Unable to configure email in N8

I got a new N8 a couple of days back. However, when I try to configure email over WiFi or GPRS/Edge, I get an error message saying - "Service Temporarily Unavailable. Try again later" I searched the forums and found that a few people with new C7s are also facing the same problems. Any suggestions?

Settings > Google mail > Sync Content > Folder Subscriptions
It will then get a list of folders from the server which so you can select which ones you want.

I'm using latest version of oats,12.1.0.2.58.For configuring email settings in OATS administrator,I'd given my SMTP sever name and tested with valid email address.But the result is failed and an error screen pops out with a message "error while sending email".I just want to figure out the error.Where do i find the error log of this?Please help me on this.

It was a bug in the previous versions of OATS.This bug was fixed and I'd successfully tested it in OATS 12.1.0.2.0 build 58.The testing was done on a windows XP machine.But when i tried to test E-mail configuration on a Windows 2008 R2 server,test fails and the system gives "Error while sending mail".Is there any error logs that would help me find the cause of the error?Are there any OTM specific error logs?

E72 : Unable to configure email post 071.004 firmw...

My emails on e72 were working perfectly fine before this upgrade. but post upgrade, I was unable to recieve my emails. So I removed the accounts and tried to reconfigure them. But the configuration wizard doesn't get past the 'Detecting Email Settings'. This is really annoying and I have lost an import feature of the phone. Can someone help me out?

I did same firmware upgrade. It killed the Nokia email software for using yahoo email. I was able to get Yahoo email working with IMAP settings BUT it is so bad it is hardly worth it.
On my main phone screen I have two email notifications
1) Mail for Exchange
2) Yahoo account
I see the Yahoo account count down to zero(number of unread messages) and then back up to a number. It is like it kills all the messages int he back ground and then re-downloads them. While this is going on the phone, it is so "CPU" bound that I cant use anything on the phone. If I am on a phone call , sometimes the phone goes so CPU bound, it wil drop the call!
Nokia has really done something with this latest firmware upgrade first by killing yahoo email and then by the email takes so much CPU, the phone is un-useable.
Another issue I have seen with the upgrade is
1) I get exchange server busy messages. In 12 months prior, I never saw this! I get over 500 pieces of email a day and NEVER have I see this until the firmware upgrade
2) On a SEND from mail fro Exchange, I also get an error message that the server is busy and it dumps the message into Drafts box. also new since upgrade
3) I now get out of Memory errors when simply going into the calendar or other things.
All I have or use on this phone besides making calls is the Mail for Exchange, Yahoo email, google maps, contact list, calendar, some text meessages and the Nokia bult-in GPS.
This phone all worked fine until this firmware upgrade which I had to do as before the upgrade my mail also stopped working so Nokia customer support told me I had to do the upgrade
Thank You Nokia for making my phone worth about $1.00 in a flea market... time to buy an iPhone or a blackberry. This WAS the best phone on the market for a non touchscreen, but Nokia has killed the phone... At times I cant even make a phone call as I have to shut the phone off and re-start it,.
Yes NOKIA, thank you for making my E72 simply just a phone from all the wonderful things it used to do. Oh yes, I find I have to reboot the phone at least every other day. Priot to your upgrade, the only time I ever turned the phone off was on a plane. If I dont re-boot, I get Memory errors and the phone is so slow is is also un-useable!

Unable to configure Outlook with ASA firewall and IWSVA

We are unable to configure MS outlook in our network which is having IWSVA proxy and cisco ASA 5510 firewall.

Recently, I have become unable to send emails from my comcast email account. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the account, but get an error (Cannot send. Username or password for Comcast invalid). The username and password are correct, though, as my email works fine on my non-Mac laptop. Any suggestions?

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Recently unable to send email from my mac.Receives just fine and no problem sending on my ipad.Recent mountain lion update continues to fail;could they be connected?

Before you try deleting it, is it a POP or IMAP account?
If it's IMAP all your emails should re-appear when the account is recreated. If it's POP you should ensure you have backup of all your emails before deleting to restore from.
Are you using Apple Mail? If so, to delete an account and noting the above, go to Mail>Mail Preferences>Accounts tab. Select the account to delete and click on the 'minus' button. To recreate it click on the 'plus'. You'll need to input your email credentials again. Mail should then try to auto configure but if it fails you may need to add server addresses.
Even if the account is IMAP, I'd still take the precaution of having backup. I've gone through this process a few times with me me.com (IMAP) account and never needed it, but it's a nervous moment when everything disappears. Good when everything re-populates, though.

Need to configure email alerts for app/web server shutdown

I need to configure email alert notification, so that whenever application server or webserver is shutdown/restarted, an email is sent to the group/userid.
I am aware that in Peoplesoft, there is no parameter or functionality which sends an email notification whenever application server & web server restart & shutdown. This is where I need help.
Did anyone setup the email alert notification in any of your environments? If so, please let me know how did you do the setup?

This is the another way of findting the status of the app server.
In the below program, by finding the "Done" value on the output screen we can decide if the server is running or not.

About ~20 hours later, this ended up solving itself. We can send email using the '.icloud' email from both the iPad and iPhone. Advise would be 'wait' before you start seeking alteranatives like yahoo, hotmail, etc. This definitely is a convenient way to keep all your 'cloud' information in a centralized place, including the common email...

Unable to send email from my server to internet mail address. Labview.

I have had great success sending mail when I SMTP to the actual mail server that the email address is on. But when I try to send from my server to some other email address I get an unable to relay "email address" server response. If someone has any ideas on this I would appreciate it. I have included some information that may aid in this endeavor. (I do not want to use Active X thanks to Outlook's dislike of that)

I agree, it is ususual for an SMTP server to check the validity of the reverse-path address, because mailers could just use a invalid address on a valid domain, e.g. [email protected] The address in the "MAIL FROM:" command gives the reverse path to communicate errors and can be different from the actual sender address.
In any case, this is quite irrelevant for the current discussion, because address verification has nothing to do with relaying.
The error message:
550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for [email protected]
is completely unrelated to your:
450 Unable to find nowhere.com
Just to clarify, I was talking about address in the FROM: field of the message header, and not what is
communicated in the "MAIL FROM:" SMTP command. (Similarly, the TO: field in the header is not used for message targeting and can be anything, it can even be missing and the SMTP server still does not care. Targeting is done entirely with the RCPT TO: SMTP command which not contained in the header (the mail header is part of the message DATA). Refer to RFC 821 for further details.
You probably won't find a legitimate SMTP server that allows relaying, so the solution is to use the designated SMTP server for the particular location.

There are two ways that should work. When you are in the trash folder, you can swipe on the email in the list - left to right - and a red Delete button should pop up. Or you can select - Edit - at the top of the list of messages and then select the message and tap delete.
Not sure exactly how this works - but if you have restrictions enabled - especially since you let your grandchild use the device - that may be restricting what you can do in the mail app. Go to Settings>General>Restrictions. If you have it set to on - turn it off or see if you have mail restricted.

Unable to send email from content server

I have a requirement of sending the notification email to user from the stellent when he subscribe to it.To test it i logged in to content server as sysadmin.

You have to request you Network team to add the ip address of the machine where you have installed content server to your Exchange Server.
