Unable to change screen quality when accessing Window machine FROM my Mac

I've been playing around with a copy of Apple Remote Desktop 3.1 and I'm very happy with the results when connecting to a Mac Server from my MacBook. We have quite a slow line so I use the sceen adjuster on the top-right corner of the screen to make the remote screen black & white to speed up the connection. I have another server here which is Windows server running RealVNC. When I connect to that machine and try changing the screen quality to black & white, it does nothing Can anyone change the screen quality when connect to a Windows machine from a Mac running Remote Desktop? If so, could you tell me your setup please?

Go to System Preferences-->Display. Choose the biggest dimension there. The screen will turn blue and your display will change.

Issue has only popped up recently and cannot reproduce in a Test environment. Unaware of any SharePoint changes, so hoping someone can point me in the correct direction.
Previously Word document did not have to be physically checked out, but rather the editing of the doc also checked out the doc in a document library. This is the way we want it to remain –

Previously, when check-out was optional, a file was checked out automatically when someone opened it for editing, unless it was already checked out. The editing commands notified the User that the file is being/was checked out. The real issue is the

According to your description, you give the domain admin full control over files on the old file server, but you cannot move the files to the new file server. After pull the files from the old to the new file server, the domain admin can only read the files
on the new file server.
How did you move the files from the old file server to the new file server? Did you setup replication between the two file server or use robocopy?
Please check the files permissions on the new file server to see if the permissions are changed, then share the folder on the new file server to everyone to see the result.

Accessing windows machine from mac on home network
Having serious file sharing issues...any help would be welcomed...
I have a hybrid wired / wireless home network with one powermac, one pc and several laptops.
The laptops are all networked wirelessly through a time capsule (and no problem at all).
The powermac is in the living room connected via a router to the wall socket which in turn is connected to a cisco router in the basement which in turn is connected to the att uverse network router.
The pc is connected to an output of the time capsule.
Both the powermac and pc both have perfect internet performance...
But neither machine can see the other...
I presume it's because they're both on different routers, but surely there must be a way to set up all the routers etc that they realize that they're on the same network and force them to be nice? I'm sure larger networks have this configuration all the time...
If you can point me to some detailed guides how to do this or maybe an old posting...(I've already search a couple hours) I'd be grateful...You need to create a bridge between the two networks and then point the IP and DNS addresses created by the bridge to each of the client machines. In your case it is the PC and Mac. Once they have the same router address and their IP's are on the same network scanning "list", they will see each other. In order to make this work you need:
A bridge hardware device (http://z.about.com/d/compnetworking/1/0/H/3/linksys_wet54gv2-400.jpg)
A good amount of time to configure it properly

[SOLVED] DBus error when accessing "Windows Network"
I'm getting an error when trying to access "Windows Network" from Nautilus after last Gnome (2.22 -> 2.24) update:
Unable to mount location
DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)

Have you tried accessing the share using smbclient? (smbclient //server/share)
I have been receiving the original dbus error for some time now.
I am using share level security on the server.
Using smbclient results in a segfault. Using nautilus also results in an error from libsmbclient which can be seen in one of the log files.

Segmentation fault
There is a samba bug which looks similar but it only affects people with ipv6 disabled. I have disabled and enabled ipv6 several times and the errors persist.
I think it may be related to this bug: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7250
I haven't tried the patch provided yet. -
Window Machines autheticating to Mac OS X computers when they shouldn't
I have a semi large network that has a Linux machine with Samba, and uses that to authenticate domain logins & shares on the network.
However some Windows machines seems to want to authenticate to a Mac OS X computer instead of the Linux Samba machine. When the Windows machine trys to contact the Mac, it drops the packet and creates a error (on the windows machines) either on login or when accessing a share.
One suggestion that I have heard is that Mac OS X is set to a higher priory than the Linux samba computer. I have looked at some the files in the /etc directory but nothing about priory or anything like that.
I have solved the problem temporarily by turning off windows file sharing, and enabling stealth mode. But I want to know solve this problem so if someone who has a Mac OS X machine can work without worrying about accidentally turning Windows Sharing on.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Mac OS X (10.4.7)It /sounds/ like Samba is attempting to become a local or domain master browser. This can be prevented by adjusting the option "os level" under [global] to something very low, e.g.:
os level = 1
Typically Samba starts out with an OS level of 20, which should still cause it to lose all browser elections.
os level = may not be in /etc/smb.conf, but you can add it. Restart Samba and it should take effect. -

How do I access the music from my Mac drive while booted into Windows?
How do I access the music from my Mac drive while booted into Windows via Bootcamp? I tried using MacDrive but it's not supported for Vista 64-bit edition. Is there another program out there that I can use? I just want to be able to access my music that's on Leopard while in Vista. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Your best bet is to move the music on the Windows side since Leopard will be able to read and play the music from the mounted Windows drive (Leopard will not be able write anything to the Windows NTFS partition).
In your case it won't work the other way around.

After a gap of 1 week I have to work on the same assignment and now I have issue to get domain name when my windows machine (pc) is on VPN. It may be possible, with VPN I may not be able to get the domain.

I didn't know you could disable power management for just one device, but verizon tech support did! So you go into device manager, expand universal serial bus controllers, right click the first "root hub", click the power tab, and see if your device shows up. If it doesn't, continue this process through all the root hubs until it does.
When you find it, select it, and click the power management tab on the far right. Uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Restart the computer to save this setting. Then test it by putting the computer to sleep.
It did take about 30 seconds until the pantech uml 290 was connected, but it connected successfully three times in a row. I'm very happy with both the verizon store and verizon tech support. They were both very helpful and pleasant to talk t, and efficiently resolved the problem. I still think you pay too much for mobile broadband, and am a little put off that the problem existed in the first place, but I'm very happy to have this problem resolved.
One other piece of info. I got was that there is an upgrade, pantech 295 usb modem for only 30.00. So if I have any more problems I'll just try that. (It's still a wired, not wireless device, which I prefer.) -
If i create a partition for Windows 7, and boot up in Windows using Boot Camp, can I still access the files from the Mac partition (Photo's Music etc.)

No, OSX will be read only (from Windows) and vice versa. (you can install 3rd party utilities on either or both partitions, to make read/write possible) -

Userexit or BADI to change service price when create PO reference from PR
Hi,
I need userexit or Badi to change the gross price ( ESLL-TBTWR ) when create PO reference from PR. Currently , when I do this it will recalculate the gross price based on the service master and ignoring whatever the price put in PR. Could anyone tell me userexit or Badi that would allow me to change the price when i create PO from PR via ME21N.

You can try using Function Exit EXIT_SAPLMLSP_030 of Enhancment SRVESLL.
This Function Exit has ESLL data as changing parameter.
But this Function Exit is called from a number of transaction. So do put in correct checks (like sy-tcode or sy-ucomm) before substituting any values. If proper checks are not put in then values may be substituted when this function exit is called from other transactions (like tcode "ML81N").

I would really like to avoid Win-Outlook, et al and use some third party software for this.Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
In Firefox 4 [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode Safe mode] disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration.
Check if there is an update available for your graphics display card driver.
* Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
