Unable to change VAT registration .

Hi All,
I am trying to change the VAT registration for Spain (ES) from 'ESN0066391D' to 'ESW0066391D'. But system doesnot allow the new value. I get the message 'VAT registration number is invalid'.
I use the below path
Financial Accounting - Co Code - VAT Reg numbers(VAT Reg No.) - Define foreign VAT Reg numbers
Change view for T001N-UINNR : Overview
can anyone please let me know how can I make the changes.

Hi,
It looks this field is suppressed. To activate this field,
Go to path SPRO->Financial accounting ->Accounts receivables and accounts payables ->Customer accounts->Master data->Preparations for creating customer master data -> define accounts groups with screen layout.
Here select the customer account group for which you want to activate the VAT field and then click on the details button.
Then under field status double click on General data. Then double click on control. Here you can see the filed VAT registration number field. Select optional entry radio button. Then save.
Now go to XD02 and you can find the field is editable.

VAT Registration NO change

Hi all,
We have a requirement to change VAT registration no. to allow 12 character length (instead of current 11). Belgium changed their VAT # system in 2005. i changed confing via path: SPRO > IMG>General settings>Set countries>Set country-specific checks i specified 12 instead of 11.
when i go to change VAT Registration no in vandor master(xk02) under control data tab i specified 12 digit VAT no.the movement when i save i am getting following error message.
Enter long tax number in tax code field 1
Message no. AR 213
Please advice if i am missing any settings other than this path.

Hi, are you certain that you changed the field V_005_B-UINLN in TA OY17 for country BE and saved the change?
If so then exit the TA XK02 and enter the TA again.
My guess is that you are logged on in another langauge that english (or german)!
Some of the translations from english to local langauges in the IMG are "funny" and the VAT registration nummer is in Denmark instance called CVR number, Tax number 1 is called CVR number 1 and Tax number 2 is called CVR number 2

as per me unless and untill you print any docuement you can not test it
Beacuse it is not sap stander to print on docuement ,you have to apply logic to print it on any docuement.
second ,In your configuration docuement you can show you have mainatin it by screen shot
other than this what type of testing you want?

Usually the Abaper adds this field to PO ADDITIONAL DATA tab, if it doesnot already exist. Check in ME21n, whether this tab is available in PO, if yes, tell your abaper to add your required field there. If No, tell him to make one for your requirement.

Something interesting with check rule for VAT registration no.

Hi Guys,
I found something weird in sap with check rule for VAT registration no.
If I set any of check rules for US and save(tcode oy17), then change the country of a customer from DE to US and save(not change the VAT registration no), the system post error messages "ISO code DE is not correct in the VAT registration number". But if I set rule for AU(australia) with same rule as US, and change the customer's country from DE to AU(not change the VAT no), no error happens and customer can be saved successfully. So anybody can give any explanation on this problem?

ERROR ar 196 VAT registration number contains invalid characters

HI GURUS!
I have a problem when i am trying to create a new vendor.
The case is that i dont have the correct registration vat number and this vendor is from the uk.
I have a number to use but it is not the correct one.
The thing that i want to do is to create this vendor with my wrong number and to avoid the validation of the specific for the country.
I tried with the t-code OY17 and i desactivate the flags for vat registration number, but it still giving me the same error ..
What should i do???

You can change the Vendor VAT No after you get it.
Till such time enter the dummy VAT No starting with Country Key...Example for Germany DE..... and for India IN.....
Restore orignal values in OY17.

VAT registration number in VD02 is in error

Hello ALL,
I'm seeking your advice on the following error i encountered during a change in the customer master.
I have one customer with ES as it's country.
The current VAT registration number is ESB0062082C. However, i want to change it into ESW0062082C.
However, when i try to change it, the error "VAT registration number is invalid" appears.
When I try different VAT numbers like ESA########, ESC########, ESD########, ESF######## until ESH######## it is all accepted.
But when i use ESI######## to ESZ########, the error "VAT registration number is invalid" appears.
Can you please tell me what causes this? what should i modify in the customizing to allow ESW########?

The control digit (the final C) cannot go on C after change the root B by W. You can check the codification of VAT number in Spain in this [article of wikipedia|http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/N%C3%BAmero_de_identificaci%C3%B3n_fiscal] (in spanish). You have a [link|http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%C3%B3digo_de_identificaci%C3%B3n_fiscal] with the algorithm in differents programming languages.
If you have doubts, do a debugging session in function module EU_TAX_NUMBER_CHECK, when it call the subroutine check_digit_check_e.
Finally, here, in Spain, is usual that salesman (the people that usually give this kind of information) will be inaccurate with this kind of data.

Invoice Split due to different VAT Registration nos.

Hi all,
I have a problem where a sales order and delivery is created but Invoice is getting split into 2 invoices which is Unwanted. There are 4 items in the order - the 1st invoice contains the first 2 items and 2nd invoice contains last 2 items. The ship-to party is different than the sold-to party.
The split analysis shows that - Header data is different - VAT registration no. is different.
I checked the VAT registration nos. of sold-to party and ship-to party. They are different - BUT this should not lead to Invoice Split.
Any pointers on this would be really helpful and will be rewarded.

In normal circumstances, invoice will not split if VAT registration number is different.
May be go to OBD2, select the account group, double click on "General data" and again on "Control" tab. Against the field "VAT registration number", if the box is checked for "Req.Entry", change it to "Optional" and then retry.

Replace VAT registration number when create invoice

Hi All Expert,
I want to replace the VAT registration number (VBRK-STCEG) with some useful information when create invoice.
For e.g. Sales Order number.
I've check the user exit RV60AFZC Form USEREXIT_FILL_VBRK_VBRP,
but when I instead the code there, the VAT registration number still is BLANK when create the invoice using VF01...
Please help.

As per my understanding you want to display the sales order number in VAT Registration no. field. Actually this data is coming from Customer master (t-code XD02) in genral Data's Control Tab.
Now your concern is to display the sales order no. in invoice. instead changing standard you can make it happen through copy control (T-code VTFL) with your invoice document type to Delivery document type. There is option as Reference and assignment at header level of copy control.
Change the option of displaying sales order no in any of them. as per your config there your sales order no will be display in your billing header in assignment or reference field.

Unable to change the data in PSA

Hello All,
I have a delta failure because of invalid characters in one of the field and now i wanted to change the PSA. I have deleted the request from all data targets and started changing the error record, it is not showing all columns from PSA hence i am unable to change the data in required field.

To increase/decrease the number of columns that are displayed on the menu from the Settings option select Change display variants
Also if you want to see say all the failed records you can sort the order of the data using the Status column

Unable to change the data source of SAP system

Dear all,
We have install SAP netweaver EHP1 standalone java on oracle 10.2.0.5 on windows 2008 R2.
while installation i have given the central SLD system as solman,
By mistake i have deleted the system from SMSY.. now when i createed the system manually i am unable to change the data resource as SLD due to this i can start my SMD configuration
Request please let me know how to resolve this issue.

Hi Paresh,
You can proceed with deleting your SAP system from SMSY (along with connected technical content such as AS Java definition) and the run the LANDSCAPE FETCH through transaction SMSY_SETUP to have the correct definition of your SAP system in SMSY.
Following this, you could use the addon Landscape Verification (a new thing I learnt today!!!) to check the correctness of transaction SMSY. The following link details the Landscape verification 1.0 for SolMan:

Unable to change Profile picture in Windows 8

I recently upgraded to Windows 8. The upgrade imported a picture from my Windows 7 Skype, and now I am unable to change the profile picture. There is no menu at the top in Windows 8, which prevents me from changing the profile picture.
What are my options for correcting this, and also how does one sign out of Skype in Windows 8?

Although I'd love to provide a proper response, unfortunately I too have only questions, which I'd hope someone could answer. "Opening Skype and clicking on the picture" isn't as helpful as one would hope. With Windows 8 -- in either mode, through either Google Chrome or IE10 -- there is not only no menu or options with either right or left clicking, but no clear way to change a profile picture through any other means. I've tried everything I could think of -- literally wasting HOURS trying to change this thing. Googling the question gets me only fixes that don't appear to apply. In fact, the lack of coherent help regarding anything having to do with Windows 8 is nothing short of mindboggling -- and I consider myself a pretty good finder-of-information normally!!! I read elsewhere in these forums (unfortunately lost to me now that I have signed in) that it may be a problem relating to whether my browser is 32 or 64 bit (if I read it right). I have since tried to load Chrome in 64 bit.... probably unsuccessfully, given I still can't seem to do much differently. Being a bit of a techno-dud I don't know how to check which version I now have as even with the "about:version" function, the reply isn't definitive to my untrained eye (unless WOW64 means something?). I need things somewhat dummied down. I'm totally new to both Windows 8 and Skype (and for that matter Google Chrome, having always been a Firefox fan, which apparently is not working properly for Windows . ANY help that might be available would be greatly appreciated in making this experience less frustrating. Thank you for whatever you can do!!!

Unable to change "Your name" in BIS

I have my Gmail account set up in BIS and everything is working perfectly, however, I am unable to change the "Your name:" field to anything other than what's already there. I've tried deleting the account and re-adding it in there from the web site as well as from my BB to no avail. When I change the field, I don't get an error and I receive a message saying "Email account successfully updated." but it doesn't stay. For some reason, just my last name is in there (i.e. Smith) but I would like to change the "Your name:" field to my full name: John Smith.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? TIA!

What did your mobile operator have to say about it? This seems to be a problem specific to them. They can disable most of the fields your BIS account.

Unable to change setings, was in Siri, got 'jammed'

This 'Senior' got jammed-up. Unable to change settings, settings unresponsive and am stuck in Siri. Problem happened IN SIRI, now can't change settings to even access the Siri option.
SETTINGS WON'T LET ME ACCESS OPTIONS 'below level of Wallpaper'. Swipe won'r allow to go to any other screen in settings.
This happened in SIRI and I can't even disable 'turn-off' Siri
Unable to close applications on bottom of screen as well, as usually done.
The 'voice mode' is on, and that is what jammed everything up.
The only appications which show 'open on screen are' Messages,Phone, Settings and Safari, Mail, Music, and I am prevented from 'closing them'.
I did a turn-off, began again with the apple logo but can't reset.
Can't get past the first screen in my apps.
I BELIEVE it is a SIRI problem but can't change settings other than 'Airplane Mode through Wallpaper.'
I bet there is someone who would help a 'Grandma'!
What on Earth IS wrong?!!! and how can I get 'out of it' without going to the Apple Store.
Tiny store ,International Record as "Smallest Apple Store in the World", Santa Rosa, California..and they aren't much interested in giving-up that claim to fame!

Unable to change Date Created in Metadata

Please help with my first post...
Unable to change Date Created field in Metadata.
I am a newspaper photographer sending .jpg pics with captions to my office from my iMac. They are viewed at the office on Windows PCs using SCC MediaGrid.
When changing Date Created in Metadata Invalid Format warning appears "Format should be ISO 8601 XML compliant, that is YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm[:ss][tz] (eg 2006-07-11T13:14:30-07:00)"
If 2009-09-26, for example, is entered then exported pictures opened up in Photoshop or shown on SCC MediaGrid do not display the date.
To get dates to show up I first have to open a pic in Photoshop, go to File Info, enter 26/9/09 in Date Created and Save As.
Next I have to Import this into Aperture where the Date Created shows as "20090926".
Using Lift Metadata and Stamp Metadata the date can be transferred to other pics.
Now when I export these pics the date does show up in Photoshop and SCC MediaGrid.
Can Date Created be typed straight into field in Aperture?...Very important when pics go into archive on a server.
Also if I hit Return key in a Metadata Caption, to type on the next line, both lines will appear as one with a small square in-between them when viewed on SCC MediaGrid on a Windows PC.

Nick I don't generallt use the IPTC metadata, so I'm not sure I will be too much help.
What version of Aperture are you using? I tried both things and I didn't have any problems with the latest version of Aperture on my Mac.
I was able to enter a date into "Date Created" both with and without the time-zone adjustment. Can you tell us the exact string you tried to enter into the "Date Created" and exactly when you get the error? I tried to enter my time zone (eastern US) as "-5:00", but Aperture wouldn't let me enter the 5 and popped up the error message when I typed that key. I had to use "-05:00".
As for the caption, when I hit return, Aperture ends my edit. I cannot reproduce your described behavior of actually getting a new-line into the field. I suspect your problem (although I don't know how you get to your problem) is one of the following:
1) The IPTC standard doesn't tell if the software should use a Unix-style end-of-line (which is a line-feed), or a DOS/Windows style end-of-line (which is carriage-return followed by line-feed). Aperture may put in the Unix-style and your Windows programs don't know what to do with it.
2) The IPTC standard does indicate the end-of-line style, but either Aperture or your other programs don't follow it.
or
3) IPTC Metadata doesn't actually support end-of-line, so Aperture should not allow you to enter multiple lines, but it has a bug so it does allow you to do that.
Can you tell us where exactly you are editing the caption? I tried it in the inspector pane (on the left) in the "Metadata" tab, and then I hit the "IPTC" button at the bottom of the tab.
