of earbuds or something.  Geez, we're silver members too (my husband wanted to get teh points from this sale). Oh well, ,hopefully they will learn from this experience.

    There was no lines at the verizon I went to either. I expected it to be horrible but they were dead slow. I asked the lady who waited on me about what was going on and she said they had 15 waiting on them this morning when they got there and after that it had been slow ever since. They appeared to have all their employees working and no one was doing anything except just kind of playing around they even had 2 standing at the door opening it for people it was so slow. They did not get the turn out they expected that's for sure. And I would be surprised if the stores sell out anytime soon. I know the one I was at (I got a 32 gig and 16 gig) and they said they still had plenty.

  • Cancel pre-order to buy in store?

    Right now, I have a pre-order for the iPhone 4 through apple that has a ship by date of July 14th. If one of my local stores gets a phone in stock before then, will I be able to cancel my pre-order and be eligible for upgrade in the store? OR, can I go in and buy it for the upgrade discount price without canceling the pre-order online, as not to loose my place if I don't get one in the store, then just cancel it online when I get home?

    I did just that this morning.
    Walked out of an AT&T store with an iPhone 4 in hand,
    got the early upgrade discount too.
    I then canceled the online order with the Apple store
    (also July 14 ship date) afterwards.
    No problems!
