Unable to connect network stream

Hi,
i have a PXI-8196 as the RT System, and then my host and I'm trying to create a network stream between them.
When I run the RT System up, then run first the RT vi and then the Host vi and connect, there is no problem. The problem comes when I stop the vi's: if then I run again both vi's, the host vi is unable to connect again with the RT vi, as the system returns me the error -314004 when the host vi tries to create the endpoint...  If I then shut the PXI system down and run it up again, it works...
Thanks in advance for the answer!

"It's all in the wrist" (V White).  You need to decide who is "hosting" the Network Stream (in my case, it's the PXI), and which direction you are streaming (I actually have 4 streams, one PC -> PXI and three PXI -> PC).  The key step is that you need to be sure that the PXI (the system running the Network Stream "engine") is running first.
Note that the error you saw, -314004, (probably) means that the PXI is not, in fact, "listening" for the Host to make a connection.  If you suspect there's a "race" condition (you accidently start the Host first), you can simply say "Oh, that error means I need to wait 10 seconds for the PXI to get ready, then try again".
If all else fails, you can get the PXI to restart itself, ensuring a clean system.

Hold on... advice to someone downloading from 1337x !!!
Until I saw your comment and googled the term, I had no idea that this was a "downloaded" file. I assumed the "1337x" reference was to dimensions/resolution and Noir referred to genre. (I.e., I use similar notations the differentiate files compressed for TV playback comparisons.) In any case, the advice is the same irrespective of the source.
er, isn't it illegal to download movies ?
Not necessarily. Thousands of movies are probably downloaded daily as legal purchases from such vendors as iTunes. Thousands more are available for free in the public domain, open source/community videos listings, and under Creative Commons Licensing. In short, there are many legal sources of downloadable content and you should not automatically jump to the conclusion that everyone is a crook.

  • Unable to connect to wifi network

I put my (2 day old) iPT to sleep last night in the middle of watching some Netflix streaming video. When I woke it up this morning, the Netflix app tried to resume play and failed. The iPT started asking for a network password. I made a few careful attempts to enter it (it is one of those 64 random character things, and my iPT typing skills are nascent) and it failed to connect. Finally iPT began saying 'unable to connect' and stopped asking for a password. I checked the router, connected with my laptop, no problems there. Perhaps the router has some lockout after failed login attempts, but if so I could not discover the setting in order to reset it.
Finally, I reset the iPT network settings, and was able to connect and enter the password successfully.
My question is this: why did this happen, and can I be at all confident it won't happen again?
I've never had a similar problem with other wifi devices I've used with this router since setting it up over a year ago, so to my mind it is obvious there is a problem with the iPT wifi hardware or software. Needless to say, it is a pain to enter the wifi key once, let alone every few days.

Your post indicates that you are using WEP security. Do as Apple suggests and move to WPA or WPA2 security. WEP is obsolete and can be cracked in seconds with widely available software.

  • Unable to connect to p2p multicast stream from external access

    Hi
I have been tasked with creating a stream using p2p multicast.
I have been able to create and connect to the stream locally, however when I try to connect from a external connection I get a message from flash player
"We are unable to connect to the network. We apologize for the inconvenience"
On looking at the logs for the external connection I find that the session is pending, where as on when I connect locally the session is pending then connect session and streams.
I have looked at some of the posting here and not found the answer.
Host machine server 2003 is on host.domain.local
External ip address has a domain name pointing to it
    Delivery html page
Local server is in DMZ for debugging, this should rule out any firewall issues
    Flash Player 10.3
I have set connections to allow all on FMS and Apache and have no problems accessing web server, FMS admin and I can stream vod's without any problems.
In order to deliver stream I am using a html page, which is setup using flashplayer setup this generates the stream information to be pasted into the html and works locally. When I setup using external domain name I get the above message.
Multicast Config Tool is set to external domain name
On searching for an answer I have come across cross domains, could this be what the issue is, if not any suggestions?

No, the files are not on windows or on HD. I moved the files i.e. cut and paste from the HD connected on Win and directly copied them to MAC as the HD was not readable on MAC.
I notice that the files and folders were there but they were grayed out, but when I copied them to new folder on MAC and did UNDO they disappeared.
I assume they are somewhere on the MAC drive as I haven't moved anything to Trash and not yet emptied the trash once since I got this MAC.

  • Unable to connect to home wireless network with my iPod touch

I've had my iTouch for several months now and I'm still not able to connect to my wireless network at home. I've tried the resets and other suggestions I've found in the discussion groups but nothing has worked.
I have an older Netgear Router MR814v2 and it is unsecured. It is attached to my old desktop, HP Pavilion running Windows ME, which is not able to run the itunes software. My HP laptop is where my iTouch and iTunes software is installed.
The iTouch displays my network with good signal strength, but when I try to connect I get the "unable to join the network "NETGEAR".
Going to my router, it does not recognize my iTouch as an attached device. Why is that and what am I missing?
Thank you for all suggestions and your help.

I tried powering down the router. When it's off the iTouch does not recognize the network and then when it's powered on again, the iTouch recognizes the network. Unlike the public wi-fi spots that my iTouch responds to, where all the info like IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router, DNS etc are populated in the settings...my iTouch does not populate these fields at home even though it recognizes the network. I still get the unable to connect to network error. Could it be that my router is antiquated and can not support the iTouch? Like I said earlier, my Router does not recognize the iTouch as being attached to it.

  • Why can I connect to my home network with my iPhone 5 in one room, but when I move to another it is 'unable to connect to the network'

At home, I can connect my iPhone 5 to my home wifi network with no problems, as long as I stay downstairs.
As soon as I go upstairs my phone disconnects from the network. I can still see the home network it in the available network lists (with full signal strength), but when I try to reconnect I get an 'unable to connect to the network message'
If I move back downstairs it reconnects
This has only started happening in the past week or so
I've tried to forget and rejoin the network, but this doesn't work
I reset my network settings on the phone. This worked for a couple of hours and I could connect to the wifi upstairs, but now it won't connect again.
Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

Sounds like your wi-fi signal strength has degraded.  Try rebooting your wi-fi router, or get it serviced.
Do you have similar issues with any other wi-fi routers?

  • IPod Touch unable to connect to wireless network.

I just got an iPod Touch 4 for my birthday (w00t), however I cannot seem to get it to connect to my wireless router. Everytime I try, it says Unable to connect to network. I reset the routers password, but it didn't do anything. I saw in other threads people said to switch ti WPA security, but mine is already set as WPA Personal. I'm not sure what to do! Please help!

NO I did not and thank you very much for the advice.  My problem was stated incorrectly in that while I am able to connect to the wireless from that point on I am unable to connect to the internet.  I will check the article referred to.

  • Suddenly unable to connect to wireless network...exhausted all fixes

I’ve got an odd problem with my two-week old MacBook Pro and its connection to my wireless network. I’ve done what I think is pretty exhaustive troubleshooting, but remain baffled. Here’s the story.
This morning I connected to my wireless network (DSL 2WIRE modem/router) with no problem. This afternoon I returned and Airport refused to connect, giving me the error message, “Airport is unable to connect to the wireless network…” The network shows up as being available, but when I attempt to connect, it wont. (I didn’t make any changes or install any programs this morning).
    Here’s what I’ve done:
    [1] Restarted the router
    [2] Repaired permissions
[3] Deleted the network’s entry in Keychain Access
[4] Re-entered my WEP code (assuring it is in correctly; I’ve tried both with the “$” and without)
[5] Used interface robustness and without.
[6] Attempted to join the network from the System Preferences>Network.Airport route.
[7] Created a new account and tried connecting.
    Other tidbits of information:
[1] Another MacBook in the house connects to the network with no problem.
[2] My MacBook can connect to another (unsecured) network that I can “see” in my house.
So, it would seem my Airport card is working okay.
    Any ideas??

Some more info (in case anyone is listening...)
I tried turning off the WEP code and could connect. (Since I share files on my home network, this isn't a "solution").
I also tried Resetting the MacBook Pro System Management Controller (SMC)(See: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303319). I did this (I think -- there wasn't any indication that the reset "took"), but alas -- no luck.
I gave Apple Care a call, but the support guy, while courteous and all, didn't have anything to offer other than telling me to take it in to an Apple Store for a repair (clearly it isn't a hardware issue).
    Heeellllppppp!
