Windows 7 x64 french
I have never been able to make a backup (system image+files)  using windows 7.
I tried it right from the purchase of my notebook (2-3 times), then at least 4 more times over more than a year.
I tried 3 different usb external drives (all working), but the program was not able to complete the image. I feel that having a backup of my files and the system image would be a great way to undo any problem without doing a full install of Win7 and all the programs I use.
I'm not sure if the error message was always the same. You have the last one I got here : Input-Output Error (I-O).
I did try chkdsk/r on both drives without any change.
OK so that was the result. Let me give you more details about what I did :
(loose translation warning...)
Using Control Panel > System and Security > Backup and Restore
Then I click on Create a System Image.
Then I chose the drives to be saved :
This is what shows up in backup configuration
Config 2
There is no optical drive in my notebook. I did plug in a usb external dvd drive with a system disk, as asked at the yellow ! above.
Thank for your help

Hello.  Sorry that I cannot help with your technical issue because I don't know what the french in the screen shots is saying.  However, I wanted to let you know that the French forums are not down.  Are you using this link? http://h30478.www3.hp.com/.  I was able to open the French forum at that link.  Thanks.

  • Set System Image (File) Error 1097

We have a built up PXI Chassis with RT OS running on it.  I used Get System Image (File).vi to grab the contents of the hard drive into a Zip file.
I then have a LabVIEW project which builds our software into a startup.rtexe and the associated folders.   The PXI Chassis DIP switches are set up correct to launch the startup.rtexe.
The System.zip file is unpacked and the project files are inserted into it.  The directory is then re-zipped to a new Zip file.
I have a VI which deploys the new Zip file image (basically it runs on a PC connected to PXI Chassis via Ethernet).  It checks that PXI Chassis software has not been deployed or is a different version and uses Set System Image (File).vi to deploy the image.
If I run it on a different but identical PXI rack (chassis number is initially different), the zip file appears to deploy correctly.  The PXI Chassis reboots and launches our software.  Problem is “Set System Image (File).vi” always errors on exiting with a 1097 error.
In addition the image was created from a PXI Chassis numbered 2.  The PXI Chassis I deploying to was initially configured as chassis number 1 (viewed in NI MAX).  After deployment it remains as “Chassis 1”.  If I change it to “Chassis 2” in NI MAX and then run the deployment, it reverts back to “Chassis 1”.  However I would have thought it would change based on the content of the Zip file?
Any ideas why the VI is throwing an error?

    Good Morning Chris,
There are several possible reasons that can cause the error you are seeing:
    1. There is some problem with your code, below is a good example on how to get/set system image from a RT controller:
"Get/Set Images From RT Controllers Using System Configuration API":
    https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-34955
    2. Does this problem only happen when you deploy from the PXI chassis 2? everything works fine with the PC?
I look forward to your reply.
    Thank you.
    Lanxi
    1. I have seen that page, but I cannot open that example as it is for LabVIEW 2013.  I am running LabVIEW 2012.  I have seen and implemented something similar to the built in examples in LabVIEW 2012 though.
    2. The deployment is not from a PXI chassis.  It is too one.  The deployment is performed from a rack mounted Windows XP PC.  It is connected to a PXI Chassis via Ethernet.
Once the Set System Image (File) has completed (with the error), the PXI Chassis is up and running and I can see it is running my software successfully (I output test text to the PXI Chassis' monitor).  I can also call stub VI's on the rack mounted Windows XP PC which in turn connects too and runs the remote VI's successfully.
I think I need to try the deployment on the original source of the System Image and see if it also errors.
    Thanks.

  • Unable to import certain image files in CS5

I currently am using CS5, and I am unable to import certain image files such as .png and.tga. When I try to import them I get an error message saying something along the lines of file type not supported. Any help?

Make sure that the images are not CMYK color space.
    Already tried that, thanks
One thing to take note of is everytime I start AE I get a pop up box saying "You have at least one output module template that refers to a missing plug-in. Please check your Output Module Template". That plug-in would be the TIIFF alpha sequence output. Perhaps  that has something to do with it..

  • Error: Unable to locate an image file browser...

I get the error below when I insert an image element and try to associate a picture to it by either double clicking it or using the browse button in the Draw palette.
I have looked in my install directory and the "FileSystemBrowser.dll" file is present as well as the "ImageFileBrowserIDL.dll" file, so what gives?

    Hi,
you should be able to fix that problem by re-registering Designer file browser DLL.

  • Lightroom Unable to Import HDR Image File Opened as Smart Object

I just started using Nik HDR Efex Pro and created an image file in PS CS4 Extended which was opened as a smart object and saved to play around with later.  The image shows up in Photoshop as "[image number]_hdr.tif" and both PS CS4 Extended and CS5 have no problem opening it.  But I cannot import it into LR3.  LR3 gives me a dialogue box which says in effect that the image file cannot be imported because it is corrupt or unsupported.  I am guessing the latter because (perhaps) as a smart object the image file is 32bit(?)  In any event, has anyone tried and had luck importing to LR3 in this circumstance?  Is it "operator error" or just something LR cannot handle?  Also, if you have encountered this problem, do you have a workaround?  Thanks in advance.

  • Unable to restore System Recovery Files in desktop folder

I owned an HP Pavilion A6037C desktop computer (Running Vista).  It began to give me serious issues in July so i used the HP System Backup and Restore program to create a backup of all my files.  i saved these files on an external HD so i wouldn't lose my files if the computer crashed.  This backup was created in a folder called MINWINPC.  In that folder was this file name "Backup Files 2011-5-7 234595". in that folder was a file list
    Backup.001.App
    Backup.002.fbw
    Backup.003.fbw
    Backup.004.fbw
    and so on ....
I have since removed the first computer (although i still have it in my posession), and have replaced it with an HP Pavilion P6245f desktop running Windows 7.
Now that i have a newer desktop in place i wanted to install some of my old files from my backup that is saved on my external hard drive.  i've connected the external hard drive to the new computer and i've ran the Backup.001.App.  It restored my old files to a folder on my desktop called "Shortcut to System Recovery Files".  It's a rather large file (i believe 50 GB) that is stored in another folder titled "C".  In this folder i can see the seperate file folders i'm assuming were from my original desktop.  when i access my username and select for instance "My Pictures" folder, it shows a list of all my orginal files.  When i double click a picture, it says :
"File not readable. You can not open this file. Please check the readability of this file."
when i try to open any other type of file (such as .pdf's or word documents, or spreadsheets), it basically says the same thing.
"Can not access the document C:\(filelocation).  The document may already be open or a read only document.  The name and path may be invalid. The document may no longer exist, or it may already be open".
PLEASE HELP   All i want to do is restore my pictures, documents, and emails .   HOW CAN I RESTORE THESE FILES TO MY NEW COMPUTER ????????

  • Time machine says unable to complete backup as file is too large

I have a 500 GB Time capsule and it says when carrying out a back up that it can't be completed as the file size is too large, back up requires 233.01 GB and only 211.95 GB are avaliable. Does this mean i need to buy a bigger Time capsule/external hard drive?

    Thanks for the help.
From what I can work out I think as I don't have my computer on all the time long enough to carry out a back up it now wants to do another full back up and I don't have the space on the Time capsule to do that. I will go into a Apple store to check I am right but it looks like I will need to buy a bigger externel hard drive.
    Thanks again

  • Satellite P840 - Unable to restore system image of Win 8.1

I have Toshiba P840 laptop which came with windows 8.0.
I created DVD and USB backups
After upgrade to windows 8.1 and saving images, I had a problem software and needed to go back to a previous back in windows 8.1.
The restore from the external HDD fails due to driver incompatibilities.
Technical support advise to restore windows 8.0 and then upgrade again to windows 8.1
Is there a better way to restore windows 8.1 image?
Is it possible to populate the boot usb (from windows 8 as original) to windows 8.1 drivers?
I am unable to create boot usb with windows 8.1 as the hdd partition has windows 8.0
    Thanks,

For the future I recommend you to create a system backup using the Windows own system backup and restore feature.
Here some details provided by Microsoft:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc
It related to Win 8 as well as Win 8.1
Of course for this step this isnt possible. So you would need to use Toshiba recovery medium to go back to Win 8, then to upgrade to Win 8.1
After installation and update of all the Windows 8.1 drivers and tools, create the backup as mentioned on the MS page.

  • Unable to create large image file in iphoto

I make a lot of panoramic images by stitching together overlapping images with hugin in TIFF format, then edit them in iphoto and use it to export them in jpeg format for greater versitality of use. So far I haven't had any trouble, even with large images as big as ~25,000x2000 pixels and ~90MB file size.
However, I have come across a problem recently trying to export an edited version of a particularly large one - 38,062x1799 136MB file size. I can export an unedited version to jpeg without trouble, but when I tried to export an edited version it gave me an error saying it couldn't create the file. I looked around here for solutions and found the suggestion to check the file size in finder, it was zero. After experimenting I've found that the file size goes to zero as soon as any changes are made to the file, the edited image can still be viewed in iphoto, but does not display if you try to zoom in. I have tried making the TIFF file again with hugin to see if it is a problem with the file, but I also experience the same problem with the newly made file.
I am working on a Macbook air (1.7 GHz Intel Core i5, 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Memory, Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB, Version 10.7.5 OS X) in iphoto '11 version 9.2.2 (629.40). Any suggestions for getting round this issue?

I thought of something that might help with working out what's going on.
After I make any edits to the image, if I move on to the info tab the image initially goes a bit blurry as it often does with large images, but instead of coming up as a clear image after a few seconds like normal, I get the image I've attached here and the file size changes to zero. To be able to see the thumbnail of the edited image I need to come back out to the library again, but the file size is still zero. If I revert to original the file size is restored.

  • Unable to mount downloaded image file

I downloaded the file to install Office Professional Plus 2013 to a Windows 64 bit 8.1.
When I click on the files I received the message "Sorry there is a problem mounting the file".
I have done this twice and get the same problem.
    Any suggestions.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Try to copy the ISO file to another Drive on your PC, mount it again - this works for some users.
I also suggest you turn on Windows Update to keep your system updated to the latest, since I've seen the same issue could also be resolved by the update:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-hk/windows/turn-automatic-updating-on-off#turn-automatic-updating-on-off=windows-8
If you still have the problem mounting the file, you can use the following link to download the img file to install:

  • Sony DRX-810UL unable to completely burn a file

I recently purchased a Sony DRX-810UL DVD burner for my Mac Mini and last night tried to burn an idvd project. The file itself is almost 600 megabytes in size and was made in iMovie with voice-overs done in Garageband.
I tried burning it straight from iDVD 5 and it failed to burn. All the files seemed to be on the DVD but they can't play on any DVD player. I then made a Disk Image and tried burning that from the Disk Utility with the same results.
I used the firewire link both times and then tried to connect through the USB 2.0 cable that came with the burner but when I plug the usb cable and turn on the sony drive, my mac mini won't recognize it.
So 3 ruined DVDs later and I am asking for your help, Apple community :P Please help me get my project on dvd so that I can get it through for the my Monday deadline.

  • How can i perform system image recovery in windows 8.1 hp pavilion g6

recently i upgrade my hp pavilion g6 to 8.1pro..i need to create an system image file of my windows 8.1..so plz give me a detailed procedure...to store it on dvds/online hp backup recovery...
Is this image recovery working properly when my system got in big trouble???

When requesting assistance, please provide the complete model name and product number of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.
The above requested information can be found on the bottom of the computer, inside the battery compartment, or on the BIOS startup/setup screen. Please do not include the serial number. Please enter the model/product information into HP's Online Consumer Support page and post it here for our review.
Please use Windows "System Image Backup" utility to create an exact image of the Windows 8.1 partition as it currently is, on an external hard drive. You may also need to create a Windows "repair" disc. If your computer developes issues or you need to replace the hard drive, all you have to do is "restore" the image to the computer. Please see Windows 8.1 Tip: Use System Image Backup for instructions on creating and restoring a "Windows - System Image Backup."
This process is not a system recovery and is different than using Window Restore or Refresh, or HP System Recovery.
