Unable to charge Microphoto with USB AA Battery Char

Hi All, Prior to purhcasing the microphoto, I went down to creative HQ store with my USB AA Portable Charger to test if my portable charger can charge the Microphoto.
The staff were very helpful and let me test on unit, and also inform me that as long as I see a "lighting" icon on the top right corner, the microphoto is charging.
After buying the microphoto, i find that I am unable to charge my microphoto with my AA charger.
The "Lighting" icon is there but the battery indicator just does not increase.
Kindly advise.
My AA USB Charger looks like this

Try a different charger. If the problem persists, it's the phone. This is not the typical iPhone experience and I hope you will have a good one when the issue gets resolved

  • Using AC adapter to charge is better than charge it with  USB cable?

I've been reading this on http://www.ipodbatteryfaq.com/
"When possible, always use the AC adapter (or vehicle adapter) for extended charging, not a FireWire cable attached to a computer."
The artical does not explain why, but I'm curious about it.
So, does charging iPod with USB cable really damage the battery?
Is it always better to charge iPod with AC adapter?
Any answer will be appreciated, thanks in advance anyway

Even if you use an a/c adaptor you still need the usb cable to connect it to the iPod. The very same cable you use to connect to the computer.
A firewire cable is something completely different, and although the 5th gen iPod will charge via a firewire cable they are not supplied with the iPod (because the iPod won't accept data transfer via firewire).
When reading about the iPod battery, you should remember that there is an awful lot of nonsense said. I've never found any difference whatsoever either charging via a mains adaptor or via a computer.

  • I cannot get more than 12 to 14 hours out of a full charge, and with a new battery.  Is the phone dying?

I cannot get more than 12 to 14 hours out of a full charge, and with a new battery.  The battery has been charged at least a dozen times, so I know it's at full charge.  Is the phone dying?

Do a Li-ion battery rebuild. Do a full 6-8 hour charge with device in sleep mode, next run it down to about 45-50 % and then a 4-5 hour charge. After that use your phone and take it down to 30%. Another 6-8 hour charge and then down to no lower then 20-25% and one more full 8 hour charge. At that point your battery should be rebuilt back to a normal life cycle. This should eliminate your battery problem.

  • Ipod doesn't charge except with usb

My 30 gig video only charges through the usb cable via computer. It doesn't charge with older firewire adapter, and I just bought an ez-trip car charger/fm modulator and it doesn't charge either. Any ideas?

Hmmm. I'm able to charge my iPod video or nano using a firewire cable from my Power Mac. The iPod reports that synching is not supported via Firewire but it charges.

  • Charging MicroPhoto with FM Modula

I just purchased an FM Modulator that powers threw the cigarette lighter. It works great. There is a USB adapter on the bottom that allows you to play mp3s off of a flash dri've. It says that you can use the USB plug to charge your mp3 player as well. When I attach my MicroPhoto to the FM modulator with Creative's USB cable, the music stops playing, and the screen says docked. I loose all control of the mp3 player.
Has anyopne else had this issue? Is there something I'm doing wrong? I have the most up to date firmware loaded.
Is my only choice going to be to remove pins 2 and 3 from the USB cable, so it only sends electricity, and no data?

    I don't what?
I ended up pulling the data pins out of the mini usb end, and it charges perfectly now. I would still like to know if there's a different way if anyone has any ideas.

While charging my IPHONE 4S with the USB adapter supplied along with iphone the power line gets blown up every time  and I am left only with the option to recharge through the USB port of my laptom.Any remedy?

Have you tried other outlets? That may be an electrical problem in your house, worse case scenario. Try other USB wall adapters.

  • Unable to charge G2 via USB?

Plugged in my G2 overnight Saturday night when it was down to about 25%, woke up on Sunday morning to see it hovering at around 80/81% and discharging. After looking at the battery stats, I was able to tell that it charged to over 90% before stopping charging completely and starting to discharge.
I was using the original cord and power brick when it happened, if that makes any difference.
I have confirmed that the issue is not any of the specific chargers that I have around (either the cords or the brick, and have used both the OEM one as well as others) - and I have booted into Safe Mode to see if that would solve the problem - it did not.
Luckily, I was able to get a wireless Qi charger from a friend as that is the only way that my phone will (very slowly) charge.
    Help!

You can install the cable driver manually by using the following steps:
    1. Connect Cable to USB
2a. If PC sees cable it will ask for you to supply a driver, browse the disc and select the XP driver from drivers folder and there you go.
2b. If PC does not see the cable it may be found in the Device Manager as Other or USB Device. (device manager can be found by pressing Windows Key and Pause together) or go in through Control Panel.
    3. Highlight Other or USB Device and right click and go into Properties.
    4. Select Update Driver and do as 2a.
    Hope this works

  • Unable to charge my MacBook but the battery and charger are fine...

    Hello all...
I brought this MacBook in late 2008 as i love Apple products and had had my last one for 5 years with no problems, so i upgraded.
Before the year warranty was up the battery completely died, which worried me as my previous apples battery lasted 3 years before gradually loosing power. This one worked fine one day, the next it was dead.
Both me and my partner have a MacBook so when this one failed to charge, i had the luxery of being able to test the charger and the battery, both are fine.
His Macbook is about 5 years old now and he has never had one issue or needed to replace the battery.
Does it sound like i brought a dud?
Has anyone heard of this problem before, or know of a solution?
    Yours in anticipation
    A very frustrated Mac user

Basically the magsafe board is a tiny board that plugs into the logic board. The battery cord, which are the brass pins you see when you remove the battery, are the end of another cord which connects to the logic board. If it isn't the magsafe board, which btw is a fairly reliable piece of hardware, then it is the logic board because this board is what actually houses the SMC. The SMC, or System Management Controller, is what controls hardware power and cooling by taking the information from the temp sensors, the battery, magsafe and other locations and deciding what to do with that information and what it means. If the SMC is not functioning properly, then the machine will still use power when it is given to it, but routing the power correctly, ensuring the battery is charged and everything else can be faulty. The SMC is a non-removable part of the logic board, so when it fails, the only way to recover its functions are to replace the entire board.
Sadly the Genius didn't lead you astray when he told you that. A cheaper option might be a third-party battery charger from macsales.com. I don't work for them or get anything for the reference, but they do have external battery charges and conditioners for the MacBook batteries.

  • Possible to charge pb with usb or firewire cable through ipod charger?

    hello,
i forgot to pack my pb charger for my trip. i do have my ipod charger. would it be possible to charge with that by using the firewire to firewire cable or firewire to usb cable? i haven't tried yet for fear of ruining something.
    cheers.
    powerbook g4   Mac OS X (10.4.1)

USB and Firewire - from the Powerbook is one way traffic - ie the PowerBook pumps power out. It doesn't need to take power from a peripheral such as an ipod so it's not set up to do so.
As for "borrrowing" a supply from Apple, you don't know unless you ask. If you're away from home for a month might it be worth getting someone from home to send it to you?
There are local Apple user groups in major cities, so you could page apple users in those cities to see if you can borrrow a power supply.
Or you might have to bite the bulllet and just buy another - either from Apple, ebay or even Criagslist. You might find a slightly cheaper 3rd part adapter somewhere.
Sorry can't help any more. Good luck.

  • Unable to use HD with usb shows errors on disc,

I have just bought a new airport extreme, and have conected it to my windows pc using a Belkin draft n adaptor, i am unable to use my 305gb maxtor 3200 0344, which is displayed in the setup utility as the above, but when i open the utility it tells me there are errors on the disc and to connect to my pc and run a disc repair, i have done this and there seems to be no problems, The airport disc agent does'nt seem to display it and is just blank, it is ntfs and on the box it said it is also apple mac compatable, any thoughts, thanx.

Sorry but NTFS is not a supported format. You will need to reformat the drive. See KB 305038, AirPort Extreme (802.11n): USB storage device supported formats and protocols.

  • Battery icon never full when charging iPhone with iTunes 8.2

I'm 99% sure this just started happening with iTunes 8.2
It's pretty minor as things go, but still annoying. After charging, my iPhone shows fully charged both with the large Battery while docked and on the little icon in the upper right corner of the iPhone.
However, the iTunes icon still shows the lightning bolt.
The iTunes icon does progress from being empty to full during the charging process, but never gets to the point where the full "plug" replaces the charging "lightning bolt"
Is anyone else experiencing this with an original iPhone?
One thing I did consider is that if iTunes 8.2 is being released in advance of the next gen iPhone and that device has a larger capacity battery, the iTunes might not think an older iPhone is completely charged when, in fact, it is. This seems a bit far fetched to me, but would be a bug nonetheless.
Please pass along your experiences here...

    More information....
I left my iPhone docked after the iPhone itself indicated that it was fully charged.
About three hours after the iPhone displayed the completed charge plug, the iTunes charging icon finally changed from lightning bolt to plug.
Bottom line, either the iPhone displays a charge complete icon too early, or iTunes does too late.
Now, I'm starting to wonder if my formerly far fetched idea about iTunes being, umm, tuned more towards the next gen iPhone's batter may not have been that far fetched.
    Anyone else?

  • Satellite A110 Battery won't charge & won't run if battery is plugged in

    Hello there,
Let me try to resume the situation clearly enough.
    Product : Toshiba Satellite A110-149
Works fine on AC adapter (just a resume from standby issue but that's because of Gentoo Linux, this used to work under Windows XP)
Original battery was dead. Not only didn't it charge but with both this battery and the AC adapter absolutly nothing happened, not a single LED on. No need to mention I couldn't turn the comp on.
Bought a new battery at AboutBatteries.com
    - Replace: PA3465U-1BRS | 10.8V | 6600mAh (71Wh)
With this new battery in and the AC adapter plugged I have the power green led and the orange charging led on. But even after 8 hours and computer off the battery hasn't charged.
If I try to turn the comp on with this new battery in and the AC adapter plugged in it starts running but after a while it shuts down automatically, not matter wether I boot or enter BIOS.
BIOS is Phoenix v1.50 and I reset settings to default.
By the way, downloaded the last OS independent 1.70-WIN (bios-20090121162419.zip) but is there a way to update it without Windows?
I've tried to unplugged everything and press the power button several times (last try i kept pressing for more than 2 minutes for what that matters)
I've clean the contacts with alcohol.
Could this be because of a fuse or capacitor I could replace myself or something?
    Any help would be appreciate.
    Regards,
    Charly

    Hola,
Agree with you and sadly made the same conclusion. But the different behaviours between old battery and new battery made me wonder.
I've been using this laptopn with the AC Adaptor only for quite a while but I bought a new battery with to be able to work even without it. It is after all the purpose of a laptop. Or I'll keep going with my desktop which way more powerful. ;)
I'll wait for other potential answers and then open it to see I can find any replaceable dead component.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night.
