Unable to connect hp photosmart c4480 printer to wireless network

I just purchased a new laptop HP dv7-6169nr but I'm unable to connect to my HP printer Photosmart C4480.  I'm connected by home linksys.  I tried to set up connection by using "sharing" properties but I guess I must be doing something wrong because I'm able to find the printer but when I try to print, the computer cannot find the printer.  Can anyone help me?

Hey there!
Do you have a different pc available? Or if you have a friend who has a laptop will do as well. Because that will answer your question if its an issue with your pc. If it doesnt work with the other pc and you've tried a diff cable, its a big possibility its with the usb port on the printer.
Now, if you dont know anybody with a diff pc, you might wanna check your firewall settings. Its also one reason why your pc cant detect the printer.
You can also disable the startup programs just to make sure its not an issue with any 3rd party software. Try to follow the steps in this link in how to disable them ( and make sure you re-enable them once your done )

if one of my advice works or helped a little, you can click the *KUDOS* button on the left. thanks.
Disclaimer : Even though im working for HP, all comments and suggestions are my personal opinion. HP still has a process to follow. (But i hope it will help ü)

  • Can't connect HP Photosmart C4780 to my wireless network

Evertime I try to connect my HP Photosmart C4780 to my wireless network I get this message:
"Your computer is unable to communicate with your printer at 192.168.1.127. This may be caused by firewall software. If you are using firewall software, verify that UDP port 427 is unblocked for both inbound and outbound traffic.
Your PC can not communicate with your printer at address 192.168.1.127. Check all cable connections. Check that the printer, PC and router are powered on and connected to the network."
I have tried turning my firewall software off and that didn't work. All cables are connected and everything is powered on.

  • Can't Connect Photosmart 7510 Printer to Wireless Network

This printer isn't new, but it's new for me (my mother gave it to me). However, I'm trying to set it up, and I can't get it to connect to a wireless network. When I go into the Wireless Network Setup on the printer, no networks are listed (even though several should be listed, mainly our home network). I tried entering the network information (name & password) manually, and it still didn't work. I've downloaded drivers and all, but I can't complete anything because while the printer is powered on, it's offline. I don't know if the drivers just don't work because I upgraded to Yosemite within the past few weeks (and the drivers are for the OS prior to that one), or what. I can't even begin printing because I'm dealing with this nonsense...

Did everything you said to do, and still had the same issue. The Wireless Network Test results say the following: WirelessWireless Working - FAILSignal Quality - Not Run ConnectivityConnected - Not RunDisconnect count total - 0Disconnect count (last hour) - 0Disconnect count (last 24 hours) - 0 NetworkNetwork Name (SSID) Found - Not RunOther networks detected matching your network name (SSID) - NoWireless Networks Detected - 0 SettingsPrinter Settings Consistent with Wireless Router Settings - Not RunNo Filtering - Not RunChannel - Not RunSecurity - Not Run

  • Unable to connect my Apple TV to my wireless network

    Hi
    I have an Apple TVMC572LL/A
I had to replace my wireless router.  I am now using a dual band router.
I am unable to connect to the 5GHz signal offered by the router.
    It is a Netgear N750.
Is there an issue with this generation Apple TV and 5GHz?

Hi Iv'e been trying to solve this issue for a couple of weeks now and have done loads of digging. My Atv worked fine when I bought it Gen1 and connected to my wifi no problem. Then for some reason dropped the wifi, it could find the wifi but wouldn't let me join it!
The solution and worked for me....I removed my router that was sitting on top of the Atv. Apparently it causes issues and bingo connected straight away to my wifi
Have read a lot of stories thread regarding these issues and people storing the unit behind under tv's etc. Stand the unit alone and see what happenes?
Hope this works for you as it did for me Happy viewing again.

  • Connecting HP LaserJet P1102w printer to wireless network

I have been trying to connect my HP LaserJet P1102w printer to my wireless network for a couple days now. I put the disk in and follow the instructions. When I get to the part about plugging in the USB to the desktop computer and turning on the printer, and it says the USB isn't connected when it is (the printer is on). I don't know what to do.

    Hi @tripleaaz ,
I can help you with setting up the printer over the wireless network.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet and the USB cable is connected directly to one of the back USB ports on the computer.
The USB cable shouldn't be longer then 6 feet.
Is the cable a 2.0 or 3.0 cable? How to determine whether a USB 3.0 device is operating at SuperSpeed?
Is the USB port on the computer 2.0 or 3.0?
Follow these steps in this document to get to the device manager to check for any printer entries.
How do I get into Windows Device Manager?
Then click on Identifying problems in Windows Device Manager.
In the list click on Universal Serial Bus controllers and look for USB mass storage device and USB printing support, (make sure any other printers are turned off or disconnected) right click and uninstall it. If you have any others with exclamation mark or other devices in the list, delete them also.
Let me know what it showed in the device manager.
Then click on Action, across the top of the window and scan for new hardware.
If the printer wasn't listed at all in the Device Manager, try another USB port on the computer and another USB cable.
Restart the computer and the printer also to see if the printer will be detected.
If the printer still isn't recognized, if you have another computer, connect the printer to it to see if it is recognized.
Just to rule out a USB port on the computer, USB cable or hardware issue with the USB port on the printer.
What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
Let me know how that goes and what the results were.
    Have a nice day!

  • Droid 3 - Unable to connect to AT&T U-verse wireless network and unable to download apps using 3G

    Hi,
I just purchased a DROID 3.  It will not connect to my home network which is AT&T U-verse.  It goes through the authentication process and then Wi-Fi shows as disconnected and the network shows as disabled.  Everything else is connecting to the router just fine, computers, printers, blackberry. I have toggled wi-fi on and off and get the same result.
I was able to connect to other wireless networks, AT&T DSL, mobile hotspots, just not AT&T U-verse.
In addition, I am unable to download apps using the 3G network.
    Any solutions out there?
    Thanks

Thanks for responding.  I've tried all of those already.  I've also manually configured my home wi-fi connection via "Add Wi-Fi network.  It still goes through the authentication process and disconnects.
Is there something that needs to be configured on my router.  It's a 2Wire 3800HGV-B.
Regarding downloads, I have a gmail ccount.  The message is that I need a Wi-Fi connection in order to download.
    Thanks
On my router, it is set to accept connections only from devices (MAC Addresses) I allow. Maybe you have yours set up that way.
Also if you have a passcode on the router, you will need to search for the device, then add the passcode to your phone.

Try deleting the printer, restarting, and trying software update again.

  • Wirelessly connecting HP Photosmart 7510 printer to 64-bit Windows 7 computer

I'm setting up a new printer, and I have never printed wirelessly before. The printer is connected to the wireless network, but the computer can't find it. The printer's wireless network test results show that wireless is working. When I install the HP photosmart software on the computer, and it gets to the "Network Check" window, it just stalls there without finding any printers. Obviously, the computer is connected to the wireless network because I'm posting this online. Seems like the problem is with the printer driver software? I also tried downloading the Home Network Diagnostic Utility. From there I was able to go to the printer page and print a test page. However, I still can't print anything from the computer. If I try to add a printer in the control panel, when I search for network printers the same thing happens. It just stalls there without finding anything. Using task manager to end the program is the only way to close the window once it gets stuck. Any ideas?

    AN IMPORTANT UPDATE!
I had turned off my virus protection and firewall, and was still unable to connect to the printer, or ping it.
I could successfully ping the printer from my router, so I turned the router off and back on, re-configured the wireless setup on the printer, and I am able to connect and print again!
Even though I could connect the printer to the router, and all of my computers were connected to the internet, something on the router was preventing me from connecting to the printer that was connected to the same network.
So I've learned that I have a printer that works fine, but I own a crappy router. Hopefully this can help someone else.

  • Using the Time Capsule to print wirelessly to HP Photosmart C4480 Printer

Does anyone know how to set-up the Time Capsule to make it print to a HP Photosmart C4480 Printer wirelessly from a Mac Mini (Mac OS X 10.5.8) and/or a MacBook Pro (10.4.11)?
I've tried everything, at least I think so. I followed the manual, the help from the discussion forums, from trial & error, and from the Apple Store Genius.

When you say hooked them up.. what do you mean? As a wireless printer it should connect by wireless as a client to the TC.
But if you use apple names it might get lost. I would recommend you set all the wireless names to SMB standard.. short no spaces pure alphanumeric in the TC.
Also you might do better locking the wireless channels.

  • Unable to connect to internet or print wirelessly on Boot Camp with Windows 7

I recently installed Boot Camp and Windows 7 on my Mac Book Pro with no problems.
A month later, I am unable to connect to internet or print wirelessly.
It states that I am connected to my router.
When I trouble shoot, it cannot find the problem.
My wireless connection and cable connection are fine on the MAC side.
    Please help.

looks a like a Windows 7 problem. I assume that you can click on the current connection info on the task bar and see a connection to your wireless router?  Have you updated your copy of Windows since it was working? I am wondering if it's an update that's applied in Windows which has done something.

    Hi,
You dont have to fiddle around with the wireless channel and calling your isp and all, i install these every day to my customers, when i get any issues i follow these three methods, one of them works
    HP Printer Wireless Setup
HP Automatic Wireless Configuration or (HP Auto Wireless Connect)  HP printer Wireless Setup, includes Auto Wireless Connect technology that allows connecting the printer to the wireless network automatically without having to connect any cables or enter wireless network settings such as wireless password or id. All new HP printers will have this capability during the software installation process. In some cases computers or the network configurations are compatible with HP Auto Wireless Connect. In these cases, an alternate wireless setup method will be offered. To be compatible with HP Auto Wireless Connect, the following conditions must be met: Your computer uses Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Mac OS X 10.5 +. Your computer uses a wireless connection to your network and the operating system is in control of the wireless adapter so that the HP Software can retrieve the computer’s current network settings. Your computer is connected to your 802.11b/g/n wireless router over a 2.4 GHz connection.
NOTE: HP Printers are currently not compatible with 802.11n 5.0 GHz networks.Your computer does not use a static static IP address. Your printer is in HP Auto Wireless Connect mode. The printer will be in this mode for one hour after it is first powered on during installation before it is connected to a network. If your printer has been powered on for more than one hour and the software has not yet tried to connect the printer to your wireless network, you can reset this mode by using the Restore Network Defaults option from the printer control panel. Refer to your printer documentation for how to perform Restore Network Defaults. Other environmental and technical factors may also affect whether HP Auto Wireless Connect is offered.
If HP Auto Wireless Connect is offered during the installation of your printer, it is the recommended setup method. Part of the setup process requires your computer to be temporarily disconnected from your wireless network. During this time you will not have Internet access. Be sure to save any online work and/or downloads before continuing with this setup method. To use this option, install the software for your printer and follow the onscreen instructions. When prompted, select the “Network (Ethernet/Wireless)” connection type and then choose “Yes, send my wireless settings to the printer (recommended)”. That’s it! The HP software will do the rest. If HP Auto Wireless Connect is not offered during the software installation or if it is not successful, you will be guided to use another wireless setup method.WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) – WPS has two modes to connect devices together over a wireless connection. One is called “pushbutton” and the other is called “PIN”. Pushbutton is by far the easiest method. We will describe how to connect using the WPS pushbutton method, but not the PIN method.
For instructions on starting WPS on your printer consult your printer’s manual. However there are some conditions that need to be met in order to use WPS pushbutton mode:
Both your printer and wireless router must support WPS pushbutton mode. Consult your printer and wireless router manuals. The wireless router must have a physical WPS pushbutton available. Your network must use WPA or WPA2 security. Most WPS wireless routers will not connect using the WPS method if WEP or no security is used.  Most WPS wireless routers will not connect using the WPS method if you are using the manufacturer’s default for the network name and no security.
To connect your wireless printer to your wireless router using WPS. Start the WPS pushbutton mode on your printer. For instructions on starting WPS on your printer, consult your printer’s manual. Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router.HP Printer Wireless Setup – The Wireless Setup WizardThe Wireless Setup Wizard, which you run from the printer’s control panel. Make sure you know your network name and your security password (WEP or WPA). On the printer’s control panel, press the Setup button and then select the Network menu. The Wireless Setup Wizard displays a list of wireless networks in the area. Note:  The Setup button may appear as a wrench icon. There are differences between product models. Select your wireless network’s name from the list. If you don’t see your wireless network listed, you can enter your network name manually by scrolling to the bottom of the list. If you enter the name manually it must be exact, including upper and lower case characters. Enter your WEP key or WPA passphrase. You must enter the key or passphrase exactly, including upper and lower case characters. Your printer should connect to your wireless network. If it does not connect, you are given the opportunity to print a Wireless Network Test report that will help you find out what may be wrong.USB Setup of WirelessUSB setup of wireless – Some HP wireless printers can use this wireless setup method during the printer software installation. During this process you’ll temporarily connect a USB cable between the computer and the printer. It’s important that you connect and disconnect the cable only when prompted by the software, which will guide you through connecting and configuring your printer’s wireless connection. In some cases the software may automatically find your wireless settings for you.To connect your wireless printer to your wireless router using USB setup of wireless, proceed to Installing Printer Software.

  • 7525 Wirelessly connected, loses internet connection, will not print from wireless network

Have a 7525 Photosmart printer (approx 7 months in service) that has been working great until now.  I had to change the dsl/wireless router over the weekend and now I can't print wirlessly from the network.  According to the printer diagnostics, the printer is connected to the network but each time I try to print, the computer being used can't find the printer.  Checking the Wireless Network Test Results page, all is fine except there is no internet connection.  Restoring the internet connection requires a 're-boot' of the printer, i.e., switching it off and unplugging, after which network printing is restored.  However, that only lasts for a very short time, less than 1 minute, then no more network printing.
I think there is something fishy with the IP address.  HP Print and Scan Doctor can't find the printer using this address. Typing the IP address into the browser gets an error message that the page cannot be found.  That address should lead you to the printer page, but it does not.  Changing the router resulted in an IP address change for the printer, but I wasn't even able to manually set the IP address via HP troubleshooting as it required the ability to get to the printer page from the IP address.
I am rambling on, but I have reached my knowledge limit and hope that someone can give me some other suggestions on what to try next.    Thanks

Hi Seenders and welcome to the HP Forum,
I understand that you are having connection issues with the printer on the network. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue. In this document for Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection are different solutions that may resolve your connections issues. Once you have the printer up on the network make sure you update the IP Address on your computer.
I hope this information is useful. Let me know how it works out.
    Thank you,
