Unable to close open apps with double clicking the button and when I tap screen does not respond?
Cannot not close open apps with double clicking the button Since downloading iOS8.
What happens when you try? Does double clicking the ?home button bring up the Task Bar of recently used apps? If so what happens when you flick up on the preview screen for the app you want to close?
To quit an app double click the Home button to reveal the row of recently used apps. Flick up on the page preview and it will fly away and disappear. That quits the app.

Double-tap on the Home button. You will see a preview of the app above the actual icon. Slide the preview up to kill it.

You don't press and hold them. Just swipe up.

is the latests ios version installed?
if so then are you 100% sure you have an iphone4s because if you have an iphone4 it would be absent because Iphone4 don't support it

Just noticed that when I close my mail app by double clicking the home button and swiping up it dies something weird. After doing this when I open my mail, instead of showing all my mailboxes it automatically opens one of them instead. Anyone know why?
Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information. When I am on a phone call and I double click the button to go to my home screen, then open another application (usually my calendar program, Calengoo), my screen goes blank and I am not able to return to either the app, the phone, or the home screen. If I am speaking to a person, if they hang up then I am back to the phone application. If I'm leaving a message, I am unable to return to the phone screen to end the call, and have to wait until the other phone hangs up. I'm also unable to switch back and forth to look at my calendar if I'm calling someone about scheduling. This has only started happening since the most recent iOs update. I run into situations similar to this about once per day during the work week, as I use my phone is this manner quite often. While not life altering it is quite frustrating. Can anyone here help me figure out a way to avoid this? If it helps, I have noticed a general downgrade in overall performance starting two system updates ago (apps opening more slowly, closing unexpectedly more often, etc.). I have an iPhone 3GS with the latest OS update.

You can check the notification settings for message.
Settings>Notification Center>Messages>Alert Style
It should be on Banners or Alerts.
Settings>Messages> Turn on Imessage and send as SMS and below that "Blocked" to check if you have any numbers block might be blocking the message.
You can also do a hard reset by holding power and home till it restarts and release after seeing the apple logo.
Still doesn't work? Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings -
How can I turn-off the apps which I have opened once in ISO 7.0.2. In previous version of ISO it was easy to turn-off the opened apps by double clicking on home button and then click and hold on respective apps then click on cross sign but in this version I could not do so and my iPad appears slower.

I'm trying to install Adobe CC on the 2nd computer, a Macbook and after downloading the CC desktop app I double click to intall. When it looks to be done installing I go to double-click on the ourobouros icon at the top and I am rewarded with the spinning beach all of death. Any suggestions?

There isn't currently a way to edit or control which apps appear in the 'open in' list apart from deleting (or deleting and reinstalling) apps - you could try leaving feedback and maybe in the future we'll have some sort of control : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

My trackpad can't open file with double click
i don't know what's going on, but my trackpad can't open file with double click. i have to open it with right click, open or open with. i've tried to fix it in the system preferences, it didn't work out well.
William - you are wonderful! I had looked at that - they were set to 'internal' which seemed like RH...but selecting the 'design view' and then reselecting 'use default editor' instead of 'auto-select editor' did it. THANK YOU!!!!!

Sublime Text 2 won't open files with double click
Hi, this is my first time asking for something.
Well, i've been using Scribes, but sometimes i need tabs in my text editor, so i installed Sublime Text 2.
The problem is that i can't open files with double click, i need to use "subl filename" and that it's not funny :S
If i double click a file ST2 opens, but with a tab named "file" and without content.
Is there a fix for that?

P.D: sorry for my english D:the reason seems to be a broken desktop file. `/usr/share/applications/sublime-text.desktop` says `Exec=subl %U`, but it should be `%f`. Also the Aur package does not provide a `subl` symlink so you should create one.

Yesterday double clicked home button and all of my apps disappeared; cannot shut off i-pad, and syncing it does not restore apps or enable me to use it again. Help!
See if this fixes things.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
