Unable to change group text name or add person to some group texts in iOS 8

I really like the ability to change group text names as it helps me separate work group texts from personal especially when I have coworkers that have separate business phones. I'm unable to change the name of some group texts as the option is not there when I go into details. I'm also unable to add contact to the same group texts that I'm unable to change the name on. Is this a glitch or am I missing something?

If you are having issues with renaming and adding users to group texts, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device

I am unable to change the computer name.

I am unable to change the computer name of my MBP 9.1.
When I edit the computer's name in settings/sharing the name reverts to
the old name of Bill's MBP (2). I am attempting to delete the (2) portion of the name.

Look in Mail > Preferences > Composing tab > If you want all the email addresses to show, check "When sending to a group, show all member addresses". If unchecked, just the groupname should appear.
If it still doesn't work then review the email addresses for each of the group members looking for errors in format.
Also, clean up the list in previous recipients in Mail > Window > Previous Recipients.

Unable to resolve name in add user to security group screen

Hello Everybody,
Today I come to ask for advice from the FIM experts, it was just brought to my attention that when somebody tries to add a user to a security group by using the browse option they are able to search for the member and select them but when they
click on "Ok" the account isnt shown in the Members to add box. However if the person types in the full display name into the "members to add box" the user is successfully resolved.

After some intense research this issue is caused by an recent Microsoft update KB3008923. I have opened an microsoft support case after being informed of this issue. This is caused not by an FIM patch but by and internet explorer update. Please uninstall KB3008923
and your issue will be resolved. Or you can suggest to your users to use chrome with IE tab addon enabled as a walk around solution
I am awaiting microsoft to provide an hotfix for this issue but until then I have just instructed my users to do one of the listed tempory solutions above

Unable to change country's name

I have moved to India from UK, and was trying to purchase Photoshop from Adobe page. The payment details page asks for change of country, and to change it to any other apart from UK, I need to call a toll free number. But the number is coming invalid, and I am not able to find a proper email ID where I can ask the customer service. Please help anyone ! Thanks.

Text appears as scrabbled letters and some newspaper text is disappearing

There are two main websites that are giving me problems. Both are websites that I use every day and one is a Canadian newspaper. The problem is that the text has disappeared/been replaced by gibberish, just letters or numbers. I don't know if the the fact that I visit these sites frequently is part of the problem.
Has anyone else had this? I have never seen this problem before and I haven't changed anything in my computer so I'm puzzled.

Thanks Eric, but unfortunately my Frankenstien Automator app was moving the originals and not making copies. I thank the gods I didn't roll out the app to the guys in the office before testing it myself. You could wreak havoc with these Automator apps if you so chose!
I now have the hideous task of trying to relocate 11,500 images..clearly will never do it and will have to wait until I find missing images then go look for them. Unfortunately the app had eaten its way through my web site folder before I stopped it and the thousands of auto generated image slices, bullet points, etc have been scattered to the winds.
Roll on Time Machine and OSX.5...plus a back-up regime or a 10gb iDisk account and 100mb broadband!

WRT610N - Unable to change "Server Name" - No Text box.

I have my WRT610N running V2 firmware. In all of the documentation I see, on the Admin area within the Storage Tab, there is a text box next to the Server Name and you are able to update that field to change the Server Name. However, I have no textbox here, and thus am unable to change the Server Name. I've attempted factory defaults, firmware upgrades, and multiple reboots to attempt to solve the issue. Any help out there?

Whats the Firmware version is installed on your Router and whats the Version number of your Router? If it's an Version 2 Router, then it doesn't have an option to change the Server Name. As far as i know the Version 1 Router has an option to change the Server Name.
If its an Version 1 Router and if you have updated the firmware, with the latest firmware you don't have an option to change the Server Name, By Default its WRT610N.

Unable to change "Your name" in BIS

I have my Gmail account set up in BIS and everything is working perfectly, however, I am unable to change the "Your name:" field to anything other than what's already there. I've tried deleting the account and re-adding it in there from the web site as well as from my BB to no avail. When I change the field, I don't get an error and I receive a message saying "Email account successfully updated." but it doesn't stay. For some reason, just my last name is in there (i.e. Smith) but I would like to change the "Your name:" field to my full name: John Smith.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? TIA!

What did your mobile operator have to say about it? This seems to be a problem specific to them. They can disable most of the fields your BIS account.

WVC200 - unable to change admin password or add new users

I am unable to change my AD password in Lion

We have two installs of Lion running right now at my company, and we are both unable to change our Active Directory passwords through System Preferences, Users & Groups, Change Password.
This is the error we are receiving:
"Your system administrator may not allow you to change your password or there was some other problem with your password. Contact your system administrator for help."
We do have password strength requirements, but we are both following those rules. All my Snow Leopard people are still able to change passwords.
Any ideas?

Not sure why, but this has issue has been resolved by itself. For weeks it didn't work, and now it does. I am going to blame this one on our AD server.

Unable to change text size

So I have been unable to change my text size in itunes. When i switch between "large" and "small" text sizes the size remains the same, however the size of the menus and the itunes stores is small. I theorize it was probably some program I installed but since I am nearly constantly adding and removing programs I can't pinpoint which one it was. If anyone can tell me how to fix it or point me in the right direction that would be great. I am including my system info as well as a screen of itune. Thanks.

Well, it is not advised to do it manually, the logged in user (sidadm)
should have the permissions, the reason being it is required at several points of time and with several folders..
However, for learning purpose, here is the syntax to be given in command line-
chgrp -R groupname <directoryName> (for all subdirectory - recursive)
I gave this jsut to cross verify, please assign the access rights (add to admin group) and then continue installation,

Unable to change colour of text

I have a simple illustrator document with some text on it. The text is green. I wish to add additional text to the document in the exact shade of green that the current text is in. Believe it or not, I can't figure out how to do this. I can select the text I want to to be green and select a colour from the swatches menu, but the shades of green available there are not the exact shade of green that I need. I tried selecting my newly written text, click the eye dropper tool, and then clicked on my old text (which is in the shade of green that I want) but this frustratingly changes the font of my newly written text to the same font as the original text, without changing it's colour.
If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. Please be verbose in your response/instructions. Thanks,

I figured it out!!
So, in short.. the green color you have on the word CAR is a gradient. If you look closely you can see small bits of black around the edges of the word. Black is the original color of the text, and the green gradient is sitting on top of it as an appearance. It's a bit of a hassle that you cannot just apply a gradient color to live text but here is how you work around it.
1. Save the green color (gradient) as a swatch by selecting the word CAR and dragging the fill icon over to your swatches panel.
2. Next, select the text that you want to change (the word "Within"). Change it so it has no fill and no stroke.
3. With that same word selected, open the appearance panel. In the panel flyout menu, choose Add New Fill...
4. It will automatically choose black. Just open the fill option and choose the swatch you made it step 1.
5. Bam! Here is your desired fill.
6. As an extra step, if you would like to get rid of the black text that is peeping out from behind the green on the word CAR just use the Type tool and highlight the word car.
7. In the Fill section, Click the small thumbnail of black to select it and then click the option for None (white box with red slash) to remove it.
8. Here you go, clean lines!
I'm not sure if you meant to have a green gradient on your text, or if you just wanted one color green. Here, I've outline the solution for applying a gradient to live text and replicating the same gradient on other pieces of text.
