Unable to change "Your name" in BIS

I have my Gmail account set up in BIS and everything is working perfectly, however, I am unable to change the "Your name:" field to anything other than what's already there. I've tried deleting the account and re-adding it in there from the web site as well as from my BB to no avail. When I change the field, I don't get an error and I receive a message saying "Email account successfully updated." but it doesn't stay. For some reason, just my last name is in there (i.e. Smith) but I would like to change the "Your name:" field to my full name: John Smith.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? TIA!

What did your mobile operator have to say about it? This seems to be a problem specific to them. They can disable most of the fields your BIS account.

Cortana may not speak your name when tapping the "Hear how I'll say it" button when setting up your name for the first time or when changing your name in the settings panel.

There is no workaround for this issue. However, you can still complete the process of setting or changing your name.

WRT610N - Unable to change "Server Name" - No Text box.

I have my WRT610N running V2 firmware. In all of the documentation I see, on the Admin area within the Storage Tab, there is a text box next to the Server Name and you are able to update that field to change the Server Name. However, I have no textbox here, and thus am unable to change the Server Name. I've attempted factory defaults, firmware upgrades, and multiple reboots to attempt to solve the issue. Any help out there?

Whats the Firmware version is installed on your Router and whats the Version number of your Router? If it's an Version 2 Router, then it doesn't have an option to change the Server Name. As far as i know the Version 1 Router has an option to change the Server Name.
If its an Version 1 Router and if you have updated the firmware, with the latest firmware you don't have an option to change the Server Name, By Default its WRT610N.

Unable to change the name of events in iPoto 08

Hi.
I have iPhoto 08, and at first it was fine. But when I transferred my photos from my nikon d40 to my iPod, and then to my iMac from the iPod, i weren´t able too change the name of the events anymore.
This is very anoying. Hope someone can help me with this.

iTunes is your answer. YES! iTunes... edit your info on your account in iTunes and it should work.

How do you change your name of your phone? I am having the horrible problem that my phoone doesn't work with my Bluetooth and it was recommended that aI change the name, among others things (that still don't work!)

Thank you...this was a suggestion from a blog regarding the Bluetooth problem that has resulted from the most recent upgrade---lost the audio capabilities suddenly in my car as have other people and there is nothing that Apple has had me do that has restored it! I am not a very happy camper regarding this dilemma! thank you for your help though!

My sister bought my iPod for me using her name and card, now on Game Center my name is really her name. How do I change it? I have already changed her name to mine on Apple ID.

You have to go to Settings>GameCenter and sign out and sign back in with your ID. However. old games remain linked to the ID that purchased/originally used them

Unable to change file name in Metadata pane - Lightroom 2

I can't seem to activate the file name area in the Metadata pane in the Library module. It is solid gray and I cannot make the area active. With the correct folder active, the files seem to be normal in all visible ways, but the ability to change the name is not available. This is true in Grid or Loupe views. It is true with only one Active image. Any thoughts?

Are the images on-line? Though that shouldn't make a difference. You should still get a non-grayed out filename and get a warning dialog, instead if you try to set a name change.

Unable to change group text name or add person to some group texts in iOS 8

I really like the ability to change group text names as it helps me separate work group texts from personal especially when I have coworkers that have separate business phones. I'm unable to change the name of some group texts as the option is not there when I go into details. I'm also unable to add contact to the same group texts that I'm unable to change the name on. Is this a glitch or am I missing something?

If you are having issues with renaming and adding users to group texts, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device

I am trying to figure out why whenever I send an email, it has someone else's name on it. So other people think that it is someone else emailing them, I can't find the option to change your name in mail prefrences, it was greyed out... please help

If you mean the sending name that appears on the "From:" line, to change it on and iOS device, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tap iCloud under Accounts, tap your iCloud account at the top of the next screen, tap Mail at the bottom of the next screen, then enter the name you want to use in the Name field at the top.
To change the From name on your Mac Mail, go to icloud.com, sign into your account, open Mail, click the gear shaped icon on the bottom left and choose Preferences, go to the Accounts tab and enter the name you want to use in the Full Name field and click Done. Then quit Mail on your Mac and re-open it. Your new From name should now appear in the drop-down list when you compose a new email.

If you mean in iCloud, Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account

Unfortunately it's not possible to change that address and if you create a new account you can't transfer your existing content.
if you don't like the email address you have created, you might create an alias and use that instead.

Why won't siri change my name?

Change iCloud name

How do I change my iCloud name? I don't know how, but my husband's name appears on everything that I use my own iCloud account for.

Thank you! Everything on my computer has reset and reflects my own name now. I did have to take a few more steps to get everything in order. So for others info: After changing your name in iCloud online, open up Mail and click the new message icon. When the new message pops up, select your new name from the "From" pull down menu then close it out. The next time you open it the old name will be gone. Then go to System Preferences, click on iCloud, click on Account Details, retype your name. Then everything will be set properly. Thanks again.

I am unable to change the computer name.

I am unable to change the computer name of my MBP 9.1.
When I edit the computer's name in settings/sharing the name reverts to
the old name of Bill's MBP (2). I am attempting to delete the (2) portion of the name.
This along with a 27" iMac and a MBP 7.1 are networked wirelessly
through a older AP extreme. What am I doing wrong?

I finaly took the MBP to the Apple Store.
While waiting for the genius, I kept trying to
change the MBP's name in sharing. After trying
several things, control-enter worked. I have no idea why.
The reason I'm posting this is that the genius
reminded me that I could not be certain the change
took until I restarted the MBP. I hadn't seen this
important step before and some may not be aware of this.
I suppose this applies to any change made on your Mac.
