Unable to check for Amber update

I am unable to check for Amber update on my Nokia Lumia 520 device. Whenever I click on option 'Check for updates' under 'Phone update' I am getting a message "We are currently unable to check for updates. (80072ee2).
I am using Idea 2G network & also tried on checking the status via Wi-fi connection but didn't work.

I had the same issue and this got fixed after i did a HARD RESET to my windows phone and setting the screen go off time to "NEVER" so this does not locks the screen and the update screen does nt go off.
IF YOU DON'T WW+ANNA RESET YOUR PHONE, just try to set the lock screen time to "NEVER" and try to update. If this works, then well and good ! but if it does'nt, then it SURE will do after a hard reset!

Getting an error message of unable to
check for software update when trying to update to
ios 8.0.2. Can someone help ??

    Howdy there otss1979,
It sounds like you are unable to download the iOS 8.0.2 update either, over the air, or using iTunes. If you are updating the software on your phone in Settings > General > software update I would recommend starting with this article:
Resolve issues with an over-the-air iOS update
If you are using iTunes, I would use this article instead:
Resolve iOS update and restore errors in iTunes
If you are getting a specific error number, the following article will help you get that resolved:
Resolve iOS update and restore errors
If this does not resolve the issue, could you please write the error message you are getting word for word for me?
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • Unable to check for software updates or connect to itunes store

since upgrading to Leopard, i can't get software upgrades. I get error messages "software update can't connect to the update server. make sure you're connected to the internet, then try again. software update can't check for updates because of a network problem." My network connections are fine.
Also get "itunes could not connect to the itunes store. the network connection was refused. make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again." when I try to go to itunes store. Again, my network connections are fine.
    Any ideas?

No, I thought that it might be the firewall but it doesn't seem to be. Whatever it is that I try to update always gets this message
couldn’t be found on the server “swcdn.apple.com”.
I had to fix a few permissions but that didn't solve this problem.

  • Unable to check for software updates

The software updater on my mac doesnt seem to be working. I click on the apple icon, then software updater. i then get the error message The file “index-leopard-seed-1.sucatalog” couldn’t be found on the server “swscan.apple.com”."
    any ideas?
i've been trying to install the osx 10.5.6 combo update and itunes 8 but neither are working, i'm wondering whether the updater is the root of the problems as I suspect no updates have been installed for quite some time.
thanks in advance for your help

It sounds like you are connecting the apple server for some reason...
Are you running any ADC betas?
Try starting in Safe Mode (It will take more time to startup in Safe Mode because it runs a directory check.)
If your apps download installs correctly that way, go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items, and remove them. Boot normally and test. If not go to ~(yourHome)/Library/Contextual Menu Items and move whatever is there to the desktop. Then do the same with /Library/Contextual Menu Items. Lastly, try moving ~(yourHome)/Library/Fonts to your desktop and restarting.
Log out/in or restart, if that sorts it start putting items back one at a time until you find the culprit.

  • My Software update to 7.0 quit. Unable to check for an update iPhone 4.

Just want to remove the partial file which downloaded.
In Settings, >Clicked Software Update> The download hung and only downloaded a partial file.
What I want to do is to remove whatever data has downloaded and my problem will be solved.
What I do not know is where to go or how to access the file that was downloaded in this area
    and how to delete it.
    thanks,
    Funky

did you have a Beta version or did you have it before iOS 7 was officially released? if so you have to restore your phone. just make sure to back up the data first.

  • Unable to Check for Update on OS 5.1

My iPad 2 will not update its software over the air and comes up with the message Unable to Check for Update.  I have tried updating via iTunes 10.6 and it just sits there trying to contact the update server.  I have also reset the iPad and restored from backup.  Exactly the same problem!
Its nothing to do with the network as i get exactly the same problem at work as i do at home.  My iPhone 4S updated to 5.1 without any problem.  However my iPad just does not want to know.
    Please help!

Correction. I started the update on my iPhone and my wife's iPad. However, they never finished. Each one returned an error message stating that the "Software Update Failed. An error occurred downloading iOS 5.1." I can't even get my ipad2 to get that far. It returns an error when trying to contact the server.

I found a fix for this.
Go to Wifi    Settings and then select your Wifi Network. Tap the blue arrow to go into Wifi settings and then select the DNS tab.
Set the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and then go back to the software update page.
    This time it shall work.
I tried it on an iPad 1 running iOS 5.0.1 but I am sure this shall help.
Do rate me and reply if it works.

This device does not have a sim card in it. Could this be the reason or am I missing something when I am trying to update.
Yes. You can't update or restore any GSM iPhone without a valid sim card installed in the phone. The sim card need not be activated, but it must be valid & present. If you want to update, you need to get a sim card.

Go to iTunes.com, then click on Download iTunes on the top right area, then on the next screen make sure it states iTunes 11.1 on the left side and email is not necessary then click on download now in the blue button. Issue should be resolved

  • HT201210 how do I correct - Unable to Check for Update  an error occured while checking for a software update.

error message:  Unable to check updates.  an error accured while checking for a software update.

It is all in your WIFI.
I have 2 internal Wifi networks at home. In one (family) the software update works immediately, in the other one (guess) it gives me the same error "Unable to Check for Udpate" ... The guess network I did set up carries some restrictions being the reason why the update does not work.
