Unable to connect nokia 5800 to nokia suite

Hi friends,
someone please advice me on what to do when my nokia 5800 express music is not getting connected with nokia store ?

Not certain whether you mean Nokia Store application itself not opening or fails to find either WLAN or Network access point. although should by default use whatever is Priority 1 in Internet folder in Settings > Connectivity > Destinations > Internet.

You don't say whether 32 bit or 64 bit but PC Suite v7.1.40.1 should be compatible.

Unable to connect to WLAN with Nokia N95

Hi
Just bought a nokia N95 and I'm unable to connect to the WLAN at my work place. No problem connecting to my home WLAN, and there are no problems connecting my laptop to the workplace WLAN.
I browse for WLANs and select "Start web browsing", the wlan name comes up find and I select it, but after quite some time I get: "Internet: server not found".
I've read the other posts about assigning a static IP, but the sysadms here will kill me if I try that. Is there another way of getting this to work? It can't be true that the N95 is so picky with WLAN configurations?

Nokia 5800 and Ovi Suite Contacts Sync Changes Pic...

Hi,
I have a Nokia 5800 and just installed the latest Nokia Ovi Suite (2.0).
It is a good tool, but I have a problem with the synching my contacts.
Befor Ovi sync, I use to associate pictures from my gallery with contacts. When I dial the contacts the picture of the contact took up most of the screen (until the contact answers the call - then it makes the picture small and puts it in the speech bubble)
After I sync'ed with Ovi Suite, the contact picture now shows up as a small - very small - thumbnail image during the call on the phone.
Is there something that can be done to protect this from happening, or a setting that can be changed in Ovi to use a large picture instead of a thumbnail?
My 5800 has the latest firmware installed (available to me in my country) - which is 31.0.101.

Unable to connect to net through pc suite

hi guys,
I am unable to connect to net on my pc through pc suite after i upgraded it to the latest version. It just displays after trying for few seconds as data pack not availiable.. I even tried with a different model n diff network.. Still does't work.. Any solutions? My model c3-00

Nokia 5800 ans Nokia Music Problems

Hi, i recently got the nokia 5800 but the thing is it doesnt work with Nokia Music. I had trouble the first time so i jus unplugged it then put it back in then i coudl see it on the nokia music to drag songs into but now the program doesnt see it. I have it in PC Suite mode, the computer see's it, Ovi suite see's it, Noke pc suite see's it but nokia music just doesn't, What is going on here? Thanks

@emmrecs - transferring files could be almost twice as fast in mass storage when compared to pc suite mode. Also mass storage can work on any computer, macs for example.

Help needed to sync Nokia 5800 with Ovi Suite, but...

I need to back up my phone with Ovi suite before my phone goes to Vodafone for repair as the lcd screen isnt working. how do I sync my phone when I cant read the sms sent to set the sync up?

if u hv the mobile wd u and u r able to switch on ur mobile and also hear the startin tune.. U can attach the phone to pc and sync using ovi suite.. U DONOT need to select the connection mode.. It gets selected by default if u start the ovi suite..

hi all,
this is a tricky query. i am using om 4.1 on my nokia 3110 classic and using gprs through airtel (service provider). now, one day i changed sim card to bsnl and configure manual settings for bsnl. now, after doing that i have an issue that i am only able to access internet using the native browser of the phone, i am not able to access the internet using om 4.2 actually, the issue is: om is not using manually configured settings to access internet while native browser is using those settings to access internet. can anyone please help me to correct this issue?
Also, the issue is not limited to Opera Mini browser. All the application that uses GPRS to work are not working as they are using manually configured settings to access internet while nokia's native browser is using manually configured settings to access internet.

Why don't you get the settings from your Operator ? Call the help line and give details... the settings will be sent thru' SMS and you have to only select 'SAVE'.. and it will get configured on its own...

Which version of firmware are you on?
If you are experiencing a lot of hangs,try switching off transitions in Themes, it makes the phone way fast, also you can buy a task manager such as Handy Taskman(http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/software/item/Handy_Taskman_for_S60.php), it helps monitor which applications are running in the background and helps the phone to run faster. My friend has a 5800 and i own a N97 and both the phones work a lot faster with display transitions off.
If all else fails, try resetting the phone by using the code *#7370#, before resetting remeber to backup all your important data such as contacts, messages etc that are in the phone memory, data items in the memory card are not erased upon reset by the above code.
About your query for software updates, nokia continues to support its phones for about 2 years after release, lets hope the upcoming firmware update meets all expectations.

When I subscribe to my nokia it sends a message to nokia.And than I sends back a message from MY NOKIA your sign up failed. See 'my nokia'' in your my nokia to try again. For more information.visit www.nokia.com/mynokia.
I did this 5 times and it sends back your sign up failed.

I have a nokia 6303i phone
The solution is simple.
Go to ->
http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/device-software-update
1. Enter your phone's model number
2. Check if it has an update or not by pressing *#0000# on your phone to view device firmware details.
3. Then download the device software updater and update your phone via this software. Don't update using nokia OVI suite.
This solved my problem.

I have installed Nokia Ovi Suite on my pc (Windows 7) but when I try to connect my Nokia X6 I keep getting this message

Uninstall Nokia Connectivity Cable driver thru' Windows Control Panel and reboot both PC and Phone.. Then connect again and wait for the Drivers to install. Make sure the PC is connected to internet to enable download of the latest drivers if required...

Nokia N85 unable to connect to Ovi Suite

I am unable to connect my nokia n85 through usb for Ovi suite and also the Nokia Download program. Whenever i connect the cable, it tells me
"your device is in file transfer connection mode and cannot be used with NOkia Ovi Suite. Quit file tranfer mode from the device if you want to use the device with Nokia Ovi Suite"
The problem is i have no idea how to do this, and whenever i connect my usb cable my phone asks me which type of transfer method and i always select pc suite, so it shouldnt give me this error.

When I start my Nokia Ovi Suite (V. 2.2.0.245) it works as usual, I can brows around my content without any problems. As soon as I connect my Nokia 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006) it crashes. Worked just fine before I upgraded to the latest version on the phone.

Uninstall Ovi and re-download from Nokia web. Reinstalled Ovi Suite but that didn't work.
I then uninstalled all Ovi and all Nokia related software, cleaned Registry and reinstall Ovi Suite: Failed to fix.
Then I installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.1 which worked just fine with 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006). I had no problems making backups or to synchronize.

Then I installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.1 which worked just fine with 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006). I had no problems making backups or to synchronize with Nokia PC Suite.
Made a complete backup on my phone.
Installed Nokia Software Updater and I reinstall the latest FW 51.0.006 to my phone.
Then I organized my content for a few minutes.
Shut down Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Software Updater.
Started up Nokia Ovi Suite.
Connected my phone and clicked on PC-Suite on the options.
It now works again????
Something happened when I installed PC Suite that enabled me to use my Nokia 5800 with Ovi Suite again.
